SEDALIA, Mo. - Lisa Carol Goodnight of Sedalia, formerly of Dover, Del., died of cancer Sunday, April 19, 1998, in her home. She was 40.
Mrs. Goodnight was born in Woodstock, Va., the daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy Kelly.
She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Del.
Mrs. Goodnight enjoyed reading, traveling and music. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Ms.Goodnight frequently visited her family in Dover and Smyrna, Del.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ricky D. Goodnight.
She is survived by her husband, Carl David Goodnight of Dover; two daughters, Amanda Hill and Christina Goodnight, both of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cherokee and Raven of Sedalia; one brother, Jerry Kelly of Dover, two sisters; Joyce Ridgley of Edinburg, Va. and Bobbi Costello of Dover; four nephews, Christopher Gearhart, Jason Goodnight, Michael Costello and Michael L. Costello of Dover; and in-laws, Lavern and Al Brown of Dover, Carl Goodnight of Dover, Mr. and Mrs. Diane Ruff of Felton, and Linda C. Goodnight of Dover.
Service will be Thursday at Heckart and Gillespie Funeral Home in Sedalia. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Amanda Hill, 403 W. Hurley Road, Sedalia, MO.
Walter S. Kraclet, 89
SMYRNA - Walter S. Kraclet of Smyrna, formerly of Rockford, Ill. and Wyoming, died Saturday, April 18, 1998, in the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill. He was 89.
Mr. Kraclet retired from Jack Ace Company in Rockford, where he worked as a lift truck mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Greenhow Kraclet.
He is survived by two sons, John Krawczyk and Charles Krawczyk, both of Denver; two daughters, Mary Reid of Denver and Darlene Cunningham of Wyoming; a sister, Julie Howard of Rockford; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be held Thursday in the Ulrey Funeral Home, Rockford.
Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford

Etzel B. Jerman, 77
MILFORD - Etzel B. Jerman of Milford, died of heart failure Sunday, April 19, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 77.
Mrs. Jerman was a homemaker.
She was a coin collector.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. 'Barney' Jerman in 1979.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Kimmey of Dover; a nephew, Raymond W. Jarman of Riverside, Calif.; a niece, Mary Buckley of Ellendale, who cared for her; several other nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henlopen Memorial Park, Del. 1, Milton.
Friends may call from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford.

Cecil J. Burton, 79
MILLSBORO - Cecil J. Burton of Millsboro, died of pneumonia Sunday, April 19, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center. He was 79.
Mr. Burton was born in Delmar, the son of the late Harry R. and Beatrice Davis Burton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Burton was an insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance for 37 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, Millsboro; a member of V.F.W. Post 7422, Millsboro, and a member of American Legion Post 22, Millsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marian Hamilton Burton of Millsboro; three sons, Gene Burton of Georgetown, Ray and Jim Burton, both of Millsboro; one daughter, Beatrice Keenan of Millsboro; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one stepsister, Pearl Penuel of Delmar and a stepmother, Elma Brittingham of Delmar.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
The Rev. Joseph Dulany will officiate.
Burial will be in Carey's Cemetery, Millsboro.

Irene K. Elliott, 79
DELMAR - Irene K. Elliott of Delmar, died Monday, April 20, 1998, in Sinai Hospital, Baltimore. She was 79.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Georgetown, the daughter of the late Linden T. Isaacs and Nora N. Isaacs.
She graduated from the Beebe School of Nursing in 1940.
She retired in 1979 from the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse.
Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Kings United Methodist Church in Laurel and the Nanticoke Homemakers Club, and was one of the founding members and first president of the Delmarvalist Quilters Club of Sussex County.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy H. Layton, in 1966, and a grandson, Scott L. Pfeiffer.
She is survived by her second husband, John W. Elliott of Delmar; two sons, Howard R. Layton of Millsboro and John Jeffrey Elliott of Delmar; two daughters, Judy L. Pfeiffer of Salisbury, Md., and Bonnie L. Atkins of Georgetown; a sister, Ruth I. Hitchens of Seaford; and two grandchildren, Canice Kinnel of Seaford and Brian Atkins of Georgetown.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where the Rev. Tina Whaley will officiate.

Charles 'Smokey' S. Shifflett, 75
DOVER - Charles 'Smokey' S. Shifflett of Dover, died due to complications of emphysema, Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 75.
Mr. Shifflett was born in 1923, in Elkton, Va., the son of the late Etha P. Shifflett.
He was a retired asbestos worker for Local 42 in Wilmington, after working for them for nearly 30 years. Before becoming an asbestos worker, he tried fishing for a living.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Mr. Shifflett enjoyed mechanics and fishing in the Delaware Bay.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Page Shifflett of Dover; a son, Charles Shifflett of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Ester Meadows of Laurel, and Carolyn Baggs of Hillard, Ohio; two brothers, Russel and James Anderson, both of Oriskany; a sister, Edith Goff of Salem; six grandchildren, Randy Jr., Scott and Timothy Meadows; Craig and Keith Baggs, and Charles Shifflett Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 5 p.m. Saturday at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, Reed and Bradford streets, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Frank C. Foster, 72
DOVER - Frank C. Foster of Dover, died of heart failure, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 72.
Mr. Foster was born in 1925, in Chicago, son of the late Joseph and Marie Sebek Frcek.
He retired in 1985 after working 32 years for Roger Engraving, Long Island, N.Y., as a photo engraver. He also worked for the Modern Maturity Centers Weatherization Program and at General Foods, where he was a security guard.
He was a World War II Marine veteran.
Mr. Foster was a member of the St. Alban's Masonic Lodge, a member of the Pleasantville (N.Y.) Lodge 886 where he formerly was the worshipful master and held position of secretary for four years, and a member of the Royal Arch Masons and the Shrine. He was also a member of the Marine Corp League in Dover.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elinor Murphy Foster of Dover, two sons, Robert W. Foster of Cantebury and John E. Foster of Staten Island; a brother, James Frock of Lawrenceville, Ga.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel in Dover, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and one hour prior to service. There will also be a masonic service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Claude Harely Towsley, 61
DOVER - Claude Harely Towsely of Dover, formerly of New York, and Altoona, Pa., died of heart failure, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, in the Christiana Hospital in Newark. He was 61.
Mr. Towsely was born in 1936, in Dansville, the son of the late Vernon and Marguerite Towsley.
He worked for Victor Insulator in New York as a laborer.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover, and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Towsely loved his country, his family, and the simple things in life. He was a man of quiet and gentleness and cared deeply for others.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred F. Towsley of Dover; five daughters, Santa and James Mosey Jr., of Altoona, Josephine and Donald Halfpenny Jr. of Altoona, Virginia and Daniel Bantel of Milford, Marguerite and Dewey R. Lavender Jr. of Dover, and Kathleen and Ronald Chism of Goodview, Va.; four sisters, Daisey McClean, Shirley Hawks, Sharon Cochran, Ellen Towsley; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. today at the Torbert Funeral Chapel in Dover, where friends may call on hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden.

Elwood J. 'Woody' Hitchens, 76
GEORGETOWN - Elwood J. 'Woody' Hitchens of Georgetown, died of respiratory failure, Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at the Millsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Millsboro. He was 76.
Mr. Hitchens was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Samuel P. and Florence D. West Hitchens.
He had been a heavy equipment operator for M.L. Joseph Construction Co. in Georgetown for 40 years, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Hitchens was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Elwood J. Hitchens Jr.
He is survived by a son, Jeffery D. Hitchens of Millsboro; a stepson, Joseph A. Moore Jr., of Millsboro; a stepdaughter, Diane M. Short of Millsboro; a sister, Gladys M. Shoemaker of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Joe Moore, Joey Moore, Marc and Dean Short; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., in Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in the Hebron Church Cemetery in Georgetown.
Tyler Lee Folke, 37
GEORGETOWN - Tyler Lee Folke of Georgetown, died of Kidney Cancer, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at Beebe Medical Center. He was 37.
Mr. Folke was born in Milford, the son of Lowell G. and Clarica 'Chris' Anderson Folke of Milford.
Including his parents, he is survived by a son, Lee R. Folke of Milford; a sister, Peggy V. Holleger of Georgetown; two brothers, John K. Folke of Harrington, and Michael H. Folke of Milford; a companion, Lisa Hammond of Georgetown; and a foster sister, Nanette Harold of Rehoboth.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.

DOVER - Betty Elizabeth Sutton of Dover, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, in Dover. She was 69.
Mrs. Sutton was born in 1929, in Easton, Md., the daughter of the late Charles E. Green Sr., and Margaret Dobson of Easton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sutton, and a brother, Charles E. Green Jr.
Including her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Doris Ann Fisher; four sisters, Sadie Rederon, Virginia Mij, Frances Cooper and Shirley Cooper; a brother, Robert Nixon, all of Easton; her niece and nephew with whom she lived, Arnita Robinson and Cornelius Robinson, both of Dover; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
