Frances F. Ellingsworth, 73

CLAYTON - Frances F. Ellingsworth of Clayton died Friday April 3, 1998, in her home. She was 73.

Mrs. Ellingsworth was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Ellingsworth Sr., in 1995.

She is survived by a son, Robert C. Ellingsworth Jr. of New Castle; two daughters, Bonnie Cherricks and Mary Ann Ellingsworth, both of Clayton; a brother, John W. Jester Jr. of Laurel; two sisters, Betty Poore of Georgetown and Florence Hughes of Laurel; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, Bradford & Reed Streets, Dover, and at 1:15 p.m. Monday at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, New Castle.

Burial will follow.

Flowers may be sent or the family suggests contributions be made in Mrs. Ellingsworth's memory to Delaware Hospice, Central Division, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Rosalie A. Micale, 74

DOVER - Rosalie A. Micale of Dover died of complications following a stroke, Friday, April 3, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. She was 74.

Mrs. Micale was born in 1924, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of the late Andrew and Antonia Cheripka.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church; she was an avid dancer, belonging to the Dover Ballroom Dance Club and the Levi and Lace Square Dance Club.

Mrs. Micale loved traveling, especially to religious sites, gardening, knitting and crafts of all kinds.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank Micale Sr.; two sons, Frank Micale Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Wilmington, and Thomas A. Micale, and his wife, Kathy L., of Dover; and three grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Micale of Wilmington and Nicholas Micale of Dover.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, South State Street, Dover.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, Bradford & Reed Streets, Dover, where a rosary will be recited.

Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to American Heart Association, Kent County Division, P.O. Box 1977, Dover, DE 19903-1977.

Linda Rohleder Prettyman, 56

GREENWOOD - Linda Rohleder Prettyman of Greenwood died of cancer Thursday, April 2, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center. She was 56.

Mrs. Prettyman was born in 1942, in Salina, Kan., the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Hartley.

She farmed with her husband until her illness.

Mrs. Prettyman was a devoted mother and a member of Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville.

She is survived by her husband, Craig; one son, Andrew Scot Rohleder of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Shannyn Eskridge of Laurel, Beth Rohleder of Seaford and Sarah Rohleder of Lewes; one sister, Rosemary Pyle of Wichita, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Union United Methodist Church, Laws & Market Street, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Lester R. Minner Sr., 71

HARRINGTON - Lester R. Minner Sr. of Harrington died Thursday, April 2, 1998, in his home. He was 71.

Mr. Minner was born in Harrington.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Minner worked for Delmarva Power and Light Co. for 35 years.

He was a Dale Earnhart fan and loved to watch his NASCAR races. He enjoyed his garden and took great pride in his yard. He was an avid John Wayne fan and had all of the movies Mr. Wayne ever made.

Mr. Minner was a lifetime member of Harrington Fire Co., Station 50, serving over 50 years. He also was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, Lester Minner Jr. of Georgetown and Donald Minner, and his wife, Jeannette, of Harrington; two daughters, Libby Butler, and her husband, David, of Harrington, and Ruth Morris, and her husband, Tom, of Felton; and seven grandchildren, Chris Minner, Dawn Minner, Tammy Butler, Matthew Butler, Aaron Morris, Ryan Morris and Amber Minner.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

The Rev. Ted Wood will officiate.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, Kent County Chapter, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Harvey A. Gregg Jr., 70, Georgetown police chief

GEORGETOWN - Harvey A. Gregg Jr. of Georgetown died of a heart attack Saturday, April 4, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 70.

Mr. Gregg was born in Newark, the son of the late Harvey A. Sr. and Myrtle Dickerson Gregg.

He worked for the Newark Police Department from 1952-1960. In 1962, he joined the Georgetown Police Department, where he has served as the chief of police for the past 20 years.

Mr. Gregg was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; the Police Chief's Association; an honorary member of the Georgetown Fire Company; a former member of the Georgetown Lions Club, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Evelyn Rust Gregg; three daughters, Connie Lynn Ponce of Hershey, Pa., Julie A. McCabe and Michele Gregg Elliott, both of Millsboro; one sister, Carlyn E. Zent of Cape May, N.J., and six grandchildren.

Service, including full police honors, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Friends may also call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Rev. Palmer S. Clark will officiate.

Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Delaware Police Chief's Council Inc., 400 S. Queen St., Dover, DE 19904, or to the Delaware Heart Association, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Charles H. Warren, 82

MILFORD - Charles H. Warren of Milford died Saturday, April 4, 1998, in his home. He was 82.

Mr. Warren served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, Washington, in the 1930s.

He was employed as a meat cutter with the Acme Market in Milford for 38 years, where he acted as department manager for more than 30 years, retiring in 1978.

Mr. Warren was a member of Local 27 of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union; and Harrington Senior Center.

He enjoyed bowling and, also, boating and fishing in the Delaware Bay. He was an avid fan of the Milford Little League Softball and Pop Warner cheerleading squad and never missed any games in which his granddaughters participated.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary C. Warren, in 1965.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edna Mae Warren; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dale A. and Vaughn Morgan of Lincoln and Lynn M. and Scott Rathfon of Lincoln; four granddaughters, Michele L. Morgan, Kristin E. Morgan, Dana L. Rathfon and Jenna D. Rathfon, all of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lofland Funeral Home, Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.

Cleophas 'Clet' Mullen, 55

ELLENDALE - Cleophas 'Clet' Mullen of Ellendale died Thursday, April 2, 1998, in Baltimore. He was 55.

Mr. Mullen was born in Elizabeth City, N.C.

He was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mullen of Ellendale; nine sons, Cleophas, Shawn, Joseph, all of Ellendale, Jerome of Milford, Samuel of Georgetown, Marcus of Dover, Julius of Seaford, Cletus of Charlotte, N.C. and Thomas of Harrington; four daughters, Gloria, Judy, and Wanda, all of Ellendale, and Nicole of Dover; his father, Dennis Sr. of Ellendale; three brothers, Leslie of Ellendale, Alvin of Pikesville, Md., and Dennis Jr. of Greenwood; five sisters, Jean Spence of Columbia, Md., Clara Riley of Newark, N.J., Denise Harper of Lincoln, Deborah Thomas of Greenwood and Dynette Brooks of Dover; 20 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pentecostal Church of God, Greentop Road, Lincoln, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Arrangements by the Young's Funeral Homes, North Street, Milford.

Florence Oman Fedder, 73

BRIDGEVILLE - Florence Oman Fedder of Bridgeville died of cancer Friday, April 3, 1998, in the Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford. She was 73.

Mrs. Fedder was employed as a hospital worker with the Geisinger Hospital in Danville, Pa., retiring in 1982.

After her husband's death, she moved to Bridgeville to live with her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jr., in 1993.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia F. Rafail of Bridgeville; and seven grandchildren.

Service will be 8 p.m. Monday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, Laws Street, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in the Elan Memorial Park, near Bloomsburg, Pa.

The family suggests contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, South State Street, PO Box 7, Dover, DE 19903-0007

Harmon H. Turner, 92

SEAFORD - Harmon H. Turner of Seaford died of heart failure Friday, April 3, 1998, in the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was 92.

Mr. Turner was born in Concord.

He retired from Dupont in Seaford, in 1971.

Mr. Turner was a member of the John Wesley U.M. Church, the trustee board and the Methodist Men.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred C. Bacon Turner.

He is survived by a brother, Charles Turner of Seaford; a sister, Malinda Polk of Seaford; a stepdaughter, Helen Richards of Seaford; four step-grandchildren, Don Perkins of Bridgeville, Dennis Perkins of Willimantic, Conn., Sharita Perkins of Bear, Andrea Hilliard of Valrico, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at John Wesley U.M. Church, Seaford.

Friends may call, 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church.

Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.

Arrangements by the Young's Funeral Home, North Front Street, Seaford.

Pastor Jerry Marando, 77

ELLENDALE - Pastor Jerry Marando of Ellendale, died of heart failure Friday, April 3, 1998, in the Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 77.

Pastor Marando was born 1921, in Wilmington, the son of the late Gerard and Rose Marando.

He worked for DuPont at the Edgemore Plant from 1952 to 1977. He was the pastor of the Oakley Christian Fellowship Church in Oakley for 12 years. He also ministered in many of the local community churches and had a prison ministries at the Smyrna and Georgetown correctional institutions. He regularly attended different weekly prayer breakfasts.

Mr. Marando served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.

He moved to Ellendale about 20 years ago.

Mr. Marando's hobby and passion was serving the Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Roberta 'Nickie' Marando; a son, Scott Marando of Newark; two daughters, Jenene R. Ponte of Tonwsend and Renae Marando of Austin, Texas; a brother, Mike Marando of New Castle; two sisters, Rose Jarman of New Castle and Vi Bones of Wilmington; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, West Market Street in Greenwood, where friends may call one hour prior to service. A second service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel in New Castle, where friends may call after 1:15 p.m.

Burial will be in the Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

Flowers are accepted. The family also suggests contribution be made to the Pilgrim Chapel Building Fund, 4792 Milford-Harrington Road, Harrington.
