RIVERDALE - William J. Anderson Jr. of Riverdale, near Millsboro, and formerly of Wilmington, died of heart failure Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 52.
Mr. Anderson was born in Wilmington, the son of Mildred L. Anderson of Wilmington and the late William J. Anderson.
He was a lift truck mechanic, employed by Townsend's Inc. of Millsboro for the last 10 years.
He was a former member of Holloway Terrace Volunteer Fire Co. prior to his move to Sussex County.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lynn M. Anderson of Riverdale; a son, William J. Anderson III of Millsboro; a daughter, Christine A. Oliphant of Millsboro; two sisters, Carol L. Henry of Wilmington and Ina M. Grant of Millsboro; three grandchildren and nine nieces.
Service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road and Del. 24, Long Neck, where friends may call one half hour prior to the service. The Rev. Alan Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Barrett's Chapel Cemetery, near Frederica.

Estella B. Clifton, 83
LEWES - Estella B. Clifton of Lewes died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was 83.
Mrs. Clifton was born on March 9, 1915 in Lewes, the daughter of the late Harvey Baker and Lillie K. Lowe Baker.
She was an accountant; she formerly owned and operated with her husband Clifton's News Stand for 25 years until it burned in the great fire of Lewes.
Mrs. Clifton was a member of the Soroptomist Club and a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, 4th and Market, Lewes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Clifton, in 1979.
She is survived by a nephew, Fred Clifton of Lewes, a sister-in-law, Mabel Clifton of Bridgeville; and three cousins, William E. Lowe of Lewes, Lucy B. Durant of Lawton, Okla., and Jean L. Geary of Edgemont, Pa.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes. The Rev. Charles Moyer will officiate.

CHADDS FORD, Pa. - Thomas M. Platt III of Chadds Ford died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in his home. He was 21.
Mr. Platt was a self employed cable technician.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas M. Platt Jr. of Chester and Deborah Yeatman of Newark, Del.; his maternal grandparents, Vince Bartholf of Chadd's Ford and June Cole of Farmington, Del.; a brother, Jason Yeatman, and a half sister, Amanda Platt of Chester.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn, Del.
Walter 'Izzy' Ronald Isaac Sr., 52
MADISON, Md. - Walter 'Izzy' Ronald Isaac of Madison died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at his daughter's home, Centreville. He was 52.
Mr. Isaac was born July 30, 1946 in Baltimore, the son of the late Walter and Dorothy Isaac.
He graduated from Glen Burnie High School, the class of 1965.
Mr. Isaac began his career with the Anne Arundel Fire Co. volunteer when he was 16. He worked full time in Lithicuim (sp?) for Company 32. He retired after 30 years of service to the community, he than pursued a career as a waterman on the 'Carrie Ellen' as 1st Mate. He worked for High Tech Plastic in Cambridge in 1997.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Cambridge.
He is survived by two sons, Walter Ronald Isaac Jr. of Hanover and Travis Hobert Isaac of Pasadena; three daughters. Lisa E. Konrad of Centreville, Heather May Isaac of Glen Burnie and Melody Kriewald of Pasadena; and four grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Centreville, where friends may call 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Churchyard, Cambridge, Maryland.

DENTON, Md. - J. Raughley Wyatt of Denton died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He was 78.
Mr. Wyatt was born in Caroline County, the son of the late Thomas H. Wyatt and Hester L. Raughley Wyatt.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II
He was a farmer and also worked as a welder for E.I. DuPont, Seaford, Del., retiring in 1976 after 37 years.
Mr. Wyatt was a member of the Greensboro VFW Memorial Post 7937 and the Caroline American Legion Post 29.
He is survived by a brother, W. Burnley Wyatt of Federalsburg; a sister, Marianne W. Schaub of Salisbury; and six nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

James W, Johnson, 82
NEW CASTLE - James W. Johnson of New Castle died of cancer Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in his home. He was 82.
Mr. Johnson attended Brownsville School in Vernon, and Denton School in Denton, Md.
He worked for Concord Volkswagen Inc. as a mechanic for 20 years retiring Feb. 14, 1980.
He was on the deacon board, a member of church choir and male choir; and enjoyed fishing, photography and gardening.
Mr. Johnson was a member of John Wesley M.E. Church, Harrington M.E Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church of Wilmington, and Friendship Baptist Church of Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret R. Johnson on Dec. 8, 1985
He is survived by a son, Anthony Tyrone Collick of Harrington; a daughter, Sheila B. Lucas of Wilmington and a brother, William Frank Johnson of Harrington.
Service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

William J. H. Twilley, 87
WYOMING - William J. H. Twilley of Wyoming died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in his home. He was 87.
Mr. Twilley was born on Aug. 4, 1911, the son of the late Lyda Downes and Bailey T. Twilley.
He was a retired operator engineer. He helped in the building of the Old St. Georges Bridge, Getty Oil refinery and Millsboro Power Plant, in the expansion of Dupont Co. and numerous other projects for Tri-State area. He had over 50 years of service, also farming in the greater Dover area.
He enjoyed woodworking and watching baseball on television.
Mr. Twilley was a member of IUOE Local 542 of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Swift in 1983; a brother, Harry A. Twilley; and a sister, Madeline Ivory.
He is survived by two sons, William R. Twilley and Donald Twilley, both of Wyoming; two brothers, Jake Twilley of Hartly and Richard Twilley of Magnolia; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ron Wuest will officiate.

MILTON - Kathryn A. Betts of Milton died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, in Lewes Convalescent Center, Lewes. She was 71.
Mrs. Betts was a homemaker.
She enjoyed bingo and dancing.
Mrs. Betts was preceded in death by her husband, Gove Betts in 1988, and a sister, Mary Chadduck in 1998.
She is survived by a daughter, Roberta 'Bobbie Ann' Betts of Ellendale; a brother, Henry Banks of Maryland; and a granddaughter, Heidi Hurd.

MILLSBORO - Robert N. Draine of Millsboro died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 84.
Mr. Draine was born in Lewes, the son of the late Nelson and Margaret Morris Draine.
He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Mr. Draine was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church, Millsboro.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice M. Harmon Draine, in 1992.
He is survived by two sons, Chauncey S. Draine of Millsboro and Robert G. Draine Sr. of Baltimore; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Harmony United Methodist Church, Del. 24, east of Millsboro. The Rev. Victor Harrison will officiate.
