GEORGETOWN - Robert B. 'Butch' Curtis Jr. of Georgetown, formerly of Lewes died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 54.
Mr. Curtis was born in Lewes, the son of the late Robert H. Sr. and Helen Kerr Curtis.
He is survived by a sister, Debra C. Short of Westerville, Ohio; a niece, Abby Short and a nephew, Matthew Short.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Robert A. Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
John C. Tull, 57
DOVER - John C. Tull of Dover died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, in Kent General Hospital. He was 57.
Mr. Tull was born on July 16, 1941, in Lewes, the son of Edna Dickerson Tull and the late Calvin Tull.
He graduated from Seaford High School.
Mr. Tull retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. in February 1993 after 27 years of service. He also worked for at Proctor & Gamble in Dover through Olsteins Temporary Service until October 1998.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He attended the Calvary Assembly of God in Dover. He enjoyed Clowning, Model Airplanes and Slot Car Racing.
John, 'Pop,' 'Paw Paw,' was known wherever he went. He was 'Pop' to so many young and older adults. John was known to dozens of children in the neighborhood as ' Paw Paw' and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and all their friends. John had given his heart to the Lord and was baptized in the fall of 1998. Pop was always there when anyone needed him. Everyone that met Pop remembered him and he will be missed by everyone that he touched throughout his lifetime.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Deneumouster and her husband Ralph of Dover, Cathy Taylor and her husband Mike of Magnolia; a brother, William Tull and his wife Ruth of Laurel; three grandchildren Michael Taylor Jr. 'Mighty Mike', Amber Lee Taylor 'Little Lou' and Tabitha Deneumoustier 'Tabo'; a niece, Susan Collins; and a nephew, Michael Tull.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Rick S.R. Eckeard, 49
FELTON - Rick S.R. Eckeard of Felton died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, in his home. He was 49.
Mr Eckeard was the son of Mary Anna Herschberger Puskar of Felton and the late Noble Samuel Eckeard.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1969
Mr. Eckeard was a welder.
He enjoyed photography.
Mr Eckeard was a member of the Felton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters, Donna M. Johes of Camden, Thelma G.P. Perkins of Magnolia, Teea L. Silverio of Iowa and Tammi G. Shivers of Dover; and a brother, Barry D. Eckeard of Little Creek.
Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Trader Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.

Helen Karlich, 81
SEAFORD - Helen Karlich of Seaford, formerly of Hoboken, N.J., died of heart disease, Tuesday, March 17, 1998, in the Millsboro Nursing & Rehabilation Center. She was 81.
Mrs. Karlich was born in Yugoslavia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Flora Plavsha Buzancich.
She was a cook at the Hotel Firrel in Split, Yugoslavia, before moving to the United States in 1958.
Mrs. Karlich was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hoboken, and a member of the Laurel Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marko Radja, in 1940 and her second husband, Frank Karlich in 1963.
She is survived by one son, with whom she lived, Stephan Radja of Seaford; one sister, Mary Martich of Yugoslavia; one granddaughter, Marina Rittenhouse, and one great-granddaughter, Selina Rose Rittenhouse, both of Kunkletown, Pa.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Blades, where Father Patrick Premonte will officiate.

Mamie K. Timmons, 82
HARTLY - Mamie K. Timmons of Hartly died of complications from cancer, Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in the Capital Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Timmons was born in Bowers Beach, the daughter of the late Harry T. and Jennie L. Young.
She retired from Playtex in 1978.
Mrs. Timmons was a life member of the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary; a life member of the Bowers Ladies Auxiliary, and a past member of the Magnolia Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a faithful attendee to the Mamie A. Warren Senior Center in Kenton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David 'Toby' Timmons in 1976.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Louise Stafford and Fred Stafford of Preston, Md., and another daughter and son-in-law, Barbara T. Metheny and J. Allen Metheny Sr. of Hartly; seven grandchildren, Carol Clough of Dover, Paul Collins Jr. of Milton, Debbie Sipple of Dover, David Collins of Felton, Kathy Collins of Dover, Jamie Metheny of Smyrna, and Tara Lynn Metheny of Hartly; five great-grandchildren; four step-granddaughters, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Service will be at noon, Monday at Trader's Funeral Home, Lotus Street, Dover, where friends may call 7-p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.

Alice L. Marvel, 65
MILTON - Alice L. Marvel of Milton died of heart failure, Thursday, March 19, 1998, in her home. She was 65.
Mrs. Marvel was a graduate of the Georgetown High School Class of 1950 and attended Delaware Tech.
She was a retired dietician with the Cape Henlopen School District, after 27 years.
Mrs. Marvel was a member of Midway Assembly of God Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher's Helper for 44 years; served as a fellowship chairperson and was involved with Vacation Bible School. She was a past president of the Cape Henlopen School District School Dieticians and had received the Martha Bonar Scholarship Award for Food Service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Marvel, in 1989.
She is survived by three sons, Gary of Hedgesville, W.Va., Jay R. of Stockley, and George C. of Milton; one grandson, Zachary of North Carolina; and one brother, William Sammons of Ellendale.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
William 'Buddy' L. Thompson Sr., 66
TEMPLEVILLE, Md. - William 'Buddy' L. Thompson Sr. of Templeville died of natural causes, Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in his home. He was 66.
Mr. Thompson was born in 1931, in Barclay, son of the late Charles Bradford and Elsie Grush Thompson.
He was employed as a lineman for 41 years at the Choptank Electric Corp.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Coleman, in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Kenton Thompson; two sons, William L. Thompson Jr. of Woodside, and Michael Thompson of Marydel; one daughter, Donna Pearson of Barclay; one brother, Paul Thompson of Cochranville, Pa.; three grandchildren, and one step-grandchild.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md., where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Arnold Josh Burgess, 67
DOVER - Arnold Josh Burgess of Dover died of complications of leukemia, diabetes, and pneumonia, Tuesday, March 17, 1998, in the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere. He was 67.
Mr. Burgess was born in 1930, in Greer, S.C., son of the late Marie Howard and J.C. Burgess.
He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in February 1970 with over 21 years service.
Mr. Burgess enjoyed his retirement as an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gertrude R. Burgess; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Pam Burgess of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Mildred and brother-in-law, Vernon Searcy of Greer, and Ruth and brother-in-law, John Bagshaw of Greenville, S.C.; several grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Edith L. Meekins, 52
SMYRNA - Edith L. Meekins of Smyrna, died in her home, Friday, March 20, 1998. She was 52.
Ms. Meekins was born in 1945, in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of the late Jessie and Maude Scrivens.
She attended Booker T. High School in Norfolk.
Ms. Meekins was employed as a security officer at Delaware State University for approximately 20 years.
She was dearly loved by friends and co-workers.
She is survived by one son, Jerome of Smyrna; two daughters, Jacqueline L. Mason of Portsmouth, Va., and Dierdre S. Evans of Dover; two sons-in-law, Charlie Mason of Portsmouth, and Willie Evans III of Dover; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Jessie Foster of Chesapeake, Va., Deloris Small of Norfolk, Almeda Scrivens of Philadelphia, Sophronia White of Norfolk, and one brother, Alphonso Scrivens of Norfolk, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Service will be at 1 p.m. today at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery, Dover.
Margaret P. Blizard Wilson, 69
DOVER - Margaret P. Blizard Wilson of Dover died of heart failure, Thursday, March 19, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. She was 69.
Mrs. Wilson was born in 1928, in Waltham, Mass., the daughter of the late Walter B. and Joan F. Blizard.
She attended the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Mass. She graduated from Duke University in Durham, N.C., in 1950 with a degree in English.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Singing Players, the Community Singers and the Friends of Old Dover.
She loved the Delaware beaches and was interested in the conservation of land and water and in the preservation of historic buildings, especially her beloved home 'Oharon.' She also enjoyed reading and playing the piano. She was very devoted to her family and will be remembered as a loving mother and a sunny face throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. William L. Wilson, in 1997.
She is survived by a son, William Laurence Wilson and his wife, Marian Kuzma of Tustin, Calif.; a daughter, Joanna C. Wilson of Dover; a brother Colin Robertson and his wife, Mary of Gilford, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Vickers of Morehead City, N.C.; a number of cousins in England and New Hampshire.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Torbert Funeral Chapel, Reed and Bradford streets, Dover.
Burial will be private.
