LEWES - Irene C. Fouraker of Lewes died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, in her home. She was 83.
Mrs. Fouraker was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Laurel, the daughter of the late Phillip F. Hall and Lucy E. Willen.
She was a homemaker.
Mr. Fouraker was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Steele, in 1957, and her second husband, Charles E. Fouraker, in 1982.
She is survived by a son, Albert M. Steele of Milford, a daughter, Peggy Lymaster, of Lewes, a stepson, Alvin Steele of Seaford, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to service. The Rev. Charles Moyer will preside.
Burial will be in Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.

Charles T. 'Bud' Arbogast, 85
DELMAR - Charles T. 'Bud' Arbogast of Delmar died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, in his daughter's home. He was 85.
Mr. Arbogast was born in Freemansburg, W.Va., the son of the late Prior W. and E. Malissa Arbogast.
He was a welder, retiring from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Joiners and Millwrights Local 2012 of Seaford. He had previously worked for C.C. Oliphant in Laurel as a welder.
Mr. Arbogast was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Laurel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances S. Arbogast, in 1992; and by a brother, Herman H. Arbogast.
He is survived by a son, Charles L. Arbogast of Delmar; two daughters, Jane A. Shaffer of Salisbury, Md., and Jeanne A. Blazejak of Delmar; three sisters, Surelia 'Sallie' Currey and Mary K. Sinclair, both of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Sylvia 'Tib' Gum of Weston, W.Va.; six granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Linda A. Calloway of Laurel; and several other nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, with the Rev. Ronald Parker and the Rev. Joel Beiler officiating.
Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Bethel.

Wayman L. Bryant, 70
HOUSTON - Wayman L. Bryant of Houston died of heart failure Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Capital Nursing Home, Dover. He was 70.
Mr. Bryant was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Centralia, Ill.
He had retired from military service with an honorable discharge at the rank of staff sergeant, and then, had worked at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, in Civil Service, as a cook, in aircraft maintenance on the line, and finally, as a butcher in the commissary.
Mr. Bryant was a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Ellendale, where he was a trustee, was on the cemetery committee and sang with 'Voice of Hope.' He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Hurst Bryant of Houston; four sons, John Bryant of Chicago, Wayne Bryant of Sacramento, Calif., Donald Bryant of Elizia, Ill., and Nathan K. Bryant of Ellendale; four stepchildren, Sheila Phifer of Alton, Ill., Teresa Harmon of Bear, Richard P. Harmon of Milford and Lisa M. Harmon of Eagan, Minn.; a brother, Dell Bryant of Detroit; two sisters, Remolia West of Chicago and Thelma Ferrell of Harbor City, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Della Hurst of Milton; two uncles, Buford Bryant of Centralia, Ill., and Charles Bryant of California; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Ellendale, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Bertha V. Kemp, 91
MILFORD - Bertha V. Kemp of Milford died of respiratory failure Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Kemp and her late husband, Roy B. Kemp Sr., owned and operated Kempie's Dry Cleaners on Carlisle Lane in Milford from 1938-1967, when Mr. Kemp retired. She then operated the business herself from 1968-1975.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Milford.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971.
She is survived by a son, Roy B. Kemp Jr. of Milford; three grandchildren, Margo K. Halton of Westfield, Mass., Roy B. Kemp III of Milford and Michael B. Kemp of Dover; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Lillie Mae Peterson, 94
MILFORD - Lillie Mae Peterson of Milford, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, in Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 94.
Mrs. Peterson worked for Modern Laundry in Milford for 35 years before retiring in 1960.
She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center, Milford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Peterson, in 1971.
She is survived by four daughters, Florence Hall of Wilmington, Pearl Breeding of Lincoln and Sallie Stratton and Lillie E. 'Winkie' Helmick, both of Milford; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, North Walnut Street, Milford.

Lamar W. 'Midge' Schrader, 89
NEWARK - Lamar W. 'Midge' Schrader of Newark, and formerly of Locust Dale, Pa., died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, in his daughter's residence in Dover. He was 89.
Mr. Schrader was born March 20, 1909, in Locust Dale, the son of the late William and Mary Schrader.
He was a coal miner for Reading Coal and Iron in Locust Dale for 40 years. Then, he worked for Haveg of the Marshallton area, manufacturing fiberglass underground-storage tanks, until retiring at age 65.
Mr. Schrader enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Phillies baseball fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Schrader, in 1967; and a daughter, Charlotte Wehry, who died earlier this year.
He is survived by a son, Lamar Schrader Jr. of Morrisville, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Lee Morgan of Dover; a sister, Hannah Horbach of Ashland, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, Minquadale, where friends may call 45 minutes before the service.

Howard Frank Kirsch Sr., 95
MILLSBORO - Howard Frank Kirsch Sr. of Millsboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, in Harrison House, Georgetown. He was 95.
Mr. Kirsch was born March 10, 1903, in Philadelphia.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II.
Mr. Kirsch was retired, having formerly worked in hosiery mills in Philadelphia, Milton and Lewes.
He worked with the Boy Scouts in Milton for 40 years, and also worked with the Sea Scouts in Runnemede, N.J.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mae Alice Kirsch of Millsboro; three sons, Howard Kirsch of Ellendale, William Kirsch of Edgewater, N.J., and David Kirsch of Belton, S.C.; a daughter, Linda Teer of Oaklyn, N.J.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Service and burial will be private.

Cora L. Lofland, 79
SEAFORD - Cora L. Lofland of Seaford Meadows, Seaford, died of kidney failure Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in Lifecare at Lofland Park, Seaford. She was 79.
Mrs. Lofland was born in Exmore, Va., the daughter of the late Jeffrey and Mary Hardy Stamp.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Lofland was a member of St. Matthew's Baptist Church, Bishopville, Md., where she was an assistant mother of the church, a missionary and a deaconess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Lofland, in 1984.
She is survived by two sons, Milton Lofland of Trenton, N.J., and Carlton Lofland of Kingston, N.J.; seven daughters, Jessie Turnage of Seaford, Mary Robinson of Laurel, Willa Lofland of Bridgeville, Cora Lee Lofland of Dover, Frances Lofland of Felton, Virginia Morris of Freehold, N.J., and Katie Edwards of Camden, N.J.; 31 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Baptist Church, Morris Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Louise Williams, pastor, officiating.
