HARRINGTON - Marie M. Hammond of Harrington died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 69.
Mrs. Hammond was the daughter of the late Clarence Collins and Lena Collins.
She was a very loving tender person, who always kissed you when she met you and kissed you again when she said goodbye.
Mrs. Hammond was an avid horticulturist and loved tending flowers.
She was very creative in making different crafts.
She loved to listen to gospel tapes.
Mrs. Hammond attended the Milford Church of God.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Davis, in 1994; a brother, Paul Collins, in 1997; and a daughter, Linda Satterfield, in 1998.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Norris 'Babe' Hammond of Harrington; a son, Frederick Smart of Laurel; six daughters, Ruth Ward, Doris Arbogast, and Blanche Ward, all of Delmar, and Nancy L. Ward of Salisbury, Nettie Mae Kemp of Henderson, Md., and Katherine Lynch of Denton, Md.; four sisters, Louise Ash and Hilda Lane, both of Camden, and Catherine Newton of Sharptown, Md., and Emily Bland of Harrington; two brothers, Alton Collins and Ralph Collins, both of Harrington; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Melvin Funeral Home in Harrington, where friends may call from 7-9 tonight.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

John W. Morrison, 80
MILLVILLE - John W. Morrison, of Millville, and formerly of Lancaster and Easton, Pa., died of cancer Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in his home. He was 80.
Mr. Morrison was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Winfield Morrison and Sallie Morrison.
He entered into a four-year tool-and-die apprenticeship with Armstrong Cork Co. after graduating from high school.
He also completed a five-year course in mechanical engineering, in 1943.
Mr. Morrison was employed by Turbo Machine Co., where he was instrumental in developing the machinery capable of mass producing mono-filament nylon into all the various products made of nylon that we enjoy today.
He also helped engineer products for air conditioning equipment and vending machines.
He later became involved in heavy steel fabrication which went into pre-stressed concrete bridge construction used on superhighways.
Mr. Morrison retired from the Victaulic Company of America, which produces large and small piping systems as well as many other products, in 1980.
He was past president of the Greater Lancaster Society of Tool Engineers, a former treasurer of the Lord Baltimore Lions Club and a past president of the trustees and chairman of the Building Committee at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View.
Mr. Morrison was a 25-year-plus member of the Rajah Temple Shriners; a member of Dallas Masonic Lodge 396 of Easton, Pa.; a member of Easton Royal Arch Chapter 173; a member of the Pomp Council 20 Royal and Select Masters of Easton; and a member of the Hugh DePayens Commandery 19 of Easton.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruth Morrison of Millville; two sons, John Morrison of Houston, Texas, and Ronald Herzog of Lancaster; a daughter, Vicki Husk of Pennsburg, Pa.; a brother, Ted Morrison of Zellwood, Fla.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, where the Rev. Joseph Burris will officiate.
Burial will be private.

John L. 'J.C.' Campbell Jr., 46
MAYTOWN, Pa. - John L. 'J.C.' Campbell Jr., of Maytown, and of Lewes, Del., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in his home. He was 46.
Mr. Campbell was born in Fort Campbell, Ky., the son of Patricia Horn O'Conner and the late John L. Campbell Sr.
He was a graduate of McCaskey High School.
Mr. Campbell was a supervisor of the truss department at J.C. Snavely & Sons Inc., Landisville.
He enjoyed motorcycles, boating and fishing.
Mr. Campbell was a member of Chickies Rock Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mindy Styer-Campbell of Maytown; two sons, John L. Campbell III, of Mount Joy, and Steven W. Campbell, of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Sherry L. Slesser and her husband, Maurice A., both of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, J. Neal Fulkerson and Eric C. Fulkerson, both at home; two grandchildren; his mother, Patricia Horn O'Conner of Conestoga; a stepfather, Torn O'Conner of Conestoga; a brother, Gary L. Campbell of Mount Joy; and a sister, Deb Rulka of Elizabethtown.
Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Heilig Funeral Home in Mount Joy, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Rozena Adamson, 57
SEAFORD - Rozena Adamson, of Seaford, died of heart failure Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in Christiana Hospital. She was 57.
Mrs. Adamson was born in 1941, in Camden, S.C.
She was a domestic worker.
Mrs. Adamson was a member of the Refuge Temple, where she served on the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Adamson.
She is survived by three sons, John Adamson, Danny Adamson, and Willie Adamson, all of Seaford; a daughter, Linda Harris, of Seaford; six grandchildren; a brother, Renny Flecker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six sisters, Lula Belle Pinkney, Marthena Flecker of Fort Lauderdale, Mary Lee Moore of Camden, Mamie Linton of Seaford, Johnny Mae Chambliss of Bridgeville, and Katherine Taylor of Wilmington; an uncle, Luther Flecker of Norfolk, Va.; two aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Refuge Temple, Seaford.

Araminta M. 'Minnie' Ogorek, 80
MILFORD - Araminta M. 'Minnie' Ogorek of Milford, and formerly of the Wilmington area, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. She was 80.
Mrs. Ogorek was born in 1918, in Carney's Point, N.J., the daughter of the late H.C. McKaig and Ermina McKaig.
She enjoyed sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Ogorek, in 1966.
She is survived by a sister, Beatrice Reese of Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Charles I. Nelson, 82
LONG NECK - Charles I. Nelson of Long Neck and formerly of Massapequa, N.Y., died of heart failure Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in his home. He was 82.
Mr. Nelson was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Carl Nilsen and Maren Torgeson.
He was a retired draftsman and mechanical engineer employed by Conn Edisn of New York before his retirement.
Mr. Nelson was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ethel M. Nelson; four daughters, Alice Bosch of Hornell, N.Y., Janet Thomas of Rosemont, Pa., Karen Nelson of Vashon Island, Washington, and Elaine Nelson of Boulder, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Service and burial will be private.

John J. Morehouse, 80
SMYRNA - John J. Morehouse of Smyrna died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. He was 80.
Mr. Morehouse was born in 1917, in Freedom, Pa., the son of the late Benjamin & Evelyn Morehouse.
He had been a truck driver with Eastern Express Trucking for 25 years.
Mr. Morehouse was a life member of the Bowers Fire Company.
He is survived by three sons, Benjamin, Delbert and John Morehouse, all of Pennsylvania.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pastoral Care Chapel of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, 100 Sunnyside Drive, Smyrna.
Burial will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.

Gladys H. Crisp, 81
DOVER - Gladys H. Crisp of Dover died of respiratory failure Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in Westminster Village Health Center, Dover. She was 81.
Mrs. Crisp had been a laboratory technician with the duPont Company in Seaford for 17 years, retiring in 1970.
She was president of duPont Retirees Club and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary both in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Crisp in 1996.
She is survived by a son, Jerome L. Hickman of Dover; a daughter, Rosalie Hickman of Orlando, Fla.; her mother, Mattie E. Shirley of Lewes; two sisters, Mildred Turner of Dover and Carolyn Kasten of Ocean View; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKnatt Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St. in Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mona Lynn Casey, 25
LEWES - Mona Lynn Casey of Lewes died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. She was 25.
Ms. Casey was a student at Wesley College in Dover.
She enjoyed jewelry making and music.
Ms. Casey had been a member of the Lewes Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her mother, Loretta Moik of Philadelphia; her father and stepmother, Frank and Bunny Casey of Milton; a sister, Susan Casey of Philadelphia; paternal grandparents, Lemuel and Catherine Casey of Folcroft, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Anna and Joseph Quaiser of Philadelphia; and her fiance, Toby Allred of Lewes.
Service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lewes Presbyterian Church, Kings Highway in Lewes, where friends may call two hours prior to service.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Barbara P. Moon, 84
LEWES - Barbara P. Moon of Lewes died of heart failure Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in the Lewes Convalescent Center, Lewes. She was 84.
Mrs. Moon was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, a province of Canada.
She was a homemaker and donated her time to many charitable organizations.
During World War II, she was a translator for the French Naval Mission in Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Moon served for many years on the alter guild of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes. She was one of the first volunteers for Meals on Wheels serving the Lewes and Rehoboth area, participated in the Read Aloud Program for children, a local promoter for the American Cancer Society and a 30-year trustee for the Lewes Library, serving on the libraries building commission and books selections committee. She was also very active in the Sussex Gardener's of Lewes and Rehoboth area, and a member of the St. George's Episcopal Chapel of Angola.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, The Rev. Frank L. Moon; a son, Richard P. Moon of Holland Patent, N.Y.; a daughter, Katherine M. Hughes of Georgetown; and two granddaughters, Amy and Anna.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. George's Episcopal Chapel in Angola, where the Rev. James E. Manion will officiate.
Burial will be private, in St. Peter's Episcopal Cemetery on Pilottown Road, Lewes.
