MILFORD - Rhoda L. Timmons of Milford died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 72.
Mrs. Timmons worked at Reagan's Pharmacy for several years. She was also a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Raymond William Timmons Sr.; two sons, Raymond W. Timmons Jr. of Lansdale, Pa., Charles E. Timmons of Milford; seven sisters, Margaret Rauch of Williamsport, Pa., Dorothy Whitman of Security, Colo., Edith August of Audubon, N.J., Carol Lein of Adelphia, Md., Amy McNeil, Gladys Wycoff, both of Exeter, Pa., Sharon August of New Jersey; three brothers, Chester Dreyer of Blacksburg, Va., Harry Dreyer of Newark, and Charles Dreyer of Prospect Park, Pa.; a devoted sister-in-law, Pauline Sullivan of Milford; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Ralph W. Curtis Sr., 77
LEWES - Ralph W. Curtis Sr. of Lewes died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center. He was 77.
Mr. Curtis retired in 1985 after many years as a communication specialist for the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Curtis was a 32nd degree Mason and Past Master of the William L. Daniels Lodge, #269, Bergenfield, N.J., and the Knights Templers District of Columbia Branch. He was the secretary of the Lewes Lions Club, All Saints Episcopal Church, Rehoboth Beach, and the Brotherhood of St. Andrews. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Club, and was the chief trainer of instructors for the Defensive Driving Program for the state of Delaware and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenna E. Curtis, 1994.
He is survived by his wife Ellen L. Baird Curtis; a daughter, Kathleen A. Augustine of St. Leonard, Md.; four sons, Ralph W. Curtis Jr. of Norfolk, Mass., Richard K. Curtis of Denver, Thomas W. Curtis of Arnold, Md., Donald P. Curtis of Kalispell, Mont.; two stepdaughters, Lymda Miller of Woodbridge, Va., Patricia Shaughnessy of Toronto; and eight grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saint's Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes, where a Masonic service will be 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

William C. Collings, 42
VENTURA, Calif. - William C. Collings of Ventura and formerly of Wilmington died after being accidentally struck by a train when he was chasing his dog that he had been walking Monday, May 11, 1998, in Ventura. He was 42.
Mr. Collings was born in Wilmington, the son of W. Clifford Collings of Jacksonville, Fla., and Janal P. Brady of Millsboro.
He was a 1974 graduate of Concord High School and later attended the University of Delaware.
Mr. Collings was a carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a stepfather, Joseph J. Brady of Millsboro; a daughter, Heather A. Collings of Claymont; two sisters, Patricia M. Vilson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Julia B. Brady of Wilmington.
Service will be noon Saturday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. James Van Der will officiate.
Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro.

Clara Mae Parker, 49
LINCOLN - Clara Mae Parker of Lincoln died of cancer Monday, May 11, 1998, in her home. She was 49.
Ms. Parker was born in 1948 in Dawson, Ga.
She was a factory and domestic worker.
Ms. Parker was a member of Temple Faith in Ellendale and a member of the Usher Board.
She is survived by a son, Robert Parker of Atlantic City, N.J.; three daughters, Victoria Parker of Atlantic City, Tracy Parker, Tress Parker, both of Detroit; three sisters, Lizzie Mae Johnson of Shellman, Ga., Emma Reynolds of Atlantic City, Elizabeth Dukes of Ellendale; and seven grandchildren.
Service will be in Shellman.

Maurice P. Harrington, 79
HARRINGTON - Maurice P. Harrington died of respiratory failure Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 79.
Mr. Harrington was supervisor at Caulk-Dentspy, Milford for 40 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Harrington was a lifetime member of Harrington Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Delema A. Harrington; a daughter, Marsha P. Potenzano and her husband, Joseph of Lockport, Ill.; two granddaughters, Giavanna and Ashley Potenzano, both of Lockport.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McKnatt Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Newman Hicks, 79
HARRINGTON - Newman Hicks of Harrington died of cancer Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in his home. He was 79.
Mr. Hicks was born 1918 in Harrington, the son of the late Newman Hicks, Sr. and Gertrude Hicks.
He a driver for D & R Trailer Sales for 17 years, and later was a horse groomer for several local stables. He last worked for Tom Clarke Stables, near Felton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Claria Hicks, 1980.
He is survived by a son, Milton Benson and his wife Melinda Benson of Harrington, and two brother, Quinton Smith of Houston, Alfred Smith of Rosecroft, Md.; a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews and a close friend, Mable Harmon.
There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Monday in Williamsville Cemetery, near Houston.

Sherman L. Morrow, 81
SMYRNA - Sherman L. Morrow of Smyrna died Thursday, May 14, 1998 in Christiana Medical Center. He was 81.
Mr. Morrow was born in 1916 in Delaware City, the son of the late Herbert J. and Nellie Davidson Morrow.
He was a carpenter for Williams Construction Co., Newport, for two years and for Sun Ship Building Co. in Chester, Pa., for seven years. He later became a truck mechanic, working for Brockway Trucking for five years, Harold Singer for six years, and for Calotex in Middletown for 17 years.
Mr. Morrow was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by three sons, Wayne Morrow of Dover, Bruce Morrow of Lewes and Herbie Morrow of Rehoboth Beach; two daughters, Alice Marie Riley of Smyrna, Sherri Vornholt of Seymour, Ind.; two brothers, Raymond Morrow of Bear, Robert Morrow of Glasgow; a sister Mary Rothrock of Bath, Va.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St. Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn.
Eugene 'Gene' R. Schaer, 53
MILLSBORO - Eugene 'Gene' R. Schaer from Millsboro died of asphyxia and drowning due to a boating accident Sunday, May 10, 1998, in Indian River Bay near Millsboro. He was 53.
Mr. Schaer was born Aug. 17., 1944, in Oakland, Calif., the son of Raymond C. Schaer and Jacqueline Jones-Schaer of Torrington, Conn.
He worked was a manager for Southern New England Telephone.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, KaArin I. Schaer of Millsboro; three daughters, Roberta Lambert, Patricia Kenney, both of Torrington, and Christina Schaer of Chicago; three brothers, John Schaer of Watertown, Conn., Raymond Schaer Jr. of New Hartford, Conn., Kenneth Schaer of Torrington; and five grandchildren.
Service was held in Connecticut.

Donald F. Hoffman, 65
MILLVILLE - Donald F. Hoffman of Millville and formerly of Philadelphia died of respiratory failure Sunday, May 17, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 65.
Mr. Hoffman was a district manager for W.T. Grant and Caldor Department Stores until he retired, then worked for Seacoast Realty.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley M. Hoffman; two sons, William and Richard, Both of Edgewater, Md.; two daughters, Gail Lavene of Deltona, Fla., and Donna Miskin of Chardville; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at St. George's United Methodist Church, Clarksville. The Rev. Ruth Tull will officiate.
Burial will be private.

Albert Edward Sheldon, 78
DOVER - Albert Edward Sheldon of Dover died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 78.
Mr. Sheldon was born in West Union, W.Va., the son of the late Albert and Ethel Hodge Sheldon.
He graduated from Norristown (Pa.) High School in 1938.
Mr. Sheldon was employed by the Kraft Food Co. in the Philadelphia area and later worked for Sears in St. Davids, Pa.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Adjutant General Office Company.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church as an elder. He was also a member of Dover Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He also served in New Castle County Presbytery.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William F. Sheldon.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Louise Watson Sheldon of Dover; two sons, Donald Sheldon of Sewell, N.J., Richard Sheldon of Atlantic City, N.J.; two daughters, Barbara Wood of St. Davids, Linda Shaver of Chester, Pa.; a brother Ralph Sheldon of Norristown; and seven grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Dover Presbyterian Church, State and Reed streets, Dover.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover.
Burial will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
