BRIDGEVILLE - Dona Helen Mae Culver died of cancer Sunday, May 17, 1998, in her home. She was 55.
Mrs. Culver was born May 28, 1942, in Bridgeville, the son of the late Edward C. and Pearl Brown Adams.
She graduated from Bridgeville High School.
Mrs. Culver worked for the Delaware Department of Social Service, Georgetown, for 20 years until her health forced her to go on medical leave.
She was a member of Seaford Wesleyan Church, Seaford.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel B. Culver; two sons, Samuel J. Culver and his wife Jeanette Culver and Edward Jake Culver and his wife Sheila Culver all of Bridgeville; a half brother, Lawrence Wallace of Bridgeville; six grandsons and a granddaughter.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg, Md. The Rev. Dave Kiser will officiate.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bloomery Cemetery, Federalsburg.

Melvin 'Mel' Eddie Causey, 57
HOUSTON - Melvin 'Mel' Eddie Causey of Houston died of a stroke Friday, May 15, 1998 in Chronically Ill Hospital, Smyrna. He was 57.
Mr. Causey was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Greenwood.
He was a truck driver for George and Lynch.
Mr. Causey was a member of New Beginnings Church, Bridgeville.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Causey of Houston; two stepsons, Larry and Arthur Jackson, both of Ellendale; three daughters, Pearl Jackson of Millsboro, Grace Jackson of Camden, and Melvina Jackson of Fort Drum, N.Y.; two brothers, William Causey of Thompsonville and Robert Causey of New York; two sisters, Pearl Causey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sara Causey of Felton; a stepbrother, Melson Mathews of Smyrna; and eight grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young's Funeral Home, 309 North St., Milford, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Old Hickory Cemetery, Slaughter Neck.
Carol J. Wyatt, 56
GEORGETOWN - Carol J. Wyatt of Georgetown died Sunday, May 17, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 56.
Mrs. Wyatt was born in Matewan, W.Va., the daughter of the late Lewis Buck Ball and Macie Ball.
She worked for nine years at Superfresh, Rehoboth Beach, as an assistant bakery manager until she retired recently on disability.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard Allan Wyatt; two sons, Timothy Wyatt of Milford, Richard Wyatt of Dover; a daughter, Kimberly Givens of Georgetown; four brothers, Lewis Ball, Harold Ball, both of Georgetown, Thomas Ball of Morganton, N.C., Jerry Ball of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mabel Watkins of Wilmington, Emma Sesco of Morganton; four grandchildren, Megan Wyatt of Seaford, J.C. Givens, Andrew Givens, and Josh Givens, all of Georgetown.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium-Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bradford St., Georgetown.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Harbeson Cemetery, Harbeson.

Eleanor 'Nan' Fremont, 87
MIDDLETOWN - Eleanor 'Nan' Fremont of Middletown and formerly of Newark died Sunday, May 17, 1998, in her granddaughter's home. She was 87.
Mrs. Fremont retired from the University of Delaware where she worked in the biological sciences department.
She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Newark, and was involved with many of the church functions. The social hall at the church was named after her husband, for their dedication and contributions to St. John.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Fremont, 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Shrum of Bear; a sister, Bettie Bayagich of Michigan; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Johns Catholic Church, Main Street, Newark, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, near Detroit.

Quinton C. Marsh, 79
DOVER - Quinton C. Marsh of Dover died Monday, May 18, 1998 in Kent General Hospital. He was 79.
Mr. Marsh was born Feb. 3, 1919, in Onancock, Va. the son of the late Gordan and Lena Marsh.
He served in the U.S. Army as master parachutist for 24 years, retiring as a command sergeant major. After retiring he worked for civil service in the Army Reserves and helped set up training exercises at Wesley College. He taught at St. Johns College High School near Washington for two years.
Mr. Marsh was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dover, a member of Dover Lions, where he received the recognition of being a Melvin Jones Fellow. He also did volunteer work at Dover Air Force Base in the hospital and the dentistry department.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Doris Byrd Marsh; a son, Q. Coles Marsh of Annapolis, Md.; a daughter, Ann Byrd Duckworth of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, C.D. March of Onancock, Va.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, Bradford and Reed streets, Dover.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Michele 'Shelly' Ann Lilly, 34
HARRINGTON - Michele 'Shelly' Ann Lilly of Harrington died Saturday, May 16, 1998, while sleeping in her home. She was 34.
Mrs. Lilly was born Jan. 15, 1964, Chester, Pa., the daughter of Mary Lopchinsky of Mohnton, Pa., and the Rev. Richard Clifford Sr. of Coatesville, Pa.
She was a homemaker.
She loved the Lord and enjoyed studying her Bible and singing.
Mrs. Lilly was an active member of Harrington Baptist Church. She was involved with missions and was the former president of WOM. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of Community Bible Study, and at one time she was involved in their children's ministry.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of eight years, Bradley C.; three children, Pamela M. Fox, Thomas L. Lilly, and Daniel C. Lilly, all at home; two sisters, Rose Marie Ford, Christine Parker, both of Mohnton, Pa.; and her father and mother-in-law, William and Sudie Lilly of Milford.
Service will be noon Wednesday at Harrington Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Elizabeth E. Walters, 91
BRIDGEVILLE - Elizabeth E. Walters of Bridgeville died of heart failure Friday, May 15, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Walters was born in 1907, in Bridgeville.
She was a domestic worker.
Mrs. Walters was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, where she was a communion steward and mother of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Walters in 1993.
She is survived by one son, James L. Walters of Bridgeville; two nieces, whom she raised, Estella Hopkins of Bridgeville and Mildred Hopkins of Greenwood; one sister, Estella Johnson of Bridgeton, N.J.; one sister-in-law, Martha Banks of Bridgeville; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, where friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Thursday.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Middleford.

Gordon H. 'Sandwich' Hurley, 76
LEESBURG, N.J. - Gordon H. 'Sandwich' Hurley of Leesburg, N.J. died of Alzheimer's Tuesday, April 28, 1998. He was 76.
Mr. Hurley was born in 1922, in Little Creek, the son of the late Norris and Ida Hurley.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He saw action at the Battle of the Bulge, fought throughout Europe and served in the occupation forces in Japan.
Mr. Hurley was an oysterman and fisherman in Little Creek until 1959. He retired from Wheaton General Machine in Millville. After his retirement, he was a house painter.
He is survived by a son, Roy A. Hurley of Leesburg; two daughters, Sandra Ruth Montemarano of Newfield, N.J. and Mary Kimura of Brigantine, N.J.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There was a private graveside service in the Leesburg Cemetery. A heartwarming eulogy was delivered by Anna May Hoffman.
The family suggests contributions be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

John M. Goode, 71
ELLENDALE - John M. Goode of Ellendale died Monday, May 18, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 71.
Mr. Goode was born in 1927, in Ducktown, Tenn., the son of the late Charles Goode and Lula Mealer.
He was a former machine worker at the Tool & Dye Company.
He is survived by his wife, Marion L. Pratt Goode of Ellendale; one son, George M. Goode of Milton; one daughter, Vicki L. Petrone of Ellendale, and four grandchildren.
Service and burial will be private.

Rosalie Dixon, 75
HOUSTON - Rosalie Dixon of Houston, formerly of Philadelphia, died of cancer Saturday, May 16, 1998, in her home. She was 75.
Mrs. Dixon was born in Greenville, N.C., the daughter of the late Mitchell and Carrie Brown Scott.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salisbury, Md.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Dixon of Houston; one son, Richard Calvin Scott of Minneapolis; three daughters, Carrie Ann Lewis and Theresa Ann Scott, both of Philadelphia, and Ava Patricia Burnett of Brandywine, Md.; two brothers, Clarence Scott and Ernest Scott, both of Philadelphia; three sisters, Ernestine Scott and Brenda Scott, both of Philadelphia, and Gwendolyn Reavis of Darby, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, corner of Delaware Avenue and Booth Street, Salisbury, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
The Rev. Lewis N. Watson will officiate.
There will be another service at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bethany Baptist Church, 58th Street and Warrington Avenue, Philadelphia, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
The Rev. Alpheus Bright will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenmont Cemetery, 4301 N. Front Street, Philadelphia.
