Mr. Clarke, son of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Clarke, 2013 Franklin Street, Wilmington, has accepted a call to become rector of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church at Terrace Park, Ohio.

Mr. Clarke was ordained in March of 1947. He is a graduate of Wilmington Friends School and attended Bucknell University. He received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., and his bachelor of divinity degree from the university’s School of Theology.

Townsend Trash Tax $2 a Month
The town council of Townsend last Tuesday night voted to assess each resident $2 a month, retroactive Jan. 1, for trash collection.

The council also voted unanimously to impose a $200 fine for anyone bringing trash into town for removal. “I think it’s absolutely disgusting and it’s been going on for years,” the mayor said. “With the rate we’re paying, we’ve got to stop it somewhere.”
According to the council, residents will be billed the assessment quarterly and small businesses also will be subjected to the tax.
