Mr. Harry Price has recovered from typhoid fever.
It is reported all work is suspended on Fort Delaware.
Mr. John T. Patterson spent Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Mrs. J. A. Vreeland returned to Philadelphia on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. William B. Jester are visiting his parents.
Mr. F. T. Eagle, of New Castle, was in town on Wednesday.
Mrs. Rupp entertained Rev. Mr. Cantwell, of Wilmington.
Miss Emma Choate, of Newark, Del., is the guest of Miss Pennington.
Miss Mattie Price is entertaining Miss Maurice Morris, of Philadelphia.
H. C. Clark is building another house at the rear of the M. E. Church.
Rev. L. A. Oates, of Chambersburg, Pa., is spending some time with friends in town.
Mrs. Andrew B. Mitchell, of Washington, D. C., made a brief visit in town this week.
Rev. and Mrs. J. Edwin Amos, of Washington, D. C., visited old friends in town this week.

Rev. Mr. Ely, of Columbia, Pa., was the guest of Dr. and Mrs. Belville, preached in the Presbyterian Church last Sunday.
Mrs. Julia Brewer, Mrs. Alexander Jarrell and Mrs. F. A. Pennington entertained Rev. and Mrs. J. Edwin Amos this week.
Dr. Fritz has opened his drug store and has improved the appearance of the exterior of the building by a liberal use of paint.

School Board Plans
Work at Townsend
The Board of Education of the Appoquinimink School District met on Tuesday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the district office, Odessa. The following were some of the highlights of the meeting.
A Certificate of Necessity was issued for renovations of the Townsend Elementary School. The board will be announcing, in the near future, the date of the referendum which is expected to be held during the month of October.
The New Castle County Parks & Recreation has requested facility usage for the school year 1976-77 for the fall and winter recreation program.
Executive Order No. 105, calling for a 1 percent budget cut was complied with by the Board of Education.
The bond issue was in order, all procedural steps were taken and the bonds were sold by the State of Delaware.
A letter was sent to all principals, from the Advisory Council, thanking them for holding new student orientation in their respective schools, thus preparing students for the change in school buildings.
The Appoquinimink Federation of Teachers has requested a continuance of the hearing with the State Board of Education.
The Appoquinimink School District will be participation in a National Endowment for the Arts program in cooperation with the Delaware State Arts Council. The district will be assigned an architect-in-residence to work with teachers and student for the 1976-77 school year.
