Mr. J. L. Dickerson is repainting his hotel property.
Mr. John Townsend is suffering with an abscess on his shoulder.
Mrs. William Dyett, of Clayton, spent Monday with Mrs. I. Pritchard.
Miss Lena Staats, of Middletown, spent Sunday with her parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whitehouse returned from their wedding tour on Thursday.
Mr. John Geary and family, of Atlantic City, are guests of Mr. Walter Money near town.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hart, of Philadelphia, were guests of Mr. G.M.D. Hart on Sunday.
Mrs. Nina Maloney and Miss Mary Money visited Miss Mamie Pierce, near Cecilton, this week.
The Ladies’ Aid Society of Townsend M.E. Church met on Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. J.A. Hart.
Mr. W.N. Watts and wife, and Mrs. W.H. Money spent Sunday with MR. William Evans, of Middletown.
The cement sidewalk placed around the property of Mr. Harry Deakyne on Main Street is completed and makes a great improvement.
Mrs. D.P. Hutchison and Rev. J.H. Beauchamp are attending the Epworth League convention in Cleveland, Ohio, this week.
Rev. F.F. Carpenter, who has recently returned from a trip to the Holly Land, will lecture on Wednesday evening, October 29th, on “The Ruins of Palestine.”
The Epworth League at Townsend was reorganized on last Sunday evening. Officers were elected as follows: Mr. M. B. Donovan, president; Prof. H. R. McCabe, 1st vice president; Mrs. D.P. Hutchison, 2nd vice president; Mrs. D.B. Jones, 3rd vice president; Mrs. Winfield Lattomus, 4th vice president; Mr. Joseph Jones, secretary and Mr. L.L. Maloney treasurer.
The Ladies’ Aid Society of the Union M.E. Church met on Wednesday evening at the home of B.W. Hutchison. Among those present were: Mr. W.N. Watts and wife, Mr. W.B. Weldon and wife, Mr. John Carpenter and wife, Mr. Thomas Townsend and wife, Mr. Jacob Spicer and wife, Mrs. C.A. Hutchison, Mr. William Smith, Miss Townsend, Mr. Stephen Keene and sister, Misses Anna Jones and Ruth Hutchison. After the business meeting refreshments were served and the evening was spent very pleasantly.

Misses Mary and Lizzie Glich were in Philadelphia Tuesday.
Dr. W.S. Hallett, of Wilmington was an over Sunday visitor in Odessa.
Miss Blackiston, of Middletown, spent Sunday with Mrs. Carrie Appleton.
The Ladies Aid Society was entertained by Mrs. Joseph H. Enos Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Eliza Appleton has returned from a visit to Mrs. Ophelia George, of Camden, N.J.
Rev. John Snape, pastor of Delaware Avenue Baptist Church, Wilmington was in Odessa Tuesday.

Appleby – Hopkins Wedding
Miss Catherine K. Hopkins, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.K. Hopkins and Mr. C. Appleby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton D. Appleby of this town, were quietly married at eight o’clock last Saturday evening by Rev. E.W. McDowell at Eastlake M. E. Parsonage, Wilmington.
Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Appleby left for a short wedding trip and on their return they reside in Middletown.
Walker – Hobbs Wedding
Mr. Rowland G. Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walker, of Boothwyn, Pa., and Miss Esther W. Hobbs, daughter of Mr. William Whitlock, of this town were united in married last Saturday evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W.E. Matthews, of Smyrna. The couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence V. Cannon.
The bride has been an employee of the Transcript for several years, and in the near future the newlyweds will take their residence in Boothwyn.

Miss Zida Bowdel, of Wilmington, was the weekend guest of guest of Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Reynolds.
Mrs. Lola Gibbons, of Townsend, visited Mr. and Mrs. William Watson Jr. on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Taylor, of Ocean City New Jersey, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ferguson this week.
