Mrs. Laura Denney spent last Monday in New Castle and Wilmington.

Mrs. Russal Eaton and sister Amelia spent Tuesday in Delaware City.

Mrs. Ciara Hale and sister Mrs. Joseph Roemer spent last Friday in Wilmington.

Mrs. Bessie Wilson, of New Castle, spent part of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Denney.

Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Webb, of Ridley Park, spent a few days with their parents Mr. and Mrs. George Webb.

Mrs. Addie Armstrong, of Delaware City, spent part of this week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Bendler.

Mr. Frank Hickman and sons, Charles and Henry attended the funeral of William Hicks in Philadelphia, Pa., last Friday.

The Breakwater Co., of Philadelphia, Pa., who have been building the stone lutty as an improvement to the 35 foot channel have ceased operations until after the winter weather and have resumed work at Chester, Pa.

Mr. Eugene McCoy spent Tuesday last in Wilmington.

Mrs. Willard Spicer was a Philadelphia visitor on Monday.

Mrs. Joseph Helier visited friends in Newark this week.

Mrs. Mary Morgan and son Leslie were Wilmington visitors Tuesday.

Miss Marcela Keegan is spending some time with relatives in Elkton.

Mr. Elwood Dulin, Jr., was a Wilmington visitor Friday of last week.

Miss Alces Brown was a visitor in Germantown, Pa., several days last week.

Mrs. A.B. Berry has as her guest this week her sister Mrs. Smith of Cheswold.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Demerest, of Delance, N.J., visited relatives here part of last week.

Mrs. R.B. Stephenson, of Manasquan, N.J., spent last week with her sister Mrs. Wildard Spicer.

Mrs. John Heldmyer and Mrs. Joseph Heldmyer spent several days this week in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Martha Cattes, of Philadelphia, was an over Sunday visitor with her aunt Mrs. William Eccies.

Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Stevens have returned home after a stay of several weeks in Riverhead, N.J.

Miss Minnie Armstrong, of Newark, spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong.

The monthly business meeting of the Lades aid Society of St. Paul’s M.E. Church met on Wednesday evening of last week at the Church.

At a business meeting of the St. Paul’s M.E. Sunday School Association, it was decided to begin preparations for the usual Sunday School Christmas entertainment.

Miss Katie Carroli is visiting in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Mary A. Lifland returned to Philadelphia on Monday.

Mrs. P.E. Johns is visiting her father Mr. Walter, near Galena.

Misses Lillian and Leah Gin, of near Townsend, spent Sunday with Miss Josephine Gearner.

Preaching Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Christian Eadeavor at 7 p.m. All are cordially invited.

Mrs. R.B. Merritt and Misses Agues and Ethel Merrit spent several days the past week in Wilmington.

Mrs. Josephine Wilson is spending some time with her daughter Mrs. R.D. Aiken on Bohemia Manor.

Mrs. William Pierce spent the weekend with her daughter, Mrs. William Moffitt, Jr., and children, of New Castle, Delaware.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence V. Cannon and daughter, Rebecca, of Middle Neck, near town, spent a day recently with Mr. and Mrs. William Cannon near Wilmington.

Mr. and Mrs. George Ernest Rhodes, Sr., of Earleville, were dinner guests recently at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rhoades, Jr., near town.

Mrs. Minnie Bowman and son, Mr. Henry Bowman, of Haddonfield, N.J., and Mrs. Marie Vernon, of Philadelphia, spent a day recently with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence V. Cannon and family near town.

The annual Christmas party and business meeting of the aid Society will be held at the home of Mrs. Harold Stidham Friday evening of next week, the 19th. Each member is asked to bring a gift for exchange.

Church School at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, Warwick, Sunday at 10 a.m.; Christian Endeavor service 7 p.m.; evening worship and sermon by the pastor, Rev. Tilghman Smith, 7:30 o’clock. Church School at Rehoboth Methodist Church, Sassafras, 10 a.m.; morning worship and sermon by the pastor 11 o’clock. A cordial welcome to everyone at both churches.
