The public sale of Mr. Douglas Cochran ran on Tuesday was well attended, and the bidding quite spirited. All the stock brought good prices, and Mr. Cochran was well pleased.
The Eastern Telegraph-Telephone Co., with headquarters at Philadelphia, has a representative looking over the field with a view of extending its lines down the Delaware-Maryland peninsula.
Mrs. Kelley, of New York, will give a free lecture on the Consumers’ League in the New County Club room, on Friday, January 30th, at 7:30 o’clock. The public are cordially invited to attend.
We have received a copy of the Seventh Annual Report of the Board of trustees of the Delaware Hospital. The pamphlet is well filled with interesting information concerning the work of this institution; is handsomely illustrated, and contains about 100 pages.

Golden anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. George S. Reihm, of Deep Branch Farm near Middletown, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. A reception attended by approximately 100 guests was given in their honor by their sons and daughters-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Homer D. Reihm of Townsend, and Mr. and Mrs. George Clarence Reihm, of this town.
Mr. and Mrs. Reihm were married January 28th 1903 in Blackiston’s Methodist Church, near Clayton by the late Rev. George R. Ellis. Mrs. Reihm is the former Miss Margaret Davis, of near Clayton. Among the guests at the reception Sunday was Miss Kate Smithers, of Smyrna, maid of honor at the wedding.
The celebrants have three grandchildren. They have made their home in the Middletown area ever since their marriage.
The bride and groom of 50 years received many beautiful gifts from relatives and friends in honor of their anniversary.
