Born in Allentown, Pa., he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. Mr. Gregory was employed for many years as an electrician, and later taught electrical courses at Marple and Folcroft Vocational Schools in Pennsylvania.
After his teaching career, he was self-employed as a home improvement contractor. He enjoyed traveling in his RV with his family, and loved woodworking.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Nastase. Mr. Gregory is survived by his wife, Carol J. Gregory; a son, David L. Gregory and his wife Roian, of Dover; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Services and interment were private.
Arlene M. Gubitosi
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James; her sons, James Jr. and Anthony; and grandchildren Samantha and Tyler. She also leaves behinds two brothers, Kenneth and David. Arlene was loved and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
A funeral service was held Sept. 6 at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was private.
Carl P. Hurtt Sr.
Mr. Hurtt was born in Cecilton, Md., son of the late Alfred and Rosalie Hurtt. In 1964, Mr. Hurtt was appointed to the New Castle County EMS service, where he served 33 years as an Emergency Medical Technician on Tech 5 in Odessa. He retired in 1997. Mr. Hurtt was a member of the St. Paul s United Methodist Church and Odessa Fire Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Betty B. Hurtt, on Sept. 14, 1976. Mr. Hurtt is survived by two sons, Carl P. Hurtt Jr., and Richard K. Hurtt; one daughter, Judith H. Buckworth; one brother, George Hurtt; two sisters, Pauline Boone, and Sara Blackston, and sister-in-law, Myrtle Hurtt; five grandchildren, Shelly Hurtt, Carl Hurtt III, Christopher Banning, Katrina Hurtt-Jordan, Amber Pawlowski; and seven great-grandchildren, Seth Hurtt, Ashley Mead, Alec Jordan, Hunter Anderson, Jenna Anderson, Cole Jordan and Madilyn Hurtt.
Services were held privately. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Carole B. Kilpatrick
She was born in Wilmington and lived in Port Orange since 1995, coming from Lewes. She graduated from Padua Academy, Wilmington, and went to Salisbury State, where she received her degree as an X-ray technician. Mrs. Kilpatrick went to work for Beebe Hospital, Lewes and later became the head of the X-ray department. In Florida, she was the X-ray technician for the Orthopedic Clinic of Daytona Beach. She also helped in the family business, Port Orange Florist. Mrs. Kilpatrick was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Philip Sr.; her brother, Jeff Whitlock, of Port Orange, Fla.; and two sisters, Barbara Crosby and Susan Bennett, both of Port Orange. She will be dearly missed and was loved by all.

William C. Lee
Mr. Lee retired in 1979 after working with Chrysler Corporation for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary L. Lee, in 2005, and a grandson, Larry W. Lee, in 1994. He is survived by two sons, William K. Lee and his wife Carolyn, of Middletown, and Danny R. Lee and his wife Susan, of Townsend; two sisters, Audrey Shelton, of Michigan, and Dorothy Parkston, of Illinois; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hoffman, John Winnington, Danielle Lee and LeeAnn Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Lee and Gianna Winnington.
Funeral services were Sept. 6 at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was in Townsend Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Mr. Lee s memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Richard C. Tulowitzki Sr.
Mr. Tulowitzki was born in Wilmington on March 22, 1936, a son of the late Frederick Tulowitzki and Edith C. Bowman Barker. He began his career as a tile setter for Pete George and later became a professional painter with Painters Local No. 100 in Elsmere. For 14 years in the 1960s and 1970s, he owned and operated Dick s Arco Service Station on North Dupont Parkway near Minquadale.
Active in his community, Mr. Tulowitzki was a dedicated Life Member of the Minquadale Fire Company, serving for 41 years, and also served on the De La Warr District School Board from 1966 to 1973. He was also a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, New Castle Moose Lodge No. 1578 and the National Rifle Association. An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, Mr. Tulowitzki especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Tulowitzki; and a grandson, James Walker. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne Adams Tulowitzki; four children, Debra Jones and her husband Tom, of Clermont, Fla., Donna Marine, of Enumclaw, Wash., Richard C. Tulowitzki Jr. and his wife Shelly, of New Castle, and Dawn Walker and her husband Jack, of Middletown; two brothers, Harold Barker, of New Castle, and Fred Tulowitzki, of New York City, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Spicer-Mullikin Home, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Parkway, New Castle.

Charles I. Jackson
Charles was born in Newark to the late Willis A. and Elizabeth D. Burns Jackson. Charles attended Newark High School and was the superintendent of drainage for New Castle County before retiring in June 2000. He then worked part-time for the Conservation District of the State of Delaware. He loved his animals.
Charles is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dolores M. Newton; daughter, Deborah L. Dennany and her husband Dr. R.L. III, of Brazil, Ind.; son, James C. Petie Kindbeiter and his wife Joyce, of Middletown; a sister, Sally E. Jackson, of New Castle; two brothers, Willis A. Jackson and his wife Elaine, of Leipsic, and David A. Jackson and his wife Sharon, of Middletown; two granddaughters, Kelly and April; and several nephews.
Charles Life Celebration was held Aug. 28 at the Beeson Funeral Home, Newark. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery Aug. 29.
Edward R. Hill
Ed was born to George and Alice Laughhead Hill. Raised in Linwood, he attended Linwood Elementary and Garnet Valley High School, Class of 1972. He worked many years for family businesses in Delaware County. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and driving his Corvette. He enjoyed his family.
He was the son of the late Alice Laughhead Hill, who died in 1963 and the brother of the late Nevin Hill, who died in 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Diane Murphy Hill; three brothers, George N. Hill Jr. of Boothwyn, Pa., Spencer V. Hill, of Indiana, and Duane Hill, of Middletown; one sister, Darlene Hentes, of York, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; and George N. Hill Sr. and his wife Bettyanne, of Boothwyn, Pa.
His funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Frances G. Dean
Mrs. Dean was a registered nurse at the Wilmington Medical Center, retiring after 23 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail D. Payne and her husband Robert H., of Middletown; two sons, Roger Bowman and his wife Sharon, and Keith Bowman and his wife Merri; one sister, Elizabeth Stewart of Wilmington; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held Aug. 31, at Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Lucille S. Parker
Mrs. Parker was born on Independence Day, July 4, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Schneider. A U.S. Army veteran, she was stationed at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC during World War II. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life and also enjoyed a 45-year career as an Avon representative. Mrs. Parker was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and of Stahl Post No. 30, American Legion, both in New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Parker; and a sister, Gertrude Stephen. She is survived by her son, Richard W. Parker and his wife Dorothy, of Middletown; her son, Paul A. Parker and his wife Donna, and his stepdaughter, Heather, of New Castle; her grandson, Richard G. Parker and his wife Beth, and great-granddaughter, Meredith; and her sister, Helen Rybicki.
Services were held Sept. 1 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, New Castle. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, New Castle. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Stephen A. Salerno
Mr. Salerno was born in Sharon Hill, Pa., and was a graduate of St. James High School for Boys, Class of 1955, where he was a member of the 1953 championship football team. He began his career as a driver for Coca Cola in the 1960s and later drove for Carey Limo Service. Ten years ago, he started Salerno Sedan Services, which is still in operation and which has affiliations with Delaware Valley Limo and Elite Limo. He served with the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959 and was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Sharon Hill. During the mid to late 1960s, he was a pitcher for the Sharon Hill Fire Company s fast pitch softball team. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, going to the racetrack and was a lifetime Phillies fan. Above all, he was devoted to his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Salerno. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith (Wilkinson) Salerno; three sons, Stephen of Townsend, David of North East, Md., and Robert of Sharon Hill, Pa.; a daughter, Joan Ksiazkiewicz of O Fallon, Mo.; a brother, John Salerno, of N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sept. 3, at Church of the Holy Spirit, Sharon Avenue, Sharon Hill, Pa. Interment will be held privately.
Llewelyn S. Rawding
Born in Milton, Mass., Mr. Rawding was the son of the late Grant H. and Marguerite (Harrison) Rawding. He was a truck driver for Schmidt s Bakery and Tender Touch for several years before purchasing Bill s Seafood from where he retired. He was also an avid boater.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara L. Betty Rawding, who passed away in 2001; his son, Steven P. Rawding, who passed away in 2001; and his daughter, Sharon Dibble, who passed away in 1986.
He is survived by his sons, Lawrence S. Rawding, of Wilmington, Scott D. Rawding and his wife Christine, of Middletown, and Bruce A. Rawding and his wife Michele, of Newark; and 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Grant H. Rawding, of Florida; his sister, Thelma Ochs, of Massachusetts; and his dog, Mitzi.
A service was held on Sept. 2 at the Mealey Funeral Home, Wilmington, where the funeral service followed. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

M. Irene Schimelfenig
Mrs. Schimelfenig was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, art, singing and collecting American Indian artifacts. Special times were spent dining in her favorite restaurant, the Olive Garden, with her beloved husband, Richard.
She was the daughter of the late Howard Benjamin and Anna Margaret (Walker) Davis and was the sister of the late LeRoy Palmer Davis and Howard Benjamin Davis, Jr.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard S. Schimelfenig; and their children, Richard J. Schimelfenig and his wife Barbara, of Claymont, Dianne L. Wolf of New Castle, Stephanie T. Betts and her husband, David, of Wilmington, David S. Schimelfenig and his wife Sandra, of Hockessin, Barbara J. Soden, of Wilmington, Toni-Marie Schimelfenig, of Claymont, and Paula Armstrong and her husband William, of Townsend. She is also survived by brothers, Walter James Davis and Donald Gene Davis, both of Milford, and Gregory Allen Davis, of Wilmington; sisters, Margaret Anna Martin, of Milford, and Carole Joan Davis, of Newark; sister-in-law, Rosemary Greenwell, of Bear; grandchildren, John Fox, Michael Fox, Amber Fox, Dana L. Wolf, Heidi Schimelfenig, Ray Soden, Christopher Soden and Justin Armstrong; great-grandchildren, John Michael Tyler Davis Oakes, Demitri Morgan Schimelfenig, Gabrielle Nichole DiCarlantonio; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 3 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, Claymont. Burial was held privately.

Norma W. Reed
She was born in Jennersville, Pa., the youngest of ten children and daughter of the late Norman Cecil Wimmer and Hettie Mills Wimmer.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Diane Reed Rump of Newark.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert M. and son Robert N. and his wife, of Middletown. She is also survived by her son-in-Law Tim Rump, of Newark, and five grandchildren along with her sister Hazel Price , of Galena, Md.
Norma has been retired from her work at Brookside Elementary School since 1981 where she worked as a teacher s aide.
A funeral service was held Sept. 3 in the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

Linda Mae Moore
She was born Sept. 24, 1957 in Wilmington.
She was the daughter of Elizabeth Mannering Moore and the late Gilbert C. Moore. Recognized as a leader in the medical field for the last 20 years, she was employed as an electroneurodiagnostic technologist. She had been an active member of the ASET Foundation. An avid scuba diver, she was a certified instructor.
In addition to her mother and sister, she is survived by three brothers, John of Saipan and Gary and Donald, all of Newark; and six nieces; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Hilde.
A funeral service was held Aug. 31 at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was private.

Virginia M. Mortensen
Ginger had retired from the Acme Food Market on Green Street in Middletown where she had worked for 23 years. She enjoyed watching sports and the soaps.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenna M. and Roger S. Dutton Sr., and a sister Betty J. Schelts.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Edwin C. Mortensen; one son, Greg Watts and his wife Lori, of Townsend; one daughter, Kelly Jean Watts, of Middletown; two brothers, Roger S. Dutton Jr. and his wife Mary, of Clayton, and Larry Dutton of Smyrna; one sister, Sharon L. Jackson and her husband Charles, of Palmyra, N.J.; two step-daughters, Debra L. Corliss and her husband John, of Proctor, Vt., and Linda A. Fenton and her husband Kevin, of Castleton, Vt.; two granddaughters; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and four step-granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.

Samuel L. Coverdale
Mr. Coverdale had been a dairy and grain farmer for over 30 years off of Boyds Corner Road near Middletown. He retired from farming in 1976. He was a past chairman of ASCS, a member of the Farm Bureau, the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Middletown, and he was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Blanche Coleman Coverdale; two daughters, Betty Ann Sinex, of Townsend, and Alice M. Warmouth, of Milford; one son, Walter L. Coverdale, of Neleland, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy Burris and her husband Jason Truver, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Coverdale reside with, Mark Burris, Jimmy Sinex; and additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Homes, Middletown. Interment was in the Forest Cemetery in Middletown.
Dixie Bishop Robb
She maintained her farm near Middletown for more than 50 years as the matriarch of her large family, where all the major holidays were celebrated and family activities were centered. All three of her grandchildren spent their earliest years there with their parents.
She started the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend Head Start Program, and co-founded the Mental Health Association of Delaware, as well as the Middletown Pony Club.
Mrs. Robb was born July 12, 1915, in Eastern Tenn., the daughter of a Southern Railway station master. She graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College.
She was recently predeceased by her former husband, and father of her children, Richard Marion Robb Sr. She leaves her sons Dick, Alan, Jim, Joe and Hugh, and grandchildren Ellen Gibson, Daniel and Heather.
Services and burial will be private.

Angelina Pino Conover
She was born in Hammonton and moved to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1967 and lived in Townsend since 1984. A clothing operator, she retired from the M. Waldman Clothing Co., Hammonton, in 1950. In her younger years, Mrs. Conover interests were motorcycles and airplanes and she loved working in her garden.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Conover; a daughter, Jeanne C. Adam and her husband Jack, of Newark; two brothers, Samouel Pino and wife Mildred of Hammonton, N.J., and Paul Pino, of Ocean City, N.J.; three grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sept. 7 at the Batsto Pleasant Mills Cemetery, Pleasant Mills, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any organizations to help the Katrina Hurricane Victims.
Florence Marie Thompson
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was fond of going to the beach, visiting yard sales and playing the slot machines at Dover Downs. Other hobbies included arts and crafts, playing cards and scrabble.
Mrs. Thompson was an active member of the Blackbird Community Center and was noted to be a good cook.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Eugene S. Thompson Jr.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Eugene S. III and Joy Thompson of Sudlersville, Md., and Donnie and Carol Thompson of Newark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon Marie and Bill Ogden of Clayton, Margie Gillespie of Dover and Ruth Ann and Kevin Alexander of Smyrna; two sisters, Sarah Steele of Covington, Va., and Helen Stradley of Columbus, Ohio; and a brother, Dalton Shackleton of Newark.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, Smyrna.
Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.
