Robert H. Alexander, of Magnolia, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005 in Kent General Hospital. He was 61.
Mr. Alexander was born August 8, 1943 in Golts, Md. to the late Joseph L. Alexander and Myrtle Rausch Alexander. He retired in 2001 as an Assistant Veterinarian for DuPont Farming. He worked in the thoroughbred racing industry. He was very close with his family and loved spending time with them.
His son, Shawn D. Alexander, preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Robert H. Alexander of Hawthorne, Fla.; two daughters, Charlotte Jones and her husband, Jim of Bear, Candace Alexander and her husband, Chris of Magnolia; a brother, Norman Alexander and his wife, Dorothy of Townsend; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Crystal, Justin, Shawn, Jimmy, Anthony, Michael and Robert.
Services were held March 17. Interment was private.
Barry J. Tucker
Barry J. Tucker, of Townsend, passed away in his home on Thursday, March 17, 2005. He was 54.
Barry was born January 24, 1951, in Troy, N.C. and resided in Townsend for 26 years. Barry began working for Delmarva Power and Light in 1970, completing 35 years of loyal service.
During his career, he was an active member in Local 1238 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where he held various leadership positions including shop steward, Executive Board member, union president, and assistant business manager. He also served as a delegate for several Delaware State AFL-CIO and IBEW International conventions. A leader by example, his work continues to be an inspiration to friends, family and coworkers.
His many interests included bowling, motorcycling, coaching softball, and playing pool and guitar. He was an avid card player who loved playing games with friends and family, and his "attitude readjustment days" will be missed by many. A loyal and loving person, Barry was a friend to all, with a gift for personal relationships, genuine compassion for people, and a love of life. He was a truly amazing individual who has touched many peoples' lives -- and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grover J. Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Neidlein) Tucker; son, Andrew; daughter, Sara; mother, Betty Sensenich; sister, Sandra Elliot; brother, Randy Tucker, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on March 21.
Audrey H. Brannan
Audrey H. Brannan, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Forwood Manor Health Care Center. She was 91.
Mrs. Brannan was a graduate of Goldey-Beacom College and worked as a legal secretary. She was a member of Alfa Iota Sorority and past president of the Washington Heights Century Club, the New Century Club, and Naamans Kill Questers (The Robinson House).
Mrs. Brannan was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Brannan. She is survived by her son, David A. Brannan of Chesapeake City, Md.; and daughter, Bonnie B. Hearn and her husband, Clifford, of Middletown; two grandsons, Andrew J. Biddle of Wilmington, and G. David Biddle and his wife, Valerie, of Middletown, and two great grandsons, David and Sam Biddle, both of Middletown.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22, at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home.
Interment was held privately.

Albert R. Graham
Albert R. Graham, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, March 17, 2005. He was 86.
Mr. Graham worked for Amtrak for 42 years until his retirement in 1978. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post #615 and the Disabled American Veterans. Other memberships included the Kingswood Community Center. In his youth, he was a weightlifting instructor for People's Settlement and an official for Bob Hoffman York Barbell Club.
His first wife, Margaret (McLaughlin) Graham, predeceased him in 1979. He is survived by his son, Albert, of Middletown; his daughters, Peggy Lindsay and Ellen Lewis, of Wilmington; his sister, Betty Christianson, of Newark; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 21, at Mealey Funeral Home, Entombment was in Cathedral Cemetery in Wilmington.

Jane Eleanor Johnston
Jane Eleanor Johnston, of Elkton, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005
Born in Westminster, Md. on September 18, 1952, she was the daughter of Lorraine Rakes Saxton of Elkton, and the late Stuart E. Harman. Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed flower gardening and reading.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 33 years, James R. Johnston; children, Brad Johnston and wife Michelle, of Elkton, Carrie Megahan and husband, Dan, of Middletown, brother, Larry Harman, of Bear, four grandchildren; and stepfather, John Saxton, of Elkton.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 23, at Hicks Home For Funerals. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Esther M. Camarota
Esther M. Cathcart Camarota, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2005 with her family by her side. She was 95.
Mrs. Camarota owned and operated a restaurant business with her husband Joseph in Atlantic City for many years.
Her husband, Joe; her loving parents, Joseph and Anna Cathcart, as well as her brothers and sisters, preceded her in death. She will be forever remembered by her nieces and nephews, Nancy and Bob Bean of Norwalk, Conn., Richard C. and Linda Cathcart of Middletown, Joseph Cathcart and Betty Donahue, both of New Castle, four grand-nieces and six grand-nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 22, at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel.
Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Martha Cochran Lurty
Martha Cochran Lurty, of Warwick, Md., passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Smith Beach, Va. She was 89.
Mrs. Lurty owned and operated Lurty's Grocery Store with her late husband, Clarence N. Lurty, in Warwick for more than 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Warwick and had served on the Board of Trustees. She enjoyed making crafts for the annual Christmas Bazaar at the church and she especially enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her son and his wife, Clarence Lee "Butch" and Sylvia Lurty of Smith Beach, Va.; and a special daughter, Diane Money and her husband, Harry of Warwick, a sister, Bessie Moore of Smyrna, three grandchildren, Vicky L. Kendall, Richard Lurty and his wife, Becky, and Sarah Burris; seven great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Amy, Cassie, Brittany, Chris, Zachary, and Alexa; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 22 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.

Lucille Cox Thompson
Lucille Cox Thompson, of Wilmington, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday, March 15, 2005.
She was born September 26, 1920 in Mullen, Neb., to the late A.B. and Minnie Cox. Mrs. Thompson graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1942 and taught high school until her married in 1944 to John B. Thompson. She taught at Salem Technical College, and then joined the word processing group at Hercules until her retirement.
Mrs. Thompson was a long time member of the Chi Omega Sorority Alumni Association in which she held many offices over the past years. She helped edit the history of the Nebraska Sand Hills, which had been compiled from oral interviews from the homesteaders there by her brother, Donald A. Cox. She also worked on the genealogy of her family for several years. She enjoyed needlework, especially counted cross-stitch and was an avid reader of English and Irish history.
Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by her two brothers, Henry and Donald Cox, both of Calf Creek, Cherry County, Neb. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John B. Thompson; her son, Roger P. Thompson and wife, Mary of Odessa; daughter, Jan Rohrbough, of Wilmington; three granddaughters, Jamie, Dana and Selby and a great-granddaughter, Leah.
Services will be private.

Barbara D. Romig
Barbara D. Romig, of Newark, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 14, 2005. She was 62.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 27, 1942, Mrs. Romig was the daughter of the late Harold Dunn and Katherine Ford Dunn. She enjoyed her retirement with her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William R. Romig; four children, Linda M. Romig of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; William R. Romig, Jr. of New Castle; Valgene R. Peterson and husband, Michael, of Newark and Terri L. Cracco and husband, Kenneth, of Middletown; brother, Harold K. Dunn of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held privately.

Merville E. Koria, Jr.
Merville E. Butch Koria, Jr., formerly of Newark, and Thonotosasso, Fla., passed away on March 11, 2005 at his residence in Elizabeth City, N.C.
Mr. Koria was born August 2, 1944 in Wilmington, and raised in Newark. A graduate of Newark High School and a onetime employee of the Newark School District, Mr. Korea was an electrician and heating and cooling expert by trade, an avid hunter and fisherman, a Vietnam era veteran, who served his country proudly and an artist, who conveyed his love of nature in sculpture and painting.
Mr. Koria is survived by four daughters, Heather and Lynn Koria, both of Thonotosasso, Fla., Vicki LePore of Henderson, Md. and Tammie Henretty of Wilmington, three brothers, William D. Koria of Townsend, Steven E. Koria of Claymont, and John P. Koria of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a sister, Joyce Koria Hayes of West Grove, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Interment will be private.

Rose Janotka Kralovic
Rose Therese Janotka Kralovic, of Smyrna, passed away peacefully at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover, on Wednesday March 16, 2005. She was 92.
Rose was born February 25, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Kralovic, of Smyrna; the loving mother of Joseph Kralovic Jr., of Geneva, Ill., and Mariann Pierson, of Smyrna; grandmother of 10 and their spouses, Joseph C. Kralovic; Michael Kralovic; Judy and Michael Sperry; Jeanne and David Morris; Nancy and Jeffrey Thornburg; Laura and Steve Caldwell; Daniel and Gwen Pierson; Karen and Frank Czerwinski; Diane and Michael Flood; and Lisa and Ivan de Leon; great-grandmother of 17; Max and Rachel Sperry; Cara and Eric Morris; Ryan and Cailey Thornburg; Andrew, Ethan, and Jake Caldwell; Jennifer and Brandon Pierson; Grant, Spencer, and Sophie Czerwinski; and Owen, Marianna, and Aidan Flood.
Rose was an active member of St. Polycarp Church in Smyrna, and sang in their choir. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crafts.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 21, at St. Polycarp Catholic Church. Entombment was Monday, March 21, in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Polycarp Parish Building Fund, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
Daniel G. Arnold
Daniel G. Arnold, of Odessa, passed away on March 20, 2005, at home. He was 93.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 28, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear.
Elaine S. Cohen
She was a member of Middletown, Odessa, Townsend Senior Center and Odessa Women s Club.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold; sons, Bert and his wife Kathy, and Bruce and his fianc e, Rosa; brother, Alfred Samuels; grandchildren, Daniel, Brian and Amy Cohen; three step-grandchildren, Francis, Christina and Amy Lawler; and three step great-grandchildren, Isabella, Julian and Alessandra.
A funeral service was held March 20 in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to M.O.T. Senior Center, 300 S. Scott St. Middletown, DE 19709.
Margaret M. Steller
Mrs. Steller was born May 15, 1916, and lived her entire life in Taylors Bridge. She was the daughter of the late James L. and Gertrude McClain. A lifelong homemaker and member of Friendship Methodist Church, she derived much enjoyment from her family, writing poetry, gardening and doing many types of puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry J. Steller Sr., who died in 1990; three brothers, James L., Walter, and Austin McClain; five sisters, Rosalie Walters, Lilian Sapp, Viola Naylor, Francis Heverin and Mabel Alfree; and her stepmother, Minnie McClain.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie Reynolds and her husband James, of Townsend, Gertrude Knotts and her husband William, and Gloria Sartin and her husband Larry, both of Smyrna; three sons, Henry J. Jr. of Townsend, James and his wife Paula, also of Townsend, and John and his wife Brenda, of Smyrna, 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held March 22 at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was in Old Drawyers Cemetery, north of Odessa.

John Patrick Balfe
He was born March 13, 1952, in Bronxville, N.Y., and had been formerly self-employed as a flooring contractor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris, and his brother, Robert. John is survived by his father, Joseph; his stepmother, Judith; four brothers, Joseph, William, Thomas, and Kevin; his stepbrother, Christopher; and three sisters, Susan Collins, Lori Clokey and Barbara Bonsignore. In addition, he leaves behind his brothers-in-law Patrick, Andy, and Peter; and sisters-in-law Patricia, Cheryl, Andrea, Karen and Anne. John is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved. He brought much fun and happiness into their lives. John was a very special brother and son, who will be sorely missed by his entire family.
A funeral Mass was offered March 18 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tuckahoe, N.Y. Interment was private.
Marion Joan Crossland
Marion was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to the late Thomas Ganard and Alberta Shillabeer Ganard. She moved to Middletown after obtaining her teaching degree at Bucknell University. She taught school for many years. She was an active member of Aldersgate Church. She was also an avid reader and spent many hours working in her yard. For 50 years, she has enjoyed summers at Harvey s Lake. Marion devoted her life to her family and was happy at any activity that involved her grandchildren.
Marion is survived by Howard, her loving husband of 57 years; a daughter, Mary Lou Lundberg and her husband Arnie, of Alpharetta, Ga.; a son, Daniel Crossland and his wife Lisa, of Hockessin; grandchildren, Melinda, Erin and Kristin Lundberg and David and Jeffrey Crossland; and a brother, Thomas Ganard, of Absecon, N.J.
Burial will be private.
