Dallas Wayne Warren, Sr. "Keyes" of Middletown, suddenly departed this life on Friday, February 18, 2005, at Christiana Hospital. He was 52.
He was employed at General Motors for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Shelley; 2 sons, Parrish Cale and Dallas Jr.; 1 daughter, LaQuenta Daniels; 4 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; 1 daughter-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Trinity A.M.E. Church, 27 E. Lockwood St., Middletown.
Interment was held in Blanco Faith Church Cemetery in Kenton.
Arthur J. Pinder
Arthur J. Carlton Pinder, of Bear, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at Christiana Hospital in Newark. He was 73.
Mr. Pinder was born in Chestertown, Md. on January 7, 1932, son of the late Arthur J. Pinder and Clara Merchant Pinder. A graduate of Claymont High School, he was a standout athlete from his freshman year.
He played for four years on the varsity football squad and was given the nickname "Pads" by his teammates and friends for his passion and talent for the game. Active in his community as well, he earned Eagle Scout honors from Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Pinder later graduated from Pennsylvania Military College and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. For 23 years, he worked in sales for Sears until his retirement.
In his leisure time, Mr. Pinder was an avid sports fan and greatly enjoyed skiing.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shirley Fike Allen-Pinder; 2 sons, Douglas L. Allen and his wife, Carole, of Elkton, Md. and Kevin J. Allen and his wife, Patty, of Townsend; 2 sisters, Doris Barnard of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Helen Mitchell of Felton; and 2 grandchildren, Douglas L. Allen II and Chelsea Ann Allen.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Feb. 28. Interment followed in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Anthony
Dorothy L. Anthony, a 17-year resident of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005. She was 90.
She was born in Andreas, Pa. on September 15, 1914, the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Blanche E. Kistler.
Mrs. Anthony had been employed as a cook at the former Wotring s Banquet Hall, Schnecksville, Pa., for many years. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, Pa.
She was the wife of the late Philip E. Anthony. She is survived by her daughters, Dolores C. Dolly Owens, of Wilmington; and Carol A. Jenkins and her husband Brent, of Earleville, Md.; a brother, Marvin C. Kistler, of Allentown, Pa.; a sister, Miriam M. Fry of Orefield, Pa.; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Interment was in Union Cemeter, Neffs, PA.

Horace Plunkett
Horace Plunkett, of Middletown, passed away February 24, 2005 at home. He was 81.
He was raised in West Chester, Pa. and served in the 14th Armored Division of the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Plunkett retired from The News Journal paper, where he was employed for 38 years. During his life, he enjoyed golf, fishing and boating.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Gordon and Earl. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen; and their children and spouses, Kathy and Ken Horenstein of Fort Washington, Pa., Richard and Patricia Plunkett of Glenmoore, Pa. and Elizabeth and Donald Williams of Newark; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by his sister, Constance; and his brother, Robert and his wife, Mildred. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Gordon and Earl.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Vickie Orr for their excellent care.
The funeral service was on Wednesday, March 2, at Doherty Funeral Home. Burial was private.

Billy J. Blankenship
Billy J. Blankenship, of Newark, died peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Temple University Medical Center in Philadelphia due to complications from lung surgery. He was 68.
Billy was born February 15, 1937 in Haysi, Va. He was employed at Chrysler Corp. in Newark for 33 years and retired in June 1955. Billy loved NASCAR races and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray Blankenship and Alta Mae Blankenship; and his brothers, John, Sammy and Teddy Blankenship. He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Bass and her husband, Joe of Middletown; his son, Robert Blankenship of Newark; 2 grandsons, Dustin Mecke and his wife, Sarah of Newark; and Robbie Joe Bass of Middletown; and great grandson, Dylan Mecke of Middletown. He is also survived by four sisters, Delores Duty of Haysi, Va., Betty Mansfield and her husband, Stanley of Vansant, Va., Roberta Looney and her husband, David of Abingdon, Va., and Mickey Breeding and her husband, Harliss of Rosedale, Va.; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Friends and family called at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711 on Wednesday, March 2. Services will be in Haysi, Va. at a later date.
George A. Eachus
George A. Eachus of Claymont, passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 25, 2005 at home, surrounded by his loving family, following a battle with cancer. He was 70.
George was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on January 12, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sarah; and 2 sisters, Sarah and Marie.
George served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1957 to 1962. He worked at Amoco Chemical Co. and General Motors. He retired from General Motors in 1997 after 18 years of service. George was a member of Brandywine Masonic Lodge #33. He also attended Concord Baptist Church.
George and his beloved wife, Betty, enjoyed traveling the United States on their Harley with the First State Chapter of the Harley Owners Group and The Retreads. They will best be remembered for their sidecar. Most recently, George enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and their beloved dog, Samantha.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty, of 48 years; daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Jay of Claymont; son, George and his wife, Darlene of Newark; 6 grandchildren, George, Jr. of Claymont, Gavin and Colin, both of Chesterfield, Va., Michael Denver of Middletown, and Stephen and Matthew Eachus, both of Newark; and his sister Margaret Drake of Rutledge, Pa.
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. Burial was held in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mary L. Martin
Mary L. Martin, formerly of Madelyn Gardens, Wilmington, passed away at Forwood Manor on February 21, 2005. She was 93.
Mary was born in Arlington, Mass. to the late Thomas and Agnes Preston Tobin. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary was an avid bridge player until illness overtook her.
Her husband of 57 years, Frederick J. Martin, died in 1996.
Mary is survived by her son, David P. Martin, VMD of Chadds Ford, Pa.; and her daughter, Patricia B. Alderson of Middletown; 2 brothers, Paul Tobin and Randall Tobin; and 2 sisters, Claire Franklin and Helen Tobin, all of Mass.; and 4 grandchildren, Stephen Alderson, Peggy Alderson, Christopher Martin and Kerstin Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, Feb. 25, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Weldin and Shipley roads. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation, PO Box 96280, Washington, D.C. 20090.
Evis Towle Jennings
Evis Towle Jennings, of Greenville, passed away, Thursday, February 17, 2005, at home.
She was born August 19, 1912 in South Orange, N.J.
She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., Class of 1933. She was active in the Mount Holyoke Club of Delaware for many years, was a volunteer guide at Winterthur Museum, was a sustaining member of the Delaware Art Museum Council and a volunteer at the Wilmington Flower Market. She was a former member of the Greenville Country Club.
Mrs. Jennings' husband, Andrew B. Jennings, died in 1971.
She is survived by 2 children, Peter H. Jennings of Wilmington and his wife, Michele, and Gregory T. Jennings of Newark; her daughter-in-law, Ellen W. Jennings of Middletown; 3 grandchildren, Kathryn T. Jennings of Trenton, N.J., Elizabeth H. Jennings of Atlanta, Ga. and Pamela B. Jennings of Wilmington; and 2 stepchildren, Lauren E. Moak and David G. Moak, both of Wilmington. She was predeceased by her son, Gordon C. Jennings; and daughter-in-law, Lorie S. Jennings.
A memorial service at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania Ave. & Rodney St., Wilmington was held on Friday, Feb. 25. Interment was private prior to the service.

Norman F. Lowe
Norman F. Lowe, of Townsend, formerly of Laurel, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2005 in Wilmington.
Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, DE 19956.
Stephen Bellingreri
Stephen Bellingreri of Palm Coast Florida, formerly of Old Bridge, N.J., passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, February 24, 2005. He was 73.
Steve was born on November 23, 1931 in the Bronx, N.Y., son of Arthur and Katherine Bellingreri.
Steve was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed many hobbies including cooking and gardening, as well as volunteering at local community centers. He was a favorite of the local children when he played Santa during the Christmas season.
He was also an avid reader as well as a crossword puzzle aficionado. He loved to watch baseball and football games with his family and friends, favoring the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
Larger than life, Steve touched the hearts of everyone he met. He always put the needs of others before his own, no matter what was needed; painting a room, giving someone a ride, or helping to prepare a meal for a special event, Steve was always there to help.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur Bellingreri Jr., and brothers-in-law, John Pingol and Robert Spaeth. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy; his two children; son Stephen and his wife Lori, of Methuen, Mass.; daughter Diane Schall and her husband Gary, of Middletown; his sister Alice Pingol of Davies, Fla.; his sister-in-law Joan Spaeth of New City, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews, and 3 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, March 3, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church in Warwick, Md. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, Middletown.
Hazel Martha Louise (Parker) Calvert
Born on Feb. 18, 1910 in Pawtucket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Agnes (Kraigenow) Parker.
Mrs. Calvert was a graduate of Tolman High School. She resided in Pawtucket, R.I. for 90 years where she served as church organist for many of those years. She was a pianist and as a homemaker, enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, tailoring, millinery and all types of needlework such as tatting, embroidery, lace work, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. In 2000, she moved to Smyrna to be closer to her family. She was a member of St. Peter s Episcopal Church in Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Calvert Jr. in 1990.
Mrs. Calvert is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Jim Lee of Smyrna; a son, Robert Calvert of Palm Springs, Calif.; and grandchildren, Stephen and Susan Lee of Dover, Suzanne and Thomas Chafin of Lincoln, Christopher and Colleen Calvert and Matthew Calvert, all of Phoenix, Ariz.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 24 at St. Peter s Episcopal Church, Smyrna. Burial was private at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, R.I., on Feb. 22.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hazel Calvert Music Fund of St. Peter s Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE 19977.
Alice J. Webb
Born in Wilmington, on July 27, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Walling) and Morris Hutson.
Mrs. Webb was devoted to her family and entertained them with her wonderful sense of humor. Later in life, she enjoyed spending her days at the M.O.T. Jean Birch Senior Center, where she volunteered her services.
She was an active member of the Claymont Firefighter s Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; a brother, Tom Hutson; two sisters, Crete James and Mil Dulin; and a niece, Cheryl Abramowicz.
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her son, Jack and his wife Charlotte; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Ransom; her grandchildren, Diane Kingsley and her husband, Dave, Jack Webb and his wife, Danna, Nicole, Tony, and Kendall Webb; three nieces, Barbara Maloney, Mickey Decino, and Norma Garvey; a nephew, Tom Hutson and his wife Marge; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Garrett Kingsley and Jack and Corinne Webb; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 26 at Gracelawn Memorial Chapel, New Castle. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

Nancy Evelyn Emerson
She was born on Dec. 29, 1938, in Smyrna, daughter of the late Edward H. and Ida E. (Smith) Everett.
Mrs. Emerson attended Smyrna High School, and graduated from James H. Groves High School in Middletown in 1985.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who delighted in creating wonderful gift baskets for family and friends. She had a terrific knack to finding the perfect contents for the specific recipient. Nancy enjoyed practical jokes, reading romance novels, cooking big family meals, chatting with friends and family and generally lifting the spirits of all those she met. She also enjoyed decorating and always had a new redecorating or remodeling plan going in the background.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, and Marie Moore; and by her brother, Wilson Everett.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Earl L. Emerson Jr.; her daughter, Darlene K. Hamby of New Castle; her son, Russell D. Emerson of Newark; and her daughter, Terri L. Emerson of Middletown; four grandchildren, Jerry Hamby, Jason Hamby, Brandon Hamby and Matthew Emerson; three great-grandchildren; and her brother, John R. and his wife, Ann Everett, of Jacksonville, N.C.
Graveside services were held privately on Feb. 27 at Townsend Cemetery.
