Beulah Stair Baxter passed away on February 7, 2005 at her home in north Wilmington. She was born to Jesse and Emma Stair on August 24, 1924, in the western Pennsylvania community of Farmington. She married George Thomas Baxter in Farmington in 1943 and moved to the Port Penn area in 1946 where they farmed, raised their children, and lived until 1997. George Baxter died in 1999.
Mrs. Baxter is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Richard and Kathy Baxter of Newark, Jane and Paul Ericson of Watersmeet, MI and Raymond Baxter and Rosemary Killian of north Wilmington. A sister, Jessie Magee of Farmington, PA, and 2 brothers, Bill Stair of Norcross, GA, and Mark Stair of Brookville, PA. She had 5 beloved grandchildren, Dinah O Dell of Pickerington, OH, David Baxter of Altamonte Springs, FL, Carol Williams of Douglasville, PA, Nathan Baxter of Delaware City, and Bradley Baxter of Richland, WA, as well as 7 great grandchildren.
The family wants to express special thanks to Phyllis Johnson, Beulah s devoted friend, who was always there to help Beulah in her last few months.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, February 12 in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home. Burial was followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery on Port Penn Road.
The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to St. Georges United Methodist Church, 109 Broad St., St. Georges, DE, 19733.
Janice Florence Derrick
Janice Florence Derrick "Jannie" of New Castle, DE, died suddenly on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at her home. She was 67.
Mrs. Derrick was born on September 20, 1937 in Carneys Point, NJ, daughter of the late Norman D. Turner and Gladys Dolbow Turner.
For over 26 years, she worked with special needs children in the Colonial School District, most recently caring for children as a bus aide.
Mrs. Derrick was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be greatly missed by her beloved family.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore H. Derrick; 2 daughters, Karen Heine of Delaware City, DE and Pamela Moffett of Bear, DE; brother, Norman Turner of Quinton, NJ; sister, Marlene Piemontese of Newark, DE; and 3 grandchildren, Heather Moffett, Sean Moffett and Jessica Heine.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home. Entombment followed in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

Diane Stephanie Henry
Diane Stephanie Henry of Townsend, DE passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005. She was 49.
Diane worked at the Delaware Hospital for Chronically Ill as a certified nursing assistant for 15 years.
Diane graduated valedictorian from James H. Groves High School in Middletown, DE May 17, 1987.
Diane completed several courses at the Delaware Technical & Community College in Wilmington and Dover, DE.
Diane recently retired from Appoquinimink School District, where she worked as a paraprofessional in the Everett Meredith Middle School.
Emilin and Lillian Brown, Diane's maternal grandparents, who preceded her in death, raised her in Odessa, DE with the assistance of her aunt, Lucretia Munson.
Diane's mother, Lillian Demby and her brother, Stephan Brown, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Isaac William Henry Jr.; a son, Isaac William Henry III; daughter-in-law, Lakiesha Marie Henry; 3 granddaughters, Anjeu Monae, Iasia Dianna and Briana Nikole Henry. She is also survived by her father, William "Willie" Wiggins; 4 sisters, Maryann Biddle, Joann Collins and Doris and Ursula Wiggins; 5 brothers, Kenny Wiggins, Donald Wiggins, Douglas Wiggins, Alvin Wiggins and Tyrell Thomas-Wiggins; 1 aunt, Alice Roberts; 3 uncles, Richard "Buddy" Brown, Emilin "Bo Diddy" Brown and Wesley "Wes" Wiggins; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The service and interment will be private.
Myra Dale Robertson
Myra Dale Robertson of Newark, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Gardens at White Chapel in Newark. She was 84.
Born in Renovo, PA on July 31, 1920, Mrs. Robertson was the daughter of the late John F. Dale and Lenna Lepley Dale. For many years, she worked in sales at her brother's store, the former M.S. Dale Jewelers on Main Street in Newark. A devout Christian, she was a member of White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church.
In her later years, Mrs. Robertson greatly enjoyed bingo, her pet cats, and spending time with both her beloved family and her many friends at White Chapel.
Her husband, W. Harvey Robertson, died in 1991.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Lenna R. Mele and her husband, Albert, of Newark and Amy R. Grafton and her husband, Michael, of Middletown; and 4 grandchildren, Alexis Grafton, Michael Grafton, Jr., Thomas Mele and Matthew Mele.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where friends may call after 10 am.
Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

Dorothy L. Anthony
Dorothy L. Anthony, a seventeen year resident of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, died on Friday February 18. She was 90.
She was born in Andreas, Pa. on September 15, 1914, the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Blanche E. Kistler.
Mrs. Anthony had been employed as a cook at the former Wotring s Banquet Hall, Schnecksville, Pa., for many years. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, Pa.
She was the wife of the late Philip E. Anthony. She is survived by her daughters, Dolores C. Dolly Owens, of Wilmington; and Carol A. Jenkins and her husband Brent, of Earleville, Md.; a brother, Marvin C. Kistler, of Allentown, Pa.; a sister, Miriam M. Fry of Orefield, Pa.; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday February 23 at Heintzelman Funeral Home, 4906 Rt. 309, Schnecksville, Pa., where friends may call at 10:00 AM.
Interment will be in Union Church Cemetery, Neffs, Pa.

Everett Raymond Ray Forsman
Mr. Forsman was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Silverhill, Ala., son of Edla (Anderson) and Everett Peter Forsman.
He attended Austin High School in Chicago.
He proudly served his country in Korea.
Mr. Forsman began his career as a newspaper pressman in 1944, where he worked for many years for the Chicago Tribune in Chicago, Ill. His newspaper career continued at The Washington Post and The Evening Star in Washington, D.C. In 1976, he relocated to Wilmington and continued to work as a pressman for The News Journal until 1989.
Throughout his life, he was a student of history and an avid reader. and especially enjoyed family gatherings in Fenwick Island. He dedicated his life to God and his family.
Mr. Forsman belonged to the M.O.T. Jean Birch Senior Center, the Middletown Historical Society and the Civil War Roundtable. He was a member of the Middletown Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Forsman and Gilbert Forsman; and a sister, Edna Jacobson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Suzanne Davis Forsman; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Lynn and Kevin Stockdale of Woodbridge, Va., and Jane and Sidney Phillips of Dunn Loring, Va.; a son and a daughter-in-law, and Brian and Marla (Hyde) Forsman of Williamsburg, Va.; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Kendall Messick of Jersey City, N.J., and Neal and Joan (Prettyman) Messick of Townsend; eight grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law, Alison and Adam Newcomer, Timothy Stockdale, Ramona and Wayne Hill, Scarlett Forsman, Jane Forsman, Connor Phillips, Devon Messick and Michala Messick; and a sister, Irene Jirik of Victoria, British Columbia.
Services were Feb. 21 at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.
Burial with military honors was in the Delaware Veteran s Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the M.O.T. Jean Birch Senior Center Building Campaign, 300 S. Scott St., Middletown, DE; or to Habitat for Humanity, 1920 Hutton St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
Eileen M. Gardner
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Gardner, in February, 1986.
She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Alan and Jo Ann Gardner of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Maxfield Gardner, Nicholas Gardner and Alexandra Gardner; a sister, Margaret Gray of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a brother, Raymond Brown of Cincinnati.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Middletown Lions Club, c/o James Beattie, Treasurer, 101 East Park Place, Middletown, DE 19709; or to one s favorite charity.
Doris Elizabeth Libby Harris
Mrs. Harris was born on May 22, 1935, in Williamsville, daughter of the late William M. Harrington.
Her family moved to Dover when her father purchased a 300-acre farm near Kitts Hummock.
Mrs. Harris graduated from Dover High School in 1953.
After graduation, she began her banking career as a teller at Farmers Bank. She worked in the Collections Department at Wilmington Trust Rodney Square, before she retired in 1997 after 19 years of service. She also worked part-time as a sales associate at JC Penney, Price s Corner, for 16 years.
Mrs. Harris was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her mother, Myrtle I. Harrington; her husband of 20 years, Paul Harris of Salem, N.J.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Denise Holt of Bear and Daniel Holt of Middletown; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Virginia and Bob Kooker and Betty and Earl Fath, all of Dover; a brother, Frankie Biondi of Dover; two granddaughters, Taylor Holt and Morgan Holt, both of Bear; three nieces; and two nephews.
Services were held on Feb. 20 at the Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington.

Charles Rickards Chum Laws Sr.
Mr. Laws was born on May 6, 1927, in Bear, son of the late Charles B. and Ida (Rickards) Laws.
He was an accomplished harness horse driver, trainer and owner, who was well-known throughout the area. He loved farming in general, but his passion was dairy farming. When he wasn t racing or farming, he enjoyed gardening and was known for the stories he could tell and his amazing recall of baseball facts concerning the Philadelphia Phillies. He and his son, Billy, enjoyed their times spent together when fox hunting, which they did quite regularly. He was affectionately known as Pop.
Mr. Laws was a member of the United States Trotting Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean Millar Laws, on Dec. 10, 2006; a son, Donald Laws; a daughter, Alice Laws Barcus; and a grandson, Zachery Rickards Laws, on March 19, 2006.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky and Marie of Clayton and Billy of and Ronny, both of Middletown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Wade of Fla., and Jenny Ostberg and Jeff of Maine; 14 grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Abby, Lauren, Brandon, Keri, Dan, Drew, Amanda, Andy, Dawn, Charles, Aaron and Elainea; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Keeley, Allie McCommons, Helen Potts, Betty Reader and Judy Walker; and a brother, Donald Laws.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Middletown.

Marie Denney Mary Kaczorowski
She was born on July 2, 1932, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Chickadel) Marra.
Mrs. Kaczorowski was a very active member of the Delaware National Country Club for the past 28 years, where she served as chairman for breast cancer tournaments and also was a long time volunteer for the McDonald s LPGA tournament. She was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and a past member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clifford E. Denney; a son, Clifford J. Denney; and three sisters, Rose Smith, Theresa Garner and Grace Marra.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Stan Kaczorowski; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Mark and Teresa Denney of Hockessin, Michael and Maria Denney of Wilmington and Vincent and Theresa Denney of Middletown; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Frank DeSantis of Texas and Lisa and Michael Pedicone of Wilmington; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a stepson, Stas Kaczorowski; two brothers, Vincent Marra and Joseph Marra; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 20. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wilmington.
Entombment was in the Holy Spirit Garden Crypt in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

George Edward Massey
He was born on July 17, 1927, in Emporia, Va., son of the late Alva and Jesse W. Massey Sr.
He and his family moved to Dover in 1930 and he graduated from Dover High School in 1945, where he was an all around athlete in track, golf, baseball, tennis and football. As lightning half-back, he contributed to the football team going undefeated two years in a row. He played both offense and defense positions then strapped on the tuba to play in the band during half-time. This was the World War II generation. He graduated from Rider College in Trenton, N.J., in 1952, with a business degree.
Mr. Massey served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946 on the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Princeton with his battle station manning the 40-millimeter guns.
His business career spanned 38 years as the assistant manager for the Dover Coca-Cola Bottling Company, from where he retired in 1990.
He enjoyed many activities including painting, carving ducks, hunting, golf, the beach and fishing. But these activities never took priority over being a devoted husband and father who brought a happy home life to those who loved him.
Mr. Massey was a member of the People s United Church of Christ in Dover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Earl Massey and Charles Elbert Massey.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years, Orna Lee (Metz) Massey; two sons and two daughter-in-law, U.S. Navy Retired Capt. George Cort and Marilyn Massey of Magnolia, William Randy and Connie Massey of Bear; a daughter and a son-in-law, Susan L. and Dr. Clarke Cushing of Warwick; two brothers, Jesse W. Massey Jr., of Norfolk, Va., and D. Julian Massey of Dover; and seven grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Alison Massey, Lauren Massey, Jason and Courtney Massey, Ryan Massey, Lindsay Massey, Joshua Cushing and Andrew Cushing.
Services were held Feb. 20, at Torbert Funeral South Chapel, Dover.
Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
