Sidney R. Welch of Newark died Sunday, February 3, 2002 surrounded by family. He was 89.
Mr. Welch was a coal miner for 32 years and after retirement worked as a finished carpenter. He was a Mason and a member of the United Mine Workers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening and took pride in the vehicles he owned.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Drosick Welch; six children, Rebecca Watson (William) of Newark, David Welch (Helen) and Sidney J. Welch (Theresa), both of Anchorage, Alaska; Bernard Welch (Trudy) of New Castle and Ellen Jourdan Jones (Miles) and Veronica Hensing Farber (John), both of Townsend; a brother, Frank Welch of Lynchburg, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Jean Buchanan.
Services were held Feb. 6 at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, New Castle.
Interment was in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Minquadale, New Castle.
Ruth Gruwell Reed
Mrs. Reed was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Odessa. She was also a lifetime member of the Odessa Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 3792 in Middletown. She retired after 20 years with A & P Stores in Middletown and Smyrna.
She was preceded in death by a son, James, a grandson Steve, and three brothers, Francis, Merrill, and Frank, Jr.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband of 61 years, George W. Reed of Odessa; a daughter, Frances Foley and her husband Larry, also of Odessa; one grandson, Glen Foley; two great graddaughters, Ashley and Makenzie; one sister, Hazel Guessford, of Townsend; two brothers, Ray Gruwell and his wife Barbara of Odessa, and Charles Gruwell and his wife Betty of Smyrna; and many nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private.
The family suggests contributions to St. Paul's Methodists Church, P.O. Box 253, Odessa, DE, 19730.

Erin M. Trowbridge
She was born on February 23, 1984, in Milford, to Robert and Cordelia (Mears) Trowbridge. She lived with her loving aunt and uncle, Lisa and Darren Talcott, while furthering her education. Erin was a 2002 graduate of Dover High School. Erin was free spirited. She enjoyed talking on the phone, being with friends, and living life to its fullest. She touched many with her heart and her smile. She also was an organ donor so others could have life.
She is survived by her father, Robert Trowbridge of Port Penn; stepmother, Amy Trowbridge of Port Penn; her mother, Cordelia Collins of Felton; stepfather, John Collins of Felton; brothers, Robert Trowbridge, Jr. of Port Penn, Eugene Greek of Felton, and Clifton Greek of Felton; sisters, Cassy Lancaster of Port Penn, Carrie Lancaster of Port Penn, and Lynsy Collins of Felton, maternal grandparents, Linda and Roger Mears of Felton; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and June Sullivan of Bowers Beach; step paternal grandparents, George and Sue Lancaster of Port Penn; step maternal grandparents, Harold and Sarah Collins of Dover; special friend, William Station of Korea.
Remembrance Services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home in Dover. Burial will be at the Barratts Chapel Cemetery Frederica. Friends may call Thursday, two hours before the time of the service at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.
Donald F. Mood, Jr.
Services will be held February 6, at 11 a.m. in St. Polycarp s Roman Catholic Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour before services.
Ann W. Manlove
Mrs. Manlove was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Manlove, Sr. and her son, William W. Manlove, Jr. She is survived by a son, W. Eugene Manlove and his wife, Jane; one daughter, Nancy Ann Ellingsworth, all of Odessa; a son-in-law, Charles P. McClafferty, who helped care for her and also lives in Odessa; a daughter-in-law, Helene Manlove of Asburn, Va.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 6 at 1 p.m. in the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown. Friends may call one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Md.

Mary Walker Sparks
Mrs. Sparks was a native Delawarean born on November 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Florence (David) Walker. A talented homemaker, she especially enjoyed sewing.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Penn.
Her husband, Marion O. Sparks died in 1976.
She is survived by a niece, Mary Lou Reynolds; a great niece, Terri Hall; and a great-great niece, Jada Johnson.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Zenon Joseph Marusa Jr.
Zenon Joseph Marusa, Jr., of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Celebration Hospital in Orlando, Fla. Mr. Marusa had been battling cancer and was vacationing at Disney World with his family at the time of his death. He was 49.
Zen was the Director of Human Resources for the Appoquinimink School District. He was an educator and administrator serving as the former Principle of Cedar Lane Elementary in Appoqunimink and the Pulaski School in the Christina District, and also as Assistant Principle at Gauger-Cobbs Middle School, also in Christina. Zen taught elementary education at Richardson Park Elementary and English and Science at H. B. DuPont, both in the Red Clay District. He had also taught at St. Edmond's Academy in Wilmington and Holy Rosary in Claymont.
Zen was a 1973 graduate of St. Marks High School and received his Bachelors Degree in 1977 and his Masters in 1987, both from University of Delaware. Zen loved the beach and kayaking in the ocean. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Michelle K., one son Zenon J., III, his mother Ann Marusa of New Castle, one sister, Ann Marie Cushing of Newark, and his maternal grandmother, Clara Maida of Hockessin, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, Jan. 31, at the Auditorium at the Middletown High School.

Richard Matthew Moor, Sr.
Richard Matthew Moor, Sr., of Smyrna, died suddenly of a heart attack while doing what he loved, duck hunting in Massey, Md., on Saturday, January 29, 2005. He was 56.
He was born in Dover, January 28, 1949, to Pauline Marie Coudright Moor and the late Harry Wilson Moor, died in 1966.
Ricky had celebrated his 56 birthday the night before his death with his wife and children at his home on Cindy Lane in Smyrna.
Ricky was employed by Hanover Food Corporation, Clayton Division, as an agricultural specialist. He was a lifetime member of Clayton Fire Company, a member of Ewell's St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Clayton, and was a hunting guide for Ducks in Flight Waterfowl LLC in Massey, Md.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
In addition to his love of nature, he was softball player in his early years and enjoyed sports. Ricky especially enjoyed watching his sons play football. He was very vocal Widener University football fan, where his youngest son, Alex, played.
In 2002, he received the Delaware Vegetable Growers Association Career Distinguished Services award for his contribution to Delaware's vegetable industry.
Ricky was 1967 graduate of John Bassett Moore High School and a 1971 graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 13 years, Mary McKone Moor of Smyrna; two sons, Richard M. Moor, Jr. of Dover and Alex B. Moor of Smyrna; daughter, Jennifer Moor Holdsworth and her husband, Keith, and their daughter that he cherished, Elizabeth, all of Bear. He was looking forward to his 2nd grandchild. He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Moor Wemple of Dover; sister, Esther Moor Downes and her husband, Rick, of Smyrna; and many special nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, DE from 5 p.m. to 8p.m. on Thursday evening, February 3.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, morning, February 4, at 10 am at Barratt's Chapel Church in Frederica.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
The family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Rd., Suite 202, Dover, DE 19904.
Thomas Cordeiro
Mr. Cordeiro was born Jan. 13, 1954, in Woonsocket, R.I., son of the late Lawrence S. and Frances V. Cordeiro.
He worked as a mechanic, fabricator and welder.
Mr. Cordeiro was an automobile and motorcycle enthusiast throughout his life. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Cordeiro.
He is survived by a son, Peter; three brothers, Lawrence, Richard and Kenneth; a sister, Melinda (Cordeiro) Noland; their families; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Easter Seals of Delaware, 61 Corporate Circle, New Castle, DE 19720.
Robert E. Harrison Sr.
Mr. Harrison was born on Dec. 27, 1931, in Robinson, Ill., son of the late Harold A. Sr. and Anna Mae Kellogg Harrison.
A true patriot, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the service of his country.
In civilian life, Mr. Harrison enjoyed a successful career with DP&L, from where he retired as a manager after 37 years of service.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Cross Forks Hunting Lodge. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted family man.
Mr. Harrison was active in his community throughout his life. He was a former member of the Delaware City Council and served on the Delaware City Park Commission. He was a life member of the Delaware City Fire Department and a member of the Delaware City Lions Club for more than 40 years. He also was a member of the Robert Taylor American Legion Post in Delaware City, VFW Post 838 and the Moose Lodge, both in New Castle, Blackbird Micro Midget Racing Club No. 56 Green Gator, and the Delaware City Recreation Club. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's RC Church and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Miller, Lloyd Miller, Floyd Miller and Larry Harrison; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Hart.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia M. McConnell Harrison; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert E. Jr. and Melissa Harrison of Wilmington and Mark J. Harrison of Delaware City; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Maryann H. John and Kirk III of Middletown and Sharon H. and Scott, Sutton Sr. of Bear; a brother, Harold A. Jr.and Doris Lea Harrison of Robinson; a sister, Roseanne H. Hart of Robinson; six grandchildren, John IV, Ethan, Meredith, Emily, Maria and Scottie; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 26 at St. Paul's RC Church, Delaware City.
Burial was in New St. Paul's Cemetery, Delaware City.

Richard Thomas Esterling
Mr. Esterling was born and raised in Wilmington, son of the late George L. and Helen M. Esterling.
He graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School, Wilmington High School, Brandywine College and the University of Delaware, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
He served his country with the Delaware Air Force National Guard, 166th Combat Support Squadron.
Mr. Esterling worked as a sales development technician for EI DuPont Co., a restaurant manager for Gino s Inc. and a sales director for R. L. White Inc., of Louisville, Ky. From the late 1970 s until 1993, he worked in a number of management positions for Kroger Super Markets of Louisville. After leaving Kroger, he owned and operated his own restaurant equipment business. He returned to Delaware in 2000, and for the past six years, he worked in the treasury departmenat at the New Castle County Government Center.
He is survived by his fianc e, Jacqueline J. Mason of Wilmington; a daughter, Shea E. Esterling of Bloomington, Ind.; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, George L. Jr. and Judy Esterling of Wilmington, William and Carolyn of Middletown and Joseph, and Michele of Annapolis, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be private.

Elizabeth C. Sullivan Jones
She was born on Feb. 7, 1923, in Wilmington, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Flynn Manley.
Mrs. Jones worked as a secretary in the Wilmington area for many years until moving to Earleville in 1972.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, James Sullivan Sr., in 1968; her second husband of 22 years, Albert Jones, in 1993; a brother, James Manley; and three sisters, Rita Moore, Mary Moyle and Theresa Dougherty.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Marjorie Sullivan of Fenwick Island and Thomas M. Sullivan of Earleville; a daughter and a son-in-law, Mary Ann and William Givens of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Matthew Sullivan, Brett Sullivan, Heather Sullivan and Katie Manley; and four great-grandchildren.
A of Christian Burial was held Jan. 27 in St. Dennis RC Church, Galena.
Burial was private in All Saints Cemetery.
