WILMINGTON - Natalie Beaston Hadley of Wilmington, formerly of Middletown, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002. She was 87.
Mrs. Hadley was a graduate of Beacom Business School.
She had worked as a secretary for the DuPont Co. during the 1940s.
Mrs. Hadley was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William J. Hadley, in 1999.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen R. Hadley of Birmingham, Ala., and Reed Hadley of Wilmington; and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Erinn, Cailin and Meghan.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Thursday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, East Green Street, Middletown.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Middletown.

Cyril Newton Hedrick Jr., 81
DOVER - Cyril Newton Hedrick Jr. of Dover died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in the Veterans Affairs Medical and Regional Office Center Wilmington, near Elsmere. He was 81.
Mr. Hedrick was born July 6, 1921, in Reading, Pa., son of the late Mable and Cyril N. Hedrick Sr.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.
Mr. Hedrick was a retired maintenance supervisor, having worked for several area companies including General Metalcraft and General Clothing.
He enjoyed fishing and outside yard work. In his recent illness, he enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together.
Mr. Hedrick was a life member of the VFW of the Clayton Post.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Hedrick, on Feb. 23, 1991.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Hedrick of Dover; and two brothers, Wesley Hedrick of Willow Grove, Pa., and Leon Hedrick of Glendora, Calif.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Chapel services will be noon Friday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Road, Bear.

Medford Hutson, 86
GREENSBORO, Md. - Medford Hutson of Greensboro died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Memorial Hospital at Easton, Easton. He was 86.
Mr. Hutson was born May 1, 1916, in Goldsboro, son of the late Joseph and Rosa Hutson.
He was employed with Pet Milk Co. in Greensboro for 25 years.
Mr. Hutson had the Citizens Band radio handle "Trader Tim" for approximately 35 years. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son; and a sister, Anna Bright.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruth M. Hutson; six children, Shirley Moore of Woodside, Del., Patsy Shockley of Clayton, Del., John Hutson of Cambridge, Medford D. Hutson of Denton, and Joe Hutson and Wayne Hutson, both of Greensboro; a brother, Joseph Hutson of Goldsboro; a sister, Mary Edwards of Denton; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home P.A., 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

Dorothy L. 'Dot' Kilson, 71
PONDTOWN, Md. - Dorothy L. "Dot" Kilson of Pondtown died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, in her home. She was 71.
Mrs. Kilson was born in Chestertown, daughter of the late Joseph Reese and Carrie Murray.
She received her education at Pondtown Elementary School in Pondtown, and Kennard High School in Centreville.
Mrs. Kilson was employed by Imperial Hotel as a housekeeper.
She had numerous hobbies, and she loved animals and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kilson was an active member of the Bordley Chapel A.M.E. Church, Pondtown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Medford A. Kilson Sr., on Aug. 16, 2002.
She is survived by four sons, Medford A. Kilson Jr. of Chestertown, John Edward Kilson and Carlton Vandelas Kilson, both of Pondtown, and Kevin Leon Kilson of Wilmington, Del.; two daughters, Lethea Patricia McClain of Pondtown and Carol Ann Kilson-Demby of Chester Harbor; an aunt, Reba Warren of Chestertown; a great-aunt, Ida Collier of Philadelphia; five brothers-in-law, Albert Kilson of Centreville, Garrison Kilson of Butlertown, Stanley Hansen of New York, N.Y., Levi Young of Felton, Del., and Jesse Tramel of New York City; four sisters-in-law, Annie Young of Felton, Gladys Virgus of Wilmington and Dorothy Hanson and Betty Kilson, both of New York City; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Community Baptist Church, Barclay, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Bedelia Commodore will officiate.
Burial will be in Boardly Chapel, Pondtown.

Lawrence D. Legates Sr., 84
MILFORD - Lawrence D. Legates Sr. of Milford died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, in Bayhealth/Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 84.
Mr. Legates was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Farmington, son of the late Willard and Delema Sullivan Legates.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific.
He was a service mechanic for Townsend Brothers Chevrolet in Dover for 16 years retiring in 1980.
Mr. Legates loved gardening, hunting, fishing and was a great NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bertha D. Legates; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence D. Jr. and Maggie Legates of Milford and Norman 'Skeeter' and Cordelia Legates of Frederica; a daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Richard Good, of Felton; two grandchildren, Lawrence D. Legates III and Jennifer Legates of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia Ann Lockwood, 47
SELBYVILLE - Patricia Ann Lockwood of Selbyville died of complications of surgery Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 47.
Miss Lockwood was born Feb. 22, 1955.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Lockwood.
She is survived by her mother, Bessie Lockwood of Selbyville; three brothers, Robert Leonard and Jerome Lockwood, both of Bishopville, Md., and Earl Lockwood Jr. of Selbyville; four sisters, Shirley Lockwood of Selbyville, Darlene Worthy of Ellendale, Letta Fletcher of Mobile, Ala., and Gloria Gray of Pine Brook, Ark.; 14 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and two children she raised, Elia Torres and Carlos Torres, both of Georgetown.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul United Methodist Church, Berlin, Md., where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Golden Acres Cemetery, Bishopville.

Patricia M. 'T.C.' Logan, 50
SEAFORD - Patricia M. "'T.C." Logan of Seaford died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, in Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was 50.
Mrs. Logan was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Cambridge, daughter of Albert A. Pete and the late Mary Rose Pritchett Pete. She had made her home in Seaford since 1968.
On Dec. 29, 1982, she was married to Gordon K. Logan.
She had attended schools in Cambridge.
She had worked at the Solo Cup Co. in Federalsburg for 24 years.
She enjoyed camping, working in her garden and also antiquing.
Some years ago she had attended Bucktown United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Murphy.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon K. Logan of Seaford; three children, Charronnia Marie Obier of Lewes, Reginna Khansa Walmsley of Dover and Carol Ann Logan of Seaford; three grandchildren, Joshua Scott Obier, Erica Brittney Teagle and Logan Marie Faircloth; her father, Albert A. Pete of Cambridge; three sisters, Eleanor Willey of East New Market, Frances Dierks and Betty Ann Bomberger, both of Cambridge; a brother, Albert A. Pete Jr. of Cambridge; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Thomas Funeral Home, Cambridge.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The Rev. George W. Wheatley Jr. will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Gordon K. Logan, George T. Logan, James E. Logan, George Shifferer, Joseph Pete, Robert Willey Jr. and Art Pete Jr.
Burial will follow in Dorchester Memorial Park.

Carol Mench Gorman, 61
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Carol Mench Gorman of Chestertown died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital. She was 61.
Mrs. Gorman was born Dec. 21, 1935, in Kent County Maryland, the daughter of the late William & Ida Benton Mench.
She graduated from Rock Hall High School, the class of 1956 and attended Chesapeake College. She received her LPN accreditation.
She then went to work for Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, where she worked for over 25 years retiring in 1990. She also worked at the Whitsitt Center until her illness.
Mrs. Gorman enjoyed family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Ida Dilks of Worton and D'Anna Gorman Drost of Columbia, S.C.; a son, James Gorman Jr. of Chestertown; four sisters, Maryland Pinder of Rock Hall, Mae Clark of Baltimore, Jean Creighton of Worton, and June Harn; two brothers, Ben Mench of Rock Hall and Phil Mench of Chestertown; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., in Chestertown, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Grace Bessie Ann 'Pocahontas' Milbourne, 52
SEAFORD - Grace Bessie Ann "Pocahontas" Milbourne of Seaford died of heart failure Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in her home. She was 52.
Mrs. Milbourne was born July 4, 1948, in Whaleyville, Md., the daughter of James H. Whaley and the late Annabelle Whaley.
She completed the 11th grade at William C. Jason High School in Georgetown.
Mrs. Milbourne worked at the Jesus Is Lord Christian Academy, as a cook, chauffeur and engineer technician, from September 1995 through February 1997.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and helping others.
Mrs. Milbourne was a member of Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance, Georgetown. She was also a member of the hospitality committee for the church.
She is survived by her husband, Flourid Milbourne; a son, James E. Whaley Jr.; seven grandchildren; 10 brothers, James Whaley of Berlin, Md., Robert Whaley of Selbyville, Carl Whaley of Salisbury, Md., Thomas Whaley of Millsboro, Carlton Whaley of Campbelltown, Md., Angelo Whaley and Howard Whaley, both of Georgetown, Thorton Whaley of Vienna, Md., Sherron Whaley of Rehoboth Beach, Monzie and Whaley of Ocean City, Md.; seven sisters, Joanne Williams, Patricia Harrell and Felicia Sheppard, all of Seaford, Heidi Hootten of Oceanview, Stephanie Whaley of Rehoboth Beach, Sheila Whaley of Cambridge, and Tina Whaley of Georgetown, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Service will be noon Saturday at Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance, where friends may call two hours prior to service. The Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bigelow will officiate.
Burial will be in Wesley United Methodist Church, Clarksville.

Paul Thomas Ridgaway, 54
RIVERDALE - Paul Thomas Ridgaway of Riverdale, formerly of Wilmington, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, in his home. He was 54.
Mr. Ridgaway was born in Wilmington, the son of Paul S. Ridgaway of Wilmington and the late Martha Hawks Ridgaway.
He was a tow truck operator for most of his life at the family business in Wilmington. He semi-retired to Millsboro a few year ago to live with his wife.
Mr. Ridgaway was an avid waterman, enjoying every aspect of the water. In his free time he also enjoyed fishing or crabbing. More than the water, he loved to cook, and was known by many for his delicious dishes. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He was an honorary member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Kathy E. Ridgaway; a son, Thomas Paul Ridgaway of Millsboro; a step son, Andrew Schrock of Georgetown; a step daughter, Jeri Hufnal of Millsboro; a brother, Allen Ridgaway of Wilmington; two sisters, Martha Pedicone and Robin Ridgaway, both of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott Ridgaway, Steven Michael Ridgaway, Stephanie and Andrew Hufnal.
Services and burial will be private.

Evelyn M. White, 84
ROCK HALL - Evelyn M. White of Rock Hall died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Corsica Hills Nursing Center, Centreville. She was 84.
Mrs. White was born June 13, 1916, in Newport, R.I., the daughter of the late Harry and Mae Louise Harding Rockey.
She worked in a candy store at a young age from which she had fond memories.
She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, and shopping.
Mrs. White made her home in Pennsylvania and retired to Rock Hall, Maryland where she was a member of the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post #228 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 652 in Millington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde H. White, June 29,1993.
She is survived by three brothers, Howard Rockey of South Carolina, Robert Rockey, and Thomas Rockey both of Philadelphia, Pa.; and those who gave her care during her illness, Pamela Ward, Vickie Ward, Beth Trego, and Angie Ward.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to: the American Legion Post 228, P.O. Box 207, Rock Hall, MD 21661.

Gale Patricia Ullmer Will, 57
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Gale Patricia Ullmer Will of Hilton Head Island died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Hilton Head Medical Center, Hilton Head Island, after a four month struggle with acute leukemia. She was 57.
Mrs. Will was born in Alexandria, Va., moving to Hilton Head Island in 1996.
She had worked for and traveled extensively for the U.S. State Department in Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Thailand.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Will; her father, Gerald Ullmer of Lewes, Del.; a son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Donna Marie Will of Hilton Head Island; and two grandchildren, Brenna Cailene Will and Kyle Frederick Will of Hilton Head Island.
Memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at St. Judes Catholic Church, Rt. 1 & Five Points in Lewes, Del.
Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.

Steven J. Zang, 43
EARLEVILLE, Md. - Steven J. Zang of Earleville died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 43.
Mr. Zang was born Sept. 9, 1957, in Wilmington, Del., the son of Theodore D. and Elizabeth Jane Bidgood Zang of Earleville.
He was a lifetime resident of Cecil County, graduating in 1975 from Bohemia Manor High School and in 1979 from Towson State University.
Mr. Zang worked as a land surveyor.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Zang was a member of the Earleville Red-Neck Riders Club, and Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kitt Warren Zang; two brothers, Curtis D. Zang of Newark, Del. and Michael Zang of Earleville; a sister Linda Z. Lloyd of Earleville; four nieces and five nephews.
A gathering of friends will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Archway Inn, Crystal Beach Rd. in Earleville.

Madeline Blake, 60
BALTIMORE - Madeline Blake of Baltimore died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, in Bon Secours, Baltimore. She was 60.
Ms. Blake was born May 28, 1941, daughter of the late Emory and Bertha Davis Blake.
She was raised in Warwick, and at age 18 went to work for the Rubin Family in Baltimore as their nanny, where she helped raise three children.
Ms. Blake was a life member of the Rehoboth Church of God, Middletown, Del., where she served as secretary, choir director, and Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by a sister, Bernice Blake of Cecilton; a brother, Emory Blake, and his wife, Frances, of Townsend, Del.; an aunt, Viola Campbell of Wilmington; two devoted cousins, Emma Jean Turner of Warwick and Doris Turner of Baltimore; a nephew, Orlando Johnson of New Castle; two nieces, Bonnie Blake of Middletown and La Trish Barnett of Elkton; and the Rubin family, Alan, John and Nancy.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Rehoboth Church of God, 209 E. Lake St., Middletown.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, 250 Booth St., Elkton.

Victor Ciganek, 86
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Victor Ciganek of Anchorage, formerly of Hurst, Texas, Harrington, Del., and Floral Park, N.Y., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in the home of his daughter, Victoria York. He was 86.
Mr. Ciganek was born April 19, 1915, son of the late Martin and Helen (Stach) Ciganek.
He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a radio operator in the 91st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, during World War II. He was a prisoner of war for 22 months in Stalag 9C Germany. He received the Purple Heart, Prisoner of War Medal and Air Medal.
Mr. Ciganek was a graduate of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., with a degree in drafting.
He was employed as a draftsman for 30 years in New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ciganek, in November 2000.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice C. and Mel Parquet of Harrington, Marie and Richard Prestianni, of Hurst and Victoria and Dave York of Anchorage; a sister, Ann Schreiner of New York; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington.

Sylvia Collick Conner, 76
GIRDLETREE, Md. - Sylvia Collick Conner of Girdletree died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, in Genesis Elder Care Nursing Center in Salisbury. She was 76.
Mrs. Conner was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Girdletree, daughter of the late Walter and Dollie Collick.
She was educated in the Worcester County public schools in Snow Hill.
She was employed at the board of education as an assistant for many years.
Mrs. Conner was a lifelong member of Coolspring United Methodist Church in Girdletree, where she served in many positions.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen Mills of Snow Hill and Delores Holloway of Salisbury; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Coolspring United Methodist Church in Girdletree.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
