Margaret Anne Mosley, 62
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Margaret Anne Mosley of Rockville and formerly of Kenton, Del., died of cancer Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, in Montgomery Hospice's Casey House, Rockville. She was 62.
Ms. Margaret was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Kenton, daughter of Mildred Wright-Mosley of Smyrna and the late Allen Mosley Sr.
She attended Smyrna Elementary School and later attended William Henry School.
Ms. Mosley was self-employed as a private-duty nurse who cared for people in their homes.
She had a special gift for caring for the elderly. She enjoyed reading the Bible, going to church, watching news and indulging herself in books. She was a very loving and kind woman.
Ms. Mosley was a member of Jerusalem-Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Rockville.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Nixon; a brother, Michael Mosley; and a niece, Carol Mosley.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Shirley Mosley of Smyrna; six brothers and two sisters-in-law, William and James Mosley, both of Smyrna, Allen Jr., Arnold and Catherine Dixon-Mosley, all of Clayton, Winfred and Diane Stevens-Mosley of Templeville and David Mosley of North Carolina; an aunt, Cora Wright of Smyrna; a devoted friend, Lillian Baker of Rockville; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be noon Monday at Jerusalem-Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 21 Wood Lane, Rockville. The Rev. Winifred J. Blagmond will officiate.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to hospice.

Esta Davidson, 74
FRANKFORD - Esta Davidson, of Frankford, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 74.
Mrs. Davidson was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Millville, daughter of the late Elisha and Ella Melson.
She was a homemaker and mother of eight children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Davidson Sr., and a son, Victor Davidson Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Davidson of Frankford and Curtis Davidson of Seaford; five daughters, Anna Davidson of Texas, Sara Boyce of Laurel, Martha Dinch of Frederica, Ruth Shrieves of Salisbury, Md., and Dolores Parks of Delmar Md.; two brothers, Donald Melson of Greenwood and Ken Melson of Frankford; a sister, Maggie Mitchell of Ocean View; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville.

Helen May Dust, 55
GREENWOOD - Helen May Dust of Greenwood formerly of Georgetown died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in her home. She was 55.
Mrs. Dust was born Oct. 17, 1947 in Chestertown, Md., daughter of the late Floyd and Helen Hunter Kemp.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dust was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
She was survived by her husband, Louis Everett Dust; and is survived by a son, Jeffrey Kemp of Greenwood; two brothers, Robert Kemp of Greensboro, Md., and Floyd Kemp of Federalsburg, Md.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

Louis Everett Dust, 72
GREENWOOD - Louis Everett Dust, of Greenwood, formerly of Georgetown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in his sister's home in Greensboro, Md. He was 72.
Mr. Dust was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Baltimore, son of the late William E. and Magdeine Heine Dust.
He was a chicken farmer in Georgetown, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Dust was a member of the First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen May Dust, on Jan. 15, 2003.
He is survived by a stepson, Jeff Kemp of Greenwood; three brothers, Donald Dust of Denton, Robert Dust of Federalsburg, Md., and William Dust of Tennessee; three sisters, Louise Payne of Tennessee, Estelle Hutson of Greensboro, Md., and Nancy Myers of Baltimore.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fleegle-Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A., Greensboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

Marie Elizabeth Jarman, 87
MILFORD - Marie Elizabeth Jarman, of Milford, formerly of Smyrna, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, surrounded by several members of her family in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 87.
Mrs. Jarman and her husband owned and operated a milling and broiler business in the Smyrna area for many years.
She was best known for her homemade ice cream business, Jarman's Ice Cream.
Mrs. Jarman recently resided at Heritage in Milford and formerly at Westminster Village in Dover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Jarman Sr., in 1990, and her youngest daughter, Deborah Adkin, who died Jan. 29, 2003, in North Carolina and will be interred with her mother.
She is survived by five sons, Capt. Harry E. Jarman Jr. of Milford, Donald Jarman Sr. of Felton, Roy L. Jarman Sr. of Clayton, and Thomas R. Jarman Sr. of West Jefferson, N.C.; four daughters, Mary Ann Larrimore of Felton, Arleen Ward of Snow Hill, Md., Vivian Helm of Federalsburg, Md., and Joan Middleton of Easton, Md.; two sisters, Ida Jeanette Fritz of Clearwater, Fla., and Cornelia Yakish of Georgetown; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Wesleyan Methodist Church, West Commerce Street, Smyrna.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
Burial will be in the Whaleysville Cemetery, Whaleysville, Md.

Arnold Bernard Bratcher, 74
PONDTOWN, Md. - Arnold Bernard Bratcher of Pondtown died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital. He was 74.
Mr. Bratcher was born in Pondtown, son of the late Hiram and Celia Taylor Bratcher.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He worked for the Chestertown Brick Co. in Chestertown for many years while the company was owned by the Schauber family. He then went to work for Dixon Valve & Coupling.
He enjoyed gardening and in his younger years he was involved with training thoroughbred horses.
Mr. Bratcher was a member of the Father's Day Club in Pondtown and had attended Boyers Chapel. He also was a former member of Parker White American Legion Post, Chestertown.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Audrey Bratcher; five daughters, B. Diane Bratcher of Pondtown, B. Denise Moore of Bear, Del., D. Arlene Bratcher and Leslie V. Bratcher both of Pondtown, and Vera L. Shorter of Huntsville, Ala.; three sisters, Helen Bratcher of Philadelphia, Dorothy Bratcher of Baltimore and Bernice Lively of Chestertown; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant Church, Pondtown, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.

Alfred Warren Dove Sr., 74
MILLINGTON, Md. - Alfred Warren Dove Sr. of Millington died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in his home. He was 74.
Mr. Dove was born in Harwood, son of the late Edward and Edith Anderson Dove.
He was a self-employed plumber, spending much of his career in River Dale, Prince George's County, for 20 years. He moved to Chesterville in 1970.
Mr. Dove enjoyed hunting, gardening and following the weather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Keith Dove, in 1976; and six brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Allene Fisher Dove; two sons, Alfred W. Dove Jr. of Galestown and Gary M. Dove of Church Hill; two daughters, Kathy Marie Dove Walls of Millington and Patricia Lynn Dove Leager of Marydel; two sisters, Eleanor Turner of Camp Springs and Edith Fuss of Stevensville; and a brother, William McLain Dove of Rock Hall.
Services will be private.

William R. Love, 86
ODESSA - William R. Love of Odessa died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, in Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 86.
Mr. Love was born in Upper Darby, Pa.
He retired from the DuPont Co., Christiana lab, after 25 years service.
Mr. Love served in the National Guard. He was an avid golfer and traveled to Ireland and Scotland to play. He also enjoyed working in his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Collins Love; a daughter, Margaret Love Olivero of Wilmington; two sons, William J. of Middletown and Thomas J. of New Castle; a brother, Robert Love of Pottstown, Pa.; a sister, Ruth Henry of Havertown, Pa., nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, West Cochran Street, Middletown, where friends may also call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Hartnett McKernan, 85
SMYRNA - Mary Hartnett McKernan of Smyrna died of natural causes Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 85.
Mrs. McKernan was born in Marydel.
She was a 1933 graduate of John Bassett Moore High School, Smyrna.
Mrs. McKernan served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in the 1940s.
She and a sister, Margaret Buxton of Smyrna, operated M and M Restaurant in Blackbird during the late 1940s. She retired from Playtex in Dover after 25 years of service. Later in life, she worked as a waitress at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Smyrna, and at the Smyrna Diner. Most recently she was employed by the state of Delaware as an information specialist at the Smyrna Rest Area Visitors Information Bureau.
Her hobbies included china painting, watching NFL football and enjoying wildlife, birds and pets. She also enjoyed planting and watching her favorite flowers bloom. She was loved by all who knew her.
Mrs. McKernan was a member of David C. Harrison Post 14 American Legion Auxiliary, Smyrna, for 32 years. She was also a life member of VFW Post 8801, Clayton, and a member of the 20th Century Club of Smyrna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Clara Hartnett; her husband, Stephen McKernan; a brother, William "Pat" Hartnett; and a sister, Helen Postles.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen G. and Leslie McKernan of Parkersburg, W. Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Clara Hartnett of Dover; two other sisters and two brothers-in-law, Verna and Pat McCutchen of Milford and Kitty and Grey Budd of Smyrna; two granddaughters, Stephanie McKernan and Jenny McKernan, both of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial with military honors will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Anthony Oney, 39
DOVER - Anthony Oney of Dover, formerly of Millsboro, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in Christiana Hospital of Christiana Care, Newark. He was 39.
Mr. Oney was born Jan. 23, 1962, in Lewes, son of Marie Oney of Georgetown and George Pruitt of Seaford.
He attended Sussex Central High School in Georgetown.
He attended Union Baptist Church in Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Pruitt Jr.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Milton J. Oney Jr., and his wife, Virginia, of Georgetown, Antonio "Tony" Oney, and his wife, Betsy, of Dover, Richard "Rick" Pruitt of Dallas and Brandon Baynard of Milford; four sisters, Lorinda Johnson, and her husband, Terrell, and Sherleen Oney Sutton, and her husband, Gregory, all of Dover, Vietta Fooks of Dallas and Cynthia Pruitt of Bridgeville; a special friend, Lisa Wingo; eight aunts; and an uncle, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Union Baptist Church, Lincoln, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Raymond Fisher will officiate.

Helen M. Sauerwine, 83
DOVER - Helen M. Sauerwine of Dover died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001, in Westminster Village Health Center, Dover. She was 83.
Mrs. Sauerwine was born April 25, 1918, in Asland, Pa., daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (Wertz) Glesser.
She worked many years as a seamstress.
She enjoyed traveling and needlework.
Mrs. Sauerwine was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Dover.
She is survived by her husband, Earl J. Sauerwine of Dover; a brother, Harry L. Glessner of Pinellas Park, Fla; a stepson, Leroy E. Sauerwine of Wembley, England; a grandson, Andrew D. Sauerwine of Wembly; and a granddaughter, Gemma Eminowicz of Wembley.
Remembrance services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Dover.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Clarence Lawrence Wheeler Jr., 60
FELTON - Clarence Lawrence Wheeler Jr. of Felton died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, in Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. He was 60.
Mr. Wheeler was born July 25, 1941, in Ridgely, Md., son of Virgie Carter and the James Hunley.
He was educated in the Caroline County public school system.
He worked for Salisbury Brothers for 30 years and Norris Hayman for 10 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ellen Mundy and Shelly Oglesby.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Loretta; his children, Clarence Wayman of Denton, Tyrone Heath of Dover, Tiffany Henry of Greensboro and Teresa Leggett of Wilmington; seven sisters, Dorene Johnson of Felton, Connie Wheeler and Shirlyn Wheeler, both of Dover, Mary Malichi, Teresa Ameer-Bay, Laverne Taylor and Sherita Barnes, all of Wilmington; four brothers, Dwayne Wheeler of Dover, Merrill S: Blake of Boyce, La., Maurice Oglesby and Harry Tyler, both of Wilmington; a brother-in-law, David Thomas "Baby Lawrence"; a devoted uncle, Gilbert Warner, 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were Tuesday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover.

Clark Brittingham, 86
FELTON - Clark Brittingham of Felton died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in Country Rest Home, Greenwood. He was 86.
Mr. Brittingham was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a supervisor at Playtex Co., retiring in 1980.
Mr. Brittingham was a lifetime member of Felton Community Fire Co., a member of the Felton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6009, American Legion Post 7 in Harrington, Harrington Moose Lodge 534, Felton I.O.O.F. 30 and the Harrington Senior Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Anna Clark Brittingham; and by his wife, Margery Carter Brittingham.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carter A. and Christine Brittingham of Church Hill, Md.; a daughter, Mayor Sandy Cook of Henderson, Md.; a brother, Clayton Brittingham of Wilmington; two sisters, Pearl Woodring of Naples, Fla., and Doris Degnats of Felton; and four grandchildren, Darrell Brittingham, Jesse Cook III, Casey Cook and Roy Cook.

William Dorsey 'Dutch' Clendaniel, 88
GREENWOOD - William Dorsey "Dutch" Clendaniel of Greenwood died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 88.
Mr. Clendaniel was born Jan. 28, 1916, in Lincoln, son of the late George and Jennie Masten Clendaniel.
He was an insurance salesman for Equitable Life Insurance Co. in Dover for many years. He also owned and operated a poultry farm with his late wife.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He cared greatly for his family and friends.
Mr. Clendaniel was a member of the Bethany Church of the Brethren in Farmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Speicher Clendaniel, in October 2003; three sisters, Sara Mills, Etta Mills and Bert Lautenberger; and a brother, Roscoe Clendaniel.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Lee and Richard Hynson of Missoula, Mont.; a son, Drew and Wanda Clendaniel of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Jarod and Josh Hynson, and Michael Clendaniel; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Alyssa, and Brianna; and a brother, George Ira Clendaniel of Lincoln.
Services will be noon Wednesday in the Bethany Church of the Brethren, Farmington, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Marion L. Foxwell, 72
LAUREL - Marion L. Foxwell of Laurel died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He was 72.
Mr. Foxwell was born in Delmar, son of the late Harry M. and Louise B. Foxwell.
He retired in 1976 after 20 years of service as a traffic lieutenant with the Delaware State Police, Troop 5 in Bridgeville. He also worked as an insurance auditor and inspector for Selected Risks Insurance Co. in Georgetown.
He loved the Baltimore Orioles and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was always very proud of his fish pond and his dog Abby.
Mr. Foxwell was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar, the Association for Retired Delaware State Police, AARP and the USS Pine Island AV-12 Association. He was a former member of the Delmar High School board of education and a lifetime member of the Delmar Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Louise P. Foxwell; two sons, a daughter-in-law and one son's fiancee, Barney R. Foxwell and Donna Foskey, both of Salisbury, and Rex A. and Lee Foxwell of Selbyville; a daughter, Dawn L. Smith of Laurel; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Harry Lane and Virginia Foxwell of Delmar and Roger D. and Patricia Foxwell of Salisbury; eight grandsons, B.J. Foxwell, Lance Foxwell, Troy Foxwell, William Mountz, Jason Mountz, Andrew Foxwell, Jason Russell and Josh Russell; six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Katelyn, Harry, Nolan, Hailey and Trenton; and a niece, Ronda Cooper.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St. in Delmar, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Joseph E. James, chaplain for the Delaware State Police, will officiate.
Burial will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, Md.

Retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Robert M. 'Iggy' Ireland, 71
DENTON, Md. - Retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Robert Maurice "Iggy" Ireland of Denton died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in his home, surrounded by the final embraces of his family and God. He was 71.
Mr. Ireland was born near Oil City, Oct. 5, 1932, son of the late Robert Peter and Mabel Lee (Lane) Ireland.
After graduating from Denton High School in 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and continued his service domestically and overseas until he retired in 1969. His active duty afforded him three tours in Korea, two of them during the Korean War, a tour of Japan, two extended tours in West Germany and he also served as a military advisor in South Vietnam, which earned him the Bronze Star. Listed among his other awards are the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Republic of Korea War Service Medal (with two Bronze Service Stars), Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of South Vietnam Service Award.
After his military career, he went to work at I.E. Dupont Nemours in Seaford, Del., from which he retired in 1992 after 21 years of service, as a shift supervisor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Palmer Ireland; a niece, Linda (Ireland) Haller; his stepmother, Nellie Smith Ireland; and a brother-in-law, Alois Geppert.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Renate A. (Oheimer) Ireland; a son, Robert S. Ireland of Denton; a daughter, Patricia A. Ireland of Denton; his granddaughter, Anna A. Ireland of Denton; a brother and a sister-in-law, Francis T. and Eleanor (Cade) Ireland of Seaford, Del; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Betty (Takeda) Ireland of Columbia, S.C.; Gertrud (Oheimer) and Friederich Hagner of Wechingen, Germany, and Hildegard (Oheimer) Geppert of Wechingen; four nephews, Thomas F. Ireland of Annapolis, Daniel M. Ireland of Columbia, Christian of Wechingen, and, Dieter Geppert and his partner, Ida Dixon of Ansbach, Germany; two nieces and their husbands, Jacquelyn K. Ireland and Neil Kirkwood of Columbia and Renate (Geppert) and Hans Bogendorfer of Augsburg; and many, cousins, neighbors, friends and former comrades in arms and their families.
