Marie Kellam, 75
SEAFORD - Marie Kellam of Seaford died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 75.
Ms. Kellam was born June 21, 1927, in Onancock, Va., daughter of the late Alfred and Amanda Stewart Kellam.
She had worked at Townsend Poultry.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and watching television movies.
Ms. Kellam was a past member of St. Matthews First Baptist Church, Laurel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Cherrie Kellam Allen Bolden and Sylvia Johnson; three sisters, Henrietta West, Mary "Mae" Brown and Priscilla Conquest; and a brother, Sam Henry "Sammy" Kellam.
She is survived by four children, Chauncey Kellam of Lincoln, Florence M. Stanley and Rosalee Johnson, both of Laurel, and Betty Kellam of Bridgeville; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Framptom-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home PA, Federalsburg, Md.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews First Baptist Church, Laurel, where friends may also call two hours earlier. The Rev. Carol S. Hopkins will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Dorothy May Lindsay, 86
QUAKER NECK, Md. - Dorothy May Lindsay of Quaker Neck died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown. She was 86.
Mrs. Lindsay was born in Quaker Neck, daughter of the late Sylester and Ann Saunders Lindsay.
She was educated in a little one-room public-school house in Johnontown, across the road from her home.
Mrs. Lindsay was employed as a domestic worker for several families in the Kent County area.
At an early age, she joined Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Pomona, where she was a faithful member until her health failed. She was a member of the Usher Board, the Senior Choir, the Worship Committee and the United Methodist Women. She was in charge of the Christian Personhood and Kent & Queen Anne's Hospital Auxiliary Unit 2.
She cherished her close, loving relationship with her sisters, who were affectionately known as the Lindsay sisters. Her favorite hymn and Scripture passage was "Blessed Assurance" and Psalm 139.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Harris Sr.; a son, Thomas Edward Harris Jr.; a daughter, Sylvia Harris Commodore; a sister, Eunice Lindsay Barrett; a brother, Donald L. Lindsay; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Brown Harris; and a son-in-law, Stanley Commodore.
She is survived by two sons, Bernard and Richard Harris of Chestertown; three sisters, Gladys Gilbert, Louise Johnson and Vivian Isaaca, all of Chestertown; a brother, Thomas R. Lindsay of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Harris of Easton; a brother-in-law, William Isaaca of Chestertown; a sister-in-law, Christine Lindsay of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren, including one, Rita Thomas Phillips, whom she raised; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Pomona.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Gonazlee Matthew will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Glenn Albert Mitchell, 81
GEORGETOWN - Glenn Albert Mitchell of Georgetown died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 81.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Georgetown, son of the late Peter and Ida Mae (Messick) Mitchell.
He was a truck driver for Layton and Layton, Georgetown, for 17 years, and retired from Draper King Cole, Milton. He also was co-owner of Naomi's Market, Georgetown, until 1991.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of the Georgetown American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Pettyjohn Mitchell; two sons, Wayne Sr. and Linden P. Mitchell, both of Georgetown; a daughter, Glenda Kay Mitchell of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Wayne Mitchell Jr. and Theresa Mitchell; and a great-granddaughter, Cathy Mitchell Smith.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Karryl Joye Moore, 72
DOVER - Karryl Joye Moore of Dover died of pneumonia Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 72.
Mrs. Moore was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Hampton, Va., daughter of the late David and Mabel Henry.
She received her early education at Salisbury (Md.) Elementary and High School. Following high school, she attended Hampton Institute. She graduated from Morgan State College, Baltimore, with a degree in chemistry and biology. She later continued her education at Delaware State College and became a teacher in the Delaware public-school system.
She traveled extensively with her family and taught school in Japan and Turkey.
Mrs. Moore joined the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority while attending Morgan and became a charter member in the graduate chapter of the sorority in Wilmington.
She is survived by her son, Charlie W. Moore Jr. of Philadelphia; a sister and brother-in-law, Annette H. and Clifton Hubbard; two nieces and their husbands, Mable H. and Charles Blackmon of Greensboro, N.C., and Karryl H. and Alex McManus of Bear; a great-niece, Chloe A. Blackmon of Greensboro; two aunts, Clara Henry and Isabella Henry, both of Philadelphia; and three cousins, Eunice Hardy of Berlin, Md., and Molly Fields and Diane Henry, both of Philadelphia.
Services will be noon Saturday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills, Dover.
William Calvin Richmond, 65
DOVER - William Calvin Richmond of Dover died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 65.
Mr. Richmond was born June 8, 1937, in Covington, Va., daughter of the late Amos C. Richmond and Mabel Viola Davis Richmond.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1978 after 23 years of active duty and 15 years of civil service.
Mr. Richmond enjoyed bowling and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Renate Keim Richmond of Dover; three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Thom McFarland of Ashland, Ky., Katherine and Mark Homewood, and Natalie and Glen Miller, all of Dover; a brother, Samuel P. Richmond of Hot Springs, Va.; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Scott Dee of Georgia; a nephew, Kevin Lilly of Georgia; three grandchildren; and a step-grandson.

Mary Lee Rickards, 71
GEORGETOWN - Mary Lee Rickards of Georgetown and formerly of Elizabeth City, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 71.
Mrs. Rickards was born in Elizabeth City, daughter of the late James and Pattie Lamb Gilbert.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clarence Rickards Sr.; five sons, Willie Lee Rickards of Springfield, Mo., Clarence Rickards Jr. of Georgetown, John W. Rickards of Lincoln, William T. Rickards of Harbeson and Daniel Rickards of Milford; a daughter, Pattie Hamilton of Georgetown; a sister, Dollie Oberman of Williamston, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Robert A. Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.
Eunice S. Royce, 87
REHOBOTH BEACH - Eunice S. Royce of Rehoboth Beach died, following a long illness, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Christiana Care Medical Center, Newark. She was 87.
Mrs. Royce made a career as a loving wife and mother, while working alongside her husband in the businesses they owned, Royce's Restaurant, a Montgomery Ward franchise and Royce's Mini Mall. She retired in 2002.
She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles D. Royce; her parents, John and Hattie Stockley; a sister, Margaret Stockley; and a granddaughter, Gail Ann Melson.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy R. and Rancel Evans Sr. and Gail R. and Randy Sturdavant; five grandchildren, Marsha Medford, Dorinda Jones, Kimberly Melson, Rancel Evans Jr. and Renee Sturdavant; a brother, William Stockley; three great-grandsons; and three loving nieces.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

James A. Martin, 88
MILLVILLE - James A. Martin of Millville died Thursday, June 3, 2004, in his home. He was 88.
Mr. Martin was born April 13, 1916, in Mount Carmel, Pa., son of the late James and Savilla (Stine) Martin.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Martin had been an inspector for General Motors in Baltimore, retiring in 1972 after 35 years of service. He also had worked in the senior companion program.
He enjoyed playing cards and billiards with his friends. During his illness, he enjoyed going to Friendly's Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.
Mr. Martin was a member of the Pyle Center, River Senior Center and American Legion Post 28.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine R. (Cane) Martin, Nov. 29, 2000; four sisters, Savilla Martin, Mary Martin, Margaret Hancock and Agnes Morris, all of whom had lived in Mount Carmel; a grandson, James Carroll, in 1995; a son-in-law, Bill Sharp, who had lived in Georgetown; and the family cat, Nina, in 2000.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, James and Loretta Martin of York, Pa., and Paul and Lee Martin of Baltimore; three daughters and a son-in-law, Christine D. Martin of Millville, Rosemarie and Donald Carroll of Baltimore and Judy Sharp of Georgetown; a sister, Anna Newton, and a brother-in-law, Louie Morris, both of Mount Carmel; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and the family cat, Kitty Cat.

Clifford L. Oliphant, 65
GREENWOOD - Clifford L. Oliphant of Greenwood died Monday, June 7, 2004, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 65.
Mr. Oliphant was born in Salisbury, Md., son of late Preston N. and Mildred Smith Oliphant.
He retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service, serving in the infantry and chemical branches. He saw combat duty in Vietnam.
Mr. Oliphant owned and operated Oliphant Irrigation Co., and had worked at the Georgetown Division of Motor Vehicles facility and for the police department in Greenwood and Bridgeville.
He enjoyed target shooting with his son and doing all kinds of woodworking, and was known for making bunk beds.
Mr. Oliphant was a life member of Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7478 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was very active in the Boy Scouts, serving as scoutmaster in Greenwood, Bridgeville and Germany. He attended Church of God in Dagsboro and Bridgeville.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty Ellingsworth Oliphant; a son, Dan Oliphant of Middletown; a daughter, Lolita K. Kringe of Greenwood; his mother, Lola Mae Oliphant of Salisbury; a sister, Charlotte Ann Meilhammer of Delmar, Md.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, West Market Street, Greenwood, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Roy W. Reichhold, 83
MILFORD - Roy W. Reichhold of Milford died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 83.
Mr. Reichhold was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Ralph George Reichhold and Minnie (Scheller) Reichhold. As a boy, he summered with his family in Rehoboth Beach.
He was a 1946 graduate of Thiel College in Greenville, Pa.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
In 1953, he and his brother purchased Danegger's Nursery on U.S. 113 north of Milford and operated it until 1984,when he retired.
Mr. Reichhold was a member of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol as a young man and had been an Eagle Scout and later a scoutmaster. He was also a past president of the Milford Lions Club, and was a charter member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford. He was inducted into the Delaware Association of Nurserymen Hall of Fame in 1989.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Ralph Reichhold, in 1981; and his son-in-law, William C. Zuck Jr., in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie (McDonough) Reichhold; a son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Pamela Reichhold of Austin, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan G. Zuck of Foxboro, Mass., Nancy R. and David Haines of Taipei, Taiwan, and Jan R. and Donn Steele of Rehoboth Beach; and 10 grandchildren.

Lillian M. Smith, 81
SEAFORD - Lillian M. Smith of Seaford, formerly of Pot Nets and Bear, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in her home. She was 81.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Long Neck United Methodist Church and was formerly a member of Red Lion United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel J. Smith Jr., in 1998; and her parents, Charles and Mabel Graham.
She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, whom she lived with, Pam and Jim Shultie; a brother and a sister-in-law, Howard and Jean Graham of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Christopher Schaffers, Heather Schaffers and Michael Schaffers.

Nancy May Hastings Smith, 45
DELMAR - Nancy May Hastings Smith of Delmar died Monday, June 7, 2004, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 45.
Mrs. Smith was born May 23, 1959, in Salisbury, Md., daughter of Roland James Hastings of Ocean City, Md., and Elva Margaret Ann Davis of Delmar.
She was a graduate of Sussex Central High School and attended vocational school for horticulture study.
She worked in kitchens of several restaurants.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed painting velvet paintings, loved to travel and was an avid dog lover, especially of her dog "Killer."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil H. Smith, May 29, 2002 and her stepfather, Thomas Davis.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Winfred J. Hastings of Gumboro; an aunt, Bonnie Scott of Delmar; and two uncles, Merrill Tyndall of Delmar, Md., and Russell Tyndall of Georgetown.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in St. John's A.M.E Church at Ross Point in Laurel, where friends also may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Oris Fields will officiate.
Burial will be in Line Cemetery, Delmar.

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kristen C. Larrimore of Manhattan died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in St. Joseph Village in Manhattan. She was 45.

Lloyd V. Armour, 99
HOUSTON - Lloyd V. Armour of Houston died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in Harbor Healthcare, Lewes. He was 99.
Mr. Armour was born in Houston, son of the late George V. and Sally Voshell Armour.
He worked for Simpson Lumber Co. in Camden as a carpenter, retiring in 1965.
Mr. Armour was a member of Houston United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Armour; two sons, Ralph Armour and Donald Armour; and a great-grandson, Todd Layton.
He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis M. Minner of Milford, and Beatrice Layton of Harrington; a son, Leslie Armour of Milford; two sisters, Gladys Jerread of Milford and Ruth Buarque of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.

Howard B. Faust, 85
MILFORD - Howard B. Faust of Milford died Monday, June 7, 2004, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 85.
Mr. Faust was born May 13, 1919, in Clifton Heights, Pa., son of the late Harry and Helen Howarth Faust.
He served in the Army Air Corps with the 325th Fighter Group during World War II. His Group was stationed in North Africa and Italy and received two Presidential Citations. Mr. Faust was awarded the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and the Air Medal.
After returning from duty, he was employed as a transportation/contract officer with the Civil Service at Fort Miles in Lewes. In 1962, he accepted the position of manager of the Shawnee Country Club in Milford, where he was also a member. He left there in 1971 to work for Major Distributors in Milford as their Downstate sales manager, where he remained for 14 years, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Faust was an avid golfer and gin rummy player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Anna S. Faust, in 1984.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marian A. Day; a son, Richard Faust of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three stepsons, Dick Palmer of Rehoboth Beach, Scott Day of Greensboro, N.C., and Lance Day of Walkersville, Md.; two brothers, Robert Faust of Rehoboth Beach and Harry Faust of Lewes; two sisters, Norma Clark of Milton and Doris Crisson of Belews Creek, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Mary Blyman Johnson, 72
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Mary Blyman Johnson of Chestertown died Sunday, June 6, 2004, in Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown. She was 72.
Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Melitota, near Chestertown, daughter of the late Edward Lambert and Dorothy Elizabeth Edwards Plummer. She married William Franklin Blyman on March 24, 1950, and they resided in Chestertown, where she raised her family. On Oct. 22, 1988, she married George H. "Bummy" Johnson; together they enjoyed traveling and camping.
She was a 1949 graduate of Chestertown High School.
She loved to crab, fish, dance, bowl and enjoyed playing cards.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Chestertown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Franklin Blyman, July 28, 1982.
In addition to her husband, George H. "Bummy" Johnson, she is survived by a daughter, Sheila M. Dlugoborski of Lynch; four sons, James F. Blyman, William F. Blyman Jr., Mark E. Blyman and David L. Blyman, all of Worton; a stepson, Don W. Johnson of Milton, Del.; a sister, Elizabeth Erisman of Middle River; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
