Ricky A. 'Big Rick' Willey, 41
SEAFORD - Ricky A. "Big Rick" Willey of Seaford died of complications of cancer Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 41.
Mr. Willey was a machine operator for the DuPont Co. in Seaford for 18 years.
He was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his parents, James and Faye Willey of Seaford; his wife, Janet Willey; four children, Ashley, Ricky A. Jr., Tara and Jamie; a brother and sister-in-law, James Willey II and Christy Willey of Trappe, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Bob Terry of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.
Veronica T. 'Ronnie' Coleman, 75
DOVER - Veronica T. "Ronnie" Coleman of Dover died of natural causes Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in Bayhealth Medical Center-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 75.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late John W. and Mary Costello Kelly.
She and her family moved from Kenilworth, N.J., to Dover in 1963. She had served as an elementary-school teacher at Holy Cross School until her retirement in 1983.
In her private time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered as a champion of the elderly and those who were less fortunate. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine and had been a longtime instructor at Holy Cross. She also had served as a Eucharistic minister and had tended to the needs of the infirm and the elderly. She was a volunteer for the Blood Bank of Delaware and for Mom's House, and had served on the board of directors of Saint Thomas More Academy.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William L. Coleman of Dover; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Alicia and Craig Parson of Lawrenceville, N.J., Marianne and Mark Letavish of Bel Air, Md., and Katie and Mick Soyka of Rehoboth Beach; a sister, Mary Coleman of North Arlington, N.J.; and five grandchildren, Elise Letavish, Tim Letavish and Sean Letavish, all of Bel Air, and Michael Soyka and Ben Soyka, both of Rehoboth Beach.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Ethel M. Sears Hill, 55
GEORGETOWN - Ethel M. Sears Hill of Georgetown died, after a short illness, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in the Seaford Center, Seaford. She was 55.
Mrs. Hill was born in Camden, N.C., daughter of Cleveland Walston of Camden and Minnie Sears Sample of Millsboro.
She had been a self-employed child-care worker.
Mrs. Hill attended St. John's A.M.E. Church in Laurel and Missionary Baptist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 18 years, Ronald Hill; two brothers, Eddie Sears of Germany and Raymond Sears of Newark; two sisters, Brenda Garcia of Newport News, Va., and Carolyn Sample of Rehoboth Beach; and a special friend, Betty Smith of Georgetown.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 9 west of Georgetown, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Judson Garrison, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery in Selbyville.

George Henry Morris Jr., 62
MARYDEL, Md. - George Henry Morris Jr. of Marydel died of natural causes Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 62.
Mr. Morris was born June 27, 1940, in Clayton, Del., son of the late George Henry Morris Sr. and Lillian Mae Morris.
He was a lifetime resident of the Eastern Shore and had worked as an independent truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Henry Morris, in 1994; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara (Lister) Morris; Robert Lister of Smyrna, Del., whom he raised since Robert was a young boy; four daughters, Lillian "Peachie" Haynes of Smyrna, Alice Marie Lister of Ridgely and Jane Morris and Ruth Ann Morris, both of Camden, Del.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Sunday in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.

C. Frederick 'Ted' Norris, 95
QUEEN ANNE, Md. - C. Frederick "Ted" Norris of Queen Anne died of natural causes Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, in his home. He was 95.
Mr. Norris born in Denton, son of the late William Isaac Morris and Anna J. Wright Norris.
He was a graduate of Washington College, where he excelled in football, track and field, and basketball. In 1927, he was captain of the football team. He was inducted into the Washington College Hall of Fame Oct. 9, 1981. During his college years, he also was active in student government and also had acted in the Chautauqua show.
Mr. Norris was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married the former Frances Sneed in 1939. They lived for a few years in Baltimore before moving to Queen Anne. Mrs. Norris died Oct. 13, 1999. Mr. Norris was an accountant for Crouse Oil in Denton, retiring in 1970.
Mr. Norris was a member of the Queen Anne-Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He also was a 27-year life member of the Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Co., whereof he served on the Board of Directors, had held the offices of secretary and treasurer, helped with fund-raisers and was always there when needed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Isaac Norris Jr.; a sister, Helen McClain; and also by Mary Sneed Eaton, whom he and Mrs. Norris had raised from early childhood.
He is survived by a son, Charles F. "Ted" Norris Jr. of Litchfield, N.H.; two daughters, Susan H. Funk of Baltimore and Kathleen Sherman of Ocean Pines; six grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Crouse of Denton
Graveside committal service for both Mr. Norris and his wife will be 3 p.m. Friday in Denton Cemetery, Denton.

Gertrude A. 'Sis' O'Toole, 79
GALENA, Md. - Gertrude A. "Sis" O'Toole of Galena died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in her home. She was 79.
Mrs. O'Toole was born May 16, 1923, in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Newton and Florence Hunt Stein.
She was employed by Acme Markets for 32 years in the meat department, working in Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del., and retiring in 1981. She and her husband had lived in Wilmington for 30 years before moving to Gregg Neck in 1978.
Mrs. O'Toole was a member of Kennedyville United Methodist Church, the Lower Cecil County Senior Citizens, the Ladies of Galena Lions Club and Meat Cutters Local 56.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edward O'Toole, in 1992.
She is survived by a brother, Elwood Stein of Texas; a sister, Mary Pilipzeck of Philadelphia; three nieces, Kathy Vaillancourt, Deborah Gramlick and Karen Owens; three nephews, Eddie Pilipzeck, Harry Pilipzeck and Bill Stein; five grand-nieces; and three grand-nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Galena Cemetery, Galena.

Janet Thompson Williams, 76
WYOMING - Janet Thompson Williams of Wyoming died peacefully, after a valiant struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 76.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Birdsboro, Pa., daughter of the late George and Ella Thompson.
She graduated from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College (now University) in 1949 and, in August of the same year, moved to Delaware.
Mrs. Williams taught elementary physical education in the Caesar Rodney School District for 27 years, retiring in 1988.
She loved her family, friends, church, pool, the beach and the sunshine. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, shopping and craft-making. She also enjoyed volunteering at the elementary schools.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church and its choir, a lifetime member of the Garden Club of Dover and a founding member of the Rodney Dinner Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David Lloyd Williams, May 11, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary W. and Patrick Conlon of Smyrna and Amy W. and Jack Griffith of Apopka, Fla.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert R. and Deborah Williams of Elkton, Md., and William J. and DeAnne Williams of West Chester, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and the respective spouses of four, Tim and Nancy Conlon of Smyrna, Jeremy and Laura Conlon of Bryn Mawr, Pa., Kate and Tyler Miller of Hoboken, N.J., Alicia and John Sturgill, Jessica Williams and Rachel Williams, all of Elkton, JoDe Hendrick, Jill Hendrick and Parker Williams, all of West Chester, and Joshua Sipple of Apopka; three great-grandchildren, David Conlon of Smyrna and Scott Sturgill and Caleb Sturgill, both of Elkton; two sisters, Joella Bradshaw and Sally Steinhauer, both of Orange, Va.; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Robert and Betty Thompson and George and Barbara Thompson, all of Birdsboro, and Fred and Marge Thompson of Lexington Park, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Services will be noon Wednesday in Wyoming United Methodist Church, 107 Broad St., Wyoming.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
