Marion E. Tressler Mitchell, 82
SEAFORD - Marion E. Tressler Mitchell of Seaford, formerly of Johnstown, Pa., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Genesis Elder Care Seaford Center, Seaford. She was 82.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Mitchell, July 13, 2000.
She is survived by her son, James E. Mitchell of Seaford; her daughter, Bonnie J. Wrazien of Stroudsburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cranston Funeral Home, 300 Shipley St., Seaford.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
Margaret A. Sharpe, 79
FREDERICA - Margaret A. Sharpe of Frederica died of heart failure Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in her daughter's home. She was 79.
Mrs. Sharpe was born in Richardson Park.
Early in her life Mrs. Sharpe was a preacher at the Small Woods Church in Wilmington for five years. She took time off to raise her family, then re-entered the work force as a nurse's aide. She worked for VNA, then went into private duty until her retirement in 1986.
Mrs. Sharpe was a very caring and loving person, always wanting to help her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Sharpe Sr., in 1989; her son, John W. Sharpe, in 1991; and a brother, William Seney.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret A. Cornwell of Milford; five sons, George Sharpe Jr. of Wilmington, James Sharpe of Palm Springs, Calif., William Sharpe of Milford and Aaron Sharpe and Adrian Sharpe of Frederica; three brothers, John W. Seney of Ohio, Ralph Seney of California and Vernon Seney of Wilmington; two sisters, Ann Jennings of Chester, Pa., and Evelyn Seney of New Jersey; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Price Funeral Home, 6 Dorman St., Harrington, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
Myrtle A. Daniels, 80
SMYRNA - Myrtle A. Daniels, of Smyrna, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 80.
Services for Mrs. Daniels have been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 217 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call after 1:30 am.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Donald M. 'Donnie' Evans, 65
MILFORD - Donald M. "Donnie" Evans of Milford died of cancer Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in his home surrounded by his family. He was 65.
Services with full fireman's honors has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carlisle Fire Co., 615 N.W. Front St., Milford.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Irene B. Groff
HOUSTON - Irene B. Groff of Houston, formerly of East Orange and Rochelle Park, N.J., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Groff, who was known as "Ronnie," was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late R. Nelson and Lana Carr Bornemann.
She grew up in East Orange, graduating from Orange High School. She attended college and graduated from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, Fredericksburg, Va.
She began her career as an editor at Oxford University Press in New York City in 1949 and remained there until 1956. She was later a remedial reading teacher in New Jersey from 1968-1971 and then an editor at the Hayden Book Co., also in New Jersey, from 1972-1987.
Mrs. Groff was a very active member of St. Agnes Episcopal Church in East Orange, and later St. Peter's Episcopal Church, in Rochelle Park, parishes where her husband served as rector. After their move to Delaware, she was a parishioner at Christ Church in Milford, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Harrington and St. John's Episcopal Church in Milton.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, The Rev. Addison K. Groff; two sons, David Groff of New York City, and Jonathan Groff of Los Angeles; a daughter-in-law, Martha Blakeley Chowning; a son-in-law, Clay Williams; and two grandchildren, Medora and Edwin Groff.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Raughley Hill Road, Harrington.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, South Queen Street, Lancaster, Pa.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund, PO Box 12043, Newark, NJ 07101, (www.er-d.org) or to any organization that promotes peace and social justice.
Miriam J. Mast, 78
WALNUT CREEK - Miriam J. Mast of Walnut Creek, formerly of Dover, died after a brief illness Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in Walnut Hills Nursing Home. He was 78.
Mrs. Mast was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Grantsville, Md., daughter of the late Jacob J. and Magdalena D. "Mattie" Mast Gingerich.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mast was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Y. Mast on March 9, 1988.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Malinda and Henry J. Miller of Chestertown, Md., Martha Ann and Melvin A. Byler of Dade City, Fla., Elmina and Samuel A. Miller of Worton, Md., and Anna Mae and Eli J. Hershberger of Dover, Ohio; five sons and daughters-in-law, John H. and Iva Mast of North Canton, Ohio, E. Wayne and Wilma Mast of Dover, Jacob Y. and Mary Ann Mast of Tallahassee, Fla., Bennie H. and Christine Mast of Dover and Elmer H. Mary Mast of Florida; a twin brother, Henry J. Ginerich of Dover; 47 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. today in the Smith-Geib Funeral Home, Sugarcreek. Friends may also call 6 p.m. Tuesday or anytime Wednesday in the Owen H. Yoder residence at 5012 Pearsons Corner Road, Dover.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Owen H. Yoder residence. Bishop Daniel F. Coblentz will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Amish Cemetery, Dover.

LAUREL - Ida E. Gilbert Miller of Laurel died of natural causes Thursday, Feb. 13 2003, in Genesis Elder Care, Seaford Center, Seaford. She was 90.
Services for Mrs. Miller have been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Doris Orlena Holt Moore, 81
DOVER - Doris Orlena Holt Moore of Dover died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 81.
Services for Mrs. Moore have been postponed to a later date.

CHESWOLD - Leola Beatrice "Smiles A Lot" Reed Morris of Cheswold died after a long illness Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 73.
