Theodore S. Russell, 72
DOVER - Theodore S. Russell of Dover died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in his son's home in New Castle. He was 72.
Mr. Russell had been the branch manager for Norandex, Dover, retiring in 1997 after 10 years.
He was a member and past master of Hiram Lodge 25, A.F. & A.M., and a member of Order of the Eastern Star 10, both in Newark. He was also a member of the Blue Hen Touchdown Club, Newark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June C. Russell, in 1999.
He is survived by three sons, Theodore Steven Russell of Kennett Square, Pa., Paul Scott Russell of New Castle, and Alfred Greggory Russell of Newark; a stepbrother, Robert Guy of Wilmington; a stepsister, Shirley Guy of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Katie, Shawn, and Erika Russell; and special friend, Brenda Bender of Camden.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Spicer Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Head of Christiana Cemetery, Nottingham Road, Newark.

James E. Stanton, 75
DOVER - James E. Stanton of Dover died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in his home He was 75.
Mr. Stanton retired in 1979 from Woolyhan Trucking in Wilmington.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching professional wrestling and baseball and loved to fish.
Mr. Stanton was a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge 1758 and Middletown Lodge 1295. He was also a Legionnaire.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Ruth C. Stanton; a son, Tom Stanton of Bear; a stepson, Carter Knotts and his wife, Cheryle and son, Chad, all of Dover; two step-daughters, Fay Knotts and Kay Murray; nine grandchildren, a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Cecilton, Md.
The family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
Jeannette S. Warner, 83
MILFORD - Jeannette S. Warner of Milford died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 83.
Mrs. Warner was born July 10, 1917, in Canterbury, the daughter of the late Russell J. and Laura W. Sipple.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Warner was a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church in Milford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Warner, in December 1985 and by a brother, John Sipple, in October 1998.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan W. McMullen and her husband, Earl, of Newark; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Alvin and Norma Warner of Milford and Robert and Kenda Warner of Milford; two sisters, Dorothy French of Milford and Ruth Olson and her husband, John, of Milford; seven grandchildren, Brian McMullen, Drew McMullen, Janelle Gonzalez, Stacey Todd Warner, Bradford Warner, Andrea Warner, and Lauren Kusik; and a great-grandchild, Gabriella Gonzalez.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Virginia R. White, 91
SEAFORD - Virginia R. White of Seaford died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in the Seaford Center, Seaford, where she was a resident. She was 91.
Mrs. White worked at the U.S. Post Office in Bridgeville for 24 years, retiring in 1975 as assistant postmaster.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Sussex Chapter 7, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Co., the Cannon Grange, and Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville White.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis G. Ray of Bridgeville, and Granville W. White of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Phyllis Ann Mitchell of Palm City, Fla., and Grace J. Veneables of Laurel; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Order of the Eastern Star service will be at 12:50 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Bridgeville Cemetery.
Raymond Conaway, 82
LAUREL - Raymond Conaway of Laurel died Monday, March 3, 2003, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 82.
Mr. Conaway was born in Georgetown, son of the late Olin and Olivette Moore Conaway.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Conaway retired from the DuPont Co. in Seaford in 1981 after 35 years of service as a pipefitter.
He loved working in his garden. Some of his other favorite pastimes were fishing, crabbing and boating.
Mr. Conaway was a member of the American Legion Post 24 in Laurel and the Laurel Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alva Margaret Conaway; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Fay and Reggie Layfield of Millsboro; a sister, Ruth Waller of Georgetown; three brothers, Norman Conaway of Millsboro, Preston Conaway of Laurel and Herman Conaway of Albany, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Wayne Mathis will officiate.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.
Richard L. Coverdale, 72
LINCOLN - Richard L. Coverdale of Lincoln died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Milford Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 72.
Mr. Coverdale was born in Lincoln, son of the late John and Annie (Wilson) Coverdale.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Coverdale worked as a chemical compounder for the L.D. Caulk Co. for 33 years.
He loved and enjoyed stock car racing for many years. His No. 79 stock car took him to several state championships.
Mr. Coverdale was a member of Harrington Moose Lodge 543, the Ellendale Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Co.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Derrickson) Coverdale in 2002; two sisters, Frances Wilson and Sallie Fitzgerald; and two brothers, Harvey Coverdale and Charlie Coverdale.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Steve Dayton of Lincoln; three sisters, Lottie Jones of Lincoln, Meta Donovan of Milford and Ann Watson of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Christina Marie Dayton and her fiance Adam Wall and Stefanie Lynn Dayton; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Marty and Sue Stokes and Candace Stokes.
Services will be 2 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
Rose M. Davis, 78
WILMINGTON - Rose M. Davis of Wilmington died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington. She was 78.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edith Davis Jones, in 1993.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Gilbert K. Davis Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, G. Kenneth Jr. and Gloria W. Davis and Ronald C. and Denise Davis; a brother, Thomas Hicks; a sister, Catherine Brown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Eighth Street Baptist Church, 3301 N. Market St., where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.

Anna M. Erdle, 89
DOVER - Anna M. Erdle of Dover died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89.
Mrs. Erdle was born May 22, 1913, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Charles Woerner and Elizabeth (Tinsman) Woerner-Hobbs.
She gradated from Central High School in Pennington, N.J. in 1932, and moved to Delaware shortly thereafter.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; a son, Wayne; and her stepfather, Harvey Hobbs.
She is survived by a son, Harvey R. Erdle of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and James Tomey of Dover and Linda L. and Jonathan Beaty of Williamsburg, N.M.; a grandchild, Christen Leigh Tomey of Dover; and a family friend who shared the Erdles' home on many occasions, Suzie S. Stehle-Keller of Dover.
Remembrance services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in the Barrett's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
