Lillian Siconolfi, 87
DOVER - Lillian Siconolfi of Dover died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in her home. She was 87.
Ms. Siconolfi was born March 17, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Rocco and Josephine (Lemmo) Siconolfi.
She was a lifelong resident of South Brooklyn until suffering a stroke in 1998 and moving to Dover to be closer to relatives.
Ms. Siconolfi was a salesperson in the silver department for the former Abraham & Strauss department store in downtown Brooklyn for many years, retiring in 1977.
She was a devoted, generous aunt to her many nieces and nephews, an independent person and avid traveler.
Ms. Siconolfi was an active member of her parish, Our Lady of Peace in Brooklyn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Capozzoli and Rose Fanelli; and a brother, Tom Siconolfi.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Fay Siconolfi of Tonowanda, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, Rose and Cornelius Perrone of Elkton, Md., Josephine and Eugene McDonagh of Brooklyn, Robert and Ray Hearns of Amityville, N.Y., Sean and Marian Fanelli of Garden City, N.Y., Vincent and Franchette Fanelli of McClur, Va., Frank and Nora Fanelli of Franklin, N.J., John and Janet Fanelli of Franklin, Marie and Dennis Golombek of Tonowanda, N.Y., Cathy and Tom McCargo of Amherst, N.Y., Michael and Char Siconolfi of New York and Thomas Noi of California; 19 great-nieces/nephews; and a special fiend, Agnes Taylor of Webster, Mass.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace Church in Brooklyn.
Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.
Alice Elizabeth Best Truitt
LEWES - Alice Elizabeth Best Truitt of Lewes died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes.
Mrs. Truitt was born in New York, the daughter of the late Thomas and Emily Floyd Best.
She worked in the family business, Thomas Best & Sons and Best Equipment of Nassau for several years.
She loved her family, gardening, flowers and animals. She was also an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Truitt Sr., in 1961; a sister, Ruby Beat French; and a brother, William T. Best.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Alice Elizabeth (Truitt) and Anthony I. Reynolds Sr. of Milford and Emily Celina (Truitt) and Albert C. Derickson Sr. of Lewes; a son and his wife, William Edward and Karen V. Truitt Jr. of Nassau; two grandsons, Anthony I. Reynolds Jr. of Milford and Albert C. Derickson Jr., and his wife, Virginia, of Millsboro; two granddaughters and their husbands, Glori Ann Reynolds and Andrew Davies of Milford and Emily Celina Derickson and James McHugh of Lewes; nine great-grandchildren, David Allen Derickson and Robert William Derickson, both of Millsboro, Richard Anthony Reynolds, Rebecca Elizabeth Davies and Matthew Paynter Davies all of Milford, Chelsea Marie McHugh and Michael Patrick McHugh, both of Lewes, and Kaitlin Nicole Reynolds and Chelsea Lynn Reynolds, both of Milford; a sister, Violet Best Jett of Reedville, Va.; two brothers, Thomas B. Best and Alfred G. Best Sr. of Nassau; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1919 Kings Highway in Lewes.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Henlopen Memorial Park near Milton.

Walter Richard Urban, 82
HARTLY - Walter Richard Urban of Hartly died of natural causes Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in his home. He was 82.
Mr. Urban was born Oct. 8, 1918, in New York, the son of the late Alfred and Pauline Urban.
He worked for Playtex Dover as a machine operator for 38 years, retiring Jan 9, 1981.
He is survived by a sister, Lucy Urban of Hartly.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro, Md.
The family suggests contribution may be made to the American Heart Association, 625 S. State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
Mildred A. 'Millie' Wheeler-Satterfield, 48
SMYRNA - Mildred A. "Millie" Wheeler-Satterfield of Smyrna died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 48.
Ms. Wheeler-Satterfield was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Dover, the daughter of Charles Wheeler Sr. of Middletown and Shirley Manning Deblander of Canton, Pa.
She worked as a material handler for Metal Masters in Clayton for the last five years.
Ms. Wheeler-Satterfield enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping and going to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Easley Pierson of Smyrna; four brothers, Frank Wheeler, and his wife and daughter, Dorris and Tanya, with whom she lived, Charles Wheeler of Florida and Thomas and Jeff Wheeler both of Clayton; two half-sisters, Dawn Corman of Bellefonte, Pa., and Mary Beth Wheeler of Middletown; her stepfather, Art Deblander of Canton; her stepmother, Mary Wheeler of Middletown; her special friend, Richard Willey of Wyoming; and her nieces and nephews, Steven, Thomas, Charles and Stacy.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main St. in Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Samuel Merritt Willis, 79
KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Samuel Merritt Willis of Kennedyville died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. He was 79.
Mr. Willis was born in Kent County, Md., the son of the late Samuel Merritt and Clare L. Walbert Willis.
He farmed for many years.
Mr. Willis was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Pearl Harbor.
He loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed watching plants grow and the colors of each season.
Mr. Willis was one of three founding members of VFW Post 652 in Millington. He, Sam Roland and William Payne worked diligently in forming the new post through the national headquarters. In 1993-94 Mr. Willis was appointed national aid de-camp by National Commander George R. Cramer for his continued support and work for the VFW. Locally, he served as post commander several times and held many high honors within Maryland and Delaware. He also served as the post's quartermaster for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Thelma Willis; a daughter, Willadean L. Reher at home; a son, Leo Wayne Willis, and his wife, Rose, of Pleasanton, Calif.; a sister, Grace Phillips of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Harry Willis of Bethany Beach, Del.; four grandchildren, Burton Willis, Jae J. Duffy, Wanda Lynn Clough and Jeanette Renee Ames; and five great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St. in Millington, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private.
Charles 'Herbie' Woodlin, 80
MIDDLETOWN - Charles Woodlin of Middletown died Friday, March 16, 2001, in his home after a lengthy illness. He was 80.
Mr. Woodlin was born Dec. 25, 1920, in Centerville, Md., the son of the late William and Blanche Woodlin.
He was educated in the Viola School District.
In his early years he was employed as a farm laborer. Later he became employed with Continental Block Co. in New Castle for more then 30 years until he retired. He also worked as a handyman for the Biggs family in Odessa, where he maintained employment until his death.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Woodlin; five sisters, Sarah Mosley, Roxie Minus, Mary, Virgie and Hester Woodlin; and four brothers, John, Samuel, Jester and Perry Woodlin.
He is survived by his step-mother, Beatrice Woodlin of Camden; three sons, Aubrey Stevenson of Jersey City, N.J., Gordon Woodlin of Dover and Julius Woodlin of Middletown; a daughter, Lois Beecher of Dover; two brothers, Roy Albert of Centreville, Md., and William, and his wife, Eliza Woodlin, of Marydel; two sisters, Mabel Jones and Bertha Foote, and her husband, Milton Foote, of Baltimore; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Woodlin of New Castle and Sylvia Woodlin of Harrington; two sisters-in-law, Clara Miller of Dover and Sarah Woodlin of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a very devoted friend, Patricia Inez Waters of Middletown; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Middletown, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be held in Gibbs Memorial Gardens in Woodside.

Margaret 'Peggy' H. Baker, 56
DOVER - Margaret "Peggy" H. Baker of Dover died Thursday, March 20, 2003, in her home. She was 56.
Mrs. Baker was born June 1, 1946, in Vineland, N.J., daughter of Donald G. Walker and the late Helen Thurston Walker. She had lived in Delaware since 1968.
She retired in 1998 after 30 years from The Delaware Division Health and Social Services as an office manager.
Mrs. Baker was a member of Peoples United Church of Christ in Dover.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of almost 35 years, Robert; her step mother, Josephine of Vineland, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Lynn and Jerry Del Colliano of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother and sister-in-law, John G. and Mary Walker of Flora, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Elinor Baker of Dover; a brother-in-law, Paul Baker and his wife, Jane of Reston, Va.; and three nephews and a niece.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Peoples United Church of Christ, 46 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, S. State Street, Dover.
