Robert D. Gum, 86
FRANKFORD - Robert D. Gum of Frankford died of heart failure Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, in Millsboro Nursing Home, Millsboro. He was 86.
Mr. Gum was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He was a lifetime farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis M. Gum Jr. and Carrie Gum; a brother, Francis M. Gum III; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Gum.
He is survived by a brother, Waples W. Gum of Frankford; and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Col. Armwell Long Cemetery, Frankford.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to: Frankford Presbyterian Church.

Robert Henry, 58
GEORGETOWN - Robert Henry of Georgetown died after a long illness Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Bayhealth/ Kent General Hospital. He was 58.
Mr. Henry was the son of the late Carrie E. Purneil Henry and the late Harry W. Henry Sr.
He attended school In the Worcester County, Md., school system.
Mr. Robert worked for Cooper Smith, Inc. as a former comestible, day care and family care provider.
He dedicated much of his life to helping the community at large. He was a 32nd degree Mason at the Rising Sun Lodge at Prince Hall.
Mr. Henry loved recreational fishing and hunting. One of his greatest joys was dressing and preparing foods, especially pigs, and he loved to cook.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Henry; three children, James Taylor-Henry of Millsboro, Leslie M. Taylor-Henry of Seaford and Robyn A. Henry-Pressley; two daughters-in-law, Jennifer Taylor and Patricia Taylor; a close friend to the family, Melvin Lee Jones; five sisters, Sarah L. Copes of Berlin, Md., Virginia L. Kee of Newark, N.J., Julia E. Henry of Berlin, Evenly D. Johnson of Wilmington and Linda Hobbs of Berlin; six brothers, Harry W. Henry of Berlin, Charles T. Henry of Delmar, Md., the Rev, Joseph A. Henry Sr. of Salisbury, Md., William D. Henry of Wilmington, Earl S. Henry of Berlin and Clifton L. Henry, Sr. of Berlin; father-in-law, Marion L. Taylor of Georgetown; seven sisters-in-law; eight brothers-in-law; three god-daughters; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren, very special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Terry McGee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Dickerson Chapel, U.S. 113, Millsboro, with the Rev. Hayward Henry officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to service.
Burial will be in Mt, Zion Cemetery, Georgetown.

Louise Koziski, 70
CAMDEN - Louise Koziski of Camden died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in Christiana Hospital of Christiana Care, Newark. She was 70.
Mrs. Koziski was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Elyria, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louise Doud and Frank C. Doud Sr.
She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, Camden, in the class of 1939.
Mrs. Koziski worked short periods for Henry Ridgely Law Office, Dover, and the Camden Post Office. She took her formal retirement from Playtex of Dover, with 23 years of service, in 1982.
After retirement, Mrs. Koziski enjoyed life as a homemaker, and was an avid bridge player and a member of the local bridge club.
Mrs. Koziski was a charter member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances McQuown, in 1986.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Michael D. Koziski; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Hannah Koziski; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Tom Norwood of Milford; two brothers, Frank Doud of Chicago and Jack J. Conway Jr. of Coconut, Fla.; a sister, Dorothea Gray of Wyoming; three grandchildren, Kimberly Norwood of Milford and Miles Norwood and Michelle Warren, both of Milton; three great-randchildren, Tyler Norwood of Milford and Brock Layton and Haley Norwood, both of Milton.
Service will be noon Thursday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friend may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Frank O. Sutton will officiate.
Burial be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Helen Kenon Pickett, 80
MILLSBORO - Helen Kenon Pickett of Millsboro died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 80.
Mrs. Pickett was born in Wallace, N.C., the daughter of the late Hardy and Sally Bryant Kenon.
She was a member of the Millsboro Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Millsboro.
She is survived by two sons, James D. Pickett of Philadelphia and Andrew Pickett of Bolingbrook, Ill.; two daughters, Jeanette Pickett Jack and Margaret Pickett Hall, both of Millsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cordrey Road, Millsboro.

Robert J. Ridgeway Sr., 64
GEORGETOWN - Robert J. Ridgeway of Georgetown died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in his home. He was 64.
Mr. Ridgeway retired in 1975 at the rank of master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service as a flight engineer. He also was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was the recipient of three Distinguished Flying Crosses.
Mr. Ridgeway was a member of the American Legion Fox Post Dover and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his Wife, Barbara A. Ridgeway of Georgetown; two sons, Robert J. Ridgeway Jr. of Magnolia and Ronald E. Ridgeway of Portsmouth, Va.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will 2 p.m. Thursday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium-Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford St., Georgetown, with the Rev. Richard Blades officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial wall be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

Margaret Louise Wilkinson, 73
SMYRNA - Margaret Louise Wilkinson of Smyrna died of heart failure Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 73.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born in Millington, Md., the daughter of the late Hyland and Lottie Semans.
She worked for the Delaware Home of the Chronically Ill in the laundry department for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
Mrs. Wilkinson enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Wilkinson Jr., in 1970; three sisters, Elizabeth Manning, Caddie Dixon and Mary Heverin; and a brother, Edward Semans.
She is survived by a son, James Edward Wilkinson of Leipsic; three daughters, Marlene "Renee" F. Lowman of Smyrna, Margaret "Peggy" Truitt of Felton and Connie Gearhart of Dover; two sisters, Helen Johnston of Millington and Ruth Snow of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W, Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Millington.

Ginger Kingsley, 70
BETHANY BEACH - Ginger Kingsley of Bethany Beach died of pulmonary fibrosis Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 70.
Mrs. Kingsley recently retired from the Gull House elder day-care after 12 years of service.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy, who died in 1988.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas R. Kingsley; two daughters, Mary Kay and Sandy; a son, Bill; and seven grandchildren, Ira, Brian, Lisa, Julie, Stephanie, Christina, and Jennifer.
A memorial mass will be noon Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Del. 26, in Bethany Beach.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Gull House, 23 Terrace Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

Bronwyn Hope Maddox, 5 days
GREENWOOD - Bronwyn Hope Maddox of Greenwood died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Christiana Hospital. She was 5 days old.
She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Tamera Maddox of Greenwood; her paternal grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Maddox of Greenwood; her maternal grandparents, Herbert and Thelma Lockhart of East Liverpool, Ohio; her paternal great-grandfather, Joe Dennis of Greenwood; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Todd's Chapel, Greenwood.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to a local blood bank; or to People's House, c/o Newark Church of Christ, 91 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.

Edward Schofield Jr., 58
DOVER - Edward Schofield Jr. of Dover died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in his home. He was 58.
Mr. Schofield was born Feb. 3, 1943, in Philadelphia, daughter of Maria (McGough) Schofield of Philadelphia and the late Edward Schofield Sr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1962-65.
Mr. Schofield worked as a field service technician for OPL Services until his disability in 1999.
He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Schofield was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, Harrington, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Camden/Wyoming Moose Lodge, CBGSC-Area 33 Girl Scouts, where he served on the service team and as a troop co-leader.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Mackin Schofield of Dover; three daughters, Colleen Lakatos, Megan Mackin and Elizabeth Schofield, all of Dover; a son, Steven Schofield of Wilmington; a granddaughter, Tyler Schofield of Wilmington; seven brothers, James Schofield and his wife, Maureen, and Charles Schofield and his wife, Sandy, all of Pennsylvania, William Schofield and his wife, Catherine, of New Jersey, John Schofield and his wife, Christine, and Robert Schofield, all of Washington, Andrew Schofield and Joseph Schofield, both of California; two sisters, Marge Tomaselli and her husband, Frank, and Anne Nonemaker and her husband, Richard, all of Pennsylvania; his mother and father-in-law, Dolores and William Mackin of New Jersey; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Charles Lapolla of New Jersey; several aunts; 24 nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, Harrington.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 1990; or directly to the family.

Charles Lamont Shaw, 48
NEW YORK - Charles Lamont Shaw of New York City, formerly of Dover, Del., died after a long illness Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Beth Israel Hospital, New York. He was 48.
Mr. Shaw was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Dover, son of the late Charles C. Shaw and Dorothy Shaw.
He was educated in the Capital School District, Dover.
Mr. Shaw moved to New York in his early 20s.
He was fond of the theater and dancing. He sang and danced with the Delaware group "Up with People" and performed in song and dance at Dover High. He was also known for his gourmet cooking.
Mr. Shaw was a member of the New York Dance Theatre.
He is survived by three sisters, Dianna Richardson, Maryellen Jones and Cynthia Shaw-Austin, all of Dover; a brother, Ronald Shaw of Smyrna, Del.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be noon Saturday in Lockwood Cemetery, Hartly, Del. The Rev. Raymond Fisher will officiate.

E. Brice Starkey, 79
DOVER - E. Brice Starkey of Dover, and formerly of Newark, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, in his home. He was 79.
Mr. Starkey was born Dec. 19, 1921, son of the late James Lewis and Mattie Everett Starkey. He was raised on a farm in Massey, Md.
He had farmed on his own for eight years and worked for the General Motors Boxwood Plant, Wilmington. During the war, he worked for the Chrysler tank plant, Newark. He also worked in the engineering department at Boeing Aircraft for 24 years, retiring in 1984.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Hollett Starkey; a daughter and her husband, Elaine and Charles Wallace of Townsend; two grandsons, J.B. Wallace of Townsend and Merritt Wallace of Milford; and three great-grandchildren, Brittni, Bradley and Christopher Wallace, all of Milford.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Galena (Md.) Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Millington, Md.

Calvin R. Warrington, 74
MILLSBORO - Calvin R. Warrington of Millsboro died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 74.
Mr. Warrington was born in Millsboro, son of the late John D. and Elizabeth Dorman Warrington.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Warrington retired in 1988 after 25 years with the Delaware Department of Transportation. He also owned and operated Warrington's Meat and Groceries from 1964 to 1974.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed.
His hobbies were gardening, yard sales and auctions, and he enjoyed making handmade scrapple.
Mr. Warrington attended the Community Church of Oak Orchard, was a past member of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Co., and was one of the founders and the first president of the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 28 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Millsboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harbeson and John D. Warrington.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pearl H. Warrington; a daughter, Dianna Atkins and her husband, Robert, of Millsboro; a son, Daniel Warrington and his wife, Pam, of Millsboro; four grandchildren, Holly and Lori Atkins and Luke and Ben Warrington, all of Millsboro.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Allen Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.

Juanita Frances Wilson, 64
DOVER - Juanita Frances Wilson of Dover died Saturday, April 7, 2001, in her home. She was 64.
Ms. Wilson was born May 21, 1936, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Nathanial Waters and Odessa Viola Wilson. She spent her younger life in Manokin, Md., and most of her adult life in Delmar. In 1995, she went to live with her granddaughter in Dover until her death.
She worked for the Delmar School District for 38 years, retiring in 1989.
Ms. Wilson received Christ while with her granddaughter. She loved to talk about the goodness of the Lord, and was a loving and caring woman.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Spruance; her son-in-law, Nathan Spruance; nine grandchildren, Stacey Finney and her husband, Patrick, Audrey Hanzer, Joshua Spruance, Matthew Spruance, Ishmael Spruance, Tabitha Spruance and Shawon Griffin, all of Dover, and Melvin Hanzer of Washington, D.C.; five great-grandchildren, Tynisha Finney, Patrick Finney, James Finney, Sabrina Griffin and Kierra Griffin, all of Dover; and a host of relatives and friends.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior to the ceremony.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover.

Raymond W. Riniker, 83
LEWES - Raymond W. Riniker of Lewes died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 83.
Mr. Riniker was born Jan. 8, 1920, in Lewes, son of the late Minnie Rickards Riniker and Frank P. Rini-ker.
He was a 1938 Lewes High School graduate and later worked for the DuPont Co., Seaford, and then, in the family business known as Riniker's Tavern, a local restaurant, bar and liquor store, where he handled all phases of the operation. He then went on to work as a field auditor for Selected Risk Insurance before joining the former Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware in 1959. Over the years, he worked his way through various positions within the bank until his retirement in 1976 from the loans division.
Mr. Riniker was a professional freelance photographer and cinematographer for many years, handling several events for WDEL-TV and Channel 12, and forwarding several news films to WBOC-TV and photos to The Associated Press. In his lifetime, he produced more than 4,000 feet of motion picture film for the former Smith Products Co., Lewes, and for other local events. Mr. Riniker obtained a pilot's license in 1945 and an amateur radio license with the call letters W3SWC in 1952. He also owned and operated boats. He was a musician and could sing and play the saxophone and clarinet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Lodge Riniker of Lewes; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay Riniker and Joshua Peirce of Sellersville, Pa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas R. and Cindy Riniker of Millsboro; four granddaughters, Donna Wilkins, Lisa Peirce, Kimberly Keller and Melissa Baitinger; two grandsons, Steven Riniker and Scott Riniker; a step-grandson, Thomas W. Lynch III; five great-grandchildren, Samuel Wilkins, Eva Wilkins, Eliza Wilkins, Isaac Wilkins and Chad Keller; and two neph-ews, Jimmy Riniker and Bobby Riniker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes. The Rev. David Palmer will officiate.
Burial will be in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Beebe Medical Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958; or to Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth St., Lewes, DE 19958.
