Hannah Richardson
Hannah Richardson, of Rehoboth Beach, died Tuesday, April 11, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 96.

Richardson, a retired stenographer, was born in Laurel.

She was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Rehoboth, the Rehoboth Art League, the Village Improvement Association and the Over 80 Club of Delaware.

She is survived by her cousin, Louise Boyce Parks of Millsboro; a host of other cousins; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be sent in her memory to All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth.

Roberta Hartman Slover
Roberta “Bobbie” Hartman Slover, of Rehoboth Beach, died Saturday, April 8, in Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va. She was 57.

She is survived by her mother, Margaret Lowell Hartman; a daughter, Kathleen Slover; two sons, Daniel Slover and Harold Slover, all of Fairfax.

Services will be held in Oakton, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Women’s Home Inc., P.O. Box 7412, Arlington, VA 22207.

Frank J. Vicari
Frank J. Vicari, of Long Neck and formerly of New York, died Monday, April 10, of heart failure at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was 73.

He was retired from the automobile business.

He was a member of the Lewes R.C. Club.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Anita Vicari; a daughter, Patricia Werner of Cherry Hill, N.J.; three sons, Frank J. Vicari Jr. of Setauket, N.Y.; David Vicari of Binghamton, N.Y.; and Andrew Vicari of Holbrook, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck.
Burial was private.

Mary T. Chapman
LAUREL, Del. - Mary T. Chapman, 70, of Laurel died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.

She was born in New York City of the late Edward J. and Bridgett Barker. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, George T. Chapman; one son, Timothy T. Chapman; two daughters, Leah Spicer and Rachel McGlaughlin, all of Laurel; and by six grandchildren. A sister, Eileen Barker, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Laurel, where friends may call one hour before the service. The Rev. Wayne Musgrove will officiate. Interment will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Laurel.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of Delaware, 600 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, Del. 19947.

Frank H. Godesky
BRIDGEVILLE - Frank H. Godesky, 77, of Bridgeville died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in Milford Hospital.

Mr. Godesky retired in 1981 from Cannon Goods in Bridgeville, where he was a supervisor for 21 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an avid gardener, but he was probably best known for the produce stand he operated on Route 18 in Cannon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Crowley Godesky; three sons, Norman Trader of Willards, Larry Trader of Horntown and Bruce Trader of Bridgeville; three daughters, Elaine Massey of Pittsville and Susan and Amy Godesky of Bridgeville; one brother, John Godesky of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Elise Williams of Naples, Fla., and Irene Newell of Marlboro, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon at the Cranston Funeral Home at 300 Shipley St. in Seaford, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, Del. 19720 or the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, Del. 19801.

W. Graham Dill III
W. Graham Dill III of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Chincoteague, Va., and Dagsboro, died April 29, 2000 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. He was 64.

Dill was a well-loved football coach, teacher and school administrator for the former John M. Clayton High School, Indian River High School, Indian River School District and Chincoteague High School. He coached many championship football teams and had the honor of coaching two Gold Teams in the annual Blue-Gold Football Game.

Dill was a lay reader for many years for the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware. He was also very active in the United Methodist Church, both in Virginia and Florida, as well as the Emmaus Movement.

He was a Master Mason in Lodge No. 243 of Chincoteague and a former member of the Chincoteague Town Council. Dill was also a past president of the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Graham and Thelma V. Dill of Milton; and a grandson, Matthew Steven Rust of Georgetown.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kay M. Dill; two daughters, Tamara D. Rust of Georgetown and Suzanne Dill of Millsboro; a sister, Sara D. Wilkinson of Milton; and a grandson, Robert C. Rust of Georgetown.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 at Christ United Methodist Church, Chincoteague.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund in Chincoteague or to your favorite charity.

Florence R. Hudson
Florence R. Hudson of Dagsboro died April 30, 2000 at her home. She was 63.
Hudson, who was born in Frankford, was the daughter of the Jeanette Figgs and the late Ananias Rogers.

She worked for Vlasic Foods in Millsboro until her illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy J. Hudson in 1974; her brother, Merrill A. Rogers in 1983; and her father, Ananias in 1951.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, James Hollingsworth of Millsboro; two sons, Allen A. Hudson of Frankford and Leroy J. Hudson Jr. of Dagsboro; a daughter, Brenda K. Hickman of Georgetown; a sister, Yvonne Timmons of New Castle; and four grandsons, Eric, D.J., Jason and Dylan.

Services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 3 from the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be in the Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Nellie R. Twilley
Nellie R. Twilley of Lewes died April 21, 2000 at her daughter’s residence in Dagsboro. She was 75.

Twilley had been a bookkeeper for many years, retiring in 1983 from Dureen’s Apparel, Ocean City, Md. She was a volunteer for many years at the Huling Cove CHEER Center, Lewes, where she donated many handmade crafts and countless hours of her time.

She was a dear friend of Alice Flemming.

She was the mother of four children: William B. Twilley, formerly of Wilmington, now deceased; N. Rebecca Jackson of Glen Rock, Pa.; Gregory C. Twilley of New Castle; and Patricia L. Flood of Dagsboro. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Travis, Erin, Alyse and David.

Services were private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Herbert J. Tingle
Herbert J. Tingle, a resident of the Millsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Bishopville, Md., died April 25, 2000 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 94.

Tingle, who was born in Berlin, Md., was the son the of late Charlie and Hattie Taylor Tingle.

He was employed by Showell Farms in Showell, Md., for 25 years, retiring in 1972.

Tingle was a member of the Zoar United Methodist Church in Selbyville and the church’s Methodist Men’s Group.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lulu Rayne Tingle, in 1982.
He is survived by a daughter, Gladys Rayne of Frankford; two god-daughters, Wanda P. Tucker of Salisbury, Md., and Linda Cooke of Seaford; a brother, Harold Tingle of Bishopville, Md.; and 22 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held April 29 at the Zoar United Methodist Church, Selbyville. Burial was in Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery, Selbyville.

Marion Tunnell Guy, 89
DOVER - Marion Tunnell Guy of Dover died of an aneurysm Thursday, April 26, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 89.
Mrs. Guy was born in 1911, in Sandtown, daughter of the late Gustave and Martha Tunnell.
She was a homemaker, and had made her home with her niece, Marlynn Hedgecock, since the death of her husband, Fred Guy, in 1982.
In addition to her niece, she is survived by a brother, Armour G. Tunnell of Dover; and several other nieces and nephews, including C. Donald and Charlotte Hodge of Dover.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice.

Elwood Horsey Sr., 66
LAUREL - Elwood Horsey Sr. of Laurel died of natural causes Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in his home. He was 66.
Mr. Horsey was born May 5, 1934, in Eden, Md., the son of Lucinda Bivens Horsey of Delmar and the late William Horsey.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955-1957.
He worked for Shoreland Freezer Co. in Salisbury, Md., for more than 22 years.
Mr. Horsey was a minister and member at Mount Zion Holiness Church in Delmar, where he also served as Sunday-school teacher, ground-maintenance worker for many years and deacon.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Horsey; 10 children, Elwood Horsey Jr. of Roanoke, Va., Joyce Ann Stratton of Magnolia, Lillie Frazier of Milford, Jacqueline Chase of Laurel, Sharron Roach of Middletown, Leroy Horsey of Cambridge, Md., Veronica Webb of Seaford and Richard Horsey, Jason Horsey and Jordan Horsey, all of Laurel; 32 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight brothers, George Bivens of Salisbury, Roy Horsey of Laurel, William Horsey of Lincoln, Donald Horsey of Concord, Milton Horsey of Bridgeville, Samuel Horsey of Delmar, Nathaniel Horsey of Harbeson and James Horsey of Salisbury; five sisters, Delores Horsey, Catherine Horsey and Elaine Parker, all of Laurel, Marion Smith of Newark and Patricia Siaz of Milton; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Holiness Church, Delmar.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Clifford Horsey and Elder Ethel Oney officiating.
Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Stockley.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mount Zion Holiness Church, 209 N. Memorial Drive, Delmar, DE 19940.

Frances Passwaters Mears, 90
SEAFORD - Frances Passwaters Mears of near Seaford died of heart failure Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 90.
Mrs. Mears was born in Bridgeville, daughter of the late William Harry and Golden Williamson Passwaters.
She was a graduate of Bridgeville High School and the University of Delaware, where she excelled in sports and was captain of the softball, basketball and hockey teams.
She was a homemaker, a schoolteacher for several years and an active participant in the family farming business of Ray S. Mears & Sons Inc.
Mrs. Mears was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Seaford, and attended Christ Evangelistic Church, Laurel. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 7.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray S. Mears, in 1994; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Rex L. and Sharon Mears and William R. and Robin Mears, all of Seaford; five grandchildren and the spouses of two, Rex L. Mears Jr. and Nancy Mears, Kimberly M. Lank and Karen M. and Jon Hearn, all of Seaford, William R. Mears Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Susan L. Mears of Rehoboth Beach; a step-granddaughter, Kimberly Willey of Laurel; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Lank, Sara Adams, Cooper Hearn, Aaron Willey and Michaela Brodie; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and other family and friends.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford, with the Rev. Roland E. Tice and the Rev. David B. Humphrey officiating.
Burial in the cemetery will follow the service.
Arrangements by Watson-Yates Funeral Home Inc., Seaford.
