Carol L. Hill Bader of Lewes died April 24, 2000. She was 59.
Bader was the daughter of Henry and Marian Hill of Lewes.
After graduating from the Goldey-Beacom School of Business, she worked as a secretary for the Dupont Company in Wilmington for several years.
She also worked as a court stenographer for the Sussex County Family Court.
Bader was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Sharon H. Melson of Frankford; a brother, William Theodore Hill of Long Island, N.Y.; and a niece and three nephews.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Mulberry St., Lewes, DE 19958.

Carol L. Hill Bader (2 of 2)
Carol L. Hill Bader, of Lewes, died Monday, April 24. She was 59.

She worked as a secretary for the DuPont Co. and was a court stenographer for Sussex County Family Court.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.

She is survived by her parents, Henry and Marian Hill of Lewes; a sister, Sharon H. Melson of Frankford; a brother, William Theodore Hill of Long Island, N.Y.; a niece; and three nephews.

Services were private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.

Brice Sidney Harris
BRIDGEVILLE - Brice Sidney Harris, 44, of Big Pine Road in Bridgeville died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore from complications of an infection.

Mr. Harris was a farm equipment operator for Steve Yenling Farms in Bridgeville.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy V. Harris; a daughter, Angel Lee Harris of Delmar; a stepson, Michael Truitt of Hebron; his father, William N. Harris Sr. of Bridgeville; five brothers, William N. Harris Jr. of Pocomoke City; Michael C. Harris of Salisbury; Keith A. Harris of Seaford; Mark W. Harris of Dover and Charles Horner of Felton; two sisters, Linda R. Zollars of Felton, Del., and Gloria J. Maynard of Albemarle, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at Hardesty Funeral Home at 202 Laws St. in Bridgeville at 1 p.m. on Thursday where friends may call one hour before the service. Burial will be in Blades Cemetery in Blades.

Ann Bupp Elliott
Ann Bupp Elliott, of Pike Creek and formerly of Rehoboth Beach, died Sunday, April 30. She was 83.

She lived in Rehoboth for 20 years and was a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center. She moved to ManorCare in Pike Creek in January 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Elliott, in 1996.

She is survived by two brothers, Curtis Bupp of Wilmington; and Robert Bupp of New Castle; a sister, Henrietta Connell of West Rotunda, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Our Lady of Fatima School Fund, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, De 19720.

Caleb Paynter
Caleb Paynter, of Lewes, died Tuesday, April 25. He was 90.

Services were held at Christ’s Church in Harbeson.

Arrangements were made by Miller Funeral Home, Milford.

Patricia Phillips Hayden
Patricia Phillips Hayden, of Milford, died Monday, April 24. She was 74.

She was a harness horse trainer.

She is survived by two sons, Robert D. Hayden Jr. of Milford, with whom she lived; John P. Hayden, and his wife, Judy, of Harrington; three daughters, Patricia Campbell-White, and her husband, Donald White, of Rehoboth Beach; Margaret Beth Tice, and her husband, William P. Tice, of Harrington, and Lisa Vaughn Hayden of Lewes; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and former husband, Robert D. Hayden Sr. of Greenwood.

Services were held at Epworth Methodist Cemetery in Rehoboth.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE19901.

Irene M. McGettigan
Irene M. McGettigan, of Rehoboth Beach, and formerly of Philadelphia, died Friday, April 28, at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes. She was 90.

She was a member of St. Edmond’s Catholic Church of Rehoboth.
She enjoyed shopping and casino’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1970; two sisters, Mae Toole; and Cynthia Toole; a brother, John Toole; and a grandson, Donald Lee Klotz.

She is survived by two sons, Joe McGettigan of Rehoboth, and Daniel McGettigan of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; three daughters, Dorothy Klotz of Gonzales, La.; Patricia Holmes of Warminster, Pa.; and Irene Schnell, Collegeville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 9, at 10 a.m., at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church in Rehoboth.

Burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cheltenham, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian St., Rehoboth Beach.

Nellie R. Twilley
Nellie R. Twilley, of Lewes, died Friday, April 21, of cancer at her daughter’s residence in Dagsboro. She was 75.

She was a bookkeeper and a volunteer at Huling Cove Cheer Center.

She was preceded in death by a son, William B. Twilley of Wilmington.

She is survived by her son, Gregory C. Twilley of New Castle; two daughters, N. Rebecca Jackson of Glen Rock; and Patricia L. Flood of Dagsboro; four grandchildren; and a dear friend, Alice Flemming.

Services were private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Delaware Hospice, Southern Division, N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown.

Raymond G. Walter
Raymond G. Walter, of Lewes and formerly of Pasadena, Md., died Saturday, April 22, of pneumonia at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was 71.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was an inspector for the public works department in Anne Arundel County, Md.

He enjoyed bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; five sons, Gerald C. Walter of Seaford; Raymond F. Walter of Linthicum, Md.; Ben J. Walter of Annapolis, Md.; Kim D. Walter of Pasadena, Md.; and Nicholas Todd Walter of Cumberland, Md.; a brother, Norman Glover Walter of Florida; a sister, Mary Lash of Florida; and 14 grandchildren.

Services were held at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.

Henry I. Beers Wilson
Henry I. Beers Wilson, of Henlopen Acres, died Saturday, April 29, at home after a long illness. He was 83.

He was manager of the Pennsylvania Rubber and Supply Co. in Mansfield, Ohio for 25 years.

He was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Rehoboth Beach.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Ross Wilson; a daughter, Katherine Wilson McNeilly of Newburgh, N.Y.; a sister, Edith McMichael of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; a niece and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 5, at 11 a.m., at All Saints’ Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Tunnel Cancer Center at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes or Delaware Hospice, 600 DuPont Hwy., Georgetown.

Norman Wayne Mowbray Sr., 52
FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Norman Wayne Mowbray Sr. of Federalsburg died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was 52.
Mr. Mowbray was born Aug. 29, 1950, in Easton, son of the late Norman Lee Mowbray and Florence Virginia Frampton Mowbray.
He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.
He had worked as a mechanic for over 20 years at Solo Cup in Federalsburg, also working at E.I. DuPont in Seaford and most recently at Northern Chesapeake.
Mr. Mowbray was a member and past post commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5246 in Federalsburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Kennedy.
He is survived by his girlfriend of 11 years, Teresa A. Brown of Federalsburg; four grandchildren, Samantha, Dylan, Caelan and Brennan; a brother, Jackie Mowbray of Frankford, Del.; and a sister, Marsha Foskey of Seaford.
Services will follow immediately upon the conclusion of memorial services conducted by VFW Post 5246 at 2 p.m. Thursday in Framptom-Hawkin-Eskow Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.

Otis Nelson 'The Big O' Sharp, 79
PRESTON, Md. - Otis Nelson "The Big O" Sharp of Preston died Friday, May 2, 2003, in his home. He was 79.
Mr. Sharp was born June 11, 1923, in Preston, youngest of six children of the late William Vance and Lula Hubbard Sharp.
He was educated at the Marsh Creek School.
Mr. Sharp entered the U.S. Army in 1943, serving in World War II, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. While in the Army, he served as a truck driver and also qualified as a sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1946.
His main occupation was with The Preston Trucking Co. as a truck driver, from which he retired with 30 years of service (1951-1980). His hard work was recognized with several commendations for safe driving and dedicated service.
Mr. Sharp married Virginia Lee Murray Feb. 11, 1944; six children were born to this union. However, many children shared the couple's home through foster parenting and mentoring, which made it easy to call him "Dad." He and his wife were recognized by receipt of the governor's award, and they also received numerous citations for providing a safe haven for children needing a family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Alvolia Frazier and Maurice Cephus; and five siblings, Maynard Murray, Leslie Sharp Jr., Elwood Sharp, Frances Sharp Bunch and Melinda Sharp.
In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by 16 children and the respective spouses of six, Larry and Rosie Sharp, Elwood Sharp Sr. and Brenda Sharp, Barbara Holmes and Paul Holmes Jr. and Verna Sharp, all of Preston, William Jones of Delaware, Mary E. and Hilton Jones of Seaford, Del., Sherman Sharpe of Dover, Del., Sherwood and Roberta Sharp of Sharptown, Frances Coulbourn of Salisbury, Carol Dotson-Lee and Charles Cephus, both of Cambridge, Loretta and Ron Martin of St. Thomas, V.I., Stanley Cephus of Baltimore, Percy Cephus of North Carolina, Anthony Cephus of Denton and Wendell Cephus of Washington, D.C.; numerous foster-care children; 36 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Mary Sharp of Preston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Mount Calvary Church, Preston.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the church, where friends also may call one hour earlier.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Caroline County Hospice Founda-tion, PO Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.

Marguerite P. 'Maggie' Smith, 66
CAMDEN - Marguerite P. "Maggie" Smith of Camden died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was 66.
Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 7, 1936 in Dover, daughter of the late John W. and Elizabeth Davis Pratt.
She was a public information clerk for the Legislative Council of the state of Delaware for 30 years before retirement and was an active participant in the local Democratic Party.
She is survived by two sons, Bradford L. Smith of Magnolia and Brook W. Smith of San Diego, Calif.; and two grandsons, Bradford L. Smith II and Brent M. Smith.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna.
