Taylor, Ralph Lee Jr. – Painter, Va. Died at age 74, Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in his home. Locally survived by a daughter, Katherine Taylor of Dover.

Todd, Helen Blanche – Greenwood. Died at age 87, Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in Marydel. Locally survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Morton and Clara Todd of Dover. Interment was in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Wise, William A. – Harrington. Died at age 68, Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. Interment was in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Anderson, Walter Edward –– Harrington. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 83, in the Milford Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a fireman for Bethlehem Steel for 29 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Parker Anderson. Burial was private.

Banning, Harry C. –– Milford, formerly of Bridgeville. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 87, at Heritage at Milford. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe from March 1942 until November 1945. He owned and operated the Banning Esso station, Bridgeville, for many years, retiring in 1984. Survived by his wife of 17 years, Dorothy Rust Banning. Burial was in Bridgeville Cemetery.

Blann, Anthony Leo ‘Andy’ Sr. –– Seaford. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 56, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1971, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. He worked at Tidewater Building and Supply, Easton Shell for 15 years and Gede Supply. Survived by his wife, Deborah Marie Masten Blann. Locally survived by a child, Dale Ostermann of Felton. Burial was in Oxford Cemetery, Md.

Calvert, Anna Mae –– Harrington. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 75, in her home. She was a homemaker, and worked for a short time making dresses at the Harrington Dress Factory. Burial was in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.

Davidson, Esta –– Frankford. Died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at age 74, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. Locally survived by a daughter, Martha Dinch of Frederica. Burial was in the Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville.

Freer, Harriet P. –– Milford, formerly of Philadelphia. Died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at age 83, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was a property manager for Campus Associates. Burial was in Carey Cemetery, Frankford.

Freiman, Emanuel ‘Manny’ –– Formerly of Dover. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, in Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, and retired as a master sergeant at Dover Air Force Base in 1967 after 27 years of service. Survived by his wife, Marie “Dolly”. Burial was in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Hitchens, Bradford Burdette –– Milford. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 77, in his brother’s home in Elkton, Md. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a florist, greenhouse operator and driver for Scott Nurseries and Blue Hen Florists for 45 years, retiring in 1991. Locally survived by a nephew, Ronald Blessing of Felton. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Jarman, Marie Elizabeth –– Milford. Died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at age 87, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She and her husband owned and operated a milling and broiler business in the Smyrna area for many years. She lived recently at Westminster Village in Dover. Locally survived by a son, Donald Jarman Sr. and a daughter, Mary Ann Larrimore, both of Felton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Wesleyan Methodist Church, West Commerce Street, Smyrna. Burial will be in the Whaleysville Cemetery, Whaleysville, Md.

LeFurgey, Russell Cameron –– Houston. Died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at age 68, at his home. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant, after serving 30 years. He worked with the Elizabeth W. Murphey School in Dover as a food provider. Survived by his wife of 26 years, Brenda J. LeFurgey. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.

Mood, Donald F. Jr. –– Smyrna. Died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at age 50, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was a driver for David C. Harrison Post 14 American Legion ambulance service. Locally survived by a daughter, Christy Mood of Dover. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in St. Polycarp Roman Catholic Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, Community Service Building, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Moser, Anne Elizabeth Elliott –– Salisbury, Md. Died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at age 73, in Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury. She retired from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Education after 30 years of service. She also was a Mary Kay beauty consultant for 20 years. Survived by her husband, LaMar R. Moser, and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and C. Edward Palmer of Dover.

Noble, Harriet M. –– Milford. Died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at age 65, in her daughter’s home. She was a dedicated employee at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital for 17 years. Locally survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe Malago Jr., of Dover. Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary, Carlisle Fire Co., P.O. Box 131, Milford, DE 19963.

Phillips, Margaret D. –– Georgetown. Died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at age 64, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She worked at Perdue Inc. in Georgetown, retiring in the early 1990s. Survived by her husband of 38 years, Bishop Jerry Phillips. Locally survived by a son, Jeron Phillips of Dover; a brother, Douglas Foreman of Dover; and a sister, June Foreman of Dover. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, Georgetown.

Russell, Joseph ‘Doc’ Jr. –– Clayton. Died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at age 89, in Westminster Village Health Center in Dover. He was a truck driver for 40 years. Survived by his wife, Mary Belle Russell. Locally survived by a son, James Russell of Dover. Burial was in Lockwood Cemetery, Hartly.

Schaefer, Clara B. –– Lincoln. Died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at age 91, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederica. Locally survived by a son, Charles Dennis of Dover.
