Wojton, Ellen Joan – Harrington. Died Thursday, July 19, 2001 at age 68. She worked as a school teacher for the New Jersey State School System for 40 years. Services were Tuesday, July 24 at Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington. Burial was in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, Pa.
Bright, Charles Marshall Sr. – Harrington. Died at age 74, Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. Locally survived by three sons, Charles Bright Jr. of Camden-Wyoming, William Bright of Magnolia and Pastor Brian Bright of Felton. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md., where friends may call from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. Interment will be in the Greensboro Cemetery.
Buckhannon, Vivian J. Summers – Salem, W.Va. Died at age 77, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008. Locally survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diedra J. and Richard Pieshala of Camden. Arrangements were by Greathouse Funeral Home, Salem.
Buffalo, Delores R. – Seaford. Died at age 69, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Locally survived by a sister, Deborah Hicks Raymond of Dover. Interment was in Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg. Arrangements were by Framptom Funeral Home.
Cohee, William Harrington ‘Cricket’ IV – Ocean City, Md. Died at age 52, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, in his home. Locally survived by his mother, Hannah Marvel Walters and her husband Sam of Felton; and his father, William Harrington Cohee III and his wife Margaret of Cheswold. Interment was in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. Arrangements were by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton.
Cox, George Lonnie – Ellendale, formerly of New Castle. Died at age 62, Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at home. Locally survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Howard W. and Laura Cox of Dover. Arrangements were by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
Englehart, Elta M. – Harrington. Died at age 59, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. Interment was in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements were by Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
Hill, Charles R. ‘Bud’ – Smyrna. Died at age 97, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, in Broadmeadow Nursing Home, Middletown. Locally survived by a son, William C. Hill of Magnolia. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, N.J.
Hill, Donna V. – Smyrna. Died at age 67, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Manor Care of Wilmington. Locally survived by a daughter, Connie Pickens of Felton. Interment was in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
Nichols, Bertha Ray – Greensboro, Md. Died at age 96, Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Felton. Locally survived by a daughter, Bette Shulties of Felton. Interment was in the Greensboro Cemetery.
Watson, Jay ‘Sonny’ Jr. – Milford. Died at age 64, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22. Interment will be in the Milford Community Cemetery.
Collins, Garland C. — Smyrna. Died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001 at age 75. He worked as a spray painter for Tyler Refrigeration, formerly of Smyrna, and later, as a security guard for Pittsburgh Paint and Glass near Cheswold before retiring due to disability. Survived locally by two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Wilson of Kenton and William R. Wilson IV of Hartly. Services were Monday, Dec. 3, at Faries Funeral Chapel, Smyrna.
Ferguson, Darryl C. — Auburn, Wash. Died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001 at age 45. He was an accountant. Survived locally by his father and stepmother, Donald and Ruth Ferguson of Felton. Services were Sunday, Nov. 25, at Auburn City Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Auburn, Wash. Burial was Monday, Nov. 26, in Tahoma National Veterans Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
Hunter, Don Thomas — Died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 at age 64. He was the owner and operator of Hunter Insurance Company. Survived locally by a brother Melvil Hunter of Dover. Services were held Monday, Nov. 26, at Will Young Cemetery in Newdale, N.C.
Hart, Mary Juanita Allen — Smyrna. Died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001 at age 77. She worked as a private duty nurse at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna for 11 years and later became a foster care provider for 21 years. Survived locally by a son, Gene Hart of Dover; and a daughter, Margaret “Margie” Hufford of Dover. Services were Sunday, Dec. 2, at Faries Funeral Chapel, Smyrna. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.
Hicks, The Rev. Richard Ross — Milford. Died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at age 70. He was a teacher and served in many different appointments as a pastor. He served for 3 1/2 years part time as a United Methodist Campus Minister and Coordinator of Religious Affairs at Delaware State University. Services were Monday, Dec. 3 at the Education & Humanities Building at Delaware State University, Dover. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milford.
Hutchins, Harry Nelson — Milford. Died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 at age 88. He was a supervisory inspector for U.S. Customs Services in Baltimore for 30 years, retiring in 1973. Services were Friday, Nov. 30, at Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Jester, Charles E. — Harrington. Died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001. He worked for the Simpler Lumber Co. for many years. Survived locally by a son, Charles R. Jester of Camden; two daughters, Alice Sylvester of Felton, and Sharon Caldwell of Woodside; and a sister, Ruth Biddle of Felton. Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
Mitchell, Ethelyn Ann — Millville. Died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 at age 53. She was a licensed practical nurse at Millsboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Green Valley Terrace, Millsboro, for 14 years, retiring in July 2000 due to illness. Survived locally by a son, Jack Kenneth Mitchell of Felton. Services were Saturday, Dec. 1, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. Burial was in Carey’s Cemetery, near Millsboro.
Reynolds, E. Louise — Pot-Nets. Died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001 at age 67. Homemaker. Survived locally by a brother, Andrew Gray of Dover. Services were Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Blessed Catherine Drexel Church, Chester, Pa. Burial was in the Chester Rural Cemetery.
Robinson, Robert W. ‘Pick’ — Quaker Neck, near Chestertown, Md. Died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001 at age 82. He worked for the Campbell Soup Company in Chestertown, Md. He also worked for General Foods in Dover, retiring in 1985. Survived locally by a daughter, Denise Collingwood of Dover. Services were Saturday, Dec. 1, at Janes United Methodist Church, Chestertown, Md. Burial was in the Janes United Methodist Cemetery, near Chestertown, Md.
Wiest, Ralph R. — Springfield, Va. Died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 at age 64. He was a Vietnam War veteran and worked for 21 years for the U.S. government civil service as a budget analyst in Alexander, Va., retiring in July 2001. Survived locally by two brothers, David S. Wiest Sr. of Wyoming and Ivan Q. Wiest of Dover; and a sister, Rose Marie Wolf of Dover. Services were held at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Va. Burial with full military honors will be Friday, Dec. 14, in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Bovis, Marrilyn Jamison – Milford. Died at age 79, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. Interment was in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements were by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
