A remembrance service for Rachel J. Fisher, 71, of Magnolia, will be held Thursday, July 26 at noon at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Fisher died on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at her home with family.
Mrs. Fisher was born in 1930 in Waltham, Mass., the daughter of the late Yvonne Guilbert. She lived in the New England area for many years. She has lived in her current residence since 1978.
She was a homemaker and loving mother to her children and grandchildren.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was also a life
member of VFW Post 3238 and held position of post chaplain; a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Auxiliary.
Mrs. Fisher loved bingo, the Washington Redskins, and the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ernest R. Fisher of Magnolia; two sons, Ron Fisher of Camden-Wyoming, and Michael Nolette of Massachusetts; two daughters, Nancy Garmache of Cumberland, R.I., and Judy Nolette of
Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two sisters, Anita Santoio of California, and Ann Guilbert of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Ronald Guilbert of California; three grandchildren, Lucas Fisher of Camden-Wyoming, and Melanie and Tracy Cluart of Cumberland,
R.I.; and three great-grandchildren, Amber, Haley, and Mandy Cluart, all of Cumberland, R.I.
Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 30 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Alexander W. Cullen
A remembrance service for Alexander W. Cullen, 82, of Marydel, will be held at noon on Friday, July 27 at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Mr. Cullen died on Sunday, July 22, 2001 in Silverlake Nursing Center, Dover.
Mr. Cullen was born in 1918 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late James and Jean Gardner Cullen.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 1930s, then served in the Merchant Marines In WW II.
Mr. Cullen worked for Exxon as a pump man, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel. He was also a member of the aMarydel Lions Club.
Mr. Cullen is survived by his cousin, Barbara Spero of Paramus, N.J.; and his extended family of special friends, The Noletts, The Monacos, The Kents, The DaFontes, The Berrys and The Beyers.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Charles H. Yencer
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles H. Yencer, 88, of Hartly, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel, Md. Mr. Yencer died on Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Yencer was born in Hunts, N.Y., the son of the late Stephen and Sarah Ayers Yencer.
He moved to the Dover area in 1964 from Pavilion, N.Y., and was employed with General Foods Corp. He retired in 1973 after 26 years with General Foods, where he served as a supervisor in packaging and processing.
Mr. Yencer enjoyed woodworking and often could be found maintaining the birdhouses on the grounds at Immaculate Conception Church of Marydel, Md. He was a gentleman farmer and took great pride in caring for his barnyard pets.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Julia Yencer; two sons, Richard Yencer of Buffalo, N.Y., and David Yencer of Felton; four daughters, Patricia Hall of Pick, N.Y., Rebecca Finsted of Melbourne, Fla., Melanie Hagen of Hartly, and Connie Yencer of Harrington; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Thomas A. Simonsen
A funeral service for Thomas A. Simonsen, 85, of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour before the service.
Mr. Simonsen was born in 1915 in West Orange, N.J., the son of the late Ole Martin and Thora Simonsen.
He was employed as an accountant in New York and retired to Port Richey, Fla., in 1978. He moved to Delaware in 1999 to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Lynne and Tom Simonsen Jr.
Mr. Simonsen was a member of the Sons of Norway, Garborg Lodge #265 in Long Island, N.Y.; a 53-year member of Norsemen Masonic Lodge #878 in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the oldest living Past Master; the Scottish Rite of Florida in Tampa, Fla.; the Egypt Shrine Temple in Tampa, Fla.; and the West Pasco Shrine Club in Port Richey, Fla. He was also a Past Patron of Jeptha Chapter #134, Order of the Eastern Star in New Jersey.
Mr. Simonsen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Simonsen of Dover; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas A. and Lynne Simonsen of Dover, and Dale and Charlotte Simonsen of Clinton, Mo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home, where Masonic and Eastern Star services will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Burial will be private.

Emily E. Riley George Morris
A memorial service for Emily E. Riley George Morris, 66, of Dover, will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Morris died on Sunday, July 22, 2001 in Christiana Hospital, Newark.
Mrs. Morris was born in 1934 in Lewes, the daughter of the late Louis E. Riley and Rosa M. Holland Riley Thomas.
She was a graduate of William C. Jason High School in Georgetown, and held a master's degree in regional planning from the University of Massachusetts.
Among her many accolades and accomplishments, her greatest asset was her love for people and helping others. She was a lover of God's creation and marveled over its wonders.
Mrs. Morris was director of Dover Educational and Community Center. In the spring of 2000, she was inducted into the Delaware Women's Hall of Fame.
She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Dover, where she was a member of the trustee board and president of the senior choir.
Mrs. Morris was Kent County prothonotary from 1980 to 1992; a member of the Kent County Republican Party; a member of the National Urban/Rural Fellows Board of Directors; board member of the House of Pride; a member of the NAACP; and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Morris.
Mrs. Morris is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin A. and Linda George of Harrington; a brother and sister-in-law, Louis E. and Lonnie Riley of Dagsboro; two nephews, Paul W. Williams and his wife, Andrea of Yeadon, Pa., and Louis E. Riley III of Harrisburg, Pa.; five nieces, Judith B. Tankard and her husband, Albert of Milton, Jane A. Showell of Milton, Delema M. Lott of Lewes, Makeda R. Riley of Philadelphia and Kathryn R. Riley of Dagsboro; seven step-sons; a step-granddaughter, Jean Faison; six great-nephews; six great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; three great-great-nieces; her special extended family, three "sisters," Marian Harris, Lillie Cooper and Barbara Hill; three godchildren, Deesha M. Hill, Jatia Paige and Myland Brown; and Harry, Jay and Kana Panchmatia.

Edward V. `Snipe' Edge
A funeral service for Edward V. "Snipe" Edge, 85, of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26 at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Millington, Md., where friends may call one hour before the service. Mr. Edge died of cancer on Monday, July 23, 2001 in his home.
Mr. Edge was born in 1915 in Middletown, the son of the late Zedric and Amanda Edge.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He worked for several years at Rebourne Farms near Centreville, Md. He then worked for the town of Centreville in the maintenance department and took care of the power plant, retiring after 18 years.
Mr. Edge enjoyed playing music in his bands The Country Stardusters and Home Sweet Home Boys. He also enjoyed gardening and working on small engines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Emma Edge, in 1979; a daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Walls, in March 2001; and a grandson, Joey Walls, in 1994.
Mr. Edge is survived by his second wife of 13 years, Margaret C. Edge; four daughters, Mary Lee Boyles of Chestertown, Md., Barbara Jonczak of Centreville, Frances Osborne of Chesapeake City, Md., and Darlene Alton of Henderson, Md.; a son, Thomas E. Edge of Worton, Md.; a grandson he raised, Ronnie Edge of Millington, Md.; a stepson, Bruce Graham of Kenton; a sister, Viola Hollingsworth of Stevensville, Md.; a brother, Paul Edge of Salisbury, Md.; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, Md.
