Immacula Isidor

A funeral service for Immacula Isidor, 51, of Dover, was held Saturday, June 8, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. Ms. Isidor died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in her home.

She was born June 28, 1950 in Haiti, daughter of Atalente Isidor and the late Dumarsais C. Barthelemy.

Ms. Isidor was employed at Sunroc Corporation and had many friends in the community. She was friendly and hardworking and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by five children, Hermot Isidor, Herso Isidor and Sophonie Isidor, of Haiti; and Paulin Isidor and Angela Petits-Frere of Florida; a boyfriend of 14 years, Polius Petits-Frere of Dover, who is the father of two of her children; and other family members from Haiti and New York.

Burial was in Whatcoat Cemetery, Dover.

Arrangements were by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.

Stanley Howard Jones

A private service will be held for Stanley Howard Jones, 47, of Felton. Mr. Jones died Friday, June 7, 2002 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Mr. Jones was born in Maryland, son of Harry Clyde Jones of Federalsburg, Md., and the late Mary Louise Rodgers Jones.

He was employed as a nursing assistant.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Harrington.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mary Elva Thomas Jones; two daughters, Shannon Marie and Victoria Nichole Jones, both of Felton; two brothers, Larry Jones of Baltimore and Phil Jones of St. Mary’s County, Md.; his father and mother-in-law, Warren and Sharon Thomas of Hillsboro, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Moose Lodge 2332, PO Box 23, Hillsboro, MD 21641.

Arrangements are by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton.

Nina K. Kozerski

A memorial service for Nina K. Kozerski, 69, of Felton, will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 13 at Torbert Funeral Home, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover. Mrs. Kozerski died Friday, June 7, 2002 at Christiana Hospital.

She was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Curwensville, Pa., daughter of the late Samuel and Ethyl Lampec Catino.

Mrs. Kozerski retired from the Federal Civil Service in 1989 after 35 years of service. She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Frank Kozerski; a daughter, Elaine Minear of Dover; a stepdaughter, Patricia Kozerski of Dover; a stepson, Russell Kozerski and his wife Darlynn of Wake Forest, N.C.; a grandson, Andrew Minear and two step-grandchildren Holt Broadhurst and Frances Broadhurst; two sisters, Shirley Mantine of Frederick, Md., and Janice McCartney and her husband Richard of Clearfield, Pa; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Goldie Catino of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Eugene and Hazel Catino of Philadelphia, Pa., and Carmen and Ruth Catino of Clearfield, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 95 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720, or the American Heart Association, Kent County Division, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19904.

Frances P. Heinold Newell

A memorial service for Frances P. Heinold Newell, 73, of Dover, formerly of Smyrna, was held Monday, June 10 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Smyrna. Mrs. Newell died Tuesday, June 4, 2002.

Mrs. Newell was born in Jersey City, N.J., daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Riggs Pierce. She moved to Delaware as a child.

In 1946, she was crowned Miss Smyrna, and graduated from the John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna in 1947.

Mrs. Newell worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years and had formerly been postmaster in Clayton, Middletown and Lincoln, where she served until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS), and of the NAPUS Retired Postmasters.

Mrs. Newell was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Smyrna and sang in the choirs of St. Peter’s, Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna, and the Modern Maturity Center, Dover.

She enjoyed music, needlework, and baking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, C. Fred Heinold Jr., in 1968 and her second husband, David I. Newell, in 1991.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry P. and Allyson Heinold of Newark; two daughters and sons-in-law Beth and Bob Wessell of Clayton, and Linda and Brian Mueleanaer of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Eleanor Justice of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, Rick Wessell, Kimberly and Kevin Heinold, and Morgan and Evan Mueleanaer; and a close friend, Bertha Cubbage of Anamosa, Iowa.

A private burial service was held by the family.

Arrangements were by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna.

Gwendolyn Smith Simmons

A memorial service for Gwendolyn Smith Simmons, 56, of Dover was held Saturday, June 8 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Dover. Mrs. Simmons died of heart failure Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Christiana Hospital, Newark.

Mrs. Simmons was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Gary, Ind., the sixth of 14 children born to the late Jordan and Lillie Mae Larry Smith.

She completed high school in Biloxi, Miss., and was a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Delaware.

Mrs. Simmons dedicated her life to Jehovah on Oct. 4, 1973, and was a faithful servant to him for the past 29 years. She volunteered at least 50 hours a month as a minister for Jehovah. She was deeply loved by all of those whose life she touched.

Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry and Donald Smith; and two sisters, Barbara Weakley and Linda Jo Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Andrew; two sons, Anthony and Shawn; and a daughter Crystal Okonkwo; a step-daughter, Dora Douglas of Sacramento, Calif.; her beloved friend of 27 years, Maria Plummer; her special friend Carol Crampton, four sisters, Margaret Hall, Shirley Smith, Edith Priest and Debra Redd; five brothers, Eugene, Robert, Larry, Gregory and John Smith; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many cherished spiritual friends.

Henry M. ‘Chick’ White

Services for Henry M. “Chick” White, 76, of Hartly, were held in Monongahela, Pa. Mr. White died Friday, May 24, 2002, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Fransko White of Hartly; three daughters, Debra Myers-Hutchins of Felton, Bonnie Austin of Wilmington and Pamela Buker-White of Hartly; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Frye Funeral Home.

Patricia ‘Patty Duke’ Wiens

A service for Patricia “Patty Duke” Wiens, 69, of Camden, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13 at Faries Funeral Home, 1250 S. Governors Ave., Dover. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Mrs. Wiens died Friday, June 7, 2002, in her home.

Mrs. Wiens was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland.

She was a loving and sentimental mother. She was an admirer of John F. Kennedy and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 2, Dover.

Mrs. Wiens was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wiens.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Chuck Lewis of Lincoln, Neb.; two sons, Keith Friudenberg of Borrego Springs, Calif., and Jerry Friudenberg and his fiancée Linda Thompson of Dover; two brothers, Alan English and his wife Monica, and Leo English, all of Newfoundland; two sisters, Kathryn English of Florida and Mary English of St. Johns, Newfoundland; six grandchildren and one great-grandson, Anthony Wooleyhand, of Dover.

Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Virginia W. Childers

A remembrance service for Virginia W. Childers, 81, of Dover, was held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Trader Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Wuest officiated.

Mrs. Childers died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 in Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Mrs. Childers was born Oct. 2, 1920 in Madison Heights, Va., the daughter of Elijah and Sallie Day Wilmer. She was from Lynchburg, Va., and moved to Delaware in 1999.

She was a homemaker and loved her children, family and friends.

Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll C. Childers, in August 2001.

She is survived by two sons, Ken Childers of Dover and Barry Childers of Orlando, Fla.; two granddaughters and their husbands, Gayle and Mark Mabrey and Kenda and Mark Galipo, all of Felton; and two great-grandchildren, Amber Mabrey and Brook Mabrey, both of Felton; and a special friend, Peach Farrow of Felton.

Burial was in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.

Danielle Renee Emory

A funeral service for Danielle Renee Emory, 17, of Centreville, Md., and Dover, was held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Centreville United Methodist Church. Danielle died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Danielle was born in 1983 in Easton, Md., the daughter of Charles Emory of Centreville, Md., and Brenda Emory of Dover.

She attended schools in Queen Anne’s County and graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville in June.

Danielle was an honor-roll student and received several awards for basketball and volleyball.

At the time of her death, she was attending Delaware State University in Dover, majoring in accounting.

Danielle was employed as a cashier at Corning-Revere Factory Outlet in Queenstown.

She enjoyed life and was a loving daughter and sister, and a special friend to many. She had the perfect smile and will always be missed and loved by everyone.

Danielle was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Daniel Pierce, who had lived in Centreville, Md.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Shantel Emory of Centreville, Md., and Breanna Ennals of Dover; her paternal grandmother, Hattie Emory of Centreville, Md.; her maternal grandmother, Doris Brown of Dover; her maternal grandfather, Charles Thomas of Easton, Md.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Arrangements were by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Easton, Md.

Burial was in the Chesterfield Cemetery in Centreville, Md.

Rodney Lyndon Caulk Sr.

A funeral service for Rodney Lyndon Caulk Sr., 62, of Wyoming, was held Saturday, Dec. 1, at the People’s United Church of Christ, Dover. Mr. Caulk died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 in Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Mr. Caulk was born in 1939 in Dover, the son of the late Lyndon and Marguerite Pitman Caulk and Beulah Virdin, who helped raise him after the death of his mother.

He was a 1957 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School.

After high school, Mr. Caulk worked on the family farm in Wyoming and later took a position with the Delaware Department of Corrections, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement.

He enjoyed his retirement as an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He was a member and past master of Union Lodge 7 AF&AM; Delaware Consistory; First State Shrine Club; Nur Temple AAON MS; and the Delaware Square and Shield Club.

He was also a member and past patron of Victory Chapter O.E.S.; Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge 203; Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. 41; past president of the Ambulance Squad; and a member and past president of the Kent County Fireman’s Association.

Mr. Caulk is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joan Lee Caulk; four children, Theresa Lloyd, Lynda Caulk and Rodney L. Caulk Jr., all of Wyoming, and Lance Caulk of Dover; a brother, G. Wallace Caulk of Woodside; five grandchildren, Chad Lee Caulk, Ryan Lloyd, Cody Lloyd and Rodney L. Caulk III, all of Wyoming, and Lauren Caulk of Dover; and a great-grandson, Dylan Spence of Camden; and many nieces and nephews.

Masonic services were also held Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.

Arrangements were by the Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
