A funeral service for Tessa Brooke Delaney Slover-Niblett, 1 month old, of Camden, was held on Tuesday, June 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Camden.
Tessa died Wednesday, June 17, 1998 in A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington.
Tessa was born on May 17, 1998 in Bayhealth Medical Center-Kent General Hospital, Dover, the daughter of Claudia A. Slover-Niblett of Camden and Douglas S. Niblett of Dover.
Her mother was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Camden.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Maxwell A. Slover of Camden; three sisters, Lindsey M. Slover of Camden, and Amanda R. and Kristina A. Niblett, both of Dover; her maternal grandmother, Nancy L. Rollings of Kenton; a special great-aunt, Pat A. Pearson of Joliet, Ill.; and numerous aunts and cousins.
Arrangements were by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
A funeral service for Harry George "Sarge" Greenly, 82, of Milford, was held on Monday, June 22 at Rogers Funeral Home, Milford. Mr. Greenly died Thursday, June 18, 1998 in Bayhealth Medical Center/Milford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Greenly retired as a chief master sergeant in 1967 from Dover Air Force Base after more than 30 years of service.
Following retirement, he worked for I.G. Burton Inc. for 10 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church and several military organizations in Delaware.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janis C. Greenly, in 1987.
Mr. Greenly is survived by his son, Harry G. Greenly Jr. of Milford; a daughter, Jan Sentman of Lewes; a sister, Esther Rothermel of Canton, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Burial with full military honors was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
E. Dale Lynch
A funeral service for E. Dale Lynch, 74, of Milford, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Loftland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Lynch died of congestive heart failure on Saturday, June 20, l998 in the Milford Memorial Division of Bayhealth Medical Center.
Mr. Lynch was a truck driver for many years before retiring in 1988.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Lynch was a member of the Milford Elks Lodge 6483.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Lankford Lynch, in 1983.
Mr. Lynch is survived by two daughters, Linda Budd of Frisco, Texas, and Barbara Morgan of Lincoln; a sister, Helen Bunting of Lewes; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-granddaughter.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, U.S. 113, Milford.
George E. Price
A funeral service for George E. Price, 68, of Milford, was held on Monday, June 22 at the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford. Mr. Price died Thursday, June 18, 1998 in Milford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Price was a chef for Mitchell's Market from 1976 to 1981. He was a chef at the Milford Diner and owned and operated Miss Elly's Restaurant in Milford from 1991 until retiring in 1997.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 28 years, Eleanor Price; a daughter, Lynne Scotto of Bohemia, N.Y.; two sons, Stephen P. Price of Milford and Kevin McNamee of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; two sisters, Emily Kolb of San Antonio and Marianne Towers of Whitestone, N.Y.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Gilbert S. McDonald Sr., 83, of Smyrna, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25 in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, Pa.
Mr. McDonald died of pneumonia Saturday, June 13, 1998 in Kent General Hospital.
Mr. McDonald was born in 1915 in Chester, Pa., the son of the late Elmer and Mary Kline McDonald.
He worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Lester, Pa., for over 30 years as a welder and team leader.
Mr. McDonald was a lifelong Mason at the Prospect Park Masonic Lodge.
He loved to play checkers, watch "Seinfeld," and talk politics. All who knew him, loved him.
He was preceded in death by beloved wife, E. Elizabeth Bamberger McDonald, in 1990.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Jean McDonald Jr. of Smyrna, with whom he lived for the past three years; a daughter, Linda Burke of Ridley Park, Pa.; and two great-grandsons.

Paul Scotton
A funeral service for Paul Scotton, 92, of Dover, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden.
Mr. Scotton died Saturday, June 20, 1998 at Integrated Health Services of Smyrna.
He was a retired professional engineer from the Delaware State Highway Department, where he worked for 34 years. He was active when the late Mr. W.W. Mack was the chief engineer.
Mr. Scotton was a charter member of the Dover Lions Club and a Melvin Jones Fellow, which is the highest honor of the foundation.
He was also a member of the Capitol Grange of Dover; the Camden Whatcoat Methodist Church and a charter member of the Whatcoat Methodist Men's Organization. He had been a member of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows since 1934. He had been active in the Kent-Sussex Chapter of the Professional Engineers and served as their president. He also served on the board of the YMCA for seven years.
Mr. Scotton was a member of the Delaware Nature Society and was also an active member of the Republican Party. He served on the Dover School Board for four years.
He was one of the founders of the Dover Little League and assisted in the building of the first Little League Park in 1955. He was one of the organizers of the St. Jones River Watershed Association where he served as President in 1979 and was on the board for many years. "Scotton Landing," a crabbing and fishing pier on the St. Jones River, was named for him.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Elwood, Spencer and John; and three sisters, Sarah, Evelyn and Ruth.
Mr. Scotton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva Nailor Scotton; two sons, William Paul Scotton of Dover, and Lewis Nailor Scotton of Hingham, Mass; three granddaughters, Stephanie Anne and Alison Leslie Scotton, both of Dover, and Tara Ann Scotton Davis of Portland, Maine; one grandson, William Paul Scotton II of Dover; three sisters, Mary Scotton, Hazel Scotton Chapin and Emma Scotton Roe, all of Seaford.
Arrangements are by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
Burial will be private.

Gary L. ‘Yogi’ Baughman
Graveside services for Gary L. “Yogi” Baughman, 63, of Dover, were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Mr. Baughman died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in the Silverlake Nursing Home, Dover.
Mr. Baughman was born Oct. 2, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Harry Baughman and Virginia Hutchinson Baughman.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from the Delaware Department of Transportation after a 20-year career.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Harrington and REACT.
Mr. Baughman enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terrence Baughman, on April 21, 2005.
Mr. Baughman is survived by three sons, Brian Baughman and his wife Tanya, Shawn Baughman and Brian Legates, all of Harrington; a brother, Harry Baughman Jr. of Desplains, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

Lucy Meadows Blair
Funeral services for Lucy Meadows Blair, 79, of Hartly, were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, Dover. Mrs. Blair died peacefully in her sleep, Friday, Feb. 9, 2007.
Mrs. Blair was born May 3, 1927, in Bluefield, W.Va., daughter of the late Mason and Elizabeth Quesenberry Meadows.
She moved to Wilmington in 1957, where she met her husband, Paul G. Blair.
Mrs. Blair enjoyed bowling, fishing and her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Perdue; a grandson, Johnny Roberts; and a great-grandson, Johnny Ray Isom Jr.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, Mrs. Blair is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy and James Roberts of Newark, Sandra and James Stroup of New Castle and Beverly Perdue of Wilmington; and a son, Kenny Perdue of West Virginia.
She also is survived by a granddaughter whom she raised, Laura Swiney of Magnolia; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Nancy Meadows of Hartly, and Clarence Meadows of West Virginia; and two sisters, Shelby Bogle of West Virginia and Shirley Griffit of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for George Ray “Bo” Bolinger, 83, of Dover, were held Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover. Mr. Bolinger died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in Silver Lake Center, Dover.
Mr. Bolinger was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Cumberland, Md., son of the late Harry G. and Maude Eyler Bolinger.
He retired as a staff sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in December 1965 after 21 years of service. During his military career, he served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Mr. Bolinger moved to Dover from Cumberland in 1969. He worked in the civil service at Dover Air Force Base for 15 years and as a crossing guard at South Dover Elementary School for 14 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Gretel Menzel Bolinger.
Mr. Bolinger is survived by a daughter-in-law, Lois Marken of Flintstone, Md.; a granddaughter, Malena Martin of Flintstone; three nieces, Barbara McGaughey of Frederick, Md., and Ellen Clark and Barbara Moyer, both of Cumberland; two sons, Frank G. Bolinger of Idaho and Roy Bolinger of England; a grandson, George C. Bolinger of Idaho; a sister-in-law, Margaret Bolinger of Cumberland; and several great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Bolinger’s name may be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
Deirdre D. ‘Dee Dee’ Brown
Funeral services for Deirdre D. “Dee Dee” Brown, 47, of Dover, were held Saturday, Feb. 10, in Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Dover. Ms. Brown died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, from complications following a stroke and diagnosis of cancer.
Ms. Brown was born Nov. 23, 1959, in Bangor, Maine, daughter of Mattie P. Brown and the late Allen McCoy Brown.
She had worked 25 years full-time at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service on Dover Air Force Base and part-time in Bath and Body Works in the Dover Mall.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted friend to many.
Ms. Brown was a member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post No. 2. She was also a member of the Cavalier’s extended family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Derek Allen Brown.
In addition to her mother, Ms. Brown is survived by her only daughter and her son-in-law, Amber L. Brown and Matthew D. Dexheimer of Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Greg Walker of Roswell, Ga., and Allena E. Brown of Camden; two grandchildren, Owen B. Dexheimer and Kailey A. Dexheimer; and two nieces, Gaelyn B. and Erryn A. Walker, both of Roswell.

Deacon Isaac Carter Sr.
Funeral services for Deacon Isaac Carter Sr., 71, of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, in Calvary Baptist Church, at Route 8 and Victory Chapel Road, west of Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. Deacon Carter died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, in his home.
Deacon Carter was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Fairfield, N.C., son of the late Roosevelt Carter and Cora Lee Carter.
He attended O. A. Peay High School, Scranton, N.C.
Deacon Carter was a member of Morning Star Institutional Church of God in Christ, where he was a senior deacon under the leadership of Elder Thomas Holsey.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Deacon Carter was a hard worker and loved working with people. He worked for Playtex as a chef for canteen services until his retirement. He continued working, including being a salesman at Sears and an insurance salesman with Washington National Inc. Co.
One of his greatest achievements was when, along with his wife, he opened Carter’s restaurant in 1970. The restaurant still is in existence today at the intersection of S. Governors Ave. and Division St., Dover.
Deacon Carter was a member of Prudence Lodge 6, Prince Hall Affiliation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roosevelt Carter Jr.; a sister, Janie Bee Harris; a niece, Shirley Redden; and a granddaughter, Danielle Lewis.
Deacon Carter is survived by his loving wife, Mary Neta Harris, whom he married April 3, 1953; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Isaac Carter Jr. of New Castle, Gary and Suzette Carter of Smyrna and Michael Carter of Dover; and five daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Horton of Berlin, Md., Diane and Walter Wilson of Dover, Jackie Watkins of Dover, Debora Wilson of Felton and Belinda Faye Lewis of Felton.
He also is survived by a great-grandson whom he and his wife raised, Dontray Hendricks; a special niece, Minnie Gray of Fairfield, N.C.; a brother-in-law, John Harris of Newport News, Va.; a sister-in-law, Beulah Harris of Millville, N.J.; a special cousin who was considered a sister, Mellie Burris of Fairfield, N.C.; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends; and five devoted friends, Virgil Blocker of Detroit, Mich., Bob Daisy of Dover, Jonathon Jeffcoat of Dover, Melvin Waters of Snowhill, Md., and Tyrone Scott of Dover.
Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, west of Dover.
