Carol Anne McCullough, 45, of Felton, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. McCullough was born May 29, 1959, in Camden County, N.J., daughter of the late Robert James and Edna Mae McCullough.
Mrs. McCullough had worked in housekeeping for the Sheraton Dover Inn.
She enjoyed crafts, sewing, collecting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. McCullough is survived by a son, Christian L. McCullough and his companion Donna Desiderio of Felton; four grandchildren, Moriah Amerman, Cyndi Amerman, Siobhan Amerman and Dennis Amerman, all of Felton; and a great granddaughter, Alyssa Amerman of Felton.
Arrangements were by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
Services and burial will be private.
Ronald Medlin
Funeral services for Ronald Medlin, 55, of Dover, were held Tuesday, Oct. 5, in Capitol Baptist Church, Dover. Mr. Medlin died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in his home.
Mr. Medlin was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Hackensack, N.J., son of the late Huey and Doris Medlin.
He graduated from Bergen Technical High School in 1966 and later completed his Bachelor of Science degree in sociology at Delaware State University.
He worked for the state of Delaware for 30 years, beginning his career at the Department of Corrections and retiring as an administrator for the Department of Social Services. Upon retirement, he became a real estate agent for Harrington ERA and was a member of the Delaware Association of Realtors.
Mr. Medlin had been a member of Capitol Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed singing in the church choir every Sunday.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terry Medlin of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tawana Medlin, and Tasha and Jeffrey Olfus, all of Dover; three grandchildren, Jordan, Jonah, and Jada; a sister and brother-in-law, Hope and Rueben Wilson of Englewood, N.J.; a brother, Huey “Butch” Medlin Jr. of Englewood; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Instead of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Delaware Cancer Society or the Capitol Baptist Church.
Arrangements were by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hackensack.
T. Francis Meluney
Funeral services for T. Francis Meluney, 84, of Dover were held Saturday, Oct. 2, in Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Mr. Meluney died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Meluney was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Hickman, Md., son of the late William E. and Effie J. Meluney.
He attended school in Seaford.
During World War II, he was wounded in action during the invasion of Iwo Jima while a member of the 4th Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps. He was medically discharged in 1945 after months of recuperation.
Mr. Meluney worked for the Gulf Oil Co. in Dover until 1958. He then worked as a civil service employee at Dover Air Force Base. He medically retired from the civil service after being injured on the job.
Mr. Meluney was a faithful member of the Capitol Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Meluney, and a sister, Grace Trivits, both of whom had lived in Seaford.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth “Lib” Meluney, whom he married April 28, 1938; a daughter, Patricia Meluney of Dover; two sons and their wives, William F. and Eydie Meluney of Camden and A. Wayne and Daralyn Meluney of Lewes; three sisters, Hester White of Seaford, Helen Russell of Federalsburg, Md., and Mary Swetland of Camden; three grandchildren, Curtis Meluney of Rehoboth Beach and Rachel Meluney and Sean Meluney, both of Lewes; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles Hamilton “Charlie” Pauley, 61, of Marydel, formerly of Dover, died of cancer Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, in his home, in care of Hospice.
Mr. Pauley was born April 21, 1943, in Pocahontas, Va., son of the late Scott and Ellen Pauley.
Mr. Pauley was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and had worked for Kraft General Foods of Dover until his retirement.
Mr. Pauley was a member of the Moose organization, where he served as governor, and the American Legion, where he served as commander. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and an avid supporter of the Maryland Little League Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Pauley; and two sisters, Ina Ray McCormick and Clara Smith.
He is survived by 11 brothers and sisters: Madeline Ivins and her husband, Charles, of Harrington, James Pauley of Orlando, Fla., Donna Sarver and her husband, Robert, of Denton, Md., Scott Pauley and his wife, Zenath, of Lynchburg, Va., Ann Jones and her husband, Larry, of Marydel, the Rev. Larry Pauley and his wife, Nita, of Lynchburg, Md., Doug Pauley of Tampa, Fla., Patsy Pauley of Williston, Md., Mike Pauley of Atlanta, Greg Pauley and his wife, JoAnn, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Deniece Dameron and her husband, James, of Bluefield, Va.; his second wife, Barbara Pauley of Crumpton; and many nephews and nieces.
Services were private at the request of the family.
Myrtle Kemp Pippin
Funeral services for Myrtle Kemp Pippin, 84, of Felton will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, Md., where friends may call one hour earlier. Mrs. Pippin died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Westminster Retirement Village, Dover.
Mrs. Pippin was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Goldsboro, Md.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Owen Pippin, Sept. 23, 1970; a daughter, Joan Marie Allaband; three brothers, Harvey Kemp, George Kemp and Johnny Kemp; and four sisters, Helen Young, Mary Propper, Nellie Melvin and Lillie Young.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Covington of Denton, Md.; and five grandsons, Jay, Josh, Jerry, Wayne and Jeff.
Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.
Melvin Earl ‘Bud’ Richards
Graveside services for Melvin Earl “Bud” Richards, 82, of Wyoming, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Mr. Richards died after a courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in his home with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Richards was born March 28, 1922, in Wyoming, son of the late Clarence and Mildred Burdick Richards.
He was a farmer and had worked at the Caesar Rodney School District. He also retired from Kmart 20 years ago.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, his beagle dogs and helping his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clarice Bennett, in 2001.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Daisy Pearce Richards; a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta G. and Bobby Grimmett of Wyoming; and two sons, Kenneth E. Richards of Wyoming and Roger A. Richards of Dover.
He also is survived by four sisters, Marie Green and Doris Donovan, both of Milford, Eileen Jones of Frederica and Joyce Whaley of Greensboro, Md.; two grandchildren, Jeremy Grimmett of Wyoming and Spring Grimmett-Farrow of Jacksonville, N.C.; and his faithful little shadow, Buckwheat.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Mary Ida Roe
Funeral services for Mary Ida Roe, 80, of Magnolia were held Monday, Oct. 5, in the Pippin funeral Home, Wyoming. Mrs. Roe died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. Roe was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Denton, Md., daughter of the late James and Ida Phillips Sapp.
She worked for Playtex in Dover for 15 years, and later enjoyed life as a homemaker.
She will be remembered as a gentle soul who helped all those she could. She enjoyed nature and was an avid birdwatcher.
Mrs. Roe was an active, faithful member of Faith Community Church, Camden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Roe Sr., in October 1972; two brothers, Armand E. Sapp, and Dawson Sapp; and a grandson, Harry N. Roe.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, John W. Jr. and Elida Roe of Dover and Laurence J. and Kim Roe of Frederica, two sisters, Mildred Sipple of Leipsic and Edna Sharp of Milford; and a granddaughter, Erika M. Roe of Dover.
Burial was in Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, near Frederica.
Loretta ‘Lorrie’ Siegel
A Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta “Lorrie” Siegel, 70, of Dover was celebrated Friday, Oct. 1, in Holy Cross Church, Dover. Mrs. Siegel died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. Siegel was born in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Michael C. and Loretta Ritchie Heron.
She had been an active member of Holy Cross parish since moving to Dover in 1958 and worked in the parish office for more than 20 years. She also served as a lector and Eucharistic minister at Masses and to the homebound. A member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, she served as prefect in 1966 and 1967, co-chaired the Holy Cross annual Christmas bazaar for many years and co-chaired the altar guild as long as her health permitted. She was an active volunteer for the Bayhealth Junior Board, which she joined in 1964. When her cancer was discovered in 1996, she participated in the Annual Relay to Life with other caregivers.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Alexander Siegel of Dover; two sons and their wives, Michael and Barbara Siegel of Santa Fe, N.M., and Andrew and Velvet Siegel of Dover; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Helen and Michael McCusker of Smyrna, Sr. Marie Alexander, CSSF of Newark, Annemarie Siegel of Silver Spring, Md., and Cathy and Curtis Huber of Marydel; six grandchildren; her step-grand family, Greg and Kris McCusker and their daughter Kylie of Smyrna; and her faithful Australian Shepherd, Tara.
