Lloyd W. Metz, 81, of Dover, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Metz was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Fairplay, Md., son of the late Ralph W. Metz and Anna Lee Jones Metz.
He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, followed by 16 and one-half years in the U.S. Air Force. He was then employed in the civil service at Dover Air Force Base in shipping and receiving.
Mr. Metz belonged to the U.S. Air Force Sergeants Association.
He loved all sports. Some of his favorites teams were the Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants and the Baltimore Orioles.
Mr. Metz is survived by his wife of 46 years, Fumiko Metz of Dover; two brothers, Wilber Metz of Hagerstown, Md., and Eugene Metz of Smithburg, Md.; and two sisters, Thelma Mills of Hagerstown and Dorothy Peterson of Williamsport, Md.
Services will be private.
Donald E. Peterson
Funeral services for Donald E. Peterson, 63, of Felton, were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton. Mr. Peterson died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at home.
Mr. Peterson was born July 10, 1944, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Rita Cameran.
He was a truck driver for Chesapeake Supply & Equipment before becoming disabled 15 years ago. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Peterson was a member of the American Legion Post No. 7 and the AARP.
He cut timber, and enjoyed camping, automobiles, the outdoors and attending his son’s sporting events.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Irene Harvey Peterson; six children, John Martin and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania, Bryan, Elisha Armstrong and her husband Pete of Marydel, Jason Peterson of Felton, Pete Peterson of Memphis, Tenn., and Eric Peterson of Georgetown; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Peterson also is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Brenda and Sonny Hawkins of Laurel and Betty and Mickey Revel of Laurel; and his brothers-in-law, Herbie Harvey of Camden, Bobbie Harvey and his wife Joyce Ann of Little Creek, Jake Harvey and his wife Joyce of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mark Harvey and Sherry Hollinger of Woodside and Charlie Harvey and Dana Roubidox of North Bowers;
He also is survived by his sisters-in-law, Alice Goulet and her husband Dave of Felton, and Darlene Harvey of Milford; a brother-in-law, Pat Ankerman of North Bowers Beach; his friends, Wade and Penny Kimball; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Peterson’s name may be made to help assist the family with medical expenses that have been incurred and plane tickets for his sons to come to the services.
Sandra Petrucci
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sandra Petrucci, 89, formerly of Luther Towers, Dover, was celebrated Friday, Feb. 15, in the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover. Mrs. Petrucci died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Silver Lake Center, Dover.
Born in Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Dimino Maniscalco.
Mrs. Petrucci lived in New York and had worked for the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene before moving to the Milford area in 1973.
She and her husband, the late Joseph Petrucci, later moved to Dover and lived at Luther Towers for several years.
Mrs. Petrucci was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who enjoyed being with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Vucic, in 2006.
Mrs. Petrucci is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Susan Petrucci of Aubrey, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Raymond Preston Snow, 22 of Felton, were held Monday, Feb. 18, in the Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Mr. Snow died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008.
He was a member of the Marydel Fire Co. and enjoyed fire trucks, video games and being with his dog, Bo.
Mr. Snow is survived by his mother, Connie Snow and her companion Richard Breitenbach of Felton; two brothers, Mitchell Mujica and Nicholas Mujica, both of Smyrna; and two sisters, Felicia Snow of Marydel, Md., and Angel Snow of Felton.
He also is survived by his grandparents, Howard Snow of Camden and Patsy McGinnis of Golts, Md., and Doris Unruh of Clayton; an uncle, Brian Snow of Northeast, Md.; an aunt, Dottie Simmons of Smyrna; his cousins, Kameron Simmons, Lee Simmons, Kristina Gibbs and Heather Snow; and his close friends, Brian Nichols, Matt Daniels, Brad Kranz and Robbie Sparks.

Dolores Sosnicki
Dolores Sosnicki, 81, of Hartly, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna.
Mrs. Sosnicki was born March 3, 1926, in Lindenhurst, N.Y., daughter of the late John and Bertha Burke
She was educated in the Lindenhurst schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Sosnicki is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mitchell Myron Sosnicki of Hartly; her sons, Mitchell Sosnicki of New York, Ronald Sosnicki of West Virginia and Bowen Sosnicki of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Franklin A. Victory
Franklin A. Victory, 74, of Dover, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at home.
Mr. Victory was born in Crisfield, Md., and lived in Virginia, where he married his school sweetheart.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Occidental Chemical Co. after 17 years of service.
Mr. Victory is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deloris E. Victory of Dover; two daughters, Deloris Victory-Maxwell and her husband Henry, and Phyllis F. Victory, all of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Barbara Victory, of Dover; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of family, friends and neighbors.

Louise A. Alexander
Funeral services for Louise A. Alexander, 79, of Dover, were held Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, Dover. Mrs. Alexander died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Blaney, S.C., daughter of the late Chester and Nellie Motley Addison.
She graduated from the Brewster School of Nursing in Jacksonville, Fla., and earned a master’s degree from Queens College, New York.
She lived in St. Albans, Queens and worked for the Kings Highway Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., retiring in 1997 from Beth Israel Hospital, Brooklyn, as an OR manager after 35 years.
In 2004, Mrs. Alexander and her husband moved to Wild Meadows in Dover.
She is survived by her husband, Linwood L. Alexander of Dover; a son, Marc Alexander of Los Angeles; two grandchildren, Daniel and Gabrielle Alexander, both of Los Angeles; a brother, Henry Addison of Germany; and three sisters, Lucy Reese of Brooklyn, Ola Bailey of Queens and Theresa Hanton of Charleston, S.C.
