GEORGETOWN - Ronald E. "Ronnie" Calhoun of Georgetown died of cardiac arrest Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 44.
Mr. Calhoun was born in Milton, son of Betty Kenton Lewis of Georgetown and the late James P. Calhoun Sr., who died in 1997.
He was employed with C&J Paving Co., Milton.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR races.
Mr. Calhoun was a member of Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge 203.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, James P. Calhoun and George "Eddie" Calhoun, both of Milton; four sisters, Laura Ann Brown and Sherry Reed, both of Milton, Brenda Bowden of Georgetown and Dawn Keedy of Millsboro; five stepbrothers and stepsisters, Martha Heck of Milton, Linda Reibsome of Milford, Jerry Owens of Florida, Terry Owens of Lewes and Ray Owens of Millsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Short Funeral Services, Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

Rosey L. Collins, 61
SELBYVILLE - Rosey L. Collins of Selbyville died, after a brief illness, Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, Md., She was 61.
Mrs. Collins was born in Millsboro, daughter of the late Solomon and Ollie Jones Bradford.
She was assistant manager at Rite Aid Pharmacy, Selbyville.
She is survived by her husband, Ward "Junior" Collins of Selbyville; three sons, David Pusey of Georgetown, Craig Pusey of Millsboro and Scott Collins of Selbyville; two brothers, Virgil "Sonny" Bradford of Frankford and Bill Bradford of Gumboro; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main St., Selbyville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where friends also may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Roxana Cemetery.

Margaret Lawson Doughten, 92
MILLSBORO - Margaret Lawson Doughten of Millsboro, and formerly of Georgetown, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in the Seaford Center. She was 92.
Mrs. Doughten was born in Millsboro, daughter of the late Frank W. and Lillie E. Godfrey Lawson.
She had been a deputy clerk of the peace in Sussex County, and also had been a legislative assistant for William Wilgus, a former state senator who lived in Ocean View.
Mrs. Doughten was a national committeewoman for the Republican 8th Senatorial District in Sussex County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Doughten, in 1984.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.

Elizabeth V. MacDonald, 87
DENTON, Md. - Elizabeth V. MacDonald of Denton died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, in the Caroline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Denton. She was 87.
Mrs. MacDonald was born in Caroline County, daughter of the late John Masten and Mary Emily Breeding Masten.
A lifelong resident of Caroline County, she worked at the Denton and Federalsburg garment factories as a floor supervisor.
Mrs. MacDonald attended Wayside Church of Christ in Christian Union, near Denton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald MacDonald, Nov. 9, 1946.
She is survived by two sons, Marvin MacDonald of Federalsburg and Donald MacDonald Jr. of Greenwood, Del.; a daughter, Elva VanSchaik of Denton; a sister, Louise Sapp of Dover, Del.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wayside Church of Christ in Christian Union, Md. 404 and Greenwood Road, east of Denton, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Denton Cemetery.

Bertha May Moore, 90
FREDERICA - Bertha May Moore of Frederica died, after a long illness, Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in her daughter's home. She was 90.
Mrs. Moore was born Dec. 30, 1912, in Newburg, Pa., daughter of the late William and Mary (Franklin) Miller.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Moore was a member of Magnolia Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Moore, on Nov. 17, 1974; and two brothers, Alfred Miller and Henry Miller.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Roberts and Louis Roberts Sr. of Frederica; two grandsons and their wives, Louis Roberts Jr. and Sharon Roberts and Russell and Sharon Roberts, all of Frederica; two great-grandsons, Louis "Buster" Roberts III of Harrington and Gary Boyle of Frederica; a great-granddaughter, Megan Miller, and Mrs. Miller's husband, Michael, of Greenwood; three great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Miller, Jeremy Miller and Nathan Miller; three nephews and their wives, Donald and Sandy Miller and Norman and Joan Miller, all of Newville, Pa., and Gary and Betty Miller of Oakville, Pa.; a niece, Annamary Dunlap, and Mrs. Dunlap's husband, Donald, of Newville; a very devoted cousin, Violet Cassner of Newburg; and a godchild, Debra Cole of Felton.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. The Rev. Ron Wuest will officiate.

Charles Leroy 'Luke' Bradley
DOVER - Charles Leroy "Luke" Bradley of Dover died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Capitol Nursing Home, Dover.
Mr. Bradley was born in Dover, son of the late James H. Bradley and Mary (Clark) Berry.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a private first class of the 17th Infantry Regiment during World War II. He received the following awards: the Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was a general contractor of custom-built homes in the Dover area, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Bradley was a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, who raised him, Luther and Lydia Bradley; his father-in-law, Louis John Gosch Sr.; his mother-in-law, Mabel E. Gosch; a brother-in-law, Louis J. Gosch Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gosch Hanna.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Gosch Bradley; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles L. Bradley Jr. and Brenda Bradley, of Wyoming, and John W. and Rosa Bradley, of Dover; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley Jean and Woodrow Loller of Chestertown, Md., and Bonieta L. Bradley and Randall VanSant of Galena, Md.; a brother, James E. Clark of Dover; a sister-in-law, Hazel Gosch of Hartly; and a granddaughter, Ashley Lucille Loller, of Chestertown.
Services and burial were private.

John T. Johnson, 80
CLAYTON - John T. Johnson of Clayton died of complications of cancer Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in his home. He was 80.
Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Millington, Md., son of the late William and Anna Mabry Johnson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a self-employed businessman and most recently owned and operated B&J Motors in Smyrna.
Mr. Johnson was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 652 in Millington and of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Helen Fonto Johnson; three brothers, Clifton R. Johnson, Leo F. Johnson and Ray Johnson; and a sister, Anna E. Garrett.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthann Anthony Johnson; a son, Michael Johnson of Gap, Pa.; a daughter, Diane K. Johnson of New York City; three brothers, James Johnson of Dover and Brice Johnson and Lester Johnson, both of Clayton; two sisters, Minnie Pratt and Hazel Hamilton, both of Clayton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepdaughters, Diana Pearce, Nancy Deo, Lorraine Cook and Elaine Jennings; and a stepson, Kenneth Johnson.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Smyrna Wesleyan Church, 433 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Bert G. Weaber, 74
GEORGETOWN - Bert G. Weaber, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003. He was 74.
Mr. Weaber was the owner of Bert Weaber Co. Heating and Air Conditioning in Wilmington. After moving to Georgetown he was employed with Comfort Inc. and Carew Associates.
He was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran.
Mr. Weaber was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown, a Cub Scout leader and a Boy Scout leader. He received the Silver Beaver Award, the Wood Badge and the Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wenona Weaber; four sons and daughters-in-law, Mark L. and Autumn L. Weaber, Gary A. and Christine L. Weaber, Lee T. and Christine L. Weaber and Todd W. and Kelley Weaber; two brothers, Frank A. Weaber and Gerald C. Weaber; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church, 318 S. Dupont Highway, Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
A committal service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Diane Mason Bell, 56
DELMAR - Diane Mason Bell of Delmar died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in her home. She was 56.
Mrs. Bell was born in Baltimore, daughter of the late Elwood B. and Thelma Mason.
She was a third-grade teacher at North Laurel Elementary School, having taught for 22 years.
Mrs. Bell was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church, Delmar, the National Education Association and AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob Bell of Delmar; two sons, Michael and Sean Mitchell, both of Delmar; a stepson, Stephen, and his wife, Marina Bell, of Birdsnest, Va.; a step-daughter, Cindy, and her husband, Robert Lloyd, of Princess Anne, Md.; a granddaughter, Maren R. Lloyd; a sister, Patricia Mason Gruber of Gaithersburg, Md.; and a nephew, Harry Mason Gruber.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Douglas Albert will officiate.
Burial will be in First Baptist Cemetery, Pocomoke City, Md.

Virginia H. Bishop, 76
LEWES - Virginia H. Bishop of Lewes died from an automobile accident Tuesday, April 22, 2003. She was 76.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Lewes and raised by her foster mother, Annie Richardson.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bishop was an animal rights advocate and candidate for Lewes City Council.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Bishop, in 1997.
She is survived by a son, J. Lyons Bishop of Milton; a daughter, Annie R. Bishop of Milton; a granddaughter, Christine Lynn Reynolds of Higgins, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Reynolds; a brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Frances Hall of Florida; and a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Bob Kimmey of Seaford.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peters Episcopal Church, Main Street, Lewes.

Judith Koster Bradley, 56
SEAFORD - Judith Koster Bradley of Seaford died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 56.
Mrs. Bradley was born in Salisbury, Md., daughter of Melvin H. and Marian May Koster of Seaford.
She graduated from Laurel High School in the class of 1964. She then attended Tusculum College.
She was employed at DuPont Textiles and Interiors in Seaford for more than 37 years, and most recently held the position of technical assistant in the staple technical organization.
Mrs. Bradley enjoyed gardening and collecting handcrafts and was an avid pet enthusiast.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Drew H. and Linda Koster of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.

Charles Barry Fountain, 55
DOVER - Charles Barry Fountain of Dover died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in his home. He was 55.
Mr. Fountain was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Dover, son of Charles L. Fountain and Louise E. Fountain (his best friend).
He had a great love of animals, especially his beloved dog, Cole, and he loved hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Eric Fountain of Dover; two sisters, Beverly L. Killen and Sandra Liberto, both of Dover; a daughter, Dana Fountain Poore; and a grandson, Leslie of Fresno, Calif.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Claudio Consuegra will officiate.

CLAYTON - Joseph C. Jolls of Clayton died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 68.
Mr. Jolls was retired from the state of Delaware, Division of Highways. He was currently employed by Vault Security at Johnson Controls Inc. in Middletown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry; and a grandson, Jeffrey Klair.
He is survived by a son, Mike Jolls of Clayton; four daughters, Jennifer Cannon and Lynn Link, both of New Castle, Joan Rathel of Ridgeway, Va., and Kris Bozorth of Stoneville, N.C.; a sister, Janet Hughes of Middletown; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be noon Monday in Forest Cemetery, Del. 71, Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Robert Richard Leiter, 76
SEAFORD - Robert Richard Leiter of Seaford died from complications of a stroke Monday, April 21, 2003, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Elsmere. He was 76.
Mr. Leiter was born in Waynesboro, Pa., son of the late Louis Richard and Florence Evelyn Hettrick Leiter.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a truck mechanic-foreman for Specialized Leasing, Baltimore, retiring in 1988 after 17 years of service. He formerly owned Bob's Stamp Shop in Bridgeville, for seven years.
Mr. Lieter was a member of Nanticoke Post 6, American Legion, Seaford, and VFW Post 5246, Federalsburg, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fuhrmaneck Leiter; four sons, Dennis D. Leiter of Seaford, Laurence R. and Christopher D. Leiter, both of Bridgeville, and Russell G. Leiter of Seaford; a daughter, Daureen L. Kalinski of Baltimore; four brothers, Kenneth L. Leiter of Berkley Springs, W.Va., Arnold A. Leiter of Troy, N.Y., Harold L. Leiter of Greenbackville, Va., and Glenn F. Leiter of Baltimore; a sister, Joyce Sommers of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.

Dorothy E. 'Dot' Martin, 73
MILTON - Dorothy E. "Dot" Martin of Milton died Thursday, April 24, 2003, in Christiana Medical Center, Newark. She was 73.
Mrs. Martin was born in Milford, daughter of the late James C. and Sarah Ellingsworth Williams.
She had owned and operated Dot's Bus Service and driven a school bus for the past 37 years, retiring in 1999.
Her love of horses had her involved with the Delaware and American Quarter Horses Associations, the Delaware 4-H Horse advisory committee and a leader of the 4-H East Coast Riding Club. She was also an avid attendee of state fairs.
As a school bus contractor, she was a member of the Sussex County and state of Delaware School Bus Contractors Association.
Mrs. Martin had attended Milton Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin W. Martin, in 1982; a daughter, Dorothy Ann Martin; and a sister, Helen W. Carpenter, in 2002.
She is survived by a son, Franklin J. "Lin" Martin of Milton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Larry Holding and Patsy and Jeff Wells, all of Milton; five grandchildren, Kristin and Derek Wells and Shelby Holding of Milton, Franklin Adam of Milford and John Tyler Martin of Georgetown; a brother-in-law, William C. Carpenter of Milford; and a nephew, John Edward Martin III of Milton.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

Walter Clarence McClure Jr., 80
SEAFORD - Walter Clarence McClure Jr. of Seaford died of respiratory failure Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 80.
Mr. McClure was born in Wilmington, son of the late Walter C. McClure Sr. and Edna Meredith McClure.
He graduated from Wilmington High School with the class of 1941.
Mr. McClure was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Tingey in the South Pacific.
He was wire chief in the central offices for Bell Atlantic and its predecessor, Diamond State Telephone Co., retiring in 1983 after 42 years of service.
He was a gifted woodworker who shared the products of his talents with family and friends.
Mr. McClure was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Logue McClure, in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Givens McClure; a son, Walter C. McClure III of Dover; three daughters, Lynn McCann of Sedona, Ariz., Lea Wimbrow of Salisbury, Md., and Cheryl A. Dodd of Georgetown; two stepsons, Raymond Atkins of Georgetown and Keith Atkins of Seaford; a brother, Robert McClure of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Janet Wimmer of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.
