Funeral services for Dorothy Elizabeth Perkins Seaton, 93, of Dover, formerly of Chester, Pa., were held Monday, Feb. 26, in St. Peter s Non-Denominational Church, Chester. Mrs. Seaton died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in Churchman Village Nursing Center, Newark.
Mrs. Seaton was born in Greenwood, daughter of the late George E. Perkins Sr. and Nancy Smullen Perkins.
She was a homemaker.
She was a faithful member of St. Peter s Non-denominational Church, formerly Spencer Memorial U.A.M.E. Church, Chester, where she was at one time the secretary and a member of the Missionary Ministry. Mrs. Seaton loved her church and sponsored many trips and enjoyed planting beautiful flowers around the church.
Her early education was in the Greenwood, Bridgeville and Seaford areas. She moved to Chester and graduated from the Chester School.
Mrs. Seaton was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Seaton, who died Jan. 4, 1992; six brothers, Fred Perkins, George Perkins, Simeon Perkins, Herman Perkins, Harry Perkins and Norman Perkins; and three sisters, Ellen Jackson, Jane Thompson and Elsie M. Payne.
Mrs. Seaton is survived by three nieces, Elsie Stewart, of Wilmington, Dorothy E. May, of Dover and Vivian Freeman, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; three nephews, George Perkins and Robert Perkins, both of Wilmington, and Tyrone Perkins, of Sandy Hook, Ky.; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; a devoted brother-in-law, Spencer Bill Seaton, of Chester; a sister-in-law, Bernice Bootsey Smith, of Chester; a nephew, Judge Spencer Seaton and his family of Chester; and three special lifelong friends, Julia Sykes, Annabel Wright and Pearl Fontaine, all of Chester.

Shirley June Maslin Spry
Funeral services for Shirley June Maslin Spry, 84, of Chestertown, Md., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown. Mrs. Spry died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Chester River Hospital Center.
Born June 11, 1922, in Chestertown, Mrs. Spry was the daughter of the late Wallace Miller and Margaret Angeline Lingerfelt Maslin.
She attended Chestertown High School and graduated with the Class of 1939.
On June 14, 1940, she married John Benjamin Spry, Jr. and they made their home in Chestertown. She worked in the office for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spry was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 6, 2002; and by a daughter, Benita Hyland, in 2001.
Mrs. Spry is survived by two sons and their wives, John B. III and Julia Spry, of Chestertown, and Bob and Meri Spry, of Fredericksburg, Va.; and two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Faye Miller, of Dover, and Mary June and Bill Beals of Chestertown
She also is survived by nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband on November 6, 2002 and one daughter, Benita Hyland in 2001.

Kevin Michael Thornburg
Remembrance services for Kevin Michael Thornburg, 42, of Dover, were held Friday, Feb. 23, in Trader Funeral Home, Dover. Mr. Thornburg died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in his home with family present.
Mr. Thornburg was born June 13, 1964, in Phoenixville, Pa., son of the late Louie and Virginia Sheetz Marchianno.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and pets. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, working with model boats and airplanes. He was very handy working with wood and was very creative. He enjoyed helping others and took pride in his workmanship and his accomplishments.
Mr. Thornburg is survived by his wife, Theresa Thornburg; his mother-in-law, Marlene Cuje, of Dover; a brother, Glenn Thornburg, of Phoenixville; a special cousin and his wife, Randy and Belinda Bauer, of Harrington; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Interment was in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, west of Dover.

Funeral services for William A. Trimborn, 90, of Frederica, were held Tuesday, Feb. 27, in Marvil Funeral Home, Darby, Pa. Mr. Trimborndied Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Trimborn was born in Darby, Pa., son of the late John Trimborn and Ella Kloss Trimborn.
Mr. Trimborn was raised in Darby and lived there 53 years before moving to Frederica, where he had lived for the past 26 years.
He was a graduate of the Darby High School class of 1934, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Trimborn retired from the Ford Motor Company and Reynolds Metals, where he worked many years as building supervisor. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, bowling and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret H. Simms Trimborn; and a daughter, Helen Trimborn.
Mr. Trimborn is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and John Clancy Sr., of Prospect Park; two grandchildren, John Jr. and Colleen Karolyi and her husband Steve; two great-granddaughters, Caitlin and Mackenzie Karolyi; a sister, Mildred Beaston, of Bradenton, Fla.; and his beloved friend, Harriet Bradley, of Frederica.
A memorial service for former Dover city Councilman William Phillip Truitt, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover. Mr. Truitt died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Truitt was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Seaford, son of the late Claude W. Truitt and Mary Williams Truitt.
He graduated from Seaford High School and attended the University of Delaware until he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean War.
After his discharge, Mr. Truitt worked for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation for eight years, working in Salisbury, Dover, Baltimore and Smyrna. He then moved to Townsend Brothers Chevrolet, Dover, where he worked in sales management for 28 years, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, he worked for Parkview R.V. Center, Smyrna.
After his retirement, Mr. Truitt became interested in city of Dover government. He served on several committees, where his work was instrumental in the construction of a new headquarters for the Dover Police Department. He eventually made a successful run for Dover City Council from the Third District, serving from 1996 until 2004.
He was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover, a former member of the Dover Jaycees, where he served as president, the Delaware Jaycees, where he served as vice president and the Delaware Heart Association.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Truitt was preceded in death by a brother, C. Alan Truitt; his parents-in-law, Orval and Elizabeth Gardner; a sister-in-law, Jean M. Gardner; and a brother-in-law, James O. Gardner.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Gardner Truitt, of Dover; his son and daughter-in-law, W. Gregory and Linda Truitt, of Hockessin; his brother, John P. Truitt, of Cumberland, Md.; and a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bill Torbert, of Dover.
He also is survived by two grandchildren, Paige Truitt and Campbell Truitt, both of Hockessin; a godson, James D. Gardner, of Millsboro; a brother-in-law, Paul Gardner, of Warsaw, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Cynthia S. Gardner, of Long Point; a sister-in-law and her husband, Nora A. and Everett Warrington, of Long Point; a brother-in-law and his wife, Fred L. and Shirley Gardner, of Warrenton, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle Louise Waite
Memorial services for Myrtle Louise Waite, 64, of Dover, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Ms. Waite died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, in Westminster Village Healthcare Center, Dover.
Ms. Waite was born Aug. 28, 1942, in Ridgley, Md., to daughter of William Francis and Cora Jones Hignutt.
She grew up in Denton, Md., and raised her family in the Keene, N.H., area.
She worked for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill as a certified nurses aid. After her retirement, she worked at Westminster Village and in private homes, providing assisted care for patients. She enjoyed reading, crafting, crocheting and the beach.
Ms. Waite was preceded in death by a son, Alan Wayne Sussee, in 1988.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Norman Sussee, of Albany, N.Y., and Kenneth Wayne Sussee and William Joseph Sussee, both of Dover; a sister, Frances Fay Shorts, of Hartly; a host of nieces and nephews; and close friends, Joan Johnson, Janet Attix, Jeanie Durham and Diane Guy.

Roscoe Williams Jr.
Funeral services for Roscoe Williams Jr., 68, of Hartly, were held Saturday, Feb. 24, in Faries Funeral Chapel, Smyrna. Mr. Williams died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Williams was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Sylvania, Ga., son of Emily Mock Williams of Orlando, Fla., and the late Roscoe Williams Sr.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Ralph Cahall and Son, Smyrna, and also owned and operated Williams Backhoe Service.
Mr. Williams was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy McGinley Williams; a son, Daniel Williams, of Orlando; two daughters, Theresa Silves and Tammy Coblentz, both of Hartly; two brothers, Jack Williams, of Sorrento, Fla., and Dale Williams, of Orlando; three sisters, Margaret Ann Kimbro, of Tavares, Fla., Mary Spikes, of Orlando, and Gail Willis, of Leesburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Allen Layton Brinkley Sr., 96, of Dover, were held Monday, Oct. 16, in the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Dover. Mr. Brinkley died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, in Capitol Healthcare, Dover.
Born Feb. 2, 1910, in Camden, Mr. Brinkley was the son of the late Harry and Emma Brinkley.
He was a graduate of Delaware State High School for Colored People, which was located on the campus of Delaware State College (now University).
Mr. Brinkley served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Camden, N.J., Great Lakes, Ill., Shoemaker, Calif., and Oakland, Calif., during his two-year tour.
After he retired as a loadmaster from the Dover Air Force Base, he worked for YMCA of Delaware and Foster Grandparents of Delaware in various locations, including Central Middle School and PUDDEN, a facility for mentally and physically challenged children, until his sudden illness caused him to stop in January 1996.
Mr. Brinkley was an active member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Church, Smyrna, for more than 30 years, serving as a deacon, usher, trustee, Sunday school teacher and vice president of the senior choir.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred E. Hoxter Brinkley, whom he married Nov. 27, 1932; three sons, Ralph Brinkley, James Brinkley and Tyrone Brinkley; and two daughters, Mary Waters and Emogene Smith.
Mr. Brinkley is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Allen L. Brinkley Jr. and Harry and Calmetta Brinkley, all of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mildred Helena Hopkins and Angela and Carlton Turner Sr., all of Dover; 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandchild, leaving 100 descendants and counting; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his Mount Olive Pentecostal Church family.
Interment was in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
