Funeral services for Donald Douglas Pinder, 32, of Frederica, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday April 26, in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. Mr. Pinder died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in his home.
Mr. Pinder was born July 11, 1973, in Dover, son of John C. Sr. and Deborah A. Lambdin Pinder Sr.
He worked for Delaware Mechanical, installing HVAC heating and air conditioning ducts.
Mr. Pinder enjoyed fishing and working on motor vehicles.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinder is survived by his wife of six years, Crystal Young Pinder of Frederica; three daughters, Courtney Maladanaldo of Dover, Candice Pinder and Dezaray Pinder, both of Frederica; three brothers, John Pinder Jr. of Frederica and Scott Pinder and Jason Pinder, both of Dover; two foster brothers, Matthew Griffin and George Wilson, both of Dover; a sister, Danielle Rivers-White of Dover; a special cousin and her husband, Elizabeth and Warrant Officer Tim Aldrich of Jacksonville, N.C.; his dog, Tye; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth G. Silfies von Reider
Elizabeth G. Silfies von Reider, 85, of Dover, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. von Reider was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Arthur Franklin Sr. and Anna Corliss Silfies.
She was educated in the Wilmington parochial and public school systems.
After moving to Dover, she served in the payroll department of International Playtex, Inc., where she retired in February 1985 after 20 years of service.
Mrs. von Reider was a longtime member of the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. von Reider is survived by her husband of 65 years, John J. von Reider Sr., whom she married July 28, 1940; a daughter, Alice E. Stiles of Athens, Ga.; and two sons and a daughter-in-law, John J. Jr. and Veronica von Reider of Fort Worth, Texas, and Michael von Reider and his partner in life, David Hemming of Dover.
She also is survived by a sister, Lillian A. Reimer of New Castle; four grandchildren, Michael David DeFoe of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Michelle D. Mims and her husband Michael of Athens, Ga., John J. von Reider IV of Fort Worth, and Serena Lero and her husband Matthew of Fort Worth; four great-grandchildren, Michael Douglas DeFoe of Lake Havasu City, Christina DeFoe Danielle DeFoe and Alicia DeFoe, all of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, and then he attended the University of Southern California for two years.
Mr. Walker worked as a civil service airplane maintenance mechanic at Dover Air Force Base and also at the Dover post office as a clerk and union steward.
He was a member of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post No. 2 and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, both of Dover.

B. Reba Macklin Williams
Remembrance services for B. Reba Macklin Williams, 67, of Frederica, were held Saturday, April 22, in Trader Funeral Home, Dover. Mrs. Williams died Monday, April 17, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born in Milford, the daughter of Bertha V. Macklin of Frederica and the late William Macklin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Sonny Williams, Jr.; two brothers, Roland and Harry Macklin; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Macklin.
Mrs. Williams is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle and Kenneth DiGregorio of Drexel Hill, Pa., Tami and Rodney Richardson of Dover, and Carolee Williams Knight of Dover; a brother, William Macklin of Houston; two sisters and their husbands, Virginia and Alvin Schmick of Frederica and Carol and Edward Gauker of Milford; a granddaughter, Jacqueline MacBlain of Drexel Hill, Pa.; a grandson, John Williams of Frederica; and several nieces and nephews.
David Christian Young
Memorial services for David Christian Young, 31, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Houston, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 30, in the Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford. Mr. Young died as a result of a hit-and-run motorcycle accident, Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Florida.
Mr. Young was born July 11, 1972, in Ellicott City, Md., son of Scott H. Young of Houston and Sandra A. Snyder of North Carolina.
He had worked for the past 12 years at Wal-Mart in Titusville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Young is survived by a brother, Benjamin Christopher Young of Florida; his grandmother, Evelyn L. Young; an aunt, Laura M. Williams; an uncle, Charles R. Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by East Coast Cremation, Rockledge, Fla.
Technical Sgt. William Allen Sr., USAF (Ret.)
Funeral services for William Allen Sr., 72, of Wyoming, were held Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Bibleway Temple Church of God in Christ, Dover. Mr. Allen died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in his home.
Mr. Allen was born July 31, 1933, in Evergreen, Ala., son of the late Wilbert and Johnnie Mae Allen.
He moved to Pittsburgh at a young age and was raised there. He joined the armed services shortly after graduating from high school and later married his neighborhood sweetheart, the late Geraldine Morton. Together they had two children, Dale and William Jr. He was assigned to Dover Air Force Base in the early 1970s.
After his retirement from the Air Force, with 21 years of service, Mr. Allen began working at International Playtex Corp., where he met and married his wife of 33 years, Joyce Lorraine Friend, and bringing together and raising eight children.
He was a well-known figure in the community, a lifelong counselor, avid fisherman and mentor to young people. Shortly after meeting him, the formal name Mr. Allen always quickly changed to Pop.
He enjoyed many activities, including serving as coach and umpire for the Camden-Wyoming Little League and as a Cub Scout leader.
He also served on the board of directors for the First State Federal Credit Union. He received a number of awards, including the Outstanding Delawarean Award, the Raiffeisen Award and the Bergengren Award.
Mr. Allen was a member of Bibleway Temple C.O.G.I.C. and served on the deacons board, trustees board, men s choir, mass choir, missions department, bus driver of the Sunday school program, vice president of the usher board and chairman of the Kirkwood Community Center Inc. He was known as the man that gets the job done.
Through the community center, he established a summer feeding program, an outreach program that served dinners on Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as a youth tutoring program. His dedicated service was recognized in 2000 when he received an Agape Award from the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance for outstanding Christian service.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Allen is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Sheila and David Massey of Hampton, Va., Brontia and Anthony Beamon of Felton, Dale and Steven Pharr of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Charlene and Walter West of Marydel, Md.; and four sons and three daughters-in-law, Byron and Jean Friend of Camden, William and Charletter Allen Jr. of Magnolia, Donald Friend of Willow Grove, and Angus and Tonya Friend of Little Rock, Ark.
He also is survived by 26 grandchildren and five of their spouses; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Robert and Rose Allen of Detroit; and a sister, Lillie Mae Sanders of Mobile, Ala.
In addition, Mr. Allen is survived by a cousin who was like a brother, Clifford Billy Roach of Rochester, N.Y.; an uncle, Irmon Roach of Pittsburgh; an aunt, Sylvia Taylor of Ridgely, Md.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Interment with full military honors was in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, near Millsboro.

Robert Lee Courtney
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Robert Lee Courtney, 52, of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., was held Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Church of St. Katherine Drexel, Egg Harbor. Dr. Courtney died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, in Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point, N.J.
Dr. Courtney was born July 9, 1953, in Lakehurst, N.J., son of George Courtney Jr. of Dover and the late Edna Courtney.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Courtney was part of the staff as an OB/GYN at Shore Memorial Hospital. He had delivered many babies throughout the area having started his practice in 1985. He was a member of the Atlantic County Osteopathic Society, American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
He loved to spend time with his children and the family pets and served as a Scoutmaster and coach with the Egg Harbor Township Street Hockey League. He was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Church.
In addition to his mother, Dr. Courtney was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol Ingemi.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn and their four children, Robert Lee Courtney Jr., Ryan Courtney, Devin Courtney and Cara Courtney; his stepmother, Velenda Courtney of Dover; his brother, George Courtney III of Albany, N.Y., and his children, Brandon and Justin; and a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Joseph Manning of Powder Springs, Ga., and their children, Conor and Courtney.
Dr. Courtney also is survived by his father-in-law, Dominic Ingemi, two sisters-in-law: Susan Liberto and her husband Anthony of Blue Anchor, N.J., and Ann-Marie Nichols and her husband, Rick of Collings Lakes, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews, including Anthony, Lauren, Steven, Carol-Ann and Richard Jr.
