Funeral services for Irene H. Kowalski, 80, formerly of Magnolia, were held Monday, Jan. 9, in Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Oak Orchard. Ms. Kowalski died peacefully at her home on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006.
Ms. Kowalski was born Feb. 25, 1925, in Trenton, N.J., daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Padykula Kowalski.
She was a retired accountant for the U.S. Veterans Administration, Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Wozniak.
Ms. Kowalski is survived by two sisters, Sister Carameline Kowalski, CSSF of Lodi, N.J., and Marie Roche of Lewes; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas J. Kowalski of Tinton Falls, N.J., and Anthony P. and Joan Kowalski of Arlington, Va.; and seven nieces and nephews, Theresa Sincavage, Mary Ellen Holsneck, Thomas Roche, Janet McDowell, Judy Croux, David Roche and John Kowalski.
Memorial contributions in Ms. Kowalski’s name may be made to Felician Sisters Retirement Fund, 260 S. Main St., Lodi, NJ 07644.

William S. ‘Willie’ Luciano
William S. “Willie” Luciano, 67, of Dover, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Luciano was born May 14, 1938, son of the late Adrian and Monserrate Sotillo Luciano.
He was a member of Liberty Church in Dover. He loved the church and had a deep love for his family and friends. He also loved to help anyone in need and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Luciano of Dover; a brother and a sister-in-law, Sammy and Lisa Luciano; three sisters, Loida, Naomi and Rosa, all of New York; a brother-in-law, Orlando of New York; an aunt, Lolo of New York; his mother-in-law, Marie Ebert of Dover; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews in Delaware, New York, and Puerto Rico.
Services were private.

Daniel Masariegos-Perez
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Daniel Masariegos-Perez, 38, of Marydel, Md., Sunday, Jan. 8, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marydel. Mr. Masariegos-Perez died Sunday Jan. 1, 2006 in his home.
Mr. Masariegos-Perez was born Dec. 25, 1967 in Tacana, Guatemala, to Enuerto Perez and Felesita Masariegos-Perez.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Flormaria Soto-Perez of Tacana, Guatemala; his five children; a brother and sister-in-law Otilio Morales and Macedonia Soto-Perez of Marydel; a friend Freddy Velasquez who lived with him in Marydel; and an uncle Agusto Velasquz Perez of Tacana, Guatemala.

Eugene Robert McNatt
A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene Robert McNatt, 74, of Dover, was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover. Mr. McNatt died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at the Country Rest Home, Greenwood.
Mr. McNatt was born March 19, 1931, in Smyrna, son of the late Captain John and Catherine (Spath) McNatt.
He was a veteran in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
After the service, he worked for Holden and Mundy as a mechanic and was a driver for Preston Trucking.
He loved hunting and crabbing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Maria “Kitty” Kapral, Claonia “Mickey” Johnson, Dorothy Cole and Myrtle Shahan; and one brother, John McNatt Jr.
Mr. McNatt is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Voshell) McNatt; a son, Eugene McNatt Jr. of Bothell, Wash.; one grandson, Alex; one brother, Frederick McNatt of Dover; four sisters, Laura Paino of Middletown, Sadie Groch of Brookhaven, Pa., Mabel Lowman of Smyrna, and Joan Simmons-Strab of Newark; and his beloved cat, Bobby.
Funeral services for Pearl E. Morris, 100, of Dover, formerly of Wilmington, were held Saturday, Jan. 7, in Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna. Ms. Morris died Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006, at her home.
Ms. Morris was born Oct. 9, 1905, near Sudlersville, Md., the daughter of the late Herman H. Morris Sallie Walls Morris.
She was a homemaker.
Ms. Morris is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Sallie and Jim Craig, of Dover, with whom she lived.

Richard A. Murphy
Remembrance services for Richard A. Murphy, 73, of Magnolia, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier. Mr. Murphy died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, in his home.
Mr. Murphy was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Olean, N.Y., son of the late Chester Holmes and Martha Marie Bell Murphy.
He received his high-school diploma at age 56.
Mr. Murphy was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and a civil-engineering roofer at Dover Air Force Base for 30 years. He was the head roofer at the time of his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing and carpentry work. He was a “pro” bowler.
Mr. Murphy was a member of Walter L. Fox American Legion Post No. 2, and the Robbins Hose Co. of Dover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Murphy, in 1992; and a son, John Richard Murphy, in 2004.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Benjamin Allen and Donna Murphy of Broken Arrow, Okla., and David Louis Murphy of Magnolia; three daughters and their husbands, Benita Louise and James Minner of Dover, Sarahjo Lee and Larry Corder of Milford, and Joanne “Jodi” Kathleen and Brad Guffey of Tulsa, Okla.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Robert and Rita Murphy of Fulton, N.Y.
Mr. Murphy also is survived by 14 grandchildren, Sherman Cage, Megan R. Daigle, Dallas Allen Mason, Daphne Alyssa Mason, Melissa Corder, Brandon Corder, Allen Minner, Jason Minner, David Murphy Jr., Michael Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Laura Lee Murphy, Hannah Murphy and Conner Murphy; a great-grandchild, Madison Minner; an additional daughter-in-law, Heather Murphy of Dover; and his life companion, Louise Dixon of Magnolia.
Funeral services for Olga Nicholas, 85, of Wilmington, formerly of Dover, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Wilmington, where friends may call one hour prior. Mrs. Nicholas died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, in Wilmington.
Mrs. Nicholas was born May 6, 1920, in Deepwater, N.J., daughter of the late Steve and Marianthe Mansalas Plerhoples.
She and her husband James owned and operated the State Restaurant on Loockerman Street in Dover from 1940 until 1973. Mrs. Nicholas was well known for her charm and wit, and for a beautiful smile that she bestowed on many. Those who knew her will recall her with the fondest of memories.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nicholas was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; and by her sister, Katherine Kalegaros.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. William J. Nicholas, and Steve J. Nicholas, both of Wilmington; and a brother, Thomas Plerhoples of Wilmington.
Entombment will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Sharon Hills Memorial Park Dover.
