Clifton Stuart Seely, 80
GREENWOOD - Clifton Stuart Seely of Greenwood died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, in his home. He was 80.
Mr. Seely was born in Greenwood in 1922, son of the late George Frederick Seely and Florence Myrtle Stuart Seely.
Mr. Seely was a farmer all of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lena Seely of Greenwood; two daughters, Jeanette Seely of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Faye Faraone of Greenwood; a son, Mike Seely of Greenwood; two sisters, Alma Smith of Plantation, Fla., and Bernice Brittingham of Laurel; 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Everett C. Isaacs will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.
Stephen James Szypiotko, 45
MILFORD - Stephen James Szypiotko of Milford died of natural causes Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, in Christiana Hospital of Christiana Care, Newark. He was 45.
Mr. Szypiotko was born Nov. 23, 1957, in Paterson, N.J., son of the late John and Ann Szypiotko.
He was a master technician for I.G. Burton Co., Milford.
Mr. Szypiotko enjoyed gardening and the comfort of winter fires.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, of Milford; a daughter, Sara, of Milford; a son, Travis, of Milford; two sisters, Betty Szypiotko of Hawthorne, N.J., and Alice Bolding of Waldkwick, N.J.; and a brother, Tom Szypiotko of Randolph, N.J.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Reformation Lutheran Church, Milford.
Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Ho-ho-kus, N.J.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Donald W. Tubbs, 71
DAGSBORO - Donald W. Tubbs of Dagsboro died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 71.
Mr. Tubbs was born in Bishopville, Md., son of the late Samuel Tubbs and Meta Jones Tubbs.
He was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Ann Tubbs; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bruce Tubbs, Donald Jr. and Catherine Tubbs, and Stacey and Beverly Tubbs, all of Dagsboro; two brothers, Preston Tubbs of St. Martin's Neck, Md., and Sam Tubbs of Williards, Md.; and six grandchildren.
Services were in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Frankford.
Burial was in Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery.
Robert L. Andrews, 70
DOVER - Robert L. Andrews of Dover died Monday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Dover. He was 70.
Mr. Andrews was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Middletown, Va., son of the late Lovell E. and Pearl Nicholas Andrews.
He joined Lance Inc. in 1958 to work as a route salesman. He retired in 1993 after more than 35 years of service.
Mr. Andrews was a member of the Silver Lake Fishing Club, The Strasburg American Legion Post 77, the Garrision Lake Country Club and a past member of the Maple Dale Country Club
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pearl Rebecca Andrews; and two brothers, Roy A. and Garland E. Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Wilda Mowery Andrews of Dover; two sons, Rex A. Andrews of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., and Robert L. Andrews Jr. of Marydel; a sister, Dorothy A. Whitaker of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Clarence H. Andrews of Warrenton, Va.; four grandchildren; three nieces; and four nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Faries Funeral Home, 1250 South Governors Ave., Dover.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the River View Cemetery, Strasburg, Va.

Auretta Marie Lucas Webb Hurlock, 82
SEAFORD - Auretta Marie Lucas Webb Hurlock of Seaford died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. She was 82.
Mrs. Hurlock was the daughter of the late Howard Lucas and Mary Baker Lucas Hignutt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Emory Hignutt; and a grandson, Keith Russell Bounds.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Boyd Bounds of Salisbury, Md. and Karen and Dennis Hitch of Laurel; two sisters, Joyce Horstman and Della Lehmann; a dear cousin and friend, Rosemary Dean; five grandchildren and their spouses, Don and Terri Ward, Terri and Wayne Evans, Curtis and Pam Bounds, Sue and Dennis Hitch II and Dirk and Rhonda Hitch; 11 great-grandchildren, Antoinette, Lance, Tommy, Elizabeth, Raymond, Mary, John, Maggie, Kelsea, Brooke and Dylan; and additional cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be noon Wednesday in the Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Brent Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel.

Jack F. Parker, 57
SEAFORD - Jack F. Parker of Seaford died Wednesday, Jan 8, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident in Seaford. He was 57.
Mr. Parker was born in Salisbury, Md., son of the late Fred John Parker and Helen A. Culver Parker.
He was a 1963 graduate of Wicomico Senior High School in Salisbury.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve in Seaford.
Mr. Parker worked for the Dupont Co. in Seaford as an are supervisor. He retired with more than 30 years of service.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Mr. Parker was a member of the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Salisbury.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Shaw Parker of Seaford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer L. and Brett Jones of Laurel and Marie Parker and her fiancé Denston of Ocean City; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry F. and Joyce Parker of Salisbury; a niece, Cheryl Cox and her husband, Kevin of Salisbury; a nephew, Randy Parker and his wife, Melissa of New Burn, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Parker Jones and Sarah Nicole Jones.

Margaret E. Wilson, 97
DOVER - Margaret E. Wilson of Dover died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 97.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Wyoming, daughter of the late Harry and Annie Clark.
She was a homemaker and also worked for the Kent County Board of Elections.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Willow Grove Church of God, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Wilson in 1960; four daughters, Virginia Coursey, Florence M. Luff, Dorothy Luff and Ruth Berg; and a son, Earl F. Wilson Jr.
She is survived by three daughters, Hazel K. Korell of Henderson, Md., Patricia L. Hurley of Dover, and Violet Mullins of Elkton, Md., two sons, Harry R. Wilson of Willow Grove and William Wilson of Woodside; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and sgreat-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main Street, Felton.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Milton Kemp will officiate.

Daniel James Hogan, 26
LAUREL - Daniel James Hogan of Laurel died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Thursday, April 24, 2003, in Cooper Hospital, Camden. He was 26.
Mr. Hogan was born in Mount Holly, son of Debbie Hogan of Shamong, N.J. and Timothy Hogan Sr. of Medford, N.J.
He was employed as an auto body painter with the Complete Auto Body Shop in Seaford and has done this type of work all of his life.
He enjoyed restoring cars and car racing.
Mr. Hogan was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Laurel.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michele Parker Hogan; a son, Parker Thomas Hogan, and a child on the way; a brother, Timothy A. Hogan Jr. of Shamong; his paternal grandmother, Ursula Hogan; his mother-in-law and her companion, Sue Parker and Shreve Marshall of Burlington Township, N.J.; his father-in-law, Edward Parker and his wife, Julie, of Hammonton, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, Joshua and Timothy Parker; a sister-in-law, Ashley Parker; two grandmothers-in-law, Laura Parker and Wanda Nolan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front Street, Florence, N.J. A religious services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Rev. Fred Duncan will officiate.

Mary Lou Sutton, 68
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Mary Lou Sutton of Chestertown died of heart failure Saturday, April 26, 2003, in the Magnolia Hall Nursing Home, Chestertown. She was 68.
Mrs. Sutton was born in Baltimore, daughter of the late Charles Pippin and Ethel Greenwood Pippin.
She worked as a cashier for the A&P Grocery Store in Chestertown for 21 years before her health forced her to retire.
She enjoyed crocheting, country music and occasional bus trips. She was an avid Cal Ripkin Jr. fan.
Mrs. Sutton attended the St. Paul's Episcopal Church near Chestertown and participated in a weekly prayer group.
She is survived by her husband, William Henry Sutton Sr., whom she married on Jan. 9, 1954; a daughter, Kathy Sue Sutton and her companion, Jerry Everett of Chestertown; two sons, Steve and Ginnie Sutton of Concord, N.C. and Bill Sutton Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Brandon Clark, Amanda Lynn and Eric Ross Sutton, all of Concord.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.

Anni Reimann Williams, 74
LINCOLN - Anni Reimann Williams of Lincoln, formerly of Smyrna, died Wednesday April 23, 2003, in her home. She was 74.
Mrs. Williams was born in Germany, daughter of the late Paul and Maria Reimann.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed gardening, flowers and the outdoors.
She is survived by two sons; Gary Johnson of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Doug Johnson, of Hudsonville, Mich.; a daughter, Sheryll Johnson, of Missoula, Mont.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Erika Hurd of Hobe Sound, Fla.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Ida Jean Empty Woodyard, 46
LARGO, Md. - Ida Jean Empty Woodyard of Largo, formerly of Frankford, Del., died Friday, April 25, 2003, in the Prince Georges Hospital, Cheverly. She was 46.
Mrs. Woodyard was born in Frankford, daughter of George Empty of Jamaica and the late Clydie Mae Brooks Empty.
She was an U.S. Postal service employee in Upper Marlboro, retiring in 1994 due to disability.
Mrs. Woodyard was a member of the Woodstream Church in Largo and the Victory Baptist Church in Selbyville, Del.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Stephen H. Woodyard III; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen H. IV and Nikki Woodyard of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Xavier G. Woodward of Largo; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jasmine L. and Arthur Bowles of Branson, Mo. and Jamaca L. Woodyard of Largo; four brothers, George Parks, Norman Dempster, George Empty Jr. and Sgt. Anthony Empty; four sisters, Betty Ann Justice, Donnette Empty, Shari Watson and Judith Wiggins; and two grandchildren, Devon Woodyard and Nestle Woodyard.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, Del., where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Zoar Golden Acres Cemetery, Bishopville.
Neil D. Bason, 84
SEAFORD - Neil D. Bason of Seaford died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Seaford Retirement Center. He was 84.
Mr. Bason was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Smyrna, son of the late Leo and Elizabeth Bason.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in Iceland and Normandy and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Bason worked for Wilson Steamship Lines as a marine oiler. He also worked for Chrysler Corp. in Newark. He later moved from Smyrna to Long Beach, Calif., in the mid 1950s, where he worked for Rockwell International until retiring in 1981. After retiring he moved to Topock, Ariz.
Mr. Bason enjoyed hunting, bowling and craftwork.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Emily Bason in 1987.
He is survived by his four step children, Ronald Stevens of Dover, Renee Scuse of Smyrna, Joan E. Jones of Seaford and Mac Stevens of Hockessin; a brother, Clement Bason of Dover, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Friendship Church Cemetery, Smyrna.

Betty Jane 'Mom Bett' Creed, 90
HARRINGTON - Betty Jane "Mom Bett" Creed of Harrington died Friday, April 27, 2001, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial, she was a resident of the Milford Center for the past three years. She was 90.
Mrs. Creed was born in DeLuth, Ga., daughter of the late James Woodfin and Lorena Lowe Shepard.
Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as "Grandma Dynomite" as she was very active running a catering service for 15 years, making as many as 57 cakes in a single week. She also was manager of the Dairy Queen of Harrington in 1952, sold Avon, and was a Tupperware Dealer for 38 years. She had many friends that she enjoyed talking with.
Mrs. Creed was also a member of the Harrington Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Homer Creed in 1958; a daughter, E. Beatrice Carter on Sept. 11, 2000, and two brothers, Byron and Barney Shepard of Georgia.
She is survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, James N. and Patsy Carter Sr. of Greenwood, Richard L. and Debbie Carter of Wyoming, and John W. and Donna Fay Carter, Rosemary and Frank Zimmerman, and Bonnie and Bill Mohr, all of Harrington. 12 great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Roland Coon will officiate.
Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.
Janice R. Jackson, 41
DOVER - Janice R. Jackson of Wyoming died Monday, April 23, 2001, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was 41.
Mrs. Jackson was born June 23, 1959, in Washington, D.C.
She was employed as an accountant at the Veterans Administration Center in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory D. Jackson.
Service will be noon Monday at Union Baptist Church, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Gardens, Dover.

Julia Hedwig Smith, 77
GREENSBORO, Md. - Julia Hedwig Smith of Greensboro died of natural causes Friday, April 27, 2001, in her home. She was 77.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 30, 1923, in Cooksville, daughter of the late Francis David and Julia Guilta Smith.
She moved to Cambridge in 1985 from Clearwater Beach, then moved to Greensboro in 1992.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Smith Sr. on Jan. 5, 1999.
She is survived by a son, John A. Smith Jr. of Crofton; five daughters, Mary A. Taylor and Bernadette A. Tolson, both of Greensboro, Patricia L. Tolson of Denton, Susan T. Walls of Federalsburg, Colleen C. Taylor of Greensboro; five brothers, Albert Smith of Ellicott City, Francis Edward Smith of Emmitsburg, Leo Smith of Coronada Island, Calif., Kevin Smith of Weaverville, N.C., and William Donahue of Ellicott City; three sisters, Dorothy Feaga of Severn, Regina Clas of Woodbine, and Sr. Maritia Smith of Sandyhook, Ky., 21 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Ridgely, the Potters Clay Prayer group at the St. Gertrude's Priory.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, with a rosary at 8:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Ridgely.

Blaine Francis Bailey Jr., 66
BOWERS BEACH - Blaine Francis Bailey Jr. of Bowers Beach died Friday, April 25, 2003, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Wilmington, near Elsmere. He was 66.
Mr. Bailey was an electrician.
He coached Little League baseball, enjoyed spending time fishing and the outdoors and his special love for his dog, Dipsy Doodle.
Mr. Bailey was a member of Walter L. Foxx Post No. 2, American Legion, and C&W Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine F. and Pearl Taylor Bailey Sr.; and a sister, Francis Goslee.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alline Beck Bailey; a son, Joey Bailey of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Nancy Bailey Mehalshick and Christy Bailey Mace, both of Bowers Beach; a sister, Jane Fasone of Danberry, Conn.; six grandchildren, Jesse Pillittier, Anothy Pillittier, Brittney Mase, Ryan Mase, Blaine Bailey and Cole Bailey; and a great grandchild, Chad Sweeney Jr.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday in Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
