Ruth W. Jackson, 48
MILLINGTON, Md. - Ruth W. Jackson of Millington died of complications of cancer Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del. She was 48.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Dover, daughter of the late William G. and Gertrude Maude Greenhaugh Goldsborough.
She worked for Playtex Family Products in Dover as an inspector-packer, from December 1975 until her illness forced her retirement in October.
She married Richard Jackson Sr. June 2, 1991.
She enjoyed bowling and bowled in many leagues in Dover. She shared her love of bowling with many children by coaching children's leagues for many years. She loved animals, yard sales and collecting numerous articles as keepsakes for her home. Over the last couple of years, she had enjoyed quilting and counted cross-stitch. She loved people and spent much of her time worrying about other people's troubles while overlooking her own.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Haflingers Association.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Crystal Gieryna of Newport News, Va., Elizabeth Simmons of Marydel and Rita Cannon of Seaford, Del.; three sons, Richard Jackson Jr. of Pine Grove, Pa., and Charles "Chucky" Baugher of Dover and Richard Bailey of Felton, Del.; two sisters, Beverly Doeschcr of Champaign, Ill., and Linda Goldsborough of Florida; three brothers, Bill Goldsborough of Port Orange, Fla., Norman "Gene" Goldsborough of Dover and Eddie Goldsborough of Woodside, Del.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends and family may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton.

Thomas Randolph Jaggard, 63
CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Thomas Randolph Jaggard of Chestertown died of natural causes Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. He was 63.
Mr. Jaggard was born in Camden, N.J., son of Margaret Potter Clinger Harris of Chestertown and the late John K. Jaggard.
He graduated from Haddonfield (N.J.) High School, class of 1957; he then attended Rutgers University in Camden. He received his bachelor of science degree from Philadelphia College and then continued his education there and became a registered pharmacist. He practiced at Palmyra Pharmacy in Palmyra, N.J., and then at Mainline Pharmacy in Cinnaminson, N.J. In 1966, he purchased Marlton Pharmacy in Marlton, N.J. He sold his business in 1981 and moved to Kent County, and began farming. He worked as a pharmacist at Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital, Chestertown, and in November 1990, he purchased Denton Pharmacy in Denton.
Mr. Jaggard was married to Joan B. Jaggard, then of Haddonfield, N.J., and now of Medford, N.J.
He enjoyed dabbling in real estate and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing tennis at the Elkton Indoor Tennis Club and at Washington College.
Mr. Jaggard was a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard T. Jaggard, Feb. 15, 1996.
In addition to his mother and former wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Leary of Rock Hall; two sons, Glen R. Jaggard of Southampton, N.J., and Alan E. Jaggard of Tabernacle, N.J.; and seven grandchildren, Megan Leary and Tyler Leary, both of Rock Hall, Joshua Jaggard and Steven Jaggard, both of Brooklyn, Ohio, Dylan Jaggard and Hailey Jaggard, both of Southampton, and Brendan Jaggard of Tabernacle.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home P.A., 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be private.

Leroy John Reihms, 79
SMYRNA - Leroy John Reihms of Smyrna died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, where he had been a resident since June 1995. He was 79.
Mr. Reihms was born March 20, 1923, in Clayton, son of the late Louis and Anna George Reihms.
He had worked as a farm laborer.
He leaves no immediate survivors.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Pastoral Care Chapel of the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill, 100 Sunnyside Road, Smyrna.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Juliet H. White, 76
REHOBOTH BEACH - Juliet H. White of Rehoboth Beach and Long Neck, and formerly of Hanover, Pa., died of a heart attack Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in Christiana Hospital of Christiana Care, Newark. She was 76.
Mrs. White was a retired supervisor for the U.S. Naval Supply Depot in Pennsylvania.
She was a member of East Gate Presbyterian Church in Long Neck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. White, in 2001.
She is survived by a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Douglas and Linda White of Camp Hill, Pa.; two brothers, C. Guy Hostetter of Smyrna and Harold J. Hostetter of Papillion, Neb.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery South, near Millsboro.

Arlington J. 'Juice' 'Brother' Wiltbank Sr., 80
LEWES - Arlington J. "Juice" "Brother" Wiltbank Sr. of Lewes died of complications of a stroke Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, in Harbor Healthcare in Lewes. He was 80.
Mr. Wiltbank was born March 28, 1922, in Milford, son of the late Marjorie Ross and James Lewis.
He was adopted by the late Rebecca and Benjamin Wiltbank, then of Lewes, where he grew up and attended school.
He finished school, graduating from Howard High School in Wilmington.
Mr. Wiltbank served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged.
He, at one time, owned his own dry-cleaning business, then worked for Mills Coursey Dry Cleaning business in Lewes, and then, worked for several restaurants and the Henlopen Hotel in Rehoboth Beach as a cook
Mr. Wiltbank was a member of St. George AME Church in Lewes, where he served as usher, steward, trustee and senior choir member, and he took great delight in playing his saxophone in church and for various programs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Louise Stanley Wiltbank, in 1990; four children, William, Arlington Jr., Claudette and Gilbert; and a grandson, Glen.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-laws, Claudia and Harold Johnson of Lewes and Kathleen and the Rev. Thomas Brown of Ellendale; a son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Juanita Wiltbank of Milton; a daughter-in-law, Barbara N. Wiltbank of Lewes; a great-nephew, Robert Lewis of Wilmington; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a devoted friend and neighbor, Spencer Kennedy of Lewes.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. George AME Church, 317 Park Ave., Lewes, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in People's Memorial Park, Lewes

Viola Blocksom, 89
SEAFORD - Viola Blocksom of Seaford died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was 89.
Mrs. Blocksom was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Cape Charles, Va., daughter of the late Jeremiah and Harriet Williams.
She retired in 1994 as owner and manager of a used-furniture, antiques and clothing store in Bridgeville. For many years she operated a restaurant in Seaford.
During the late 1940s through the 1960s, she was noted as an outstanding advocate and supporter for the advancement of education of minority children in Seaford.
Mrs. Blocksom was one of the founding members of East Clarence Street Church of God, where she served in many capacities.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Blocksom, in 1985; five children, Marie, Otho, Warren, William and Betty; and six sisters and a brother, Fannie Ricketts, Pauline Brown, Mable Palmer, Lottie Ricketts, Alice Green-Lattimer, Louise Palmer and Joshua Williams.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Harold F. Blocksom and Maryann Chapman of Seaford and Halvin T. and Pauline Blocksom of Wilmington; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Doris and William Jenkins, with whom she resided, and Gail and Tim Russell-Weal, all of Seaford, Joanne Gibson, Mary and H. Nelson Burton and Joyce Bowers, all of Dover, and Judy and Tony Abbott of Norcross, Ga.; two nieces whom she shared in raising as her daughters, Edith Evans and Ada Works, as well as Mrs. Works' husband, Roscoe, all of Albany, Ga.; two other daughters-in-law, Doreatha Blocksom of Philadelphia and Delores "Doll" Blocksom of Baltimore; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Willie and Pauline Williams and Robert and Lola Williams, all of Seaford; a sister, Ruth Matthews of Seaford; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in East Clarence Street Church of God in Seaford.

Mildred Cross, 74
DOVER - Mildred Cross of Dover died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, surrounded by her family. She was 74.
Mrs. Cross was born March 7, 1928 in Harrison, Ga., daughter of the late Sam Barlow and Mary Sheila Freeman.
She attended the public schools in Harrison, Ga.
She was a former employee of Wheatly Canning Co. in Clayton, and Green Giant Packing Co. in Felton.
She was a devoted homemaker.
Mrs. Cross was a faithful member of Star Hill A.M.E. Church, Dover. She was a Christian woman, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother and a kindhearted friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, A.C. Cross; and a daughter, Dorothy Jean Allen.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, A.C. Mitchell, as well as Mr. Mitchell's friend, Alice Porter, both of Upper Darby, Pa., Wilburn and Robena Cross of Philadelphia, Curtis Cross of Dover and Walker and Gwen Cross of Dover; three grandsons whom she raised, Roosevelt Allen III of New York City and Antonio C. Allen and Alahandro D. Cross, both of Dover; one adopted son, Joseph Jones, and Mr. Jones' wife, Janet, both of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rose M. Cross-Spielman and Greg Spielman and Patricia Cross-Pitts, all of Dover; three granddaughters she raised, Angela L. Allen, Lakeyra N. Spielman and Lakendra N. Spielman, all of Dover; two sisters, Mary Lee Taylor of Harrison and Mammie Jones of Dublin, Ga.; a brother, Howard Barlow of Findale, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Retha Mae Barlow-Cooper of Dover; two special friends, Pearl White and Korene Jones, both of Dover; a special niece whom she loved and adored, Gladys Moore Brown; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be noon Friday in Crossroads Christian Church, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Gibbs Memorial Cemetery, Woodside.

Ruddell Sylvester 'Snooge' Ward, 74
LEWES - Ruddell Sylvester "Snooge" Ward of Lewes died Monday, April 28, 2003, in his home. He was 74.
Mr. Ward was born June 12, 1928, in the Coolspring area, son of the late Ossieola Perry and Ruddell Ward.
He worked for A.P. Croll Construction, Georgetown, and Shore Lumber Co., and retired from bartending at the former Five Points Inn Tavern in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Marcelia H. Ward of Georgetown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Amelia and James Frazer and Yvonne White, all of Rehoboth Beach; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Wayne and Ritsue Nagodne of Rehoboth Beach, Paris Rodney White of Lewes, Marvin and Debbie White of Seaford, William and Martha White of Felton, Carl White of Lewes and Thomas and Pamela White of Bridgeville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Maggie Hood of Coatesville, Pa., Bradford and Katherine Perry of Dover and Ronald and Evelyn Waples of Dagsboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Harold Harmon of Dover; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Mae Warren, 79
BRIDGEVILLE - Ethel Mae Warren of Bridgeville died of heart failure Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 79.
Mrs. Warren was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Exmore, Va.
She was a factory worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Warren.
She is survived by two brothers, Edward Bivens of Parsley, Va., and James Bivens of Georgetown; two sisters, Annie Spence of Frankford and Agnes Blake of Wilmington; a brother-in-law, Frank Blake of Wilmington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special friend, George Albury of Seaford.
Services will be noon Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Middleford.

Nancy Ann Baker Zgoba, 71
CLAYTON - Nancy Ann Baker Zgoba of Clayton died after a lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by her family Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in her daughter's home. She was 71.
Ms. Zgoba was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Indianapolis, daughter of the late Samuel and Grace (Bogart) Beck. Ms. Zgoba was a lifelong resident of Clayton. Her final two years were spent in Dover with her daughters.
She was the daughter of an ironworker. She traveled extensively and attended 15 schools.
Her life's ambition was to be a mother.
Ms. Zgoba is most widely known for her service with Red's Moffitt Bus Service in the 1950s and for 20-plus years helping to run Zgoba Garage Door Sales & Service.
An avid motorcyclist in her youth, she returned to the sport briefly as recently as 2000. She accompanied her son-in-law as a passenger to Key West, Fla., when she was 69. Her passion late in life was crocheting and pretty punch (Russian punch needle). Her favorite motif was Indian themes, and her work sold all over the country.
For much of her adult life, Ms. Zgoba traveled extensively in the United States and Canada, primarily through part-time and, finally, full-time motor home travel. She traveled for 13 years in the motor home, including through 48 states.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cathy Jacobs and Fay Tally, both of Dover; a son, Richard "Skip" Horn of Lake City, Fla.; a granddaughter, Linda Funk Rexroth of Magnolia; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Reeves O. Hornby of West Creek, N.J.; and her husband, Louis Zgoba of Clayton.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private.

J. Franklin Bradley Jr., 68
DENTON, Md. - J. Franklin Bradley Jr. of Denton died Tuesday May 1, 2001, in his home. He was 68.
Mr. Bradley was born in Felton, Del., the son of the late John Franklin Bradley Sr. and Dorothy Brown Bradley Baynard.
He was a graduate of Caroline High School, class of 1949.
Mr. Bradley was a U.S. Army veteran.
In 1990 he retired as supervisor at the DuPont Co. in Seaford, Del. after 40 years of service.
He loved fishing.
Mr. Bradley was a member of Carolina American Legion Post 29.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest B. Bradley Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Bradley of Denton; two sons, John F. Bradley III of Chestertown and Kenny Lister of Barclay; a daughter, Brenda Pepper of Denton; a nephew, Ernest B. Bradley Jr. of Denton; a sister-in-law, Virginia Bradley of Denton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Beulah.

William Gould Sr., 91
WILMINGTON - William Gould Sr. of Wilmington died Wednesday, April 26, 2001, in Wilmington Hospital. He was 91.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Gould; four daughters, Elmira Keys, and her husband, Deweese, Anna Mae Benson, and her husband, Harry, Eleanor Cofield, and Juanita Gould; four sons, William Gould Jr., and his wife, Joyce, Kenneth Gould, John Gould and Kenneth Henry; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Service will be private.

Norman D. Kennedy, 42
DOVER- Norman D. Kennedy of Dover died Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 42.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Dover, the son of Gloria Harrington Cregar of Dover and the late Kenneth Kennedy.
At the time of his death, he worked in the maintenance department for the Dover Mall Corp. and had previously been employed at Dover Hardware.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Paul Kennedy of Felton; and two brothers, Kenneth Kennedy of Magnolia and Steve Kennedy of Dover.
Cremation services and final disposition will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Margaret Elizabeth Kramer, 89
CENTREVILLE, Md. - Margaret Elizabeth Kramer of Centreville died Monday, April 30, 2001, in William Hill Manor, Easton. She was 89.
Mrs. Kramer was born Dec. 6, 1911, in Waynesboro, Pa., daughter of the late Jacob Abner and Barbara Stouffer Neuman Miller.
She graduated from Ursinus College in 1932.
Mrs. Kramer worked for the General Services Administration as a secretary for 30 years, retiring in 1966.
She married Alexander W. Kramer in 1967. They moved to Queen Anne's County, where Mrs. Kramer worked for the Upper Shore Aging as a secretary.
Mrs. Kramer was very active in the AARP.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; three brothers, Fred Miller, Edward Miller and Richard Miller; and a sister, Mrs. B. William Lance.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Centreville.
Burial will be private.
Harry C. Rash, 89
DOVER - Harry C. Rash of Dover died of heart failure Saturday, April 28, 2001, in Capitol Nursing Home, Dover. He was 89.
Mr. Rash was born March 7, 1912, in Leipsic. He resided in Newark for 30 years.
He retired from the University of Delaware in 1974 after serving 23 years as head maintenance engineer.
He was an accomplished gardener, taking pride in his 3-pound tomatoes and 27-inch green beans, all grown in large containers on his porch and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Mr. Rash also enjoyed spending time every Friday at his favorite restaurant, The Smyrna Diner, with his sister, Mary Collins, or his best friend, Jim Bradley, for chicken and dumplings. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, singing, calling Bingo and riding in fast red Corvettes. He was thankful for the 89 wonderful years on this great Earth, his large family, many friends and those who cared for him at Green Meadows, The Heritage and Capitol, and also for hospice and those pastors who helped him through some difficult times. He was especially thankful for his nieces, Carolyn Akin of Smyrna and Florence Brown of Dover, who cared for him his last eight years with us.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Zella Hunter Rash, in February 1989; four sisters; and nine brothers.
In addition to his two nieces, he is survived by a sister-n-law, Ann Rash of Smyrna; a brother-n-law, Bill Smith of Rock Hall; four additional nieces, Mary Craig of Clayton, Gilda Foraker of Peraland, Texas, Ciara Inmon of Elkton and Sarah Moody of Winston Salem, N.C.; two nephews, James Rash of Wyoming and Paul Reed of Smyrna; and a host of other family members and friends.
Service will be 11 a.m. today at the Robert T. Jones & Foard Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St. in Newark, where friends may one hour prior to service. Pastor Jim Hawkins will officiate.
Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery.
Howard P. Workman, 81
MILTON - Howard P. Workman of Milton died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 81.
Mr. Workman was born in Milton, the son of the late Robert and Virgie Clendaniel Workman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He owned and operated Workman's Package Store in Milton, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Workman was a member of American Legion 20 in Milton and the Quarter Horse Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mitchell Workman, on June 17, 2000.
He is survived by a sister, Marie Deaner of Greensboro, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St. in Milton, where friends may one hour prior to service.
Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
