DOVER - Carl S. Clendaniel of Dover died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 48.
Mr. Clendaniel was employed by Wharton & Barnard as a sales person for 71/2 years.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1971.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Clendaniel was a great sports fan and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Mary C. Clendaniel of Dover; two brothers, Mike Clendaniel of Hartly and Butch Clendaniel of Dover; and one sister, Joanne Clendaniel of Felton.
A service will be private
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International, 100 West 10th St., Suite 1103, Wilmington, DE 19801.

William Robert Gibson, 76
RIDGELY, Md. - William Robert Gibson of Ridgely died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, in Shore Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Denton. He was 76.
Mr. Gibson was born July 6, 1924, in Verga, N.J., the son of the late William H. and Ada Ware Gibson.
He is survived by several cousins.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today in Ridgely Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro.

Albert L. Ladd, 83
LINCOLN - Albert L. Ladd of Lincoln died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, in his home. He was 83.
Mr. Ladd was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1943-1945.
He was employed with Tingley-Reliance Rubber Corp. from 1936 to 1939, and then worked as a control rigger for Eastern Aircraft Division at their plant in Linden, N.J., where he was promoted to airplane inspector before leaving for military service in 1943. After the war, he worked at various other jobs, retiring in 1995 after eight years as an electrician with William C. Taylor & Sons Electrical Contractor, Milford.
Mr. Ladd was a life member of the Blue Hen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6483, Milford, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2316, Milford.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Ladd, in 1976.
He is survived by a son, Harold E. Ladd of Lincoln; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rogers Funeral Home, 391 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Burial will be private.

Allan C. Lynch Sr., 82
MILFORD - Allan C. Lynch Sr. of Milford died Wednesday Jan. 17, 2001, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. He was 82.
Mr. Lynch was born in Selbyville. son of the late Alfred L. and Jennie Payne Lynch.
He was an Army veteran.
He owned and operated Albar Fashions, Milford, for many years. He also worked 32 years for H.R. Phillips Inc. (now an oil service).
Mr. Lynch was a past master and 50-year member of Temple Lodge 9; a member of Evergreen Forest 49, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; and a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Barbara Bradford Lynch; two sons, Allan C. Lynch Jr. of Wilmington and John David Rickards of Dagsboro; two daughters, Donna Alice Hugg of Dover and Elizabeth Ann Rickards Carey of Laurel; a brother, E. Elwood Lynch of Lewes; nine grandchildren, Stephen Hugg, Jennifer O'Neil, Meghan Rickards, Benjamin Wilkins, Brandon Wilkins, Zachary Richards and Lynden Carey, and Allison and Justin Wilkins, who lived with him.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
A service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Berry-Short Funeral Home.

Margaret J. McDowell, 90
GREENWOOD - Margaret J. McDowell of Greenwood died of pneumonia Thursday. Jan. 18, 2001, in the Milford Center. She was 90.
Ms. McDowell was a homemaker.
She was a honorary member of the Greenwood CHEER Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac J. and Minnie Priestley McDowell; two brothers, Robert and Jack McDowell; and a sister, Helen Lloyd Volkmar.
She is survived by several nephews and nieces.
A service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery.

Helen Pittard McIlvaine, 91
SALISBURY, Md. - Helen Pittard McIlvaine of Salisbury died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, in Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury. She was 91.
Mrs. McIlvaine was born in Fairmount, Del., daughter of the late George D. and Eva Burton Pittard.
She was a homemaker. She and her late husband, Clarence Linden McIlvaine, moved to Salisbury to make their home at Canal Woods in the mid-1970s. Also, she worked as a Red Cross assistant and became representative and director before retiring in 1973.
Mrs. McIlvaine served on the state board of the Federation of Women; was a former trustee and president of the Georgetown New Century Club; was a member of the Presbyterian Church her entire life and served as a deacon and elder; was a member of the Samuel Chase chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and was a member of the Hornkill chapter of the Daughters of American Colonies.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Arthur Lee Pittard, Lester H. Pittard, G. Robert Pittard, Joseph R. Pittard, Thomas J. Pittard and George D. Pittard.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, C. Linden and Beverly McIlvaine of Avon Park, Fla., and Marvin L. and Jan McIlvaine of Salisbury; a brother, Edwin B. Pittard of Georgetown, Del.; and two grandchildren.
A service will be private.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Wicomico Presbyterian Church, 129 Broad St., Salisbury, MD 21801.

John Wesley Reynolds, 84
GALENA, Md. - John Wesley Reynolds of Galena died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, in Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 84.
Mr. Reynolds was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in St. Georges, Del. His mother, Harriett Carrow Reynolds, died when he was 2.
He and his brother, Harvey, began farming together in St. Georges and in 1950, moved to Wickwire Farm, Earleville, and continued farming until 1975, retiring to Galena.
Mr. Reynolds was a former member of Cecilton Volunteer Fire Co. and holds memberships at the Galena Volunteer Fire Co,, the Elkton Moose Lodge 851 and St. Georges United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey G. and Clara B. Reynolds; two brothers, Harry Batten and Harvey Reynolds; a sister, Thelma Adams; and a son-in-law, J. Robert Bolton Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia E. Reynolds; three children, Doris E. Bolton of Earleville, Marsha and her husband, Rodney Perrine, of Elkton, and James C. and his wife, Patricia Glanden, of Newark; six grandchildren, Pamela L. Deck of Hagerstown, Robert Bolton Jr. of Wilmington, Mary L. Birkentall and Donna Davis, both of Earleville, Matthew Perrine of Fairfax, Va., and Greg Perrine of Elkton; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann R. Jones of Claymont, Del., and May Belle Deputy of Middletown; and a brother, Roger G. Reynolds of St. Georges.
A service will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., where friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in St. Georges Cemetery.

Francis J. Bonkowski Jr, 48
MILTON - Francis J. Bonkowski Jr. of Milton died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford. He was 48.
Mr. Bonkowski was born in Wilmington, son of Elizabeth (Denney) Bonkowski of Lincoln and the late Francis J. Bonkowski Sr.
He was a 1972 graduate of Salesianum School.
He worked as a maintenance technician for New Castle County.
Mr. Bonkowski was a member of Union 1607, New Castle County, and served as shop steward.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cynthia (Roszel) Bonkowski; two sons, Francis J. Bonkowski III and John C. Bonkowski, both at home; a brother, Michael Bonkowski of Centerville; and three sisters, Patty Freas of New Castle, Judy Fagan of Cape May Courthouse, N.J., and Betsy Hughey of Lincoln.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, Inc., 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Harbeson Cemetery, Harbeson.

Raymond T. Curatola, 81
MILLVILLE - Raymond T. Curatola of Millville, formerly of Baltimore, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in Beebe Medical Center. He was 81.
Mr. Curatola was a building inspector for the state of Maryland and a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laura; and a brother, Robert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be private in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Sussex Chaper, 4 Main Sail Drive, Milton, DE 19968.

Alexander Lewinsohn, 81
MIDDLETOWN - Alexander Lewinsohn of Middletown died suddenly Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in his home. He was 81.
Mr. Lewinsohn was a member of the U.S. Army Band and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was a music teacher with the New York City Department of Education. After retirement he was an independent music instructor.
Services and burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery chapel in Summit.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be to the Veterans Administration Hospital, 1501 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Mary Napolitano, 93
CAMDEN-WYOMING - Mary Napolitano of Camden-Wyoming died Friday, March 28, 2003, in her home. She was 93.
Mrs. Napolitano was born and raised in Queens, N.Y., daughter of the late Rasimo Vecchione and Jennie Siricia Vecchione. She had moved to the Camden-Wyoming area in 1993 after the death of her husband, Andrew Napolitano, who died in March 1993.
In her early years she had worked as a maker of children's clothing for Bart and Kay Manufacturing in New York, and had later devoted her time as a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Napolitano enjoyed needlework and gardening and will be remembered for the care and attention she gave to the tomatoes she loved growing. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Anne Anaya of Camden, with whom she had lived, Jean Kalish of Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, N.Y., and Lucy Polis of Bay Shore, Long Island; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Romanelli Funeral Home, 114-30 Rockaway Blvd., South Ozone Park, N.Y.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ozone Park, N.Y.
Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Catherine Leona Spinka, 83
WYOMING - Catherine Leona Spinka of Wyoming, formerly of Hartly, died Friday, March 28, 2003, in her home. She was 83.
Mrs. Spinka was born May 6, 1919, in Hartly, daughter of the late Charles R. and Jane Abril Bradley.
She was a dairy farmer along with her husband for most of their married life.
Mrs. Spinka was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dover Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph J. Spinka Sr.
She is survived by a son, Rudolph J. Spinka Jr. of Hartly; two sisters, Anna Severson of Kenton and Virginia Bradley of Bowie, Md.; and a brother, Albert L. Bradley of Tevois, Pa.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dover Ward, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Templeville Cemetery, Templeville, Md.

Horace 'Buddy' Wilkinson, 86
CAMDEN-WYOMING - Horace "Buddy" Wilkinson of Camden-Wyoming died Friday, March 28, 2003, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 86.
Mr. Wilkinson was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Hazlettville, son of the late Harry and Delia (Kemp) Wilkinson.
He had worked for the highway department for the state of Delaware for 40 years, retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed his retired life with traveling, fishing, hunting, especially duck hunting, golfing, year and flower gardening.
Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Peoples Church of Dover, a life member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co. and founding member of the ambulance squad. He was past president, chief and was recognized with the honor as fireman of the year in 1967. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He also was a former member of Garrisons Lake Golf Club and former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He will be remembered as a loving husband, companion, father and pop pop with a beautiful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene Wilkinson; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann and Jeff Reed of Dover; two grandsons, Carl Reed of Rehoboth and Mikell Reed of Dover; a granddaughter, Wendy Reed of Dover; a great-grandson, Nikell Reed of Dover; two nieces, Doris Best of Statesboro, Ga., and Joan Thorp of Millsboro; and two great, grand dogs, Luke and Vader.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Services will be noon Tuesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
