Gladys Goodson
Mrs. Gladys Goodson of Hatchbend passed away at her home Monday, August 2, 2004 at the age of 78. Mrs. Goodson was born and lived in Dixie County until 14 years ago when she moved to Hatchbend in Lafayette County. She was a homemaker and mother and for many years worked for the Florida Forest Service at Holly Hill fire tower and then the Levy County School board. She was a Stanley Home Products Dealer for thirty plus years in both Florida and Georgia. She was a member of the Hatchbend Apostolic Church for the past 40 years spending her vacation time at conventions and camp meetings.
She is survived by her daughter Betty (Farrell) Mikell of Old Town; son Marcus Jones of Hatch Bend; brother Morris Jerrells of Cross City; sisters, Pearl Cribbs of Bell and Mary Corbin of Cross City; granddaughter DeAnna Hicks (Tommy) Haire and great granddaughter Caitlynn Haire. She is preceded in death by parents Alex and Hattie Jerrells, sister Cleo Sullivan and brother Jimmy Jerrells.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Goodson were held on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 3:00 PM at the Hatch Bend Apostolic Church with Rev. Steve Boyd officiating. Burial followed in the Hatch Bend Apostolic Church Cemetery. A visitation was held Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 2:00 AM at the Church.

Lyndal Virginia Junot
Lyndal Virginia Junot, 73, passed away at North Florida Regional Hospital after a long illness. Born in Jena on January 11, 1931, she later moved to New York until her return to Steinhatchee in 1985 where she owned and operated Lynn Rich Restaurant with her husband Richard.
Mrs. Junot is preceded in death by her parents Rozier and Annie Romines Overstreet; brother Bobby Overstreet; and sisters, Elaine Corbin and Julia Kelly.
Mrs. Junot is survived by her husband Richard Junot of Steinhatchee; brother Dale Overstreet of Steinhatchee; and sisters Evie Pearl Ness of Bradenton, and Betty Hurst of Gainesville, FL; three children; three grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard H. “Dick” Junot
Richard H. “Dick” Junot passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2004 at his home in Steinhatchee, FL of natural causes. He was born on February 2, 1935 in Rochester, NY, and retired from General Dynamics. Mr. Junot was U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean War and was Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his brothers, Bill Junot of Greenville, NC, George Junot of Lima, NY, Ray Junot of Rochester, NY and Carl Junot of Zephyrhills, FL; sister Betty Brockman of Zephyrhills, FL; and numerous nephews and nieces. He also has one daughter.
Mr. Junot was preceded in death by his wife Lyndal Virginia Junot and brother Bob Junot of Hemstead, NY.
Mr. Junot was cremated on August 19, 2004.
Mooring Funeral Home of Gainesville, FL was in charge of the arrangements.
Charles R. Smith
Charles R. Smith, age 57 of Melbourne, Florida died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at his home.
He was born in Tampa, Florida and moved to Brevard County in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Smith; stepsons, Joseph Brandon and Mike Brandon; brothers, Garry R. Smith and Larry R. Smith; sisters, Barbara Herring and Patricia Lamb; and five grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held in Old Town, Florida on August 14, 2004.

Mr. Strickland past away in his own home on June 12, 2004 at 10:45 pm.
Survivors include sisters, Ruby Hurd, Brooksville, FL, Betty Cooper, Caryville, FL, Mary Strickland, Colorado, Frances Strickland, Tennessee; brothers, Clarance Strickland, Jake Strickland and Robert Strickland, all of FL; sons, Eugene Suggs of Old Town, Allen Strickland of Hohenwald, TN, Kirk Strickland, Buena Vista, GA, Jack Strickland South Bend, IN; daughter, Starlet Strickland, Buena Vista, GA; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Kim Tu Thi Guy, 58, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, in Old Town.
A service was held on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 10:00 am EDT at Temple Baptist Church, with burial at Culley’s Meadow-Wood Memorial Park. The family received friends from 5 to 7 pm EDT on Monday, July 5, 2004 at Culley’s Meadow-Wood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177).
Kim Tu was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include here husband, Dr. William E. Guy of Tallahassee; a son, William L. Guy of Tallahassee; a daughter, Lan Garrand of Seattle; seven brothers; and four grandchildren.
Cynthia D. Hammer
Mrs. Cynthia D. Hammer, 47, of One West Broad Street, Shillington, PA died July 3, 2004 at 8:40 am in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading, PA where she was a patient since June 21st. She was the wife of Joseph A. Hammer. Born December 3, 1956, in Waynesboro, MS, she is a daughter of Christine (Sumrall) Snellgrove, of Cross City, FL and the late Andrew L. Snellgrove.
She was employed as a sales clerk for many years, last working for 1 year at Turkey Hill Mini Market, Shillington, last working March 2004.
She was a 1974 high school graduate from Dixie County High School, and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God, Cross City.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by 1 son, Andrew Thomas Williams of Cross City, 1 sister, Kay Weeks of Old Town, FL, and 1 brother, William Andrew Snellgrove of Cross City.
Services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Temple Assembly, with Rev. Jim Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at Cross City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004, between the hours of 5:00-7:00 pm.

Charlie Jackson Stewart, Jr.
Mr. Charlie Jackson Stewart, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004, at his residence in Old Town, FL. He was 65 years of age. Mr. Stewart moved to the Tri-County Area in 1989 from Eustis, Florida. He was a long distance truck driver.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Margie Stewart of Old Town, FL.; son, Keith Brooks, of Eustis, FL.; daughter, Paula Stewart of Alabama.
