Mrs. McDaris was born in Branford, Fl. and lived in Alachua, Fl. for the past two years. She was of the Methodist Faith.
She is survived by her Daughter & Son-In-Law, Patty & Jimmy Sanders of Alachua, Fl.; Son & Daughter-In-Law, Kenny & Terry Hines of Wiggins, Ms.; Sister, Mary Kate Hines of Brooker, Fl.; 5-Grandchildren, Scott & Brett Mobley of Calera, AI., David Morrisette of Wiggins, Ms., Jill Mobley of Cocoa, Fl., and Tina White of Liberty, Ms.; 5-Great Grandchildren, Adam Mobley, Kolby Morrisette, Cade White, Molly Mobley, and Shelby White.
Funeral Services were held, Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home-Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, Fl., with Rev. Tom Shields officiating. Burial followed in the Maypop Cemetery, Branford, Fl. under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home, Gainesville, Fl.
Robert William Piechocki, Sr.
Mr. Robert William Piechocki Sr. of Old Town passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2005 at his home. He was 64 years old. Mr. Piechocki moved here in 1986 from Attica, New York, and was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Piechocki was in dairy construction, for which he was very well known, until 1986 when he started the Oak Grove Dairy in Dixie County. He was an avid railroad and train collector for many years.
Mr. Piechocki is survived by his wife, Sharon Piechocki of Old Town, Florida; sons, Robert W. Piechocki Jr. of Attica, New York and Ronnie Piechocki of Old Town, Florida; daughter, Sherry Collins of Orchard Park, New York; brother, Leonard Piechocki of Trenton, Florida; sisters Jean Wright of Hallsville, Texas, Diane Ryan of Dairien Center, New York, and Suzie Piechocki of Anchorage, Alaska and 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother John Piechocki.
Funeral services for Mr. Piechocki were held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel in Cross City, Florida with Father Mike Pendergraft officiating. A visitation was held Friday, October 28, 2005 between the hours of 6 and 8 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Burial was held at the McCall Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida 32628, 352-498-5400.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Haven Hospice of the Tri-Counties at 311 9th Street, Chiefland, Florida 32626.
Wayne Albritton
Wayne Albritton, 58, of Old Town passed away Saturday, October 29 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by wife Jean of Old Town; 3 sons, Ronnie and wife Kathy of Old Town, Randy and wife Judy of Bradenton and Rodney of Mayaki; 3 daughters, Rhonda of Old Town, Cindy Borklund and husband Ricky of Old Town and April Farmer and husband Doug of Old Town; 11 grandchildren, Angelina, Crystal, Ronnie, Michelle, Youlunda, Lillie and Aleigha of Old Town, Vicky of Bartow, Jason, Laramie and Janie of Bradenton; 2 great grandchildren, Damian of Bartow, “Lil man” Joel of Old Town; 1 sister Patti Balbin of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; 1 brother, David of Punta Gorda and a host of family and friends.
Memorial services will be held November 6th at First Assembly of God in Cross City at 2:00 pm. Rev. Ricky Borklund and Chuck Gilbert officiating.
Rev. Billy Nelson Wolf, Sr.
Rev. Billy Nelson Wolf, Sr. of Cross City passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at his home. He was 88 years old. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee he moved to Cross City as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in 1941 then in 1942 he entered the Navy for 22 years before retiring as a Lt. Commander in the Chaplin Corp. He then became Pastor of Holiday Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. He was the Interim Pastor for the First Baptist Church of Ocala for one year. He became Director of Missions for the Lafayette Baptist Association serving for 10 years before retiring. He was a graduate from Stetson University and South Western Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was a member of Rock Sink Baptist Church.
He is survived by sons, Billy Wolfe, Jr. of Oklahoma, City, OK, Austin Wolfe of Memphis, TN, Robert Wolfe of Philadelphia, PA, and Homer Wolfe of Cross City; daughter, Elizabeth Nemchick of Jacksonville, FL; 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Ray Wolfe.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Rock Sink Baptist Church in Old Town with Rev. Austin Wolfe and Rev. Terry Cranford officiating. Burial followed at the Rock Sink Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation was held Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City.

Elvie Jane Newman
Mrs. Elvie Jane Newman of Eugene passed away Friday, February 17, 2006 at Shands at AGH. She was 87. Mrs. Newman was born October 6, 1918 to Thomas Jackson and Mary Adeline Albritton of Fishbone/Horseshoe Beach, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Dixie County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cross City. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and celebrated every opportunity to be together. She centered her life in Christ and was especially fond of her Sunday School class.
She is survived by her children, Earl (Lynee) Cooper, Mary Ann McCall, Marguerette (L.E.) Parker, and Tommy (Karen) Cooper all of Cross City, FL and Johnnie (Beverly) Cooper of Williston, FL; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John M. Cooper and Harry A. Newman and her oldest two grandchildren, William David Lamb and Debra Ann Cooper Bailey.
Funeral Services were held Monday, February 20, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Cross City with Rev. Mike Brown and Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating. Burial followed at Sumerville Cemetery at New Prospect Baptist Church. A visitation were held Sunday afternoon between the hours of 4 and 6 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, FL 352-498-5400.
Roxie Flora Judson
Mrs. Roxie Flora Judson of Old Town passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006 at her home. She was 69 years old. She moved here in 1996 from Tampa. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Judson of Old Town; sons, Leland Harrison of Norwick, LA, Donald Harrison of Old Town, Melvin Judson of Old Town, and Darrell Holley of Old Town; daughter, Teresa Hamlett of Old Town; brother Lacy Butler of Old Town; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Steven Harrison and Ronald Harrison.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Lee Cemetery in Cross City with Brother Chad Hamilton officiating.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City.
Mary Louise Fisher
Mrs. Mary Louise Fisher of Chiefland, Florida passed away February 14, 2006 at the age of 75. Born in Trenton, Florida, Mrs. Fisher was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist and Levy Counties and was a homemaker. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, family, cooking and flowers. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Leslie Fisher of Chiefland, FL; sons, Lee Powell of Bronson, FL, Edwin Powell of Trenton, FL, and Davey Fisher of Chiefland, FL; daughter, Shelia Powell of Hartsville, TN; brothers, Buck Sanchez of Gainesville, FL, and Herman Sanchez of Cross City, FL; sisters, Patsy Driggers of Cross City, FL, and Sherrie Rogers of Baytown, TX; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by son, Danny Powell; brother, Francis Sanchez, and sister, Flceta Tryon.
