Mrs. Sandra Sue Joyner of Cross City passed away Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Cross City Rehab. She was 57. Born in Little Washington, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Joyner moved to Cross City from Sarasota in 1972. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Praise Christian Church in Old Town.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley Joyner, Sr. of Cross City; son, Wesley Joyner, Jr. of Cross City; daughter, Joni Kelly of Old Town; brothers, Ray Naylor of Port Charlotte, FL, Randy Naylor of Myacka City, FL, Ricky Naylor of Venice, FL and Heguah Naylor of Tennessee; sister, Judy Young of North Vernon, Indiana; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home with Bro. Cecil Highsmith officiating. Burial followed at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation was held Monday evening, August 15, 2005, between the hours of 6 and 8 pm.

D.L. Levingston
D.L. Levingston
Mr. D. L. Levingston of Steinhatchee entered this life October 30, 1935 and entered eternal life August 15, 2005 after a brief illness. He was 69 years of age. Born in Salem, Florida, Mr. Levingston was a lifetime resident of the Steinhatchee area.
He retired from Buckeye Cellulose in 1991 where he held various positions for 37 years. Mr. Levingston was an avid outdoorsman spending a lot of time hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jena and the Sandhill hunting club.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Levingston; children, Penny (Wayne) Philmon of Steinhatchee, Duane (Robin) Levingston of Everglade City, FL, and Kellie (Chad) White of Trenton, FL; sisters, Hettie Carter of Salem and Myrtice Brown of Tallahassee; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Jena with Rev. Vaughn Farnell and Rev. Jimmy Corbin officiating. Burial will follow at Waters Memorial Cemetery, Steinhatchee, Florida. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 between the hours of 6 and 8 pm at the funeral home.

Rosa Lea Quiette
Mrs. Rosa Lea Quiette of Steinhatchee passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005 after a long illness. She was 75. Born in Tarpon Springs, Mrs. Quiette raised her family in Steinhatchee. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, the Steinhatchee Garden Club and the Steinhatchee Community Project Board.
She is survived by her sons, Johnny (Jude) McDaris of Jena and Donald (Susie) McDaris of Cross City; brother, Stan Goodson of Ocala; sisters, Lorena Downing of Steinhatchee, Gloria Bains of Suwannee, Dora Mathews of Ocala, and Shirley Davis of Springfield, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 1:00 pm at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Coward officiating.

Florence LaDonne Reames
Mrs. Florence LaDonne Reames of Cross City passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the Cross City Rehab after a long illness. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Reames was born in Jordan, Montana and moved to Cross City in 1983. She was a Christian homemaker and enjoyed listening to gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Reames, daughters, Donna Reames and Sandra Corbin, one brother and three sisters.
Survivors include sons, Harley Reames of Old Town and David Reames of Lake Wales; daughter, Karen Broom of Old Town; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, August 14, 2005 at 5:00 pm at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Cross City Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday evening, August 13, 2005, between the hours of 6 & 8 pm.

Helen Cobb Wise
Helen Cobb Wise, a native of Pinellas County Florida, passed away on August 11th after a long illness in Dowling Park, Florida. The daughter of C. Ernest & Mary Elliott Cobb of Seminole, Florida, she was born on the 4th day of February 1925 in Clearwater.
She graduated from St. Petersburg HS and Rollins College in Winter Park. She married John Joseph Wise, raised two children and was a schoolteacher in Pinellas County. She and her husband lived in Old Town from 1983 until earlier this year.
Helen Wise was always a very active member of the community in which she lived and her church. Locally she was involved in numerous causes and organizations including the Old Town Methodist Church, Dixie Shrine Club and Suwannee Shrine Club. She touched and enriched the lives of all that she met.
Helen is survived and will be missed by her husband John J. Wise of Dowling Park, son Raymond and his wife Joyce Wise of Old Town, daughter Beverly and her husband Charles Baldwin of Tarpon Springs, sister Frances C. Hart of Lake Junaluska, NC, and brother Alvin E. Cobb of Hendersonville, NC.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 19th at 11AM in the Seminole United Methodist Church Cemetery in Seminole, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.

Ms. Georgianna Kay Kennedy of Old Town passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 41 years old. She moved here on July 27, 2004 from Campbell, Texas and was a member of Suwannee River Baptist Church.
She is survived by her companion, Timothy Mead; parents, George and Wanda Gregg of Greenville, Texas; sons, David Gregg of Goldsboro, NC, Jeff Booze of Cheyenne, WY, Richard Booze of Greenville, TX, Christopher Booze of Old Town, FL, Sean Kennedy of Old Town, FL, Ryan Kennedy of Missouri; brothers, Steven Gregg of Omaha, NE, Michael Gregg of Overland Park, KS and Jonathan Gregg of Boise, ID; sister, Mellody Tate of Ft. Worth, TX and 1 grandchild.
Funeral services for Ms. Kennedy were held Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Lindsey officiating. Burial followed at the Old Town Cemetery in Old Town, FL. Visitation was held Friday, October 7, 2005 at the funeral home. Robert Lyle Strathearn
Robert Lyle “Scoop” Strathearn, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Strathearn were held on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wayne Boughan officiating. Interment took place at the Fort Custer Cemetery in Battle Creek. The family received friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Strathearn was born on November 25, 1936 in Dale, New York, the son of William and Eva (Merrifield) Strathearn. He served for the United States Marines. Robert worked for Isabella County Parks and Golf Courses in Florida. He married Linda Thuston on October 3, 2003 in Mt. Pleasant. Robert was a member of the Eagles Club in Mt. Pleasant. He enjoyed family, road trips and talking at the coffee shops.
Robert is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Mark (Margie) Strathearn of Portage, MI, Kelly (Ron) Whitby of Old Town, Florida and Carla (John) Cocke of Chiefland, Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-children Vicki of New York, Harold Brown, Geffory Brown of Wyoming, MI and Lorri of Florida and sister, Jeanette Henderson of New York, Jeffery (Sandra) Heaven of Blanchard, Terri Heaven of Mt. Pleasant.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one brother William and step-daughter, Julie Brown.
