HUDSON - Rachel Brinson Hudson, 77, died April 4, 2001. Funeral service will be held 1PM, Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Damascus M. B. Church in Madison, Florida. Burial will be in Crossroads cemetery in Madison. Family will receive friends 2PM to 6PM Friday, April 13, 2001 at Ganzy Funeral. Mrs. Hudson was a native of Madison, she moved to in 1942 with her husband, the late Isaac Hudson, Sr. Jacksonville for many years. She was a member of Paxon Revival Center, Jacksonville, and was a seamstress. Survivors include: 3 sons, Isaac (Alfreda) Hudson Jr., Temple Hill MD, Alfonso (Olivian) Hudson, San Antonio TX, Willie (Barbara) Hudson, Jacksonville FL; 2 daughters, Edna Mae Hudson and Leslie Rachel Bruce both of Jacksonville; Mrs. Hudson also raised 3 grandchildren, Edward Philpot, Derwin Philpot and Kantracy Shaw of Atlanta GA; brothers, Leonard (Willie Mae)Brinson, Orange Park, FL, A.C. HUGHES - A memorial service for Mr. Theo C. Hughes will be held Saturday, April 14, 2001 at 11:00 AM, in the Wendell P. Holmes, Sr. Memorial Chapel. Mr. Hughes, of 1163 W. 21st St., passed away April 10, 2001. Survivors include his brother, Willie E. Hughes (Dorothy); sister, Naomi H. HYDE - Thomas L. Hyde, Sr. passed away April 11, 2001, at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness. 'Tommy', as he was known to his many friends, was born June 29, 1916 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and moved to Neptune Beach with his lovely wife Judy and their family in 1967. Tommy died peacefully in his sleep and is survived by two sons, Bolivar and Tim Hyde, a daughter, Betsy Fogg, son-in-law Bill Fogg, two daughters-in-law, Laura Hyde and Susan Hyde and 5 grandchildren. His Memorial service will be held at Community Presbyterian Church in Atlantic Beach at 10:00 AM Saturday 4142001, with Rev. Gabe Goodman officiating. A Graveside service will be held at Evergreen cemetery in Gainesville, FL at 2:00 PM on the same day, with Dr. Robert W. Battles officiating. MILLER - Trula G. Miller, 87, of Jacksonville died April 10th. A native of Bristol, Tenn. she had resided here for many years, and was a homemaker. She is survived by 2 nieces, Hester Crawford of Abbeville, SC, Roxie Williams of Bluff City, Tenn.; 1 nephew, Sanford Lyon of Bluff City, Tenn. and a friend, Thomas A. Rivera of Jacksonville. MORRIS - Homer Thomas Morris, 89, passed away on April 12, 2001. Mr. Morris was born in Estill, South Carolina and was a former resident of Savannah, GA for many years. He was a member of Edgewood Avenue Christian Church. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and retired from CSX after more than 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna (Polly) Morris of Jacksonville; son, Charles E. Morris; daughters, Joan L. and Theresa K. Morris. Funeral services will be 1 P.M. on Saturday, April 14, in the chapel of HARDAGE GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 729 S. EDGEWOOD AVE with Rev. Mitch Skelton officiating. McCLAIN - Mr. Johnnie McClain Jr. a resident of Rapid City, SD died April 8, 2001. He was a member of Faith Temple Church Bishop Kelly pastor. He was preceded in death by his mother, Luethel Green; 2 brothers, Michael and Gregory McClain; grandmother, Carrie McClain. Survivors include: wife, Judy McClain of Rapid City, SD; mother of children, Wanda McClain; one daughter, Tawanda McClain Martin(Larry); two sons, Robert Ray(Tammy) and Johnnie McClain III; two stepsons, Todd and Troy Sharkey of Rapid City, SD; five grandchildren, Johnnie McClain IV, Johnathan McClain, Jawun McClain, Joshua and Daris Martin; father, Johnnie McClain Sr.(Geneva); five brothers, Edward, Matthew, Johnathan McClain, Anthony Foster, and Freddie Adkins; eleven sisters, Deneen, Ramona, Johnnetta, Jeanette McClain, Minnie Crawford, Deborah Grant, Marian Merritt, Melody Wright, Toma Foster, Katrina McGriff and Shelia Ephron(Michael); grandmother, Catherine Kendricks; one uncle, Alex McClain; other relatives and many friends. McDOWELL - Phillip R. McDowell, 59, passed away in Orange Park, Fla. on Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Mr. McDowell was a 30 year resident of the Jacksonville area, a US Navy veteran and a member of the Clay and Duval Gator Club. He was employed by Florida Wire and Cable in Jacksonville for 5 years and retired from Anheuser Bush after 23 years service as a production supervisor. Predeceased by his father and mother Roscoe and Susie McDowell and his brother Gordon, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanette McDowell, sons, Richard McDowell ( Sharon), Scott and Mark Hunt, his special grandchildren, Amanda and Sean Hunt and Tyler McDowell, other grandchildren, Patrick McDowell, Ashley and Kourtney Geiger. He is also survived by daughter, Susan Cagle and her children, Lauren and Olivia. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2001, 10:00 AM in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Fla., with Rev. He is survived by his father, Donald Nelson; brother, Donald E. Nelson; and sister Patricia E. Nelson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nelson.
