Mary Legh Hatch

Mary Penelope Legh Hatch, known to most friends and family as Peggy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2014. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Peggy was the oldest of Margaret and Claude Legh’s four beautiful daughters. She was born on July 8, 1925, graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School and married
the love of her life, Robert E. Hatch, Jr. in 1945. Together, they raised 4 children.
Peggy was a very active member of Assumption Catholic Church and a frequent volunteer at Assumption School. She was head of the Room Mothers’ Association and President of the Assumption Guild in the 1970s. She used her musical talents, honed as a child, by playing the organ at Assumption’s 8 a.m. Sunday Mass for many years. Peggy was also an avid lover of the arts and history. During the 1970s, she served as the President of the Board of the Jacksonville Ballet Guild. From the 1980s until she could no longer attend, she belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Jamestown Society, serving as an officer in those organizations.
Peggy’s greatest earthly treasure was her family. She adored her husband and took great pride in the accomplishments of her beloved children and grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Margaret Legh; her husband of 59 years, Robert; her sister, Melody Pierce; sister-in-laws Doris Long and Kitty Hatch; and brother-in-laws Leon Hatch, Rudolph Hatch, Palmer Daughtry, Gordon Maynard, and Larry Pierce. She is survived by two sisters, Rosemarie (Danny) Groover and Madonna (Ralph) Harris; two sister-in-laws, Shirley Hatch and Betty Jean Daughtry; two sons, Bob Hatch and Greg (Peggy) Hatch; two daughters, Nicole Hatch and Penny (Randy Egsegian) Hatch; four grandchildren, Sarah, Steven, Kate and Alex Hatch; 17 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews. A kind, generous, and elegant lady, Peggy was and continues to be deeply loved, admired and appreciated by her family and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM (Vigil Service at 7:00 PM) at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 3:15 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. After the Mass, family and friends are invited to attend a gathering in Kohls Hall at Assumption Parish.
The Graveside Committal will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 8th at Greenlawn cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.

Carol Marquardt Cairns
Born on May 10, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT to Roy and Theresa Marquardt, she moved here in 2002 from Hilton Head, SC. She was an avid traveler, loving wife and mother.
Family members include her husband of 4 years, Lawrence Sadick; son, James Joseph Cairns, III of Atlanta; daughters, Linda (Paul) Swartz of North Andover, MA, Gillian (Jeffery) Ball of Athens, GA; brother, Richard (Sally) Marquardt of Waverly, PA; grandchildren, Grant, Dana, Alexandra Swartz of North Andover, MA and Carter, Thomas, Campbell Ball of Athens, GA. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Joseph Carines, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 18 at the Sawgrass Country Club Beach Pavilion in Ponte Vedra Beach with the Rev. Bob Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257.

Muriel F. Emerson
Died: Wednesday, July 20, 2005
Age: 86
Born June 1, 1919 in Baltimore, Md., she moved to Florida in 1992 from Georgetown, S.C. She was a member of St. Pauls by the Sea Episcopal Church of Jacksonville Beach.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, James E. Emerson.

Betty W. Burke
Died: Tuesday, July 19, 2005
Age: 77
She will be remembered for her exceptional wit, adventuresome spirit and her absolute and unequivocal love for her family, according to the family.
She was the mother of Andy, Floyd and Eddie Burke and is also survived by daughters-in-law Julie and Erica Burke, and grandson, Austin.
Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Jacksonville and Hospice of Central Florida, Gainesville.

Born in Warrensville, NC on Sep. 5, 1934
Departed on Jul. 11, 2007 and resided in Jacksonville, FL.
GOSS - George Wayne Goss, 72, born in Ashe County NC, passed away Wednesday, July 11th in Orange Park, FL. He served in the US Navy and retired as an Air Traffic Controller and from the IRS. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; 8 children, Mike, Rex, Sandy, Ron, Bill, Jana, Lisa, and Patty; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Gene, Dean, Jim, and Steve; 1 sister, Carol. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 13th at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.
Irene Majette Shore
Died: Sunday, July 17, 2005
She was born in Newport News, Va., to the late Samuel McDougall Majette and the late Lillian Foster Majette. She moved to Opelika, Ala., with her late husband, E.E. "Buck" Shore, and in 1989 moved to Jacksonville Beach to live with her late son, C.C. "Nick" Shore and family for 14 years, where she could be seen eating her chocolates, doing her search-a-word and watching her favorite game shows.
She was a school teacher and a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the DAR, as well as an advertising clerk for the Opelika Daily News.
She is survived by her daughter Penny Brandt (Mike) of Douglasville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Sheila Holland (Ray) of Jacksonville; grandsons, William Brandt (Maria) of Kettering, Ohio, David Winston Shore of Jacksonville Beach, and Stephen Shore (Kim) of Jacksonville; granddaughters, Jennifer S. McLeod of Orange Park, Heather Bogstie (Steve), Rockledge, Fla.; three great grandsons and two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews in North Carolina and Virginia.
The Cremation Society of the South will handle arrangements. There will be a memorial service on the beach in Jacksonville for family and friends to honor Maa Moo's life before burial in Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall, N.C., beside her husband.

Ms. Louise Raulerson
March 8, 1926 - January 7, 2013
Jacksonville, Florida - Louise Raulerson, 86, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and caring friend to all who knew her. Louise was born on March 8, 1926 in Bradford County, FL to the late Leonard and Ruby Whittle. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leslie Raulerson, sons Leonard Dale and Richard Leslie. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Price. Louise retired from Atlanta Journal and Constitution after 35 years and loved traveling. She was also a member of the Atlanta Skylarks and loved her church and was active in women's ministries at Regency Church. Family will receive friends at Regency Church, 1677 Southside Boulevard, for a visitation on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 11:00am to 12:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. The service will be officiated by Reverend John Morgan. Interment will be done at a later date in Stockbridge GA. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in memory of Louise to Regency Church.
Nicole Marie Schreur
Died: Sunday, July 17, 2005
Age: 21
She was a very special and unique person, who touched and held everyone's heart that she met, her family said, adding she loved holding and caring for other people's babies and hoped to study child care.
She is survived by her mother, Mary; stepfather, Dan; father, Mark; grandparents, Barbara White, Jim and Jackie; her sister and best friend, Brittany; brothers, Russell and Kaleb; Uncle Nathan; Uncle Mike, all of Jacksonville; Aunt Lois of Ponte Vedra Beach; and many others, both family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. July 30 at Arlington Baptist Church, 6009 Arlington Road, with Reverend Joe Newton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 8382 Baymeadows Road #9, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1949 in Pittsburg, PA and moved to Jacksonville from Miami in 1980.
Family members include her husband of 37 years, Wallace Wilson; brothers, David (Jackie) Bretch of Jacksonville, Wayne (Shirley) Bretch of Frostproof; sisters, Banie (Bill) Hutto of Frostproof, Patty (Irv) Hutto of Frostproof, Janet Mauldin of Okeechobee and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Edith; brothers, Bill, Bud and Jackie Bretch.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Julie Marie Plaster
Died: Thursday, July 07, 2005
She was born on Oct. 10, 1960 in Hannibal, Missouri and had lived the last 24 years in the Jacksonville Beaches area.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Buck Plaster and Sallie Pickard of Neptune Beach, her mother and stepfather, Jane and Dick Martin of Carbon Cliff, Illinois, her grandmother, Merle Plaster of Ashland, Missouri, her brothers, Daniel Plaster (wife, Holly) of Eugene, Oregon and Kevin Plaster of Moline, Illinois, her niece, Jennifer Dvorak and Nephew, Aubrey Plaster.
She was a fiercely independent young woman who worked hard at her job, who loved music, crafts and her cat Xena, according to her family and she was very creative and enjoyed writing poetry.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Jacksonville, 7405 Arlington Expressway. Memorials my be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeast Florida, 5209 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 or to the charity of your choice.

Richard "Tony" A. Church
Died: Sunday, July 03, 2005
He ran Church's Garage from 1969 to 2000 and was an expert in British sports cars and Volvo repair. His interests were varied and eclectic, his family said. He loved all wildlife, plants and animals, as well as, jazz, motorcycles, history and current events. Over his 24 years of marriage, he and his former wife, Dimples (Marie Battell) had numerous cats, several dogs, chickens, and 2 horses, as well as, approximately 200 cars in the yard.
He was very active in the Palm Valley Fire Volunteer Department for many years and was nominated for Firefighter of the Year in St. Johns County for his contributions in keeping everything running.
Making numerous excursions throughout the state of Florida, he roamed all the back roads in search of new adventures and interesting people and enjoyed several trips to Cedar Key and Savannah. Listening to music, especially all of the jazz greats, was at the top of his list along with NPR radio. An avid reader, he was well versed on many topics. He developed a recent interest in photography and he also got back to gliding in sailplanes.
