LAWSON - Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Lawson, age 80 of Jacksonville, FL who passed away November 29, 1998 will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday December 2, 1998 from the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Mrs. Lawson was Baptist by faith and had attended Normandy Baptist Temple. She was very well loved by many friends and neighbors who knew her as Miss Mary. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years Lawrence E. Lawson; daughter Lois Childers and son Carl E. Lawson. Survivors include two daughters Sara Riley and Reba P. Blanton and her husband Wallace; sixteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; Sister Carrie Sheets; two brothers Bill and Kirb McGuire. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening (TONIGHT) from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

MELVIN - Alton E. Melvin, 68, died Sunday, November 29, 1998. Born October 5, 1930, he was a native of Mandarin. Mr. Melvin was a printer for 40 years, and a member of the Mandarin United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the Flatwoods Hunting Club. His family includes his wife Frances Imogene Melvin; son Raymond Melvin, Sr. (Debbie); three daughters Brenda Robinson (Mike), Cindy Bennett, and Patty Barrett (Mike); sister Eleanor Melvin; granddaughter Sara Robinson; five grandsons: Alan and Randy Melvin, Nicholas and Trey Robinson, and Austin Barrett; aunt Dorothy Nix; four nephews and five nieces. Services will be held 10AM Wednesday in the chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS MANDARIN FUNERAL HOME, 11801 San Jose Blvd. with The Rev. Patrice Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Mandarin cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association, 4492 Southside Blvd., Suite 101 Jacksonville, FL. 32216

SANDERS - Mrs. Lynn Sanders age 50, died Sunday, November 29, 1998 in Methodist Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. She is a native of Otter Creek, FL, she made Macclenny her home in 1981 after living in Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and a member of Raiford Road Church. She is the daughter of the late Oze Harden. Survivors include her husband Johnny Sanders of Macclenny, mother Eunice Stuckey of Jacksonville, Step-son; Steven Sanders of Lawety, Step daughters; Theresa Yawn of Callahan, Rhonda Bagby, Angela Creamer and Tammy Dumm all of Jacksonville, Brother Donnie Stuckey; sister Frieda Brown both of Jacksonville, FL, Wretha Savage of Rosewood, Seven Step-grandchildren and Two Step Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. in Raiford Road Church with Rev. David Hodges officiating. The interment will follow in Oak Grove cemetery, Baker County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday (TODAY) in GUERRY FUNERAL HOME, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny.

SESSIONS - Kelly Marie Sessions Nee' Stines, in an untimely departure on November 27, has now joined her heavenly Fathers. Born on October 31, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio, Kelly spent the last 27 years in Jacksonville, FL. Married to Kevin, she is survived by her son, Matthew Jonathon, her mother, Midge Stines, brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Wendy Stines, devoted in-laws, Carson and John Sessions, and many loving family members. With the loss of her big heart, even bigger smile, warm personality, and quick wit, Kelly will leave a huge void in the lives of all those who knew her and loved her. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, December 2, at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. Interment will be at 1 PM Wednesday at Oaklawn cemetery in Jacksonville. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the chapel of Craig Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 7 PM. While Kelly would certainly never say no to a good piece of jewelry - for she was the most precious jewel of all - the family welcomes flowers. CRAIG FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

SMITH - Addie Lou Smith, 70, went to be with our Lord Sunday, November 29th. Survived by husband Tommy H. Smith, Sr.; daughter, Linda Crosby; son Robert Lettow; four step-sons, three sisters, Virginia Preslar, Lila Sexton, & Emily Mullis; two brothers, Keith Snyder & David F. Snyder; fourteen grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at ARLINGTON PARK FUNERAL HOME, 6920 Lone Star Road. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of ARLINGTON PARK FUNERAL HOME. Interment will follow in ARLINGTON PARK cemetery. 724-6384

TAYLOR - Harold B. Taylor CLU, ChFC, died on November 28, 1998 at the age of 68. Born in Albany, GA he resided in Jacksonville and worked as an insurance agent. He was an Elder in the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a member of the Mandarin Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was a loving husband and dedicated father. He is survived by his wife of 24 years; L. Jane Taylor, Two Sons; H. Terrance Taylor and Robert L. Taylor (Sue), Five Daughters: Cheryl T. Baker (Ronald), Judi T. Rogers (Mark), Madora Morgan, Tammy Anzalone, Jamy Taylor. One sister; Eloise Evans, (Bob). 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of Aunts, Nieces & Nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 1998 at 4:00 PM in the Mandarin Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 10911 Old St. Augustine Rd, with the Pastor Lynell LaMountain Officiating. THIRSK - Stanley Potter Thirsk, 46, of the 100 block of South 16th Street, died Thursday, November 26, 1998 in Hampton Veterans Hospital, Hampton, VA. Mr. Thirsk was a native of Fernandina Beach, FL., and was a commercial fisherman. He was a member of North 14th Street Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach and a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army being stationed in Germany. Mr. Thirsk was the son of John R. Thirsk, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ruth Gray Thirsk of Fernandina Beach, FL. Besides his parents, Mr. Thirsk is survived by 3 sisters: Deborah Swaringen of Jacksonville, FL., Joyce Bryant of Houston, TX and Olive Mae Cook of Yulee, FL; 2 brothers: Michael E. Dixon of Newport News, VA and John R. Thirsk, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, FL. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 2, 1998 at 2:00 PM by the Reverend Bob Barthel in North 14th Street Baptist Church. The family suggest that memorials may be made to the North 14th Street Baptist Church Building Fund. The Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.

TREESE - Funeral services for Johnnie Turner Treese will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM December 2, 1998 at Ridgewood Baptist Church, 939 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL with Rev. Norman Gardner, officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Mrs. Treese is survived by two daughters Debbie Karlish and her husband Doug, and Ann Thomas and her husband John; mother Annie Turner; two brothers Bob Turner and his wife Vivian, and Mac Turner; five grandchildren Jonathan Thomas, Bobby Thomas, Nikki Karlish, Sammy Thomas, and Samantha Karlish. WASHINGTON - Mrs. Mae Etta Ford Washington, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 1998. She was born in Savannah, Georgia. She later moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1951. Mrs. Washington served in the U.S. Army, WWII and retired as a Nurses Aide. She was a member of the Northwest Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, 7021 New Kings Rd. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Terlela Dabney-Wilson (Walter) and Ms. Antonia Washington: 5 Grand children, Charlotte R. Carpenter (William), Andre' Robinson (Felisha), William Dabney, Jr., Alexis Dabney and Russell Robinson (Tina); 16 Great grand children; A number of In-Laws; A host of cousins other relatives and many sorrowing friends, amongst them Ms. Ossie Jackson and Family. WIND - Marcus Wind age 82 of Jacksonville, FL passed away November 28, 1998. He is survived by his loving wife Marceline, two daughters Robin Wind Faillace and Winifred Keeble and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Tuesday at Wellwood cemetery, Pinelawn, New York.

BAKER - Funeral service for Kevin E. Baker, Jr. 33, who passed away December 2, 1998 will be held 12 Noon Monday, December 7, 1998 in Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, 2360 Kings Road, Rev. Tom E. Diamond Pastor, Rev. William Barker officiating. Mr. Baker is survived by his son Jarvis Baker, Father Major Lee Baker, Sr., sister Cynthia R. Gibbs, brothers Gregory Gibbs, Arthur Gibbs, Major L. Baker, Jr., and Reginald Baker, Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and many friends. His remains will rest in the Mortuary for visitation of friends Sunday (TODAY) from 5PM to 8PM. Monday in the church from 10AM until the hour of service. Interment Edgewood cemetery. FELDER - Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Felder will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at 11:00 AM, in the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she held membership. Mrs. Felder died Dec. 3, 1998. Survivors include her son-in-law, Rev. Isaac Roberts; 5 grands; 14 greatgrands; 6 great-great-grands; 2 brothers; 2 sisters, of Lakeworth, FL; a number of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the mortuary for visitation from 5 until 8 PM Monday and at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of services Tuesday. The cortege will assemble at 5619 Bree Rd., at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Edgewood cemetery under the direction of WENDELL HOLMES FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 2719 W. Edgewood Ave.. Wendell Holmes and Sidney Green, Directors.

HADDOCK - Blanche S. 'Nanny' Haddock, born Dec. 30, 1909; passed into her eternal life with her Lord on Dec. 1, 1998 in Waco, TX. She was predeceased by her husband David Miller Haddock and is survived by her daughter and sonin-law, Barbara & Tom Patrick, Waco, TX: Grandchildren; Gail Steely, Mesquite, TX and Laurin Magill, Austin, TX; Great Grandchildren; Ashley & Patrick Steely and Krista & Kourtney Magill; brother, Ernest Smith of Jesup, GA & step-son James Haddock. Blanche retired from Southern Bell after 38 years of service, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Woodway, TX. She made cross bookmarks used by churches and missionaries around the world. While living in Jacksonville she was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to North Jacksonville Baptist Church or to Hospice. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, Dec. 7, in the chapel of COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave. with Rev. Pat Vaughn officiating. Burial in Restlawn Memorial Park.

HEINY - Tracie Briggs Heiny, age 24, passed away December 3, 1998 in Houston, TX following a long illness. She was a native of Jacksonville where she graduated from Ed White High School and was named Miss Ed White in 1992. She is survived by her husband, Jeremy; mother & father, Dianne Cowart & Jack E. Briggs; brother, Richard Alan Briggs; paternal grandparents, Lois & James Briggs; maternal grandparents, Evelyn & Richard Thompson and her uncle Darrell Thompson. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday at First Coast Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Dougherty officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday (TODAY) in the sanctuary of First Coast Baptist Church, 7585 Blanding Blvd. Donations may be made to the church in lieu of flowers. Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd. is in charge of arrangements.
