Lenora H. Brown
Lenora H. Brown, 88, passed away October 7, 2011. She was a lifetime resident of Mayport. She retired from USPS as a Postmaster.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Joseph C. Brown; son, Joseph C. Brown, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at St. John's Catholic Church in Mayport. Interment will follow in Mayport cemetery.
Arrangements are by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach.
Charles Lee Reynolds Sr.
Age 83, went home to be with the lord on April 25, 2011, Mr. Reynolds was born to Clifford Lee Reynolds and Clara lee Reynolds on January 15, 1928 in Kayville, Florida. Charles decided to move to Jacksonville Beach, Florida in 1958 a few days prior to his 30th birthday. Mr. Reynolds worked for Long & Shultz Company for most of his life, He was a member of First Baptist Church at Jacksonville Beach, FL. In 1971 Charles attended a revival meeting at the Church of God by faith under the leadership of Elder Charlie Thomas. Charles became a member and there is where he met his soon to be wife Lottie Reynolds of a wonderful marriage of 40 years. He is not only survived by the love of his wife but that of his children as well Charles Lee Reynolds JR. and Clara Reynolds-Brown.
Services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011, 11:00 am at Good Samaritan Life Changing Ministries, 615 6th Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Interment will follow the services at Beaches Memorial Park cemetery in the Garden of Time, 1500 Main Street, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 (904)249-1166. Benjamin John Connor
Age 77, passed away April 24, 2011. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, December 18, 1933, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1971. Mr. Connor was a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean war and served his country proudly in the United States Army. Benjamin is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Idell Connor; two Sons, William Holcomb (Sandra), Jesse Holcomb; one Daughter, Anne Connor-Russell; five Grandchildren; Vinny, MaryAnne, Bradley, Ben, Greg Jr.; two Great-Grandchildren; Tiffany, Ricky; one Sister-n-Law, Nancy Connor. He was predeceased by his Brother Daniel John Connor. Ute Wolfgang
Age 76, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 16, 2011, surrounded by her family and loving husband of 52 years. Mrs. Wolfgang was born in Baden Baden, Germany to the late Kurt J. and Martha Flamme, on August 25, 1934. She met Barry while he was stationed in Germany on a train ride, that they both will never forget; and it was fate that brought her to America in 1956; 60 miles away from the love of her life, Barry G. Wolfgang. They soon married
and began there wonderful journey of life together. Ute was above and beyond everything a woman could be to her husband and family, she was one of the most caring loving individual's that one person would have the opportunity to know and above all she was a devoted and proud military wife and mother. Ute said more than once that "We got IT right this time", "IT" meaning the love they shared and glorious and wonderful marriage Barry and Ute were able to lead together as fate had once again brought them together. Ute will be missed greatly but her memory will stand strong in the hearts of her husband and family.
Mrs. Wolfgang is survived by her loving husband, Barry Wolfgang; her son, Michael Wolfgang (Angela); two daughters, Heide Wolfgang and Katie Boyd (Joel); four grandchildren, Alexandra P. Taylor, Nikolas W. Taylor, Sarina Wolfgang and Christopher Wolfgang.

Philip Henry Lepanto
Memorial services for Philip Henry Lepanto, 67, will be held at 12:30pm Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Pastor Brian Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn cemetery. Born April 4, 1944 in Wadesboro, North Carolina, Mr. Lepanto died March 9, 2012 in St. Augustine, Florida. He was a retired fireman from the City of Jacksonville Fire Department. He served in the United States Army Reserve, was a member of South Putnam Baptist Church, was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Morocco Temple of the Shrine. Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Gayle “Mandy” Lepanto of Jacksonville; his son, Philip Christopher Lepanto of Pomona Park, FL; a sister, Mrs. Frances Defillipo of Mayport, FL; a brother, Philip Charles Lepanto of Keystone Heights, FL and three granddaughters, Channing Finch, Chelsea Lepanto, and Savannah Lepanto.

30, A native of Atlantic Beach, FL went peacefully on April 1, 2012, she is survived by her husband Joshua and 3 lovely children. Services will be held at Beaches Memorial Park "Chapel of Peace" on April 10, 2012 at 3pm.
Sean Mitchell Jordan
25, of Atlantic Beach, FL. passed away on January 30, 2012 at his home. Sean was born on September 30, 1986 at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. Mr. Jordan moved from Charleston, SC to Atlantic Beach in 1989 and was raised in the Atlantic Beach area for over 20 years. He graduated from the Marine Science School, and had previously worked at Atlantic Seafood for the past 3 years; rising to a management position in a very short period of time. Mr. Jordan’s passion was fishing which he loved and did very well. His kindness and passions were shared with all, and he will be deeply missed by his loving family and a host of friends.
Mr. Jordan was predeceased by his mother, Paz S. Maceda. He leaves behind his father, Mr. Maurice Jordan Jr. and two brothers; Brian and Bradley Jordan, as well as a host of family and friends.

Arthur Lee Davis Jr. “Jackman”
was born on December 22, 1971 to the late Arthur Lee Davis Sr & Helen Jewel Davis in Jacksonville, FL. Arthur was called home on January 3, 2015. Mr. Davis was educated in Duval County Schools. He was a loving father, fiancé, brother, son and friend to many. Arhtur WAS preceded in death by his mother and father: Arthur Sr. & Helen Davis, 2 Grandfathers: Hosie McMullion and Willie B. Davis, 2 Grandmothers: Eva McMullion and Minnie Will Davis. Mr. Davis leaves behind to cherish his memories: Finace; Freda Edmonds, 5 Children: Keaiera Capell, Tamisha Brown, Tiana Davis, Arthur Lee Davis III & Saderia Davis 1 Grandson: Javon Idlebird, 2 Sisters: Jacqueline McMullion & LoEva (Kenneth) Davis-Johnson ; 1 Brother: Decosray Davis. 1 very special Aunt: Marsha Randolph-McMullion, 6 additional Aunts, 8 Uncles, 6 Best Friends to include: Wilbur James, Lawrence Harris, Jimmy Covin, Norman Burns, Donnell Wright & Robert Colquitt. In addition to his closest of family members he is survived by he also has a host of other family members to cherish Mr. Davis to include a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many friends. Arthur or “Jackman” as he was called by his closest family and friends will be greatly missed by all who had the honor and privilege to know him.

Eula Mae Lanier
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Eula Mae Lanier, age 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 26, 2012 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Leroy Starling officiating.
Eula Mae was born in Appling County, Georgia on July 14, 1924 to William Reppard Sapp and Zettie Mae Davis Sapp. She relocated to Jacksonville in 1942 where she met and married
Robert Edward “Ed” Lanier. She enjoyed her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Eula Mae passed away on March 22, 2012 in Jacksonville.
She is survived by her son, Michael Robert Lanier (Melanie Carriere); 2 grandchildren, Diana Michelle Brandenburg (Scott) & Michael Edward Lanier; siblings, Otis Sapp, Eva Martin (Lee), Russell Sapp, Bertha Todd, Laverne Harris & Trudy Arbuckle (David) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Katherine “Kitty” BeeBe Whittington
79, passed away peacefully with her children closely at her side. “Kitty” was born October 3, 1935 to Jeffie & Mary Beebe in Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Whittington spent her childhood in West Monroe, LA where she was a member of Southside Methodist Church. She was a loving, caring and compassionate wife and mother. She was a mentor, a friend and a mother who absolutely adored her children in every way. They will most remember Mom by her love, support and strength she gave them throughout the years. Kitty worked at Monroe Optical before coming to Jacksonville in 1986, to Optiworld. Family was her true passion though, and if you weren’t related that didn’t matter, she would accept you and love you as one her own. Some of Kitty’s most desired passions where of course her children which she was always so proud of and concerned for as a true Mother does. She took pleasure in others joy. She loved working in the yard, dancing and singing. She was never at a loss for words to a song as she would make them up as she went along. She loved the beauty and ambiance of the hummingbird and found peace looking out over her backyard at the wonders of God’s work. Kitty is preceded in death by her late husband: “Papa” Ed Whittington, Daughter: Patricia Whittington; Son: Robert Whittington. She is survived by her first husband, Aldon Whittington and children - Sons; Mark (Sharon), Michael, Bradley and Bill Whittington. Daughters: Kathy Hamilton, Cindy Meyer and Linda (Mitch) Farrell. Sisters: Jean (Jack) Sturgis, Joyce (Ron) May and as Mom would say “A Slew” of Grandchildren, Great- Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memory forever. Mom will be greatly missed and never forgotten for her many ways of showing how much she loved and cared for her family as well as others was a true testament to God’s work.

Memorial services for Brenda D. McFadden, 58, who died October 30, 2011, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Mrs. McFadden was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a homemaker and a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Faye Davis; brothers, Johnny Hamilton and Lynwood Davis; Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann Short (Sam); 1 sister, Geneva “Gennie” McCook (James), and Terry Alverson; 2 grandchildren, Brittney Nichole Short, and Dylan James Short.
Antonio "Tony" V. Romero Jr.(Retired Chief USN)
77, went home to the Lord on December 28, 2014 with his wife by his side. Antonio was born June 14, 1937 to Antonio & Trinidad Romero in Negros Occidental, Philippines where he was raised and completed his education. Tony attended San Sebastian College in Manila, Philippines where he received his Associates degree and also played basketball on the Varsity College Team. Tony decided to join the Navy in 1959 where he quickly excelled with his dedication to duty and the ability to go above and beyond. He retired after 26 years of Service to the United States Navy as a model Chief. In 1962 Tony met his soon to be wife and life partner while she was a Nurse at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. The following year they joined hands before God in Holy Matrimony. After 51 years of marriage Mr. & Mrs Romero’s same passions included traveling and in that time they visited and vacationed in over 25 countries, not only had they seen some of the most wonderful places in the world. The family moved to Atlantic Beach in 1972 where they have resided for the past 40 years. Tony was a part of many organizations including the Filipino American Club, in which he was a past president and the Filipino Golf Association. He was also a perpetual member of the Albert Russell Masonic Lodge and the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. As a member of his church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tony was a hospitality minister and reader for over 40 years, Tony was very passionate about many activities which include golfing, photography, fishing, bowling and traveling with his wife. Mr. Romero is survived by his wife, Nenita Romero; Son: Anthony Romero; Brother: Dante Romero; Sisters: Haide Quiratman and Marcella (Jo Jo) Rones. Tony will be missed by all of his loved ones, friends and colleagues.

Mary Carlyn Burke
71, was born Jan 28, 1943 to James & Josie Smith in Nashville, Tennessee. Mary was called to her true home to celebrate eternal life on December 28, 2014. Carlyn spent her life on earth caring for others and will always be remembered as a dedicated and supportive wife, a loving mother, a caring sister, aunt and close friend. Mrs. Burke extended grace to anyone she knew. Her quiet strength, dignity and kindness were among her many self-sacrificial qualities. Mrs. Burke possessed genuine concern and well-being for all.
Carlyn was preceded in death by her Husband, Gerard J. Burke, parents, James C. Smith and Josie F. Smith. She is survived by: Sisters, Joanne Wessell and Betty (Larry) Currie; her brother-in-law, Frank Burke; Children, Sheri Tibbetts, Jerry (Amy) Burke, Brian Burke, and Pam Kuruce; Grandchildren, Holli, Chris, Paul, Sean, Maddie, Marley, Riley, Marissa, Ella, James and Lindsey; A Great Granddaughter, Amelia; Nieces, Robin, Lisa and Nadia; Nephews, Jimmy, Jim, Ken and Carl.

Mr. Rex A. Hill

Jacksonville, Florida - Rex A. Hill, age 78 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 20, 2013. He was born on March 11, 1934 in Blytheville, Arkansas to John and Rosie Hill. Rex was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1971. He also retired from the Jacksonville Electric Authority after 20 years. Rex was a member of Ft. Caroline Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grand Father and friend.
Rex is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nelda Hill; daughter, Karen Hill; son, Kevin Hill (Debbie); Grandchildren Gary Padgett (Ana Maria); Kurt Padgett; Jaime Heaverin (Chris); Wayne Padgett; Ryan Hill and Aimee Rubesha (Nick); great grandchildren, Abigail, Tomas, Miranda and Cate. Sisters, Cathy Goss (Jay), Shirley Sanders (John), Brenda Gulledge (William); and Brothers Gene and Larry Hill.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24th from 12-1:00pm at Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Road, Jacksonville, FL with his funeral to commence at 1:00pm with Pastor Richard Powell officiating.
