Born in Houston, Texas, on Sept. 19, 1954, to Cecil and Mary (Randell) Davis, he came here 40 years ago from there. He was owner/operator of the Inglis Marine Boat Repair company. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 324 F&AM, Inglis. He was Baptist. Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years, June (Fortune) Davis of Crystal River; one son, Bubba Davis of Crystal River; two brothers, George Davis of Inglis and Jeff Davis of Crystal River; and three sisters, Becky, Cindy and Jennifer, all of Crystal River. James R. Welsh, 65, of Homosassa died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000. He was born in Baltimore, Md., and came to Homosassa six years ago from there. He retired from Health Care Finance Administration for the U.S. Government as a computer specialist after 24 years of service. He was a volunteer at Daystar Life Center in Hernando County; member of the Knights of Columbus Green Council, Baltimore, Md.; and St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Crystal River. Delma "Andy" M. Anderson, 83, of Inverness died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000. He was born in Bushnell and came to Inverness 21 years ago from Jacksonville. He retired from Seaboard Railroad as a motor electrician; he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Inverness, where he served as an usher. He was a 50-year member of Ionic Lodge 101, Jacksonville. He was an Army veteran who served during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn E. Anderson of Inverness; one son, Delma M. Anderson Jr., of Orlando; two daughters, Dellyn A. McConnon of Ft. Lauderdale and Andrea A. Mildred Louise Chase, 79, of Inverness died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born in Waltham, Mass., on Sept. 19, 1921, to Carl Albert and Ida L. (Helgeson) Lindstrom, she came here in 1998 from Plattsburg, N.Y. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Home Demonstration Extension Services and a volunteer with the CVPH Medical Center, all of Plattsburgh, N.Y. She was Protestant. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Warren L. Chase; two sons, Warren L. ‘‘Bud’’ (Helen Z.) Chase Jr. of Granville, Ohio, and William A. (Rhea B.) Mary Johnson, 79, of Ocala died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Estelle’s Hospice House in Ocala. Born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Jan. 18, 1921, to Peter and Mary (Olree) VanRosenberg, she came to Marion County in 1971 from Washington, N.J. She was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church West in Ocala. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Donna Ingrassia, who died on March 16, 2000. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Gladys L. Bremser, 78, of Inverness died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came to Inverness in 1971 from Oceanside, Long Island, N.Y. She was a member of the Homemakers of Inverness and the Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was the wife of the late Louis A. Bremser, who died Aug. 3, 1987. She was Lutheran. Jack Coleman, 74, of Homosassa
Jack Murphy Coleman, 74, of Homosassa died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. He was born in Kendrick and came to Homosassa five years ago from Philadelphia, Pa. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of an expeditionary medal and National Defense Service Medal with a bronze star. Upon retirement, he was employed by the Philadelphia Resin Company and educated in automotive mechanics. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie Coleman. He was Catholic. Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Gingerich of Homosassa; one son, Stephen Coleman of Port Richey; one sister, Ledgie Polson of Altoona; four granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. Leon Francis Kiernan, 84, of Beverly Hills died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000 at Brentwood Health Care Center in Lecanto. He was born in New Britain, Conn., and came here 26 years ago from Kensington, Conn. He was retired from New Britain High School, where he was a faculty manager, and Central Connecticut State University of New Britain, Conn. He served the public education system for more than 36 years. He was a publisher of the first computer textbooks used in high schools in America. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Hernando. Surviving are his wife, Ethel D. Kiernan of Beverly Hills; daughter, Maureen K. Laura M. Lothamer, 88, of Lecanto died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000 at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. She came here nine years ago from Cheboygan, Mich. She was a retired secretary for Ford Motor Car Company. She was an active gardener, published writer, painter and cook. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; a daughter, Joan Alvey; and sons, Edwin Jr. and Donald. Surviving are son-in-law, Norman E. Owen W. Smith, 80, of Lecanto died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, on Aug. 10, 1920 to Elva M. and Charles R. Smith. He moved here from Largo 10 years ago. He was a retired tax accountant, a World War II Navy veteran, member of the VFW Post 10094 of Indian Rocks Beach and the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Smith, on April 13, 1994. He is survived by one son, Ronald O. Smith of Largo; one daughter, Bonnie Rybolt of South Vienna, Ohio; his loving companion, Gladys DuBois of Lecanto; one brother, Walter Smith of Springfield, Ohio; one sister, Ellen Jones of Largo; two sisters-in-law, Betty Adams of Lecanto and Mary Burchnell of New Port, Ky.; three grandchildren, Ron Rybolt of Largo, Debbie Jennings of Hendersonville, N.C., and Gary Rybolt of Springfield, Ohio; six great-grandchildren; a lifelong friend, Raymond Cason, of Largo and many other friends. Born in Melbourne, Md., he came here 14 years ago from Baltimore, Md., and was a retired lieutenant colonel for the Civil Service, Signal Corps. He was a member of Back River Methodist Church of Essex, Md., and Patapsco Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite of Maryland. He is survived by two sons, Terry A. Stokes of Baltimore, Md., and Chris W. Harold Morris, 85, of Brunswick, Maine died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Mid Coast Hospital. He was born in Wyckoff, N.J., on Dec. 28, 1914, the son of Harry and Amy Morris. He married the former Katherine L. Rockwell in Hachensack, N.J., on Nov. 4, 1945. He lived in Greenwood Lake, N.J., for many years where he was a self-employed plumber, and moved to Florida in 1971 where he was employed as a union plumber for eight years. He lived in Citrus Springs for 20 years and moved to Maine in 1999 to live with a daughter, Arlene Morris, and her husband Steven Stern. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and toys, music, playing the clarinet and saxaphone, golf and helping his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his last year living in Maine. Surviving are his wife and daughter of Brunswick; daughters, Barbara Spitzform of Kissimmee and Denise Morris of Topsham; son, Arthur Schelle of Columbia, South America; brother, Gilbert Morris of Hudson, Fla., and two grandchildren.
